Hello all, I posted similar specs earlier this month but I'm a filmmaker and looking to build a new editing PC to handle 4K video as more and more clients are looking for this. Budget: £2200 Location: Scotland, UK Aim: 4K video editing and some motion graphics work with Premiere Pro CC Monitors: Currently one but up to three in the future Peripherals: Not needed. Will be running Windows 10. Why am I upgrading?: Current PC is struggling to edit 1080p video and in desperate need of an update I'm looking at getting the following: Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 1800X Motherboard: Asus Prime X370-PRO RAM: 32GB HyperX Savage DDR4 2666MHz (4x8GB) Graphics Card: 11GB Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080 Ti Hard Drive 1: 250GB Samsung SSD Hard Drive 2: 1TB WD Black Cooling: Corsair H60 with Ultra Quiet Fans Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated! Hey LTT Forum, I wasn't sure where to put this, so I figured the general discussion board would be the best. So, basically, I studied audio engineering while in college and in those days its was all about ProTools on Macs. It was the industry standard and everybody used it. Let's flash forward to today, where I still think Mac/ProTools is the standard, but PCs and ProTool for Windows has certainly closed the gap. Being out of the audio mixing/mastering game for about 12 years now, what would be a nice home studio board to get that won't break the bank, but still has great usability with ProTools Windows. I don't need some giant 64 channel mixer. I'm talking 16 channels and something that can fit on or under my desk. I look forward to hearing everyone's input! Thanks ~Tropton13~

I need advice on CPUs. I'm building a pc that is intended mostly for gaming with hopes of recording and editing in the near future. My motherboard that I have already bought is an MSI B250 pc mate which, correct me if I'm wrong, does not support overclocking. I have 8gb (2x4) corsair vengeance ram, and I intend to buy an evga 1060 3gb gpu. I'm not sure however which CPU to get. Should I get the i5 6500, or 6600?? (Budget oriented) Thanks, Cleedus777

Budget/Location My budget is ideally 1000 dollars, MAX 1100. I'm currently in the USA, Colorado. Aim My aim for this PC is going to be for heavy video editing, and medium gaming. I want to have the option to get into heavy gaming, but for right now my I would probably be mostly into things like G-Mod, GTA V, or things like that. I am going to be doing a lot of video editing, though, so that's my primary focus. Monitors I am going to have only one monitor. I don't have much use for multiple monitors, but I think I might look into 2 later on. My budget is going to focus on the PC, and one monitor. Peripherals I already have a mouse and keyboard and speakers. I don't need anything more. However, I do not have Windows OS. I plan on getting a $30 key from Kinguin. Reason for Upgrading I've been running on a 500$ AMD laptop from Acer for the past six years. I have a parts list running at the moment, but I need some help on compatibilities and such. PCPartPicker part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/khYkbj Price breakdown by merchant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/khYkbj/by_merchant/ CPU: Intel Core i7-7700K 4.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($349.75 @ OutletPC) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.99 @ SuperBiiz) Motherboard: MSI Z170A KRAIT GAMING 3X ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($122.99 @ SuperBiiz) Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($46.99 @ Jet) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($49.66 @ OutletPC) Video Card: MSI Radeon RX 470 8GB Gaming X Video Card ($189.99 @ Newegg) Case: NZXT S340 (Black/Red) ATX Mid Tower Case ($66.99 @ SuperBiiz) Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($74.99 @ Jet) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit ($30.00) Monitor: Asus VP228H 21.5" 1920x1080 60Hz Monitor ($109.00 @ Best Buy) Total: $1070.35 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2017-01-16 15:28 EST-0500 This is just a rough list at the moment. I'm not sure if I should settle for a skylake processor at the moment, but I think kaby lake has significant enough improvements in cinebench and stuff to stick with it. Also, I'm not sure how overclocking even works, and if it's worth it. So so that's basically it, just need some help improving it.

I've been trying out using Rawtherapee to edit some images today, because I took them in a situation with very poor lighting and wanted to get a little more out of them. I shot in both RAW and JPEG formats for each photo. I've noticed that if I run a JPEG through Rawtherapee with edits it comes out looking normal. However when I load in the same photo but in RAW, and make the same adjustments, then save as a JPEG, the end result is a very noisy, barely usable image. Camera is a Canon Rebel SL1, and the RAW format is .CR2. Can anyone help me out here? I know RAW is supposed to be used for superior editing, because it doesn't degrade from changes like a JPEG. What am I doing wrong?

I have a friend who is a content creator. He is thinking about building a second computer solely for editing so he can focus more. (different room, different mindset). I told him I could help him put one together. The only question i have is, if this computer is only gonna be for video editing, does it need a GPU. I don't know a whole lot about editing software and its demands. He uses Sony Vegas.

1. Budget & Location USA, San Diego. Budget is about $3000 USD at most 2. Aim Photo/Video Editing, Gaming, Multi-tasking, Basic Tasks, Streams 3. Monitors Ideally looking to run two 1080p-1440p monitors, currently running 1 1080p monitor 4. Peripherals Already have all I need, may upgrade mouse, keyboard and I'm thinking of upgrading to a nicer mouse (I will do this later on) 5. Why are you upgrading? I currently have a pre-built Best Buy desktop PC that will not be capable of doing any tasks I would like to begin doing, so I believe I need an upgrade that I can use for a long time My PC Build Ideas(Please tell me if there are better ideas for these): 1). Lower price point: $2700 USD 1 graphics card, nice case, custom cable sleeves, Elgato hd60 pro https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GfrP9W 2). Higher price point: $2965 USD 2-Way SLI GPU cards, nice case, custom cable sleeves, Elgato hd60 pro https://pcpartpicker.com/list/df9X3F PS- The price truthfully doesn't bother me to much, I just can't go over a $3000 price point and I would like to take advantage of that budget to it's fullest

I made a reply to a topic and I hit submit. Then I saw a post I would like to quote, so I went back to edit my post. I highlighted that member's reply and click on "Quote this". That member's quote does not go into the reply I'm editing, instead it starts as a new post. Now If I just hit submit, I will just make a double post and I don't want that, so I have to hit cancel and start over. By clicking on edit in my existing post, then tag that member and quote what they said. So, how do I add a member's quote into a existing post?

Hi, So I'm making a gun sync and I keep getting these automatic fades between clips. Quite annoying because I have 1500+ clips (again, making a gun sync) and can't remove them all manually. Does anyone know how to remove all of these fades at once? Thanks,

Anyone know of some good (preferably free) sites with large selections of royalty free music to use for video projects? The ones I've found so far don't have big free selections and the music is just generally not that good.

Can't quite find what I'm looking for photos/gaming monitor
Deepthinker22 posted a topic in Displays
I seem to be having trouble finding a monitor for what I'm looking for. I'm a casual gamer with a 1070 GTX graphics card, some AAA titles. But I also do ALOT of photo editing for printing. My current monitor is on its way out and I'm looking to move to wide gamut shooting (100% or close to 100% adobe RGB) But also really want to get 144Hz for gaming. Is there anything on the market that satisfies both worlds? Would something like the Asus PG279Q work for me there? Things I'm looking for. 2560x1440 or higher Higher referesh rate 10-Bit color (or 100% Adobe RGB) I'm not sure exactly what I'm looking for. Someone Talk me out of this maybe. Was looking at the PA279Q I have color calibrator now. (Spyder Pro) But would like something better out of the box. Incidentally I shoot with mostly canon 1D mark 3 and 1D mark 4 and 7D mark 2 for when I need APSc. -
AIM: I've been playing around with the idea of a streaming/video editing dedicated system, and I really like the idea of it. Especially since I want to keep all my resources to my main machine as much as possible. Plus I'm not gonna lie, since building my first machine, I've wanted to build another one and the itch is really getting to me. BUDGET AND LOCATION: Budget is USD $1200, but I'm willing to push a little, obviously making it less won't cause any complaints from me. BUILD, MONITOR, PERIPHALS: This is what I have so far: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/TGamer64/saved/s3zxrH Nothing crazy I think, 16GB of RAM might be a bit overkill for 1080p editing though, and yes the R5 1600 does come with a cooler, I'd like something a bit better for overclocking and such. I would like to run 2 monitors, but I'd like the 2nd monitor to be pretty cheap with compatibility for portrait mode, and I just don't know what to look for with that. I also plan on using the Synergy program so I can continue to use my current keyboard and mouse set-up, but if I must get a 2nd set it's not going to be anything overly fancy. I love my OG Elgato game capture HD and plan to keep using it for older systems, but the HD60 Pro seems like a nice upgrade and I can record/stream in 60fps. Looking for any advice on anything at all, I'm not really savvy about what's good for encoding and rendering. I've mostly based this build off of recommendations I've found online with my own personal tastes/preferences. Also, I do have 1 specific question, if I plug my HDMI cable from my main machine into the Elgato on the 2nd machine, but then plug a display port cable into the monitor to ensure there is no lag, would that put a dent in my performance? I would think not since it's simply mirroring the display and not rendering a whole new portion of the image.

When I capture my screen using a screen capture software and I upload it into a video editing software, the video and audio track loose sync. This is really annoying because after the video goes on for a while, the tracks don't match up with each other. This problem seems to be happening with different video editing software. also, when I view the screen capture in a media player, it plays through fine. Why is this happening?? And how can i stop it?

Hello! I'm currently looking for a new monitor for gaming and photo/video editing and I wonder if you guys have any suggestions on what monitor I should get with these requirements below. Resolution: 2560x1440 Refresh rate: 144hz if it's possible (60hz starts to hurt my eyes ;_;). Panel: IPS or better. Color accuracy: At least 98% of the SRGB color space. Brand: As long it's not a super weird third party company.

This is the build that I'm planning for. My main purpose will be video editing and vfx (obviously gaming too). These are the components that I planned for: 1. Asus X99 Deluxe II Edition for LGA2011v3 - X-Series Socket MotherBoard 2. Intel Core i7 6800K 3. ASUS ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1080 (ROG STRIX-GTX1080-O8G-GAMING) 4. I'm also planning for overclocking the system, so please do give your suggestions on the psu (whether its sufficient or not if later I add up another graphics card). Also if I need to make any changes please do let me know. I'll eagerly wait for your suggestions.

So I'm currently editing on a laptop (i5 5200u 2C/4T 2.20 GHz) and as you can probably imagine, video editing is pretty laggy for me (720p) I'm wondering how laggy editing would be on different desktop CPUs - most online sources couldn't be bothered enough and only include render times, but I think smooth editing is more important than render times. I know that "7" lineups are "best" for editing and you should "invest" in them, but Imma do some research first. So has anyone edited on relatively low end CPUs like i3s or even i5s? I want to know how the process goes. I've tried 2 CPUs (Hitfilm editing). i5 5200u has medium/high lag, and i3 4130 is medium/low lag (1080p, both without dedicated GPUs).

So. Here recently ive taken up video editing. And my current computer just takes to longer tonrender the videos(partly because im constantly using it. And partly my videos are long) so im going to build another pc for editing. What are some good building? Videos uncut are usually 2-5 hours. And there isnt really a spending limit but nothing stupid expensive please. Thank you.

What's up guys? So, my friend and I just opened a company and need a PC system that can easily run Premiere Pro CC to edit 4K footage on at least two 4K monitors. Let's assume a budget of around $2000, without any kind of peripherals. Thinking of sticking with Intel and nVidia for this one, even with the release of Ryzen. What would your specs sugestions be? Thanks in advance!

Since Vegas pro does NOT support modern GPUs, I am looking for a new video editor that fulfils the following criteria: Cost is irrelevant (does not matter if it is free, open source, or paid) Works on Windows 10 64-bit Not too difficult to use, especially since I am a Vegas Pro user Supports GPU acceleration when rendering (I have a GTX 1050ti 4GB) Many file formats acceptable and exportable (I use mainly .mp4, .mp3, .avi, .3gp) Features similar to Vegas Pro I will GREATLY appreciate if anyone will find the ''holy grail'' of video editing software. Magix is simply lazy as hell and have decided to tank the company into bankrupcy by flipping off everyone who edits videos. Having to use an older GPU (HD7xxx or GTX 600 series) is unacceptable. Many thanks in advance P.S - Do not mind my name P.S.S - I am new to this forum but not to the YouTube channel.
