Hey LTT, I have an idea that I am planning to do on a build. this is more of a concept build rather than a performance- hence I will be using older parts not really meant to do much gaming. Ok well anyway here is my idea. I want to modify the corsair 600t that I own and put a custom built bladeless fan- made from acrylic so it is see through. I think that the bladeless fan idea would be great to show off the front bays- potentially to mount something. I understand the bladeless fans are not the quietest or move the most amount of air but I am looking forward to trying this concept out (pardon the paint sketch attached as I dont have any software to do rendering) Let me know what you guys think!

Can somebody give me a list of good parts for a computer. My budget is around $1,000 including screen, keyboard and mouse. This computer is not going to be used for gaming very much. It is going to be used for multipurpose things like programming, a little video editing, web surfing, etc. I would also like it to include a DVD drive and a good pair of speakers. I live in the USA. It can be any color or a mix of colors. I don't care about noise. And I would like it to be a ATX or mATX size. I am not picky with the screen but would like a back-lit keyboard and cordless mouse. I don't need a expensive graphics card but would prefer Nvidia. thank-you

So I'm planning to build my own system and I'm not sure if what I have picked out for it is good or not. I was wondering if some of you could help me out? Here are the links to the spreadsheet and forum I have that contain the info about it: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-EGSnPAki6Co1hyqmrIqGAEvuFcOmkwt7-B9346jNoo/edit?usp=sharing https://docs.google.com/document/d/1afULqU7X5BjNTCuAzEPLqZMfIzLAbV6ir19vvMQqzwo/edit?usp=sharing

Hi! I'm going to do a build in a bit over a year. (August-ish 2016) I'll post the progress here. The interesting thing will be the case, which will be as tiny as possible. Until the rig is being built, I want you to submit your ideas about what parts to get and whatever else relevant. On July 17th 2016, the parts for the rig will be decided and ordered shortly. Around that time, I shall announce the parts and configurations I have decided upon and some time later begin the build log. The parts I will list are subject to presumption and educated guesses. This rig will last me until I move to my own place. (Late 2018/Early 2019) I already own some of these components, so their price will not be included. These parts are what I'm currently considering (will be edited whenever I decide I want to change something): Custom (small) case Samsung 860 EVO SSD 500GB Intel Core i7-6770k w/low profile cooler M.2 SSD 128GB Windows 10 Corsair CS750M OWNED 4×8GB DDR4 RAM @ 2400MHz mITX Z170 socket 1151 (will upgrade when PCIe 4.0 comes out) nVidia GeForce GTX 1080Ti 12GB or AMD Radeon R9 "Fury X 2" 8GB HBM External DVD R/W Drive OWNED (will rework standard drive to external) 2× Cougar 140mm fan OWNED Estimated Price:~18,500 SEK/~2200 USD+case costs EDIT: In response to the comments. This was meant as a long-growing discussion, which would end in near absolute clarity once we'd reached the time of upgrading. I wished for certainty and planning, causing no regrets once the build has been decided upon. EDIT: The idea is that I want a case that can support a mITX board, a full-size PSU, The successor to the 980Ti, a normal SSD, an M.2 SSD, 2 140mm fans, and such. It should be custom and as tiny as possible. It will be finished in the late summer/early Autumn of 2016. I will design the case, and will begin to do so as soon as I can. What I want is the forum's input.

I think I have a serious pcpartspicker addiction, I just spent two hours making this list. I have no money to build this machine, I don't really have the time to be contemplating $8000 computers when I need to be finishing school and finding a new job, but I can't stop. So last night I had this dream where I was watching LTT and the new video came out and linus started off by saying "There are some users on our forums, FatPenguin, @Minibois, @GrimNeo, @Aytex" (there was more but I forgot). Then I was in my living room with linus and he was screaming " YOU MADE MORE THAN 6 POSTS IN A DAAAAYY". then I woke up. weird night.

Hi guys, building a new gaming rig and heres what I think of building on a very tight budget. Intel I5-4690K MSI Gaming Z97 gaming 5 MSI GTX 960 M.2 SSD 250GB Samsung 1TB WD Black 7200rpm Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz 2x8gb Corsair 300R Zallman 750W gold Corsair H80i GT CPU cooler can I play the game decently? comments and suggestions are welcome! thank you!

My current build can run most games, while on medium or low at around 40-50 fps (CS:GO stable 100 fps with high settings). Now Im looking to upgrade my current system so I can get atleast stable 60 fps on most AAA titles in medium-high conditions, and 120 stable in CS:GO. Power supply, case, cooling and storage aren't a problem. Here's my current build: CPU: Intel i7-860 @ 2,90 GHz boost (LGA1156) Motherboard: Asus P7P55D LE GPU: AMD Radeon HD 5770 RAM: 8gb DDR3 1333 So I have a big problem, which is to change the overly dated CPU, I would need to completely change the motherboard. I was thinking of getting a Z97-ProGamer, along with a Asus Turbo GTX 960 2gb and an i5-4690, however this is over my budget and I would have to save for quite a while to get it. Is the motherboard overkill? What do you suggest, with similar performance to these 3 components? Is it even worth upgrading at the moment with the rise of DDR4? Any suggestion is appreciated.

Gonna buy a better PSU for the upcoming GPU. Have a good day everyone.

I am tiring to build my self a gaming pc with black and white colour scheme. So far I have the case and fans. I went for AMD CPU as they are way cheaper than Inter same as Motherboard. And here is where you come guys I need your help, is this/will be good pc for gaming? Also I switch to 4k once I have at least one fury GPU. My budget is around £2000. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/VP4823

Hi guys I'm planning on building my own pc, I already build one for a friend of mine, wich was almost equal to mine. The one that I am planning is a bit more expensive, but i know how to build it. So first things first, can you guys give me some advise on my build? (this is the MAX budget i can spend so don't go over it) Here are my parts: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/9sXy23 (Disclaimer: i couldnt find the PSU that i chosen so i picked an equal one in order of getting the list right. I picked this: http://www.sharkoon.com/?q=en/node/2583. It is a modular PSU with two 6+2 pins for my graphicscard, so it will be fine i think. just keep this in mind.) -Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor (should i overklock it?) -MSI Z97-GAMING 5 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard -Kingston Fury Red Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1333 Memory (to much? gaming and video editting+recording?) -MSI Radeon R9 280X 3GB TWIN FROZR Video Card -Thermaltake Water 3.0 Performer 99.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler (where should i mount rad+fan?) -Corsair Air Series AF120 Red 52.2 CFM 120mm Fan X2 (they are the same as the fan already in the case, need more? less?) (where should i mount them? I was thinking to remove the one on the rad and replace it with 1 AF120 and putting the stock white fan somewhere else?) -Corsair SPEC-01 RED ATX Mid Tower Case -Sharkoon WPM600 Bronze, 600 Watt PSU (http://www.sharkoon.com/?q=en/node/2583) -Sandisk Solid State Drive 128GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (is this a good choice? i just picked the cheapest one?) (i wanna install windows on it and LoL) -Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (just mass storage for files and movies) (is this the best price/$ 1TB choice?) And this monitor: LG 25UM65-P 60Hz 25.0" Monitor (its an Ultra Wide monitor of 25 inch) (is this good? is there a better one for this price? (i pay 199euros = 224.07USD)) I appreciate your help! Thanks a lot for helping me out! Sorry for my english, i did my verry best, i'm from belgium and speak Dutch Niels Moureau (16)

The Little Red Rendering Hood 6 Cores of Weird @Rumikarimu a banner would be sick yo. I filled out your form. *Disclaimer* The use of "The Creator," "He," or other similar terms, has nothing to do with God(s), they refer to me, the creator of this build. Just didn't want to offend anybody. Also my grammar is sub-par for a native English-Speaker. Enjoy. The Story: One day in the deep, dark forest of PCPartpicker, emerged a two builds named "4690k/770" and "4790k/750ti." They were placed there by the creator, nicon. He had the intention of creating a rendering machine for under $1050. Nicon loved to use the Adobe Suite everyday to create awesome content, for multiple reasons. He was torn between the two builds, because they both had their benefits. Alas, there was an evil being in the forest named "Lack of Money (LOM)" (aka. The Fox). LOM was causing Him to not be able to afford the builds. Nicon was mad. Suddenly, nicon came across more money, banishing LOM from the forest. The creator wondered what he could do with the extra money, and suddenly he knew. One word, "X99." Poof! Into the forest of PCPartpicker emerged a young build named the "Little Red Rendering Hood" The End. OK, enough with the crappy attempt to make a computer-themed fan-fic of the Little Red Riding Hood, a story which the last time I read it, I was still in 2nd grade. Anyways, I think you get the point. Here is the part list (THX to @AliveGhost13 for help) and a small rationale for each part: Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz 6-Core Processor: Murders the 4790k in anything multithreaded (rendering). I'm not going for 3-4 way SLI, so 5930k is pointless for me. Noctua NH-U14s: It's like a mini D15. It's quiet and it kicks ass. In some cases (no pun intended), it beats the D15 performance-wise. ASRock Fatal1ty X99M Killer Micro ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard: Gets good reviews, mATX, $40 rebate yo. It's also called the Fatality Killer, so +50 points. A-Data XPG Z1 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR4-2800 Memory: Cheapest 16gb kit that matched my build colors. Also looks badass, like a bloody (actual blood, not the British expression) pyramid. 2800mhz isn't exactly slow either. A-Data Premier Pro SP900 64GB 2.5" Solid State Drive: 64gb is all you need for OS (Win 10), and essential applications. Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive: Reliable, good. I once a one dropped on on the ground from shoulder level (~5.5 foot) and it still works like a charm. I also put most of my media on external drives, don't ask. Gigabyte GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB WINDFORCE Video Card: I'm not gaming. Even if I was the 750ti is a strong performer. A 750ti is all I need to accelerate rendering/previews. Yes, a Quadro M6000 will render faster, but it will not scale with it's price difference. The 750ti reaches a sweet-spot in rendering performance/value. Blue PCB sukkks, might put some white/red acrylic over it as a pseudo-backplate. Thermaltake Core V21 MicroATX Mini Tower Case: Good, relatively large mATX case. Easy to work in, has room for the cooler, and a basement for the PSU+cables. Also great airflow/customizability. Raidmax 530W Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply: Gets good reviews, will work up to a 970 (if I upgrade) Gigabyte GC-WB867D-I 802.11a/b/g/n/ac PCI-Express x1 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth Adapter: I'm in a room with no wired connection. Fast, good, cheap and comes with bluetooth. (Future Upgrade) Noctua NF-A14 industrialPPC-2000 PWM 140mm Fan (x3) + Noctua Red rubber-corner things: Good, quiet, matches build. (Future Upgrade) A white and red (maybe red diagonal stripes on white background) acrylic backplate for the 750ti: Blue PCBs suck. Total: ~$1135 w/rebates, promos Everything has been ordered from SuperBiiz, Newegg, and Amazon. Amazon Prime stuff will come on Friday (12th). Other stuff is expected from Monday-Wednesday (15th-17th) next week. Hope you guys like it, nicon Table of Contents: Update 1: Package Delivery 1 (Amazon and 1/2 Newegg) - 6/12/15 Update 2: Package Delivery 2 (1/2 Newegg) - 6/13/15 Package Delivery 3 (Superbiiz) - ? Hey guys I'm new to the whole PC building scene and I was wondering if I could get some help from any veterans or experienced eyes. So this is my build right now ( http://pcpartpicker.com/p/YRX43C) what I'm aiming for is 1080p gaming at about 60fps at maxed settings on most games (not trying to max out witcher 3 lol). I've been saving enough money for a pc for about a year, and now with the money saved up I was wondering if anyone could take a look at it and add any comments or anything. Basically I just want to make sure that I'm not making any noob or rookie mistakes with my first build. So if you guys could help me out that would be great! I'm just a poor console scrub trying to make my way into the so called PC master race and if you guys could help me out with this transition I would be forever grateful!

Hello everyone! I've been a PC enthusiast for around 3 years so it was time to build a proper rig ! So to expain the title here comes a little backstory. I've been a PC enthusiast for around 3 years, but never really seemed to save up enough money for a beast enough rig. Now at last I had the opportunity to jump out and think "Heck, let's give it a chance". Codenamed "Greyscale", This build is supposed to be a combination of great parts, at both aesthetically but also performance wise. Some of you might go crazy about my spec selection, but as it was some of the components I thought fit well together. Enjoy! June 4. Recieved my first two parts of the build today! Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4 @ 2666 mhz & Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD. June 7. Unexpectedly as I was taking some B-Roll of my new RAM & SSD. I recieved two e-mails. My two next parts had arrived, let's start building a bit shall we? Install RAM into Motherboard, and enjoy the view. Time to Install the dust covers for all ports on the motherboard. Unbox dat case. B) Wait, why is the accessory box there? Ouch.. The case had taken some shipping damage, luckily it wasn't that bad. Time to install the motherboard which means I have to take out the port covers for the back I/O ports cause they don't fit through the I/O plate .. Fine I did it.. Well it's installed now! Let's do some light cable management..Well USB 3 cable says no. Time to install my trusty old HDD, using the best HDD sleds I've ever used. Hands down Phanteks! There we go. Now for the more exciting stuff, let's test out the lights on the case. I hotwired an old PSU from a Pentium 4 build I had lying around. And bam - there was light! So far so good people! I hope you've enjoyed this so far!

I've been building and repairing PC's as a hobby for 12 years now but for the last few years I've had this idea of wanting to wall mount and water cool all my game consoles and PC. I liked the idea of having everything in one place. I need to start off by saying that i'm completely aware there is no significant benefit to water cooling game consoles, please understand that its purely an aesthetic thing for me. I love the look of anything water cooled so lets face it, at this point water cooling a potato would look pretty good to me. I was living alone with a mortgage so this dream was financially out of reach for me, moving back home recently removed that obstacle and finally allowed me to realize my dream. All up the main bulk of the project took me a few weeks to complete but 100% completion took a couple of months, for some reason its the final little things that seem to drag and take up a lot of time. The project consists of an XBOX 360, PS3, PS4 and Intel/NVIDIA PC (i5-4670k/GTX 970). Thats all cooled by a Quad, Dual and single radiator with 2 D5 pumps pushing the coolant. I'm pretty happy with the end result though if one day I happen make a new 2.0 version of it there are a few things I would change. either way I hope you enjoy. It starts with a 2mm sheet of aluminium Test fitting begins Screwing in motherboard standoffs Marking out the PCI-E cable slots Cutting the slots Testing & Mounting xbox 360 mounted. PS3 Mounted Retrofitting an XSPC CPU waterblock on the PS4 Marking the XBOX 360 DVD Drive for cutting to expose dvd Mounting the PS4 Blu-Ray Drive Progress shot PS3 Control Board Mounted Desoldering and extending xbox 360 RF Module PCB Cutting & mounting xbox 360 RF module pcb Cutting xbox 360 dvd drive hole Radiators mounted, xbox dvd drive mounted. New Parts Have Arrived!!! Starting the Backlit Company Logos Undercoat Applied Perspex cut for logos Painting the perspex Painted the Logos White topcoat painted Logos mounted, board mounting begins. xbox mounted, ps4 started. PS4 power supply and blu-ray drive mounted, PS3 Mounted GTX 970 mounted Asus sabertooth mark S mounted More close up photos... Progress shot Fittings & Tubing installed. Tested the logos I made and realized there wasn't enough light shining through the paint. A few minutes of research later I found the Translucent perspex i needed to achieve the glowing look I wanted, purchased. Couldn't remove the vinyl logos I made off the perspex without damaging them so i got new ones professionally made with a much better result. stuck them on the new perspex I cut and wallahh! Wall mounts mounted and LED strip lights installed Testing time... Some glowing shots... At this point I couldnt find any more 7/16 clear tubing so I changed from barbed to 1/2 inch compression fittings and got new 1/2 inch tubing. Its complete More photos.... Ran a switch for the cooling system (pumps, fans, led strips) And this is where i finish....It was a long and fruitful journey..

Ok, so I will be building another PC which is hopefully going to be a beast for Gaming, was wondering if I can get some other peoples opinions on the specification and how well it will run high end pc games and maybe at the QHD resolution. Click HERE to view the parts. Thanks for the views and maybe it will change my mind about different parts.
