I'm at my wits end with this issue. I've been fighting with driver timeouts on my system for nearly a year now with seemingly none of the solutions I've implemented, save one; working. Figured I'd try asking here as a last resort. Timeouts love to occur not just when I'm in-game but when I'm using my web browser, especially if it's using hardware acceleration on sites like HeroForge or YouTube. Also can just happen out of the blue with no discernible reason why. I've heard that AMD cards had issues with Samsung G7 monitors and I tried a whole slew of fixes in relation to that, none of those worked so I don't think it's related to that. The only thing that has managed to abate the constant timeouts is dropping my Adrenalin Software Version to 2021.1116.1830.33299 and the Driver Version to 21.30.23.04-211216a-376209C. While this has worked, it's obviously not really a permanent solution, especially given the age of the drivers I'm using. If anyone has any ideas, tips or god-willing a solution by all means, lay it on me. Willing to try just about anything at this point. System specs are as follows: Cooler Master Cosmos II Super Tower chassis AMD RYZEN 9 5950X @ ~4.5Ghz Asus ROG Strix X570-E Mainboard Sapphire Toxic LE RX 6900XT EVGA NU Audio Sound Card G.SKILL Ripjaws V 32 GB CL16 DRAM Kit @3600MHz x2 Noctua NH-D15 Chromax Black CPU Tower Cooler Seasonic PRIME 1000w PSU Windows 10 Pro OS Samsung 860 Pro 512 GB SSD (OS Drive) Western Digital BLACK 10 TB HDD x2 Samsung 960 EVO 500 GB M.2 SSDs (RAID 0'd) Valve Index VR Headset

sorry, this is my second ever pc ive built and am having some troubles, i think. I'm installing the package off of asus page for my mobo Lan drivers but when i look at them it has jumbo frames enabled and no option to disable them? ive tried installing what i think is the correct driver off of intels own website and i do have the jumbo frames disabled with option to enable them but then i have no option for transmit and receive buffers...? from what ive seen is that jumbo frames are bad for gaming...? and im convinced its not installing the correct driver as surely i should e able to disable them and not be enabled by default? i have a Intel® 2.5Gb Ethernet ASUS LANGuard network adapter. if anyone could help figure this out id be grateful

So I recently bought a GTX 1070 SC for 130 USD do I need to uninstall the current GPU drivers before installing the new GPU or can I just leave the drivers installed and just swap it out and then just update for the new card. Thanks in advance

Hello, I am in need of some help. A couple of months ago, I was cleaning my Surface Pro 7's drive in order to optimize and free up space using CCleaner. In doing so, I believe that I accidentally deleted some key drivers used for power management, battery monitoring, and battery display (how I managed to royally screw up so bad is a question I ask myself every day). Normally you'd think it'd be an easy fix, but it has been anything but easy. This is where I go over everything that I have done that I could possibly think of. I may be tech savvy, but I am not attuned to digging below the surface level of software. I have reset back to the last windows update, soft reset my surface (kept files and apps), hard reset my surface (wiped everything and start fresh), installed a fresh version of windows from Microsoft, installed the Create Windows 11 Installation Media tool, installed Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO), ran an in-place upgrade for windows 11, and downloaded the latest Surface Pro 7 drivers and firmware and I still cannot get the battery icon/drivers to work. I'm at the point where I don't know what to do next and all of the guides I try to lookup still have the battery drivers installed but they are either hidden or just not operating. There are no hidden drivers under device manager and the only thing that I can see that is an issue is the Surface Serial Hub Driver which has an error flag for: "This device cannot start. (Code 10) STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE." I am out of my depth here with several support chats with Microsoft doing no good. I really need some help here guys. Anything and everything is appreciated if it helps me get full functionality of my Surface Pro 7 again Note: This is not a major issue in the sense that I cannot use my Surface whatsoever. Daily issues include: battery life has been noticeably affected, cannot monitor battery life at all, device shuts off without warning when the battery is dead, and date code and device memory does not update to current date and time until the device has been on for about 30 minutes or so and is essentially stuck in the last place and time that I had my Surface on.

Recently got my first graphics card, an XFX RX 5500 XT went to install the driver's & they offer 2 diff versions adrenaline and pro. They say one is for gaming and one is for creators. I'm an artist and a gamer so I do both pretty heavily & I'm not really sure which driver to download. Does it really make a difference in performance or is the difference negligible? If it does matter which should I download or what is the difference between the two?

Hi all, I've purchased a 6700XT that i got a great deal on. Performance is as expected, but I've been having issues with the onboard HW video encoder, which i use for instant replay as well as recording/streaming. Issue: Any use of the VCE encoder crashes the computer. The crash is (i'm assuming) driver related - all screens go black and no longer recieve any signal from the computer. Audio and programs keep running just fine and the only fix is a power button restart. On reboot i have to re-enable the GPU in device manager. Both AVC and HEVC encoding cause the crash, but HEVC crashes faster. Troubleshooting I've tried: I've tried both ReLive and OBS/ffmpeg. Originally wiped the previous drivers with DDU. Then installed fresh Windows. Tried the latest drivers, the WHQL drivers, 22.4.1 (which iirc a lot of people reported being good for this kind of problem). Tried running stock settings, tried undervolting, changing memory timings, nothing helps. Gave up and decided to use obs with x264 replay buffer, which works fine, albeit with ~10% CPU usage at all time. That seemed to help, but a few days later I've had Overwatch crash on me with the same exact symptoms at least once, and Solasta Crown of the Magister crashes regularly between 5-15 minutes after launch every time. If anyone has any suggestions, they are greatly appreciated. p.s. I really want to avoid having to RMA since i gave my GTX 1080 to a friend

Hello! I am currently about to start the process of replacing my 3070 with a 3090! They are made by the same manufacturer and are basically identical except for the specs of course. (MSI Ventus 3x 3070 OC is being replaced by a MSI Ventus 3x 3090 OC) Will I need to uninstall the old drivers before I continue or will it not matter?

Hello all, I come to seek help and suggestions from you all. Currently I have an MSI B-450 A Motherboard. The latest Chipset drivers from AMD are installed as well as the latest UEFI version. Windows 10 1909 is installed as of now. (I will be updating now to eliminate this being an issue) Currently installed on the board in PCI-e slots are: NVMe drive, GTX 1070, and newly Cisco VIC 1225 Fiber Channel card in that order. The Cisco card is also installed in an R2 server I own with no issues. The latest Drives are installed from Cisco (4.2) The Card Functions as it should Only when I go into UEFI and change a setting for PCI Express, it tends to not matter what setting. For example, changing the lane size from 8x8 to 4x4x4x4 then booting to windows 10 will make the card function. Then upon restart with the same settings will get driver error and no card will show up on device manager. I have tried different settings to see if anything sticks but no luck. VEN 1137 = Cisco DEV 004E = VIC 82 PCIe Upstream Port I am also aware of this post from Cisco containing a bug, but I do not believe to be part of my issue, due to this problem occurring with these steps taken still. The only other things I can think to try are updating windows 10 to 21H2 (Idk what good that will do) or switching the physical locations of the cards. I have also tried Hack Flags in the registry, but it does not actually fix the issue. The main thing here is, what is actually causing the issue? Cisco? MSI? AMD? Windows? Meee? I know Cisco will give me a big fat L for my troubles. Thank you for any suggestions. EDIT: Windows 10 has been updated to 21H2 with no change

Hi! I bought an MSi 3070 Ti a while back, and it worked amazing with my MSi 1080p display @ 144hz! I then got the latest Nvidia driver (516.94) and when I set 144hz I get this weird artifact at the top of my screen like it can't sync the image or something, I don't know and I have to set the monitor to 120hz in the Windows settings and when I do that it works great! Are there anyone who have any idea why this is and if there is a fix for this issue? I hope someone could explain what's going on because I have no clue!

Hey, everyone! So basically what the title says . The clarity of the unwanted audio on the other end seems to vary depending on something I haven't quite figured out yet... My leading theory is that audio of someone speaking is heard more clearly, while e.g. music doesn't cause that many problems. The volume of the audio does also have an effect. Sound leaking from my headphones is basically ruled out because even really quiet unwanted audio can be received on the other end even though I have In-Ear headphones... I'm running Wondows 10 64bit with a Realtek(R) Audio driver. What I've tried: - Reinstalling my audio driver - Messing with the Discord settings (Including resetting the "Voice and Video" settings to standard) - Changing the properties of my input device in the system panel sound settings (Activating/Deactivating Exclusive mode, etc.) Does anybody know what could be causing this? I am desparate D:

The audio drivers provided by Asus/Realtek are crap. Are these audio drivers legit? https://github.com/AlanFinotty/AAFOptimusDCHAudio-Realtek/releases Third party drivers don't make me feel very confident. Anyone know for sure?

Hello guys, I am quite frustrated since I decided to make the jump from a GTX 1060 3GB to a RX 6600, the problem is that, I uninstalled the drivers with DDU in safe mode, after that, I proceeded to change the graphics card, I installed its drivers, but after that I noticed that the speakers (rear and front panel 3.5mm) sounded with very little volume (i'ts at 100% and it sounds very little, compared as it did with the 1060), I have done the impossible, reinstall the drivers according to my motherboard from the manufacturer's page, do a clean install of Windows, go back to Windows 10 in a clean install, uninstall the GPU again with DDU and then install the Realtek drivers over and over, also i tried different versions of the drivers from internet, and actually i can't use the HDMI AMD output since i have a monitor without any speaker, so I don't know what to do, I need your help This is my computer: - Intel Core i3-9100F - MoBo MSI H310M PRO-VHD PLUS - XFX Swift 210 - RX 6600 - GSkill Ripjaws V - 3600 Mhz (running at 2400 Mhz with XMP enabled) - Kingston 480GB SSD - WD Blue 1TB HDD

Hi all, I am new to this forum and not particularly techy so apologies if this is a silly question / in the wrong place! I am planning to switch to Linux (Kubuntu to be specific) but have heard Nvidia GPUs have awful drivers on Linux. I have been using a 1050ti for the past few years, but the poor thing is really on its last legs and needed some emergency surgery to keep running, so this seems like a good time to upgrade especially with GPU prices finally coming down. So my questions are this, Is it okay to run an Nvidia GPU on Linux, what problems might occur and are they worth worrying about? And if I should upgrade, what GPUs should I look at? Preferably AMD, with comparable or better performance than a 1050ti. I have done some looking around but honestly I don't know what the specs mean or what is a good price... Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I would appreciate any advice anyone has! In case you need the info I am British and my motherboard is an ASUStek H110M-A/M.2.

I recently reinstalled windows on my ssd and also upgraded the case, ram, and psu. My motherboard is the Hp Odense2-k. (It is from a prebuilt). My gpu is the geforce gtx 1060 3gb. After installing windows on the ssd I noticed a few things: -The bluetooth no longer works -The wifi connection is much weaker than before. Things I have tried to fix this: -Update and reinstall drivers in device manager -Update and download drivers in hp support and intel driver assistant -Resetting the pc -Tried many windows troubleshooters. -Much more that I can’t remember Any suggestions or possible solutions?

Hey just wanna start this off by saying thank you to whoever is reading this. I recently built a new computer and have been randomly, about once a day, been getting a blue screen error with a stop code called DRIVER_VERIFIER_DMA_VIOLATION. Alongside this, my audio driver for my Corsair Void Pro RGB randomly dies and the only way to fix it is to restart my computer and sometimes, when my audio driver dies my computer blue screens at the same time. When I do switch my audio output device to my monitor from my headset, audio still does play so I'm sure it has something to do with the headset driver itself. I have tried multiple troubleshooting tips such as reinstalling my audio drivers, updating all my USB drivers, and even swapped to windows 11 thinking it might be a possible fix. Any insight would be appreciated.

Hello, I've been having this issue for some time now. Whenever I play some games on my pc, usually on the next day when I press the button to start pc, my pc ends up on black screen. Then when I hard stop my pc and start again my pc starts without drivers and then when I restart my drivers have finally started. Basically, I need to start my pc 3 times before it properly boots. I tried reinstalling drivers, it didn't help. Before like 1 month, it was alright. I don't know what happened, but I would like to resolve this. My specs are: GPU: Radeon 580 8gb CPU: i7 6700 RAM: some HyperX 16GB stick Motherboard: MSI B250 GAMING PRO CARBON 1x M.2 NVMe SSD Kingston 240GB 1x BarraCuda Green 2TB

Hey, LTT crowd ) Thank you for the great things you do! I have been looking for perfect laptops for the last 20 years and this is a kind of hobby for me. I really enjoy buying them and testing them in real life. I have first learned about the LG Gram laptops 2-3 years ago I think and it was from your videos. Six months ago I was comparing laptops (as usual) and have selected the 16 inch convertibles for the office. Bought them - all good. Then I decided to buy one for myself and it happened to be that LG gram (2021) 16T90P-G.AA75G 2-in-1 was available at a great price. The specs are: BIOS version is GP251; SMBIOS Version 3.3; UEFI Boot Yes; Secure Boot Disabled (also tried with enabled) System BIOS Date 05/05/2022 OS Version 10.0.19044.1826 (Win10 21H2 November 2021 Update) Intel Core i7-1165G7; GPU Intel Tiger Lake-UP3 - GT2 Integrated Graphics [LG Electronics]; 16GB LPDDR4 SDRAM; 512 GB NVMe with the native 65W power supply (tried others also) The problem (me, probably) 20 mins in my hands and I make a clean Win10 64 home install from an ISO got through the Media Creation Tool. All good, but then I notice there is some hardware not installed properly and web camera shows black screen only and the touch screen does not work at all. - The device with HW ID ACPI\VEN_WCOM&DEV_5283 shown as I2C HID Device with a warning - The monitor HW ID MONITOR\LGD0694 in the device manager shows Generic PnP Monitor and uses a driver from 2006 (that is suspicious) - The camera HW ID USB\VID_0408&PID_A096&REV_0001&MI_00 is shown as USB HD webcam Tried - Upgrading to win11 - Windows updates and searching for drivers there - Installing PoP OS (with full wipe of all partitions) - Installing LG update center and updating all drivers (all ) - Installing 2-3 softwares in Win to automatically update drivers - Searching by HW id's did not give me any results I could use - Searching for a physical shutter for the camera (no there is none) - Enabling touch screen in LG Control center - 2 support engineers from 2 different companies did the same things, but failed to help Please help. Hello! I am defeated... I cant seem to wrap my head around this. If someone can please help me. I don't always play with the Xbox Controller on my pc, so I wasn't up to date on its latest drivers. The Xbox Series X controller drivers are out of date and the Xbox Accessories app cant pick up the controller to update it. I don't have a console to connect the controller to, to update it. I've tried connecting wirelessly and via USB. I just need the drivers. The only way to update the drivers is through the Xbox Accessories app on PC from what I can see. If I connect via USB-C it just registers as a generic Controller which drivers are out of date/Missing. What do I Do? Please help. Oh and when it is connected wirelessly I've tested it on https://gamepad-tester.com/ and it registers the inputs so the controller is working, it just doesn't get picked up by the Xbox Accessories app or the game I was trying to play.

I am a new to swapping hardware on the same Windows install and I have a few questions about how smoothly it would go. I am switching all of these parts at once. I am going from Intel to AMD, swapping GPU, and swapping my mobo. My question is will the intel chipset drivers uninstall automatically through Windows updates and will AMD's automatically install in replace of that? Also, will Nvidia's GPU drivers be seamless from swapping GPU's? I want to keep the same Windows install and have as little headache as possible while knowing what to expect. I will of course update the bios before booting into Windows.

Hello, I have this issue where if when i'm connected to my wifi on my laptop the download/upload speed is very low. I tried connecing with ethernet cable and still the speed was same. But, the speed on all of the other devices connected to the wifi has the same intended speed (My ISP Plan). I thought only laptops are being limited, but my brothers laptop is doing fine. I tried everything thats on youtube, tried uninstalling and installing drivers. I haven't tried reinstalling windows (clean install), but i did reset it. PS : I installed an emulator for a while cause my phone was damaged and out of nowhere i wanted to do a speedtest on that. surprisingly the speed was ok. I follow linustechtips and thought of trying my luck here. A solution for this is appreciated and i want to know why this is happening too. I attached the images of my speedtests i performed.

So I had never installed Windows on this machine till now. Nvidia drivers on Arch Linux worked fined and there were no crashes or problems. But after installing Windows 10 on a second SSD and trying to install the Nvidia drivers I get a black screen. After force shutdown of the machine the windows logo comes up and when it's time to show lock screen I get a nothing (black screen). I have tried: Using DDU to cleanly install the driver. Updating GPU bios to a newer version. Updating motherboard bios. Installing older / newer drivers (all lead to the bug). I haven't tried every driver version as going to safe mode and installing drivers gets old pretty fast. Removing some RAM to see if it's the problem. Using NVCleanInstall. The only drivers that work are the default ones that come with windows. They are quite old and the game (Deathloop) that I try to run requires at least 471.96. I am out of ideas of what to try next. I can pretty much rule out hardware problems as it runs fine on Linux. My specs: ASUS ROG G751JT GPU: Geforce GTX 970M RAM: 8GB x1, 4GB x2, 2GB x1 OS: Windows 10

I recently bought a Radeon radeon rx 6700 xt red devil, and today (after the pc has been running fine for the past two days since upgrading) my PC started restarting itself after a short duration of playing games as well as one game would run correctly (I could hear the menu responding to inputs and the music worked) but had a total black screen. This issue seems to have started after I installed the newest AMD launcher and drivers. Upon removing the launcher, the black screen game worked properly but I couldn't launch the other game that was making my pc restart due to the error “DX11 feature level 10.0 is required to run the engine.” CPU and GPU temps were in the 40s-50s degrees C **UPDATE** same restart happened during a longer play session of GTA V performance was good during gameplay (100+fps) on normal settings fullscreen, 1920x180p Unknown CPU and GPU temps All AMD programs uninstalled during this play **UPDATE** Max settings doom eternal runs fine at 140 fps average (no restart happened during playtest) Windows 10 home 64 bit ASRock B450M/AC System Board (flashed bios to newest version before changing to current CPU 4 days ago (BIOS Version 2.70 2021/5/1310.20MB, latest version) Ryzen 7 5700x 8-core processor G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) WDC_WDS250G1B0C SSD (250GB) boot drive TOSHIBA HDWD1TB storage drive EVGA 850GT (850W gold power supply)
