First desktop pc I've made/had after 10+ years of macbooks and consoles. Feels good! Built this because I wanted a small, powerfull and quiet pc. First build I've seen with atx psu and full length graphics card. Specs: i7 4790k Cryorig C1 with Fractal Venturi HF 140mm Asus z97i-PLUS 16gb Corsair Ram 1TB total ssd storage Corsair CS650m EVGA 980 ti SC+ Ncase M1 Originaly went for Msi 980ti Gaming 6G and it fit without modifications to the card itself, but the fans went haywire and RMA'd it and changed to EVGA one since it was rated as the quieter one. Soundlevels are dead silent, and acceptable when gaming. Temps normal use: Cpu - 40-50c Gpu - 45-60c During gaming: Cpu - 60c Gpu - 77c All powercables are custom made by Mundi at Icemodz He does great work and is really competative on price. . Now pictures of the build. Hope you like it.

Hi! Im planning to build my first computer ever. Im unsure if the coupons are a good mach togheter. I have seen x times whit people that build gaming PC’s and I think the build locks like its easy done, but im very unsure about the bios settings and all that. I planning to game 4K games at high/ultra high settings. Whit the Asus 27" LED G-Sync ROG SWIFT PG278Q So if you know about a good video that shows all that bios settings i will be happy if you link it. Another question, I have a bad computer from before whit 64 bit Windows 10 home on it, can I that just take that hhd from the old case to the new one? And that it will starts like normal? Another question because im a noob, do you think the ram will fit whit the gigantic CPU cooler? Also I planing to over clock so maybe I need a better CPU cooler, i happy for tips . Hi! So i have recently just gone from a pre-built HP Pro desktop to a custom built intel computer and though i would show a few pics of it off. My old HP pro had a quad core AMD chip (One of the laptop ones but built into a desktop, with 4gb ram, 500gb HDD, windows 8.1) was so horrible to game on! :'( I recently saved up, and finally got around to building a much bigger, and better one! and i couldn't be happier. Although, I am still in need of an SSD, and another 8GB ram. But that will come in due time i hope! Here are the current specs of my PC. Intel Core i5 4690K @ 3.5GHz ASRock Z97 Anniversary Socket 1150 7.1 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard Gigabyte GTX 970 OC WINDFORCE 3X 4GB GDDR5 8GB DDR3 RAM 500GB WD HDD Thermaltake Water 3.0 Performer C Universal Water Cooling System EVGA Supernova 750W Fully Modular 80+ Gold Power Supply Phanteks Enthoo Pro Black Full Tower Case with Side Window Fitting with SMD 50/50 RGB L.E.D lights(multi function etc) Razer Naga MMO gaming mouse. (17 buttons) 22" Widescreen LG monitor. CM-STORM blue back lit keyboard. 5.1 surround sound XENTA speakers. Hope you like what you see. and feel free to post a few of your's as i'd love to see them! Also, Linus, I love your videos, keep up the amazing work!

Hello guys, Thanks for coming over. I'm planning to build a desktop for about €1000-€1100 This is the list I had about in mind: Cpu: Amd Fx-9370 Gpu: Msi GeForce GTX 970 Gaming 4G Mobo: Msi 970 Gaming Ram: G.Skill TridentX Psu: Corsair CX750M Ssd: Kingston SsdNow V300 120GB Hdd: Seagate Desktop St2000DM001, 2TB Cpu-Cooler: Cooler Master GeminII M4 Case: NZXT 450 Noctis I'm just slightly wondering tho either it's actuerly a good idea to go with a air cooled cpu if you'r running Amd, Since the Fx-9370 is kinda overpowered when overclocked and can reach up to 5GHz (Not that I'm planning to go that high tho.). I was thinking either it'd better if i'd just pick up a basic AiO cooler. Also, with the noctis I'm planning to make it like the main piece of my room so Thats why I've chosen for the GeminII 4M because it's so nice and thin and won't block the viewing capability in the case. However!: If I'd go for the GeminII 4M, Would I defenetely need low profile Ram with the 970 Gaming? If not I think I could save some out there. If you have any ideas on how to improve this system, for the same amount of money or answers to my questions. Please, reply

Ok so here is my plan I am getting the x-carve by inventables and I was thinking that a fun project would be to build a wall mounted pc that would sit above it. So above it a quick sketch that I did of the basic layout of the project I am thinking that 4' x 4' would be a good size so that I can have plenty of room to mount things Here are so of my ideas so far: now all the graphics will be led back lit and removable so that you can change them by simply milling a new design and setting it in place all of the pc components will be set on acrylic and led edge lit 32" led 1080p monitor will be used and flush mounted into the main board front i/o panel w/ fan controller, usb 3.0 ports, audio ports, sd card reader all water cooling will be done with clear water blocks and hard line tubing with a triple 120mm rad I believe the main board will have to be cut using 4 different board and then joined after milling is complete on each board (I can only do 800mm x 800mm at a time on x-carve) Computer specs so far: Gigabyte gtx 960 2gb g1 gaming samsung 850 evo 250gb ssd 2x seagate barracuda 7200 rpm 3tb hdd tp-link wdn-4800 wifi card Now my question to you guys are: What do you think of the idea? Who would you improve on it? What do you dislike? What cpu, mobo, rad, res, psu should i use? I need serious help on making thr front i/o panel I am not sure where to start on this? Now I will be using the computer to run the x-carve and work in the design software so no gaming or nothing like that But I would like the components that I still need to be all matching in looks and kinda match the theme of the project with the led lights (color changing) and main board begin wrapped in carbon fiber vinyl thanks in advance

Hei guys, this are my rig Specs: Cpu: AMD fx-6300 6-core 3.5ghz 14mb of cache Gpu: SAPPHIRE R7-260x 2gb Oc edition Motherboard: ASRock 970 extreme3 R2.0 Ram:Crucial 4gb ddr3 x 2 Harddisk: 1tb Segate Barracuda Powersupply and case: Box CoolerMaster elite k250 + 500W Atx.- so, i have like 350$ , and i want to improve my rig... i know is kinda shitty, but at the time my budget was low... What do u guys think i can buy? like GPU(what about a gtx 960 2/4gb?)/CPU/SSD (Sorry for the bad english)
-
I'm a photographer/gamer and I built this rig so Adobe applications and games can run smoothly. A bunch of the parts are bought second-hand to save money so I can afford the GTX 980 Ti. CPU: i5 4670k (Used) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U12S This shot of the parts is incomplete. A bunch of stuff has not yet arrived like the Noctua CPU Cooler. RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury White 8GB (Used) SSD Boot Drive: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB (Used) Connected two cables to my GPU so it can have all the power it wants <3. HDD: WD Caviar Blue 1TB GPU: Palit GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB Super JetStream This is actually my second attempt at cable-management, which was a breeze to do in this case. CASE: Fractal Design Define R5 w/ Window (Titanium) PSU: SeaSonic M12II 850W I'll be real with you, the Noctua Fans actually look good. Case Fan: Silverstone AP121 120mm (Used) Case Fan: 2x Fractal Design SSR2 120mm (Used) Beautiful. Monitor: Dell u3014 (Refurbished) Keyboard: Corsair K65 (Used) I am now a firm believer of running a single big monitor rather than multiple smaller ones. Mouse: Razer Orochi Speakers: Creative SBS A350 2.1 After a decade of using computers, this is the first time I'm on a mechanical keyboard. It's a joy to type on even though it's Cherry MX Red. The 4000dpi sensor of my Orochi is still more than adequate. I can't imagine how people use upwards of 8000dpi sensors. Headphones: Bose QuietComfort 15 My desk is ready for the upcoming Battlefront game. All in all, I've saved around $800 because of buying things used/refurbished. I even went within my budget! With $10 to spare. I'm keeping that as funds for my future upgrades (Seagate 3TB and Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB) Nothing was defective but the motherboard still had its old settings running. So I had quite a lot of BSOD until I reverted it back to default and adding a bit more CPU voltage. Hi all, thought I'd share my finished PC with you all. This is my first ever build using acrylic tubing and I thought, "why not try acrylic tubing in a tiny case?" I've always loved the Corsair Air 240 and so the challenged began, how to fit all this hardware in a small case with hardpipe water cooling... Specs Case: Corsair Air 240 PSU: Corsair AX860i Motherboard: Asus Gene VII CPU: Intel Core i7 4790k Ram: 32Gb Corsair Platinum Dominator Graphics Card: MSI GTX970 System Disk: 2x Samsung 850 Pro 512Gb (Raid 0) Storage: 4Tb Western Digital Black CPU Waterblocks: EK-Supremacy EVO Radiator: EK-CoolStream XE 240 Reservoir: XSPC Photon 170 Pump: EK-DCP 2.2 X-RES Tubing: Monsoon Hardline Acrylic Tube Fittings: Monsoon Chain Gun Hardline Fluid: Mayhems Pastel - Ice White Coolant I sadly lost all the images from my SLR Camera as I dropped the SD card in a glass of soft drink However I was able to upload some of the images from my phone so sorry about the lack of quality of the actual build process Anyway hope you like it guys, let me know what you think as I'm tempted to start my next hardpipe build... just don't know what colour theme I should use...I'm thinking either green or purple, yep, purple

Hey, im new to computer building and the laptop I have is on its last legs and can berly run csgo on the lowest settings. My budget is 1000 can go a bit over or even under if possible. I have watched all sorts of videos to help try and understand what goes where and what i need. This is what I have gotten so far, http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/vMT3pg , I dont really care about over clocking as that is something i can do down the road. Not to sure if it is any good but most games i play are not to graphicly demanding ( that was beacause of my shity laptop) any help would be greatly apperciated, as your worst guess would be my best. Thanks EDIT: Thanks for the help everyone means a lot!

Hello there people of Linustechtips.com. I'm planning to build my first pc in the next week or so. I have spent a decent amount of time planning my build. Now, I'm not the most handy guy when it comes to computers so I had some friends help me out with the components. I did some research myself aswell and this is what I ended up wiht. Could you guys give some feedback on this? Is it al compatibel with each other? I want to play some fairly big games like GTA V on this PC. Thanks for your help! Hello people of linustechtips.com. My name is Tom and I'm planning to build my first pc but I'm new to it all. I want to play games at a decent framerate. Please rate the components I have chosen. If you have advice please tell me I can really use it . The components I have chosen are: Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO graphics card: MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G motherboard: MSI Z97 GAMING 5 Processor: Intel® Core™ i5 4690K 3.50 Ghz power: Fortron Hyper Series - 500 Watt case: Aerocool Aero-1000 RAM: Kingston HyperX FURY Black 8GB I have not chosen a hard drive yet, but I vind a SSD card too expensive. So I think I'll just get a normal hard drive of 500GB or 1TB. I'm going to be using windows 10 thanks for your help! sorry for the bad English

After many weeks of awaiting package deliveries and adding components here and there. My build is finally completed. The main thought about this case was to make beauty per buck. I'm a big fan of a black/white scheme, and therefore I've gone with what I could. This isn't directly a 'budget' build, but I did have limited funds due to me saving for college this spring. With that said, let's start with the past; I moved on from my old build inside a Phantom 410 case. Specs: i5-4690k(stock), Asus GTX 670, 8GB Kingston 1333Mhz, 1TB Seagate HDD, 240GB Kingston SSD, 64GB Corsair SSD, Corsair TX650M, MSI Z97 Gaming 3. (This is a picture I posted for the ad where I sold this old build for $500. It has an i5-2320 and is on an Asus Mobo. Hence also why the SSD and HDD ain't there. Isn't it gorgeous?? It may not seem like it at first, but I do care a lot about aestethics. The build above was purely made from value components and used hardware I could find online back when I was in high school. -------------------------------- The parts for this build weren't that difficult to pick. Intel and Nvidia is still the masterrace for me, and the i5-4690k is something I already had. Now do bare in mind that I had to buy some new parts where I could have used old ones instead, but selling an unfinished build is not the easiest. In my new puppy there is; Intel Core i5-4690K (Cooled by a Corsair H75) Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970 MSI Z97 Gaming 3 2x8GB HyperX Fury Black(really wish I had gotten the white ones, but the black were on sale :c) 2x240GB Kingston SSDNow in RAID-0 (these suck, I wish I had read up on reviews before buying them, and I am considering selling them for around $100 each and getting another 500GB SSD) 500GB Samsung EVO 850 Corsair RM750W NZXT H440 NZXT Grid+ Fan Controller And here she is! jk This is just the assembly after getting the case, PSU, RAM and GPU in the mail. I figured out pretty fast that I hated the look of the Gigabyte G1, and decided to give it a new look. After getting some paint over at our local car store me and my uncle(who's a mechanic) went painting(spoiler alert: we suk). Took around 6 hours to do. Sand papered the parts down after removing the GPU from the cooler. Followed by a wash in some alcohol, and then 3-4 layers before we were happy with the color. The new look of my GPU gave the build as a whole a positive lift(in my opinion). But that's not enough!! So, I went over to moddiy.com and ordered some custom sleeved cables, a few sata cables and some lights(the SSD mounts in this case are pretty difficult to use if you don't have the right cables, I ended up having to bend the power connector to my SSD's in a 60 degree angle, which I'm sure wasn't healthy for the cables nor the SSD. With that said, and 2 weeks later(such delivery, much wow) the cables arrived in the mail. I'm really happy with the outcome. Still wish I could have gotten another mobo, or gotten rid of the red light near the bottom left. --------------- Onwards we go, how does she perform? The overclock of both the CPU and GPU was relatively easy. Only 1.15V needed to keep the CPU stable at 4.5Ghz, and RAM at 2133Mhz. I usually push the GPU to 1520Mhz without any voltage to add. The computer is powering a 3x24" monitor setup, all at 1080p, with the middle monitor being at 144Hz. Here's a head to head comparison with the RAID-0 Kingston SSDNow on the left, and the Samsung 850 EVO on the right(I'm aware that due to the Samsung currently being empty, that may cause inaccuracies in my readings) It topped a Cinebench R15 score of 641, just below the i7-3770 Sorry for the bad images, I wasn't really planning to do a build log, so they were images I found. What do ya'll think?

Hey guys, This is my first big post since I really haven't had anything worthy of posting/saying, but I was pretty proud of this build and couldn't many Pandora builds online while planning it so I thought I'd share and see what everyone thinks. I need a smallish pc for college to fit on my desk in my dorm (incoming freshman), and I'm going to be editing 4k video so I needed something beefy inside but sleek and thin on the outside. I decided I'd go with the BitFenix Pandora (without the LED screen...without was on sale ;P) because in my opinion it's one of the sexiest cases out there. I didn't think it would be toooo hard to build in after watching reviews (hah) so I thought I'd give it a shot. HERE ARE THE SPECS INTERNALS Intel i7 5820k (oc'd @ 4.4Ghz) EVGA x99 mATX Motherboard 32 Gb Kingston HyperX Fury 2400 RAM EVGA Nvidia Titan X (Superclocked) w/ EK Acetal Full Cover Waterblock and Black Backplate Intel 730 Series 240GB SSD (Boot and Programs) Samsung 850 EVO 1TB SSD (Games and Editing Clips) 3 TB WD Black (Mass Storage and Extra Clips) EVGA SuperNova G2 850w PSU (Gold Certified) WATERCOOLING Raijintek Triton Waterblock/Res/Pump (Taken from the AIO) with Arcitc MX-4 3/8 ID x 1/2 OD PrimoFlex Advanced LRT Tubing (Clear) EK Acetal Waterblock and Black Backplate with Arctic MX-4 XSPC EX240 Radiator 4x Noctua NF-F12 Industrial Editions in Push/Pull 1x BitFenix Spectre White LED Fan (Top Exhaust) EK Black Compression Fittings (and standard Raijintek compression fittings for Triton) Peripherals / Extras Asus DVD/CD Write/Read Drive (External) ... My family has a ton of CD's so I need someway to get them onto Google Play Lexar Card Reader ROCCAT Ryos MK Pro (Cheery MX Blues) ROCCAT Kone Pure Optical ROCCAT Sense Mouse Mat Corsair Vengeance 2100 (without Tramp Stamp) Xbox 360 Wireless Dongle and Controller Genius 2.1 Speaker System (With 2 additional speakers, Idk where from but they are nice and punchy) Dell u3415w 3440x1440 Ultrawide IPS Curved Monitor 1 Long Strip BitFenix Alchemy Blue LED lights (Top of Window attached to Case) 1 Short Strip BitFenix Alchemy Blue LED lights (Underneath front SSD attached to Case) THE BUILD (pictures don't do it justice, it is much darker and deeper of a blue in person) So technically I did the main build a month ago before I bought the EK block and rad as I was waiting on some cash and was looking into the power of the Triton in a custom loop. To my shagrin, there was a lack of videos of the Triton being used with a GPU block, and only a few photos from some German posters. It makes sense because if you are going to do a custom loop, you might as well do a full custom loop with separate res and pump but space was definitely an issue for me (and I also wanted to try something new). After watching both Luke's video on the Pandora, as well as NCIX's and the Hardware Canucks videos, I assumed that all of the complaining about the side panels would be no issue, I have worked with bad panels in the past, and I thought with some good cable management and time, it would go off without a hitch....boy was I wrong. In the back of the case there is a very small groove cut out on the left side, in which you are to store all of your extra cables (as well as under the bay in the front where you mount your ssd. It took me many tries to figure out where the space was, as the cutout is only a few mm less that the rest of the back panel. any draping of cables across the back caused the side panel to not pop in properly, and even with the management I had to do (to fit 5 fans and splitters and pretty much everything else), the back panel will take a good amount of time to put back on if I ever have to take it off (why I couldn't take any pictures haha) After getting everything put together with the AIO, I noticed that the Triton's tubing as super kinky, and too long to not bend a bit, which prompted me to go at it on the custom loop. I took the AIO out to drain it, and then managed to find the specs of the tubing on the internet. The compression fittings on the triton are much smaller than the tubing, they work fine, but I was very uneasy filling the loop as I had to crank on them to make sure they wouldn't pop off (still fingers crossed they don't in the future). I added 2 more noctuas (that you can see inside the case) to the two I had pushing, and split the fan headers on the top of the motherboard, as the EVGA doesn't have enough in the right positions to fit my panel on the side. The EK block went on without a hitch, and the backplate looks soooooo good with the rest of the black components. The only issue I had hear was that the IO shroud/shield thing for the motherboard made it a very snug fit to but the graphics card in with a backplate. It doesn't bend once you get it in, and I wanted to keep the shroud because it looks great, but it may be too close for comfort for some, but really I guess this whole build is. I had a couple of issues with RMA's when getting my radiator and tubing (Do not ever buy from Performance PC's....they are absolutely terrible) the Black Ice 240mm rad I bout was slightly too wide, so the mounting holes didn't line up with the rails on the front of the case, so I went with the XSPC Rad because it has good performance and was the closest size wise to the original Triton one. I wanted to swap out the rad because the Triton one was aluminum throughout...to get some frustration out from Performance PC's I kinda smashed it (the Triton one)....which weirldy enough made it smell super bad (will look into it in the future). I also broke a 3tb wd black by snapping off the plastic piece that holds the data sata pins be very careful if you use this case and install a mechanical on top because there will be some strain on the connectors if you want a clean look. Overall I am extremely happy about how this build ended up in the end. I don't have temps yet as I am waiting for everything to settle in, but I'll post them after a day or two. I'd love to hear what you guys think of the build as it is my first watercooling project, any tips and suggestions are definitely welcome! Thanks! -T.K. (xyz25 / Xyzizzle)

Hey! So I need some advice on my newly built pc. It is complete but I want to add on to it around xmas aka black friday and cyber monday. Current build: Motherboard: ASUS Z97-E LGA 1150 Intel Z97 CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K Devil’s Canyon Quad-Core 4.0GHz LGA 1150 GPU: EVGA GTX 980ti RAM: 2x corsair vengeance 8gb DDR3 (16gb total) PSU: EVGA 220-G2-0850-XR 80 PLUS GOLD 850 W CPU Cooler: Corsair hydro series H110i GT Storage: SSD: Samsung 850 EVO (250 GB) HDD: Western Digital Blue (1TB) Case: Phantek Luxe I want to add a 2nd EVGA GTX 980ti. So I have a few question. I will be adding a asus rog swift or an acer predator XB270HU monitor for the g-sync. I plan on playing it on 1440 and run most if not all games on ultra setting for next few years. With adding 2nd gtx 980ti, should i get the evga sli brigde v2 or will the one with the motherboard be good enough? Should I change to a better motherboard because I know mine isn't the best (specifically no wifi and no where near top of the line)? Finally with the addition of the 2nd GPU and potentially a new motherboard should I get a different PSU that has more watts than the 850w I currently have? Please help, I'm still new at building my own pc as this is the first pc I've built.
