E3 2022 has been cancelled. But not just the in-person event (which was cancelled back in January) - even the digital-only event that we had in 2021 is now confirmed to not be returning this year. News was first released by Razer PR lead Will Powers, who recieved the news via email: In a statement to IGN, the Entertainment Software Association (the people behind E3) claim that the plan is to focus resources and come back swinging in 2023 My thoughts I imagine most companies will make their own announcements around this time anyway (Nintendo direct etc.) Sources https://www.ign.com/articles/e3-2022-cancels-in-person-event-digital-show-uncertain - the article from January about the cancelling of the in-person https://www.ign.com/articles/e3-2022-officially-canceled

CD Projekt has said it will send a free copy of the Cyberpunk 2077 Collector's Edition to the guy who shouted "you're breathtaking!" at Keanu Reeves during Microsoft's E3 2019 media briefing. Also on the other side of the spectrum here we have a unnamed Bethesda cheerer screamed bloody murder throughout the conference lol, Cringe Warning In Case you haven't seen the actual presentation Source : https://www.gamespot.com/g00/articles/e3-2019-cyberpunk-2077-giving-free-copy-to-man-who/1100-6467599/

Hi I'm looking to build a home server and need some help selecting a CPU for the following uses: File sharing/NAS (smb, afp, ftp, webdav), planning 4x2tb in raid 5 (software raid) HTPC in virtual machine with GPU passthrough Apache with server monitoring software and online calendar Small home email server mumble server small game servers from time to time. tv tuner card to turn dvb-t into iptv and also remote tv recording. ideally enough computing power left over to run the odd extra test vm from time to time. features added in future Use as NVR using zoneminder no more than 8 cameras. My budget is ideally £700-£1000 (~$894-$1276) First question is xeon worth it for my usages (ecc, virtualisation)? Second question (assuming yes to 1.) Am i better off going for something like a brand new e3-1220v5 or an old e5 for the higher core count? Any help will be greatly appreciated. I've struggled to understanding how to compare xeons (and CPU's in general tbh), any advice on where to learn is also appreciated.

Finally it looks like Teamspeak are stepping up to compete with Discord, maybe even regain some of the users they lost as they have been sitting back so quietly over the years. Or is it too little too late for them? All I can find on it at the moment is: They picked up a new Logo (Ooooh) aimed at gamers. Revamped website and one small comment re TS5 : https://www.teamspeak.com/en/downloads#ts5 and a single tweet from them : Personally, I still run a 512 slot TS3 server and was just about to migrate to Discord but this news has holted me in my tracks. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Edit: it seems Valve have also jumped on the bandwagon, with Steam Chat (beta) taking everything that is good with discord and merging it with their chat. some parts are really similar...Possible partnership going on? but then again Valve don't do sharing. https://www.techradar.com/news/steam-is-finally-getting-integrated-voice-chat https://steamcommunity.com/updates/chatupdate Just food for thought, if TS5 can 1 up them even more i think they will have a good chance.

I am Building a computer, yes for mining... Intel E3 1275 V6 supports only 16 PCI-E lanes and i am planning to put 19 gpus in my Computer... I guessed that it wont work but better be sure than sorry so i am asking that here. Will it work or i need to put in a processor with atleast 19+ PCI-E lanes? https://ark.intel.com/products/97478/Intel-Xeon-Processor-E3-1275-v6-8M-Cache-3_80-GHz (Number of PCI-E lanes under Expansion options) https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/B250-MINING-EXPERT/ (motherboard)

So, i decided to finally build a game server for me and my friends. I started looking into old server cpus, eventually i found a great deal for a e3-1230 for around 60 bucks (not v2,v3 or anything like that, just e3-1230) and then i went and searched for motherboards that is compatible with that cpu, but i am still not sure which will work or not. I've found one that might work: Asrock Z68 Pro-3 M Intel Z68 mATX also heard that z87 works too. i am still not sure. can you guys give me some advice on what works or not?

Hi I'm trying to make a few videos on E3 content that have been announced so far and I'm having a friend a few states away do the voice overs. The only problem is I don't know where I can go to find photos I won't get hit with copyright issues on. Any ideas on a web service I can use or a way to use footage from E3 without getting hit by copyright violations?

So I waited till 1am Eastern standard to watch Bethesda essentially just throw a load of glitter in my face with very little meaty titles. So we are getting two motion controlled vr games(please stop tying this anchor to vr), Fallout 4 and Doom, more crap for Elder Scrolls MMO, an elder scrolls mobile card game( just saying, couldnt those ppl have worked on next real game?) and a paid mods for Skyrim and Fallout (how long until ppl just repost that on nexus or will it have DRM). Dishonored DLC which is fine but not amazing. New Quake which somehow forgot that its an Arena and has jumped on the Overwatch class based shooter bandwagon (does ID have dementia). Really the only two noteworthy game releases are the new Evil Within and Wolfenstein which seems really anemic. In conclusion, momma Bethesda says you have to eat your shitty card games, spinoff mmos and reheated leftovers until she is done with the real meal, honestly I don't know why they ever showed up if they aren't going to actually announce a mainline Fallout or Elderscroll because now everyone goes home with a case of blue balls and a pack of lusty Argonian maid trading cards.

Hey! So I was wondering, if I'm fifteen years old, would I be allowed to have my parents purchase a pass for me and my parents to go to E3? On the website basically it says video game fans are allowed in, so I was wondering if my age would be allowed? Obviously it's not like I don't play GTA or any other games..

I was on Amazon the other day, and was looking at the Xeon e3-1231v3. I'm likely to upgrade to it in the near future, but I saw there was an e3-1231v3b that was cheaper. Is there any difference in the two processors? The price difference is significant, so I would like to know if I'm going to regret buying the cheaper one

I'm going to E3 tomorrow. Just thought I'd get some suggestions from this community of gamers and tech enthusiasts to find out if you have suggestions of what you would want to see. Maybe I'll take pictures and describe what I see after I go to E3.

Okay, someone on Reddit got this off a Balkan AMD Facebook page where they said this (with awful Google translate below it): So maybe they're showing off a Zen + Polaris setup at E3. What will be interesting is how much we'll actually see besides just showing a Zen CPU running an actual game. Will we see a CPU-Z (or similar) spec sheet? Will we see core count, clock speed etc? FPS numbers? Probably only FPS at best. I don't think AMD will go public with the rest this early. Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/4nv19v/amd_showcasing_zen_cpu_running_doom_today_on_pc/ Just as I'm about to hit submit. It seems that the Facebook post linked has been taken down. So make of that what you will. Probably that an overly eager employee leaked the info early.

Hey all! I hope many of you got to enjoy the Beta, I sure did, I ran it with a 980 Ti with 4790K. Cranking everything to max, 1080P. Personally, I thought the game looked fantastic. I read the thread claiming Ubisoft downgraded it, I believed the thread as well, but the PC Beta proved me wrong. The visuals was fantastic with details everywhere. In fact I find it disappointing just how much of what you see is just shiny walls. Nothing can be interacted with. Like seriously, running for minutes is annoying when there are bikes all over the place... I digress, what do you guys think? I added a poll. Let the vote begin! Please, don't vote on the pole unless you seen/played the PC beta on max settings

MSI's introduction into the workstation segment, starts out with 2 of their newest workstation motherboards. Called MSI Workstation C236A and MSI Workstation C236M. Both of these boards runs on the Intel server C236 chipset, supporting Intel Skylake Xeon processors, along with Celeron, Pentium and Core i3. 64GB of ECC DDR4, but only at 2133MHz, due to chipset limitation. The C236A can do 3-way CFX and 2-way SLI, with PCIe lanes at x16, x16/x4, x8/x8/x4. 6 SATA 6Gb/s ports, a M.2, that can be converted to a U.2 connector for nvme drives, with their optional adapter. On the back, it's got both a PS/2 keyboard and mouse port. USB 3.1 type C Gen 2, USB 3.1 type A Gen 1, standard audio jacks for the Realtek ALC1150 audio codec. Intel gigabit lan, and your typical video out put connectors, HDMI, DVI, and VGA. Going to their 2nd board, the C236M, supports 2-way CFX at x16/x4 or a single gpu at x16. It's got 6 SATA 6Gb/s ports with 2 of them part of SATA Express, and Realtek ALC1150 audio codec. At the rear it has PS/2 keyboard and mouse combo port. 6x USB type A with 2x 2.0 and 4x 3.1 at Gen 1 speeds. gold plated audio jacks, clear CMOS button, and Realtek gigabit lan. Back in August, Intel launched the very first processor based on its newest Skylake architecture, specifically the Core i7 6700K and Core i5 6600K, both of these are quad core chips with a unlock multiplier to allow overclocking. Following that, we got the rest of the line up, all the way down to the entry level Pentium. Today we're going to take a look at the server/workstation side of Skylake, or more specifially Intel Xeon E3 1200 v5. Intel Xeon E3 1200 v5 skylake processors built on the current 14nm process will have a maximum of 4 cores with some models supporting Intel Hyper Threading Technology. It will run on the current Intel 1151 socket, with official support of up to 64GB of DDR4 memory at 1866/2133MHz.and DDR3L at 1333/1600MHz @ 1.35v. Frequency ranges from 2GHz all the way up to 3.7GHz and TDP of 25w to 80w. The processors will consist of 3 product categories. First up there is the Xeon E3 1200 v5 (4+GT0): LGA 1151/4 cores/no igpu. Next up there is the Xeon E3 1200 v5 (4+GT2): LGA 1151/4 cores/Intel P530 graphics, and finally Xeon E3 1200 v5 (4+GT4e), BGA/4 cores/Intel Iris Pro with 64MB eDRAM. Unlike its predecessor, Haswell and Broadwell, where users can Install a Xeon into a motherboard running on a consumer based chipset such as the Intel Z97. It's said that these Skylake Xeons are not compatibe with consumer based chipset like the Intel Z170. When it's installed with a non-compatible chipset, then the system will simply not boot. Not sure if that is true or motherboard makers can do a workaround with a bios update. Official chipset support for these Xeon Skylake cpus are Intel C232 and Intel C236, with BGA cpus only supported on Intel C236. While a lot of users are using Xeon for their builds, it's cheaper with Core i7 features like Hyper Threading. Intel's move for this might be a good thing, because they probably don't want to have it mixed with thier consumer platforms, as it might defeat the purpose of their Xeon parts as well as any special features that might come with it. A recent survey has revealed that motherboards with green pcb, once unpopular, has started to gain popularity among tech enthusiast. My dream machine was to always have a motherboard with a green pcb. http://wccftech.com/intel-skylake-xeon-e31200-v5-greenlow-family-launched-workstation-chips-incompatible-100series-desktop-chipsets/

E3 turned out great this year. The expo attracted about 52,200 people from 109 countries, even Kanye showed up this year! Anyways here is some news from the show. Overall, Sony had a great show this year. They unveiled the remaking of one of the most beloved Japanese role-playing game, Final Fantasy VII. The release date of the remade game isn’t yet known, so keep your eyes open. After many no-shows Team ICO finally unveiled The Last Guardian. The mastermind behind ICO and Shadow of the Colossus, Fumito Ueda, showed up to give the game his “stamp” of approval. Hopefully The Last Guardian will be as mystical as the studio’s previous games. Sony’s third and final announcement was the reveal of Shenmue 3. Fanboys have been losing sleep over this and rest easy it’s happening. The project was crowd-funded on Kickstarter and within a few hours they shot past their initial goal of 2 million dollars. Horizon Zero Dawn was revealed at E3 this year. Developed by Guerilla Games, the game is a third-person action game in which a hunter battles against giant robot dinosaurs. Not much can be said in terms of narrative. I, for one have many questions about the game. Uncharted 4 is coming out soon and is looking fantastic. The developers at Naughty Dog have been making slight tweaks to the gameplay as well as the graphics from the previous Uncharted. At points it almost looks like the game is going to be a bit of an open world adventure. Of course the sets at E3 were the crazy-over-the-top kind that we all know and love. No Man’s Sky was released and many people are asking what the heck even is this meant to be? Sean Murray has our answer, everytime he steps on-stage he show just how insanely large the rendered galaxy of No Man’s Sky is. It looks like the game is meant to be something like Elite:Dangerous, which was released earlier this year. I can’t wait to get my hands on this game. Media Molecule has released their game, Dreams. It looks really weird and also quite intriguing. The game looks like and horror game similar to Among the Sleep and deals with exploring interconnected worlds. The game looks very interesting and the idea of exploring interconnected worlds excites me. Finally Destiny revealed a new DLC, The Taken King. The Taken King looks like it will introduce some interesting content. No details were revealed on exactly what that content is. I am excited and there is nothing you can do about it. Thanks for tuning in and checking the blog out. Let me know in the comments if you liked the longer entry or if you want to keep it short. pjdimer

At this years E3 MS dropped the bombshell (well maybe more shotgun cartridge) that the xbone will offer backwards compatability for 360 games. this was praised and, in all fairness, i see why. its a good thing for exsisting 360 owners and people who have never owned a 360 at all. this left people wondering if sony will do the same and sony have answered. i get where they are coming from, its extra work to get the console to do BC, work that could be spent on getting the thing to run 60fps @ 1080 (pcmasterrace) and to be honest, its not going to be the diferance between buying one or the other really. having not owned a ps3, BC would have pushed me to buy a PS4 sooner but instead ill get the PS3 first and buy a shit load of really good games dirt cheap and wait for the PS4 to drop in price sony will still get there money form me. Its nice to see BC on the xbone but its not going to be its saving grace. source http://gadgets.ndtv.com/games/news/sony-explains-why-ps4-will-not-get-backward-compatibility-for-ps3-games-704710

I figured I would post another press conference, EA is up next. I know what to expect from some on this forum (the shitposting is going to be amazing, no doubt) but if we could perhaps keep things on topic and discuss the games. Mirrors Edge, Mass Effect, Battlefront, hell who knows what other franchise EA could bring back this year. It is certainly one of the more interesting conferences for E3. The show starts at 2PM, so lets buckle up for what should be a good one. I will be updating it as it goes along. Because its fun, and cohesive threads > random nonsense. Mass Effect Mass Effect: Andromeda will come out Holiday 2016 Source: http://kotaku.com/electronic-arts-showed-the-new-mass-effect-off-it-s-ca-1711474765 Need for Speed This game has 5 overlapping stories, tons of customization. Promises a return to classic "Bioware storytelling", IMHO if they really meant that they would give us KotOR III, not this MMO nonsense. Looks like we needed a proper thread for all this information so I am making one, it helps being organized. A lot of new information being revealed that is pretty neat, I will add it here. Will update as I go along. Xbox One is getting early access Yea, it finally happened. But unlike the mess known as Early Access on Steam, you get demos on the Xbox One before you plunk down money. Neat, right? Source: http://kotaku.com/xbox-one-is-getting-early-access-1711427830 Xbox partnership with Valve VR I wish I had more to share on this end, but I don't. I'm trying to see if they flesh out the information on this and let us know what exactly this partnership involves. Gears of War Ultimate Edition is coming August 25th, it will have a playable beta starting today. That is seriously awesome, AND ITS FREE. TAKE THAT SONY! Who wants to pay for your old games via a subscription service when MS is straight up letting old games work natively!
