Old News, but I haven't seen any other posts. Just wondering what you guys think. http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2015/02/10/will-bethesda-announce-fallout-4-at-their-first-ever-e3-event/ "Bethesda made a short, but significant announcement today, a mere 80 words on their blog. Despite the length of the post, what they said was completely unprecedented: Bethesda will have an E3 press event for the first time ever." What do you guys think? I've been hurt too many times.

http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20141218PD210.html Title says it all. What do you guys think? Interesting at all? Do you thin they'll focus on XBone too much and leave Windows in the dust?

Hey forum, I am looking at buying some parts for my build, and I noticed a really good deal on an Asus P8Z77-V Pro motherboard. I am able to get this for about U.S. $120, which is pretty cheap considering the features it has. The catch is that it's the Z77 chipset. I was planning on getting the Haswell based Xeon E3 1230v3 and a $240 Gigabyte motherboard, but then I saw this deal and switched my focus to the Ivy Bridge based Xeon E3 1230v2. The Asus board has all the features I want, and I am saving $120. But, is it worth the $120 to buy the Gigabyte and Haswell chip? Is Haswell that much better than Ivy Bridge, or will I not notice the difference? I was thinking I could buy the Ivy Bridge, and use the money to go towards my GPU or an SSD or some other part. And another quick question: how long can I run a computer out of the case (like run a "test bench" on my motherboard box?) My case sold out and it's gonna be on backorder when I buy it, so I will have all the pieces to run a PC just not a case to put them in It will probably be about a week to two weeks before I get my case, so is it okay to run a PC like that for that long? Thanks!

Just came across this video It's interesting how vastly different the E3 trailer (2012) looks from the PS4 trailer (2014) A lot can happen in 2 years but it was rumored that all of the PS4 demo's at E3 were done with much more powerful PC's thoughts? edit ''1. The E3 Demo was run on high end PCs with PS4 controllers. 2. The so called 'PS4 gameplay' released six months ago was also filmed on high-end PCs 3. The story trailer is PS4 footage.'' - @Hawx

It looks like Bethesda's next game, whatever it is, has a scale that's gone off the charts. Hines’ response is typical, but it also seems to be definitive. Hines says two things: 1) Bethesda does not announce when they are going to make announcements, and 2) Bethesda Game Studios is not talking about their game for a long time Source

Hi guys, Can someone recommend a server board for E3 v2. I'm in the process of collecting parts to build a NAS. I do a need a mini itx form factor one to fit in a U-NAS NSC800 case. I looked at the Intel S1200KPR which has all the functions I need such as ECC / dual LANs / DVI out however it only has PCIe 2.0. Perhaps because its based on Intel C206 chipset. Can anyone recommend a PCIe 3.0 board ? Im thinking of getting an Intel E3-1225v2. The reason why I need PCIe 3.0 is because I was hoping to get an Adaptec 7805 RAID Card. Thanks in advance.

I am about to order an Intel Xeon e3 1230 V2 for my community gaming/home server however, as this type of GPU does not include the iGPU, will I need to buy a cheap GPU in order for the server to function? I had planned to always connect to the server via Remote Desktop, however what will I do before even installing Windows? I also ordered this motherboard (I wanted something cheap and functional, it seemed to meet all of my desired criteria) If this is the case, are there any recommendations? Most of the time I will be connecting to the server via Remote Desktop, so I do not need anything amazing, just something for as cheap as possible. Thanks for help!

Every year for many, many years, I've been excited to follow all of the live coverage of E3. But in the last 2 years specifically, I've been very bored. This has mostly to do with my interest in PC hardware and PC gaming. E3 for the most part is now only interesting if you are a console gamer. Are there announcements of PC games? Of course. But these bits of news are very minor in comparison to the heavy majority of console gaming coverage. Ever since I've been following LTT, I've gained a lot more interest in CES, especially because of their own coverage on it. There was that recent teaser for that ROG monitor that may or may not include G-Sync. This is something that actually got me excited for the first time in many years (regarding an upcoming trade show), because E3 has had nothing for me in a long while. Can't wait to see your coverage of the show!

They have released new trailers of The Crew! Edit: Sorry i couldn't get the videos working but here is links. Edit 2: Oh it did work, lol

I wanted to make this thread so that anyone who missed the conferences so far can just swift throught this and be up to date on the biggest and baddest happenings of E3 2014. Last night I watched Microsoft, EA and Ubisoft's conferences and it just got better and better. And this morning I got even more great news. So let's get to it, what I thought were the best in the conferences. Let's start with the obvious winner, Grand Theft Auto V coming to PC! (and next gen, but who cares about that?) So next up I've got to put the new Batman - Arkham Knight gameplay. It looks amazing, the lighting effects are great and I've got to say, I didn't have a lot of faith in the Batmobile, but they convinced me. Let's get this out of the way, probably the only good thing to come out of the Microsoft conference is the Witcher 3 gameplay. But boy did it worth the wait. Check it out! So these are the big winners for me, something before I roll onto Ubisoft's conference: Mortal Kombat X. New fighters, new moves, from the looks of it it's pretty good imo. So now, to keep the post a bit more concised all the Ubisoft announcements are going to be behind this spoiler.

So I have a list of games from E3, posting this here as most of them will be available on PC. Some not but I might actually buy the game and play it on a friends console (I don't have, nor wish-well not yet- to buy a console). Had a PS3 from a friend for like a year in my possession and loved to play GT5, it was an amazing game. So anyways you can add to the list in your comments, this is my list of games that attracted my eyes on E3 (it's not a specific order): NFS Rivals (yeah I know not many of you NFS fans, but I tried all NFS games in my life so I can't miss this) Drive Club (Another awesome driving game like GranTurismo and Forza series) Tom Clancy's: The Division!! (One that I'm most certainly thrilled about, the graphics are awesome, and the little details are even more) Assassin's Creed: Black Flag (Well I'm an AC fan, who isn't :D, and anyone who want to play as an pirate captain assassin, will check this game out too) The Crew (Created by the ones from Driver: SF and Test Drive Unlimited I was expecting something better, but the 10000km supossed road to be available and quite interesting tuning to the cars atracts me. So I'm waiting for some more gameplays to see if I want to even try it out) Titanfall (no need to comment, looks awesome) Watch Dogs!!! (I guess it's one of the most expected games, looks epic, has an interesting way of going around the city, hacking into everything) Thief (I liked Dishonored, and this game is pretty much the same, will give it a try.) CoD: Ghosts (will only play the single player part, don't care much about the game, but the single player was always interesting, though lately it is the same since cod 4 or so, just a few new places around the world :) and some interesting missions) Battlefield 4 (Who wouldn't want to play this? More exactly who wouldn't want the excitement you get when you destroy for the first time a skyscraper and see it collapse making that dust on the whole map, absolutely amazing :) ) Forza 5 and GT6 (no comments again, just that awesome driving games. Maybe only reason to get a console) inFamous Second Son (not sure about this one, but I liked the trailer/e3 gameplay) PES '14 (as all other years since 2010, just to try the demo, I'm not a big fan of soccer but sometimes it's fun. Same with Fifa '14) Batman Arkham Origins (looks good, comment: Batman) Splinter Cell Blacklist (worth a try) Elder Scrolls Online (not a MMO guy, but it's still an interesting game, will check gameplays and who knows maybe get it too) Arma 3 (no comments, awesome game) Saints Row IV (another epic game, can't wait to play it. will get it for sure) Fifa '14 (already stated my thoughts about it above) Dead Rising 3 (looks promising, DR2 was quite relaxing to play online) DayZ (I know it's a mod, but didn't try it yet :) ) GTA V (Will get it for sure, I have all of them from GTA 1 to EFLC, only drawback is my PC :( need more powar! :D ) Well this is my list, hope others have some other stuff to add, comments are not required. I just felt like leaving some. You can contradict me if you want in whatever I said above :). ------------------------------------------------------------ Edit: Games from replies in this thread :) DiRT 4 Mirror's Edge 2 (how could I forget this one, and it's one of the top games I want to try out)

At Microsoft's E3 conference, while showing off Double Helix's Killer Instinct a producer made a joke that could be construed as being a rape joke. While I didn't think it was completely intentional and thus a bit funny, knowing the internets, it doesn't come too surprising that several people were offended, so this is what microsoft had to say: That really wasn't enough to stop Twitter users from expressing their disappointment, though... I kinda feel bad for MS, everything they do seems to result in bad PR and I feel this was way too exaggerated and just random gamer trash talk, but what do you think, was it just gamer trash talk or an intentional sexist joke? This is from Famitsu [www.novacrystallis.com], and it's the reason why I believe PC ports will be awesome while console games will be good (better than usual). This is a quote from an interview between Tetsuya Nomura (developer of Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III) and Famitsu Magazine. The bold part is what I want to point out. Now, these are bullet points from an interview Nomura did with NBC (whoever they are...) which was live streamed during E3. Once again, the bold is my more important point. Whether these games would be good on PC or not (though the PC neeeeeds more JRPG's), the point is that it's apparently easy to bring them to PC. I'm not gonna say that all of the console games will be developed the way Nomura is doing it for FFXV and KH3 (though I think that's the right way), or that every game will use DirectX 11 (which PC's use, obviously). I'm just saying that the way things are going, more games are likely to come to PC and likely at MUCH higher quality. Maybe not all. Maybe not even half, but the future looks bright regardless. :) I just wanted to point out these things (from people developing for the new consoles and how they view doing it), so that others might know it as well. Not to mention this means better games for consoles as well. Which I'm particularly happy for (I will not play KH3 or FFXV on a PC. Simply because I prefer controllers for those types of games). Any thoughts? Happy for better quality and more games? P.S. Mod, if this is in the wrong section (I don't think it is), feel free to move it.
