Members. I'm facing a few issues while trying to edit 4K gameplay footage from my PS5. PS5 has two options to capture gameplay: 1) 1080P (.mp4) 2) 4K (.webm) First, the captured 4K footage extension is .webm, and neither Premier Pro nor DaVinci Resolve natively support the mentioned extension. Even after using a third party plugin called WebM at https://www.fnordware.com/WebM/ for Premier Pro to support the .webm file, the preview is laggy, and the colour Contrast and Brightness are messed up (Footage looks whitish). Is there a way to edit captured gameplay in Premier Pro without losing video quality? I have read about using FFMPEG to convert .webm to .mp4 without losing quality (or minimal quality loss). I didn't try converting as I was confused with the parameters. I'm a beginner, and I don't know how to get going with editing in this case. All your guidance and support is highly appreciated. Thank you.

Heyo! So my problem is when I try to have 2 videos playing at the same time in this scenario which lags Premiere a lot on playback even with lower the quality (1/4). I've had trouble with this a while ago with other footage too so could this be because of how my obs footage is being encoded (currently I use nvenc) or am I potentially bottlenecking my 3070 ti with a 3700x? My ram is only getting utilized 30% by Premiere as well. Specs CPU: 3700x clocked at 4.00 GPU: 3070 ti Ram: 4 slots of ddr4 8gb 3000hz Storage: 500gb ssd, 1tb ssd, 1tb nvme ssd, 2tb hdd, 6tb nas hdd.

Budget (including currency): ~2000 US dollars (without GPU) Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Warzone, Blender, Adobe Premiere Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): 1440 Fps https://pcpartpicker.com/list/sHz67X So this will be my first build since about 2013. I've swapped some newer parts in and out but nothing this extensive until now. This will be used for gaming and video editing, large photoshop files, and other creative productions. I was also starting a 3d modeling course, but my current PC is just doesn't have the power to use programs like Blender and Daz3D without slowing to a crawl. Bearing that, I'm sort of treating myself on some of these parts. But I have a few concerns: My motherboard. I've got some friends telling me that spending over 300 dollars is a complete rip off. I feel the one I choose is a good middle ground. Initially, I was going to go the nvme boot drive/ Sata SSD storage path, but I honestly can't find a good combination of parts that are both reliable and have good warranties/Customer service. I figured at the end of the day, I would rather pay more now and know my ass is covered if there's a problem down the road, then try to save money now and be fucked if the cheaper drives fail 3 months from now. Some of the 1 star reviews on newegg and amazon have admittedly shook me. I'm not a big fan of watercooling. Noctua is Noctua, but I've been reading about about the Scythe Mugen and Fuma 2. Maybe this is a place where I can save a few bucks? With the GPU market the way it is, I'll be gpu drop hunting for a while. I'm going to use my ol' 970 until I can grab a 3080. I know it will be a bottleneck, but it's only until I can beat the bots and scalpers. In all, I'm just asking for recommendations on places where I could save some money on similarly performing but less expensive parts. This is in no way a budget build, but any place where fat can be trimmed is good. EDIT: list is fixed lol.

So I'd like to get a PC. I currently have a decent laptop (I7-7700hq, 1050 Mobile, 16gb of ram, 1 tb hdd and 250gb sdd). It's good enough, however it has major cooling problems, as I'm kind of putting it through torture. It was meant as a powerful Notebook, and I put it through the most intense of games and programs. Now, I know this isn't really the best time to get a PC because of the Chip shortage, but my Laptop is both literally and figuratively falling apart. Budget (including currency): My budget is 1000 USD (Or about 6000 RON), excluding peripherals, OS and other stuff. So 1000 USD for the computer itself. Country: Romania. For those who don't know, that's eastern european. Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I'll mostly use it for editing (DaVinci Resolve), playing games (Non-Vr, but I would like to play PC VR games as well), and recording stuff while playing. I don't edit in crazy high resolutions. Just 1920x1080 at 60 fps. I'm not expecting crazy high FPS. If I get 60 fps in almost all current games I'll be more than happy. I can stomach VR at 60 fps as well. I've actually tried PC VR on my laptop at 10 fps, so 60 would be more than good. I'm also not recording at crazy high FPS or resolutions. Just 1920x1080 at 60 fps. I currently have to do 24 FPS at 720p because my laptop can't take it. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I'll be using 1 monitor at 1920x1080, most likely at 60hz, but I am planning to get another 1 in the future (Or maybe another 2?) I hope I'll be buying it in about a month or 2, but who knows, it might take more. I do also need a USB 3.2 gen 2 on the PC for use with the Oculus Quest. No, I don't want a pre-built. I'd like the experience of building a PC yourself. Also, I know the GPU costs quite a lot there, however I have found it cheaper in my country. I added it on PC Part Picker so I'd know how much Watts it needs. Speaking of watts, I know the Power Supply is quite overkill, but I'd like to upgrade the GPU after the shortage is resolve. If it ever gets resolved. Link to the PC on PC Part Picker (Screenshot will also be available below): https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tRGyvf Edit: Multiple people have told me about the 1660 (and 1660 super), so I will try and get that instead of the 1050 TI. Also, apparently this case has terrible airflow. That'll also be changed.

Budget (including currency): $2k usd - ish Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Adobe Premiere Other details: I'm looking at doing a new build primarily for editing with adobe premiere. I'm open to suggestion but looking at the Ryzen 7 5800X. It's been awhile since I've done a build but I'm not unfamiliar. So what CPU / Motherboard combo would be good to look at? I'm partial to ASUS but open to suggestion.

Will be mostly gaming at 1080p but would like to go to 1440p if wanted to. Here's the list that I put together from suggestions I heard from multiple people. I'm looking for a monitor that is good for color accuracy and gaming. I've been researching for weeks and am trying to make a good purchase decision since my upgrades are VERY spread apart. Key things I wish for: Panel Type: IPS Size in Inches: 27" or Bigger Resolution: 2560x1440 or 3440x1440 Response Time: 1-2ms GTG Adaptive Sync Tech: Free-Sync/G-Sync Speed: 144+ Hz HDR: 600/1000 (If possible) The PC I have to drive the monitor specs: EVGA XC RTX 2080 Non TI/Super AMD R7 5800X 32GB of 3200MHz G.Skill Royal M.2 Drive 500GB WD Blue 2 1TB HDD Drives @ 7200RPM ASUS ROG-STRIX X570-F Gaming At current I have a LG Ultrawide 25" 2560x1080 @ 60Hz 5ms Response time. The colors are good but it's 10 years old and slow. Fine for media consumption like movies but games it's a nono. Also, yes I know awful GPU pairing. But my 290X died then I bought a 2nd hand 960 to hold me over till I got my 2080. Didn't have money for a new monitor at the time. lol. As stated I'm going to be using this for Gaming/Photo & Video Editing. Gaming being the main focus so I would like one that has minimal to less smearing/ghosting. Color being important enough for editing but nothing 'professional' grade. I have a degree in Graphics but have yet a chance to use it in a actual career application. You know after being graduated for 4 years now... would like to be ready work if I do get the chance aside from my regular dabbling. Price range is up to 700ish... Games I play if it helps: Final Fantasy XIV, Battlefield (any of them really), Diablo III, Phasmaphobia, Borderlands 3, Left 4 Dead 2, Warframe. Those are my most current. FFXIV is almost daily though I know added space would be nice for Skill Icons. EDIT: Yes I know I'm not going to get ALL of these things for 700$Ish (US) but, would like to know what my best options are for the wants specified.

Hi all, I'm looking for a cheap monitor I can use for video editing. I'm hoping to have it as a temporary monitor while I'm between jobs (which hopefully won't last long) and not currently getting regular income so I'm not looking for the best of the best, just something that is useful. It literally just has to be colour accurate and not have a stupidly high response time (like 12 to 8ms) as I do want to use it for a little bit of gaming in my free time as well. (Please use UK store links if linking me to specific monitors) Cheers!

Budget (including currency): $1,500 Country: U.S. Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Steam, Little Nightmares, Battlefield 2042, Farcry 6, and many others. Davinci Resolve Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I want a 27'' 1440p 160hz or higher monitor (not curved) at a reasonable price, a 2TB SSD, AMD Ryzen 7 5800X or better, and was hoping to use a Corsair 4000D ATX Mid Tower Case. Not sure if that case is best for what I am going for. I do not need help finding a keyboard, mouse, or any accessories like RGB or a mouse pad. Regarding the rest of the parts, I have not found exactly what I wanted or could not find parts that would go great for my intended set up. I am looking for parts that are of course at a reasonable or maybe even a cheap price. I want this bad boy to be pretty quiet and not light up like a christmas tree. I know. I am one of the few people who don't like RGB lighting. Anyways, that's all I got. Hoping someone can help me find the parts at a decent price and help me complete my dream set up. This is my first time building a pc and learning about one and owning one. Its quite hard and I think with this community's help I can make my dream pc come true. I hope I gave out all the information that I can think of. Also, if anyone knows where to find a great comfortable chair that wont fade or look like crap in 5-10 years that would be great. I tried to research and find a lot of these parts myself but its hard to learn and research at the same time. If you do help me I would prefer you to make the list in pcpartpicker.com. If not, that's totally fine Edit: I'm totally fine if the budget goes overpriced but only because of the graphics card price

I’m trying to decide between two different monitors from LG at the same price point for my MacBook Pro. The monitor will be used for editing & grading videos for my YouTube channel. I’m deciding between the LG 27UP850-W and LG 32UP550-W. Comparison: https://www.lg.com/us/compare?bizType=B2C&modelId=MD08000010:MD08000732 Which one do you recommend for my use (video/photo editing)? I do wholeheartedly appreciate all the help.

Hello all, wondering if anyone has any suggestions for the following (also apologies if this is in the wrong area of the forums, seemed like the most appropriate): I head up a team of 4 video editors for a large company, and we mostly produce content for YouTube and other on demand platforms. We currently use Box for our long-term storage, and whenever footage from a shoot is delivered it is uploaded to Box for the video editors to download and work on their local machines since we are all working from home. This is also helpful as it is easy for freelancers to access and submit footage to Box. This is the main reason why we do not use a server based in the office - some of the video editors (like myself) use our personal machines when working from home, and we regularly use freelancers. The IT department would not allow external people or people on their personal computers to access a server for security reasons. Box, however, can be rather slow when it comes to upload and download speeds. This isn't normally a huge issue as most of the footage we have to work on is around 50GB in total. However, we are beginning to work on larger projects with significantly higher file sizes and amounts of files, and our IT department has said that they are looking to move away from using Box. There are numerous possible options being explored, but I wondered if anyone had any suggestions considering our requirements. We can either sign up to a service (much like Box), or can have new hardware installed in the office that our IT department can manage. Our requirements are: Long term, virtually unlimited (or at least easily expandable) file storage. Reasonably quick upload and download speeds. Access for all members of the team, as well as freelancers when required. Access for other people and teams in the wider company. In the long term many of the editing team will continue to largely work from home. It would therefore need to be easily accessible using average home internet speeds. My experience with this is somewhat limited. I have always edited from files proved to me on drives or downloaded from Box or other online storage and transfer services, so please be gentle! One solution proposed by IT was to have all the editing workstations based in the office so they have a fast direct connection to a server. Editors would then 'remote in' to the workstations from home. I had some concerns about this, however, which are perhaps unfounded but as I say, my experience in this kind of setup is limited. Surely connecting remotely to any machine will result in a fair amount of lag, which for video editing, VFX development and playback would be unworkable? Also we would not have admin privileges over any in-office workstation, and we frequently need to install different software or plugins. We have a very large and fast turnaround, and can't afford to wait 3-4 days for IT to install something for us. I also have various things from years of editing on local drives that I have in my house - in case of needing to get something from one of those drives presumably it wouldn't be a simple case of plugging it in to my PC and finding and importing the file into Premiere/AE? I imagine the workstation I am remoting into wouldn't be able to "see" (excuse the terminology) that drive as I'm not actually plugging it in to that machine, correct? Apologies for the length of the post, just wanted to give all the relevant information! Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Hey all, I'm currently running a Ryzen 7 1700 stock with Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 since 2017. I think it's time for an upgrade! I'm a gamer and also work as a video editor and photo editor (If I got an order/commission). I use premiere, after effects, and photoshop mainly, also affinity designer sometimes. I want someone to bust the myth for me right here right now. If I tried searching for "i5 10600k vs i9 10850k video editing" It will just show up a bunch of rendering time benchmarks which I couldn't care less for. I want to know how much different are they in the terms of "Editing/Working Experience". Like I said, I couldn't care less about rendering time, I just want the editing/working process to be stutter free, lag free, previews faster and all (Editing while being laggy or super heavy is stressful I tell ya). If they aren't that much different in the terms of "editing experience", I'll save the money and take the i5, with the price of the i9, I can get two 10600k honestly. I even read that previews while editing are being done by GPU, not CPU. Well in the terms of gaming, the 10600k can definitely go toe-to-toe with the i9 in 1080p. (I'm running 1080p 144hz). Also, I would most likely get the MSI MAG B460M Mortar as my motherboard (I've read good VRM temperatures about it, and I don't plan on overclocking, I've seen benchmarks of overclocked 10600k and stock, honestly not that much different.) Otherwise, the other one would be Asus Prime Z490-P, should I even get that?

Hello everyone I hope you are all good. So I could use some help. At the moment I'm playing on my PS5 and recording gameplay with my acer laptop using a razer ripsaw HD capture card. The laptop has an Intel i5 inside (5years old) and a nvidia 945M. And so I only can record in 720p because my laptop is already at the limit. Now I wanted to build a PC soon with the following parts: CPU: ryzen 7 5800 or Intel i7 10700K (depends on the price when I decide to order. GPU: RTX 3070 (or new radeon if better pricing) Motherboard: depending on the CPU, I'm open for tips PSU: 850W 80+Gold by corsair RAM: 32GB 3200 or 3600 corsair vengance Storage: 1TB samsung m.2 SSD + 3 TB seagate barracuda HDD Case: Corsair 4000x rgb (not 100% sure about the name) Cooling: corsair icue capellix 240mm aio + 1 extra corsair fan for the rear exhaust This is going to be a complete white build (except the Motherboard) Now the actual question: The PC is going to be used for Recording/Streaming/gaming. But at the moment I will not pay 1000$+ for an 3070 so I wanted to ask you guys if you think that if I buy an used gtx 970 for about 150$, will it be enough to record gameplay from my PS5 in 1080p? Or do you recommend any other used gpu for max 200$? I just wanted to improve the quality of the content I'm making, so I was thinking maybe at the moment I could buy an old gpu for recording and editing and when the prices are normal again I will upgrade to the 3070. Thanks for your help

Budget (including currency): $500-$700 USD Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Premiere Pro/After Effects, Witcher 3, AC Odyssey, and other games like these. Other details: I recently saw the "Building a $500 AMD Gaming PC" (at this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dEfc9LL9bQ&ab_channel=LinusTechTips) and while I know GPU prices are skyrocketing, I want to at least hypothetically work with that build in mind. A couple caviats from the original build list is that I don't need a HDD (I have many many extras laying around), and I would need a 500GB SSD. My main question is: will that build allow for a smooth experience editing 4k video in Premiere Pro? I can see that it gets 60fps in the games that he showed which is awesome, but would there be anything I would have to change/upgrade specifically to make it more of an editing PC? For editing, I would be editing 4k videos and exporting 4k and 1080p, but my monitors will be 1080p. I have no need for higher (and all the monitors I have are 1080p). I will be utilizing 3 monitors for the most part. Please don't include monitors or periphreals in your responses, as I have no need for new ones. For gaming, I'd like to have 1080/60p at high graphics for the titles I mentioned. Also, if VR is possible, please let me know. It's not a requirement, but it would be cool to have the ability to run those titles. I have past experience building PCs, however I have no experience actually picking out the parts that work together. The PCs I've built were for someone who bought all the parts, and I just put them together, not to mention that these were early 2010s PCs, so I'm pretty far removed from the current market. I currently have a 2013 Macbook Pro Core i7, 16GB Ram, Nvidia Geforce GT 750M 2GB. I use it for all my editing. It works great for 1080/30 editing, and mediocre for 1080/60/120. It's okay for 4k/30 editing, but once I add in a 2nd camera, it's crap. Even with playback at 1/8 resolution, I get smooth playback for like 30 seconds, then my computer overheats and throttles and I get 1 fps playback with sound cut off. Also, export times are super long, but that's less of a problem. After Effects on the other hand is very odd, I can open other people's projects and I can export them (albeit taking forever to export), but when I try to make an animation myself, it freezes even worse than Premiere. Basically any moving edits are a no no. I am not rushing to buy, but I would like to start this search and get all your opinions. Thanks!

Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Adobe Premiere Pro, After effects, and games like GTA Warzone Fortnite R6S Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): So this is what i've come to, i'd be really grateful if anyone could take a look and let me know if i missed anything that may be required for heavy editing, or if i've gone overboard in any areas. Thanks https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/NCYQJf

Hi all! I'm having trouble exporting my footage in Premiere Pro (in Media Encoder as well). All is swell when I first start rendering but it eventually stops about 10-30 seconds in. This isn't on a certain frame or a certain part of the project - it seems to happen at random. I've had something like this issue before but I've tried all of the things I did then to fix it to no avail. This is especially frustrating now because every time I tell Media Encoder or Premiere export to stop rendering it (since it never finishes), it will freeze the program and I have to force quit it. Even worse, I can't even get to the render screen now. I load into the project, don't touch it for 5 minutes so it has ample time to load, and about three clicks in it freezes and I have to force quit again. I highly doubt this is a reflection of my PC's ability to handle this footage, especially since I've done so before. Something else to note: I have several AE compositions in this sequence I'm trying to export. However, as I'll note in a bit, I'm still having trouble rendering even without the comps included. Here's what I've tried already: 1. Turning it on and off again (A.K.A restarting the program & my computer about a million times) 2. Removing all effects (Lumetri is the only one applied to these clips) 3. Rendering in a different sequence 4. Rendering in a different project 5. Rendering without Adobe Media Encoder 6. Updating all my applications (I tried rendering something before the update and I'm fairly sure I ran into the same problem but I can't be certain because I closed the program and tried to do it later. By the time "later" came, I had already updated my applications) 7. Pulling all of my hair out Here's what I've tried that has (sort of) worked: 1. Rendering a tiny portion of the clip - it successfully renders when it's dealing with 2-3 seconds of content. This includes rendering the AE comps. The full video is around 2 minutes. I've more or less isolated the problem to the program. This problem rendering persists in an entirely different project saved to a different drive with different footage (which is also on a different drive). The footage I tried to render in a different project was 1080p, 30FPS, MP4. The footage I need to render is 4k, 24FPS, MP4. Here are my PC specs: OS: Windows 10 MB: MSI Z390-A PRO CPU: I9 9900k @ 3.60GHz GPU: EVGA GEFORCE RTX 2080TI RAM: 64GB DDR4 2666MHz STORAGE: 4 SSDs in RAID 0 (This is where my footage is stored. Don't worry about volatility, I have 4 backup locations), 1 SSD for system, 2 1TB HDD, 1 500GB NVME M.2 SSD I'm at my wit's end here and I have people waiting on me to complete this project at work. I'd greatly appreciate any insight you have into this issue. Thanks in advance for your help! Best Regards, Erin Joan

Hi, I am looking at options for an external SSD to work from. I will be doing CAD modelling, a bit of music production, and some video/photo editing. Ive seen a few drives in the Amazon black Friday sale. The Samsung T7, T5 and the 970 Evo plus (m.2) have all peaked my interest. I have a 970 Evo in my PC so was wondering should I get another and put it in an external SSD enclosure or stick to pre built SSDs like the T5/T7? I have the ports to use the speeds of a decent external SSD Opinions/recommendations? Thanks

TL;DR: Budget is £1,300 (roughly $1,650 - $1,700) Need help from the ground up choosing parts for a desktop capable of editing 4K footage (Sony A7Siii) For some time now I'd been saving to purchase a new A7Siii so that I could become self employed and get out there into the world to achieve my dream. Tragedy struck when I recieved my camera; I booted up my laptop to start editing and immediately noticed green artifacting all over the monitor. My graphics card was fried with no hope of replacement, and I now have a beautiful camera on my hands and no potential to edit with. Not only can I not proceed with my self employment, but my creative outlet has now also been snubbed (making videos!) I'm writing today because to my name I have just about £1,150 (roughly $1,530). I need to get a computer which is capable of editing my new A7Siii's footage but I'm not the best with picking parts. The plan was to go for the Razerblade Pro 17' 300hz GTX 2080 S, but it's unfortunately £2,900. Way over budget for me currently. Until I can afford portability I'm settling for a desktop as this can always be upgraded in future. I might be able to secure a small cash injection so let's say my overall budget is £1,300. What recommendations could you please suggest?

Budget (including currency): Around $8.000 Country: Czech Republic Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming - GTA V, RDR2, WarZone, CyberPunk 2077, Battlefield V, Crysis Remastered, ARK: Survival Evolved Editing - Blender, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Daz3D Other details: Hi everyone, it seems that nobody knows anyone who builds custom PCs like I showed in my previous post, so I´ll probably have to build a PC of my dreams myself. I´ll just need your help, because I honestly don´t know what parts to choose and which parts do fit a specific type of motherboard, case etc. Few things I know I truly want are these: RTX 3090 - liquid cooled 2x 4TB SSD 64GB of ram (probably RGB) RGB fans Sleeved cables hard tubes - seethrough black or silver fittings case: Antec Torque Things I don´t know how to choose: motherboard processor (don´t know which one is better right now if Intel or AMD and I don´t know what do I need to enjoy games and editing) waterblock pump & reservoir power supply About that case - I like that futuristic design. I don´t honestly know what can fit inside, but it looks really cool. If this isn´t a case that could fit all the hardware listed above, I´d like to hear suggestions from you for a better case that could fit all in. Summary: This PC will be used for both work and gaming and I will be using this PC with a triple monitor setup (2x 2K monitors and 1x 4K monitor). Maybe a triple 4K monitor setup, but I´m still waiting for something new to pop up on the market. This is probably all I can think of right now. So let me know your thoughts, ideas and what hardware would you choose. Looking forward to see what you guys come up with.
