  1. Hi guys this is going to be my third build and I decided since I'm coming in to a nice financial state, to make an enthusiast grade modded PC. My base line is off the X99 chipset and the newly released Gtx 980 cards. This will all center around the use and look of copper tubing and water cooling components. What I have quasi determined is as follows: Case: Cooler Master haF stacker 935 +915R Mobo: msi x99 XPOWER CPU : I7 5930K (For those pcie lanes ) Gpu : 2x refrence GTX 980's sli PSU : Evga 80+ plt 1000w modular Strg: 126 m.2 ssd(OS) 256 ssd 3tb hdd Optl: random blu Ray writer Colg: assortment of Cooper rads water blocks and tubing and a standered d5 pump. This will be my first time using anything other than a closed loop cooler or air heat sink so I decided caution to the wind and go for glory. I would be appreciative of any feedback, criticism, ideas for esthetic design of case mod options this build will hopefully completed by q3 next year so as to kick my face in when skylake is released.
  2. Hello! This is my first build log on the LTT forum. I'm currently still planning this as i go but I'm working on it almost every day. I have a Cooler Master HAF X case that I am modding and painting. I chose green and blue for the case colors as those are the colors of Nvidia and Intel, and for the fact that my current build is all red with no AMD parts what so ever. Nothing against AMD, i just like the competition better Anyways, I am going with a full water cooling loop (acrylic tubing with green coolant), sleeving the cables (green and black), etc. Everything I possibly can to make this pc build as customized as possible. I already have most of the parts for this as i am 'recycling' my current pc with some upgrades as well. BTW i use my PC mostly for gaming, but i also do video editing / screen recording and 3D design for my 3D printer. Here are my specs: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/7rYqwP I'll have some pictures of the case so far up later today. Thanks for looking! -- EDIT: Pictures posted below --
  3. Currently im planning on building a PC for my girlfriend and the budget is fairly low (around 420000 CLP // 716.52 USD) and the build has to include a gaming mouse a cheap keyboard and a cheap monitor, and i wanted to show you guys what i have planned so far and maybe get some new ideas Intel® CPU Pentium G3240 3.1 GHz (1150) ------------------------------------------- $44.990 CLP // ~$76.75 USD (...is it gonna bottleneck too much an r7 250 gddr5?) ECS® M/B Intel H81H3-M4 A/L/V (1150) ----------------------------------------------- $36.990 CLP // ~$63.10 USD (PCI Express X16 Gen 2.0 should not bottleneck an r7 250 at all) G.Skill® DDR3 4GB 1333Mhz PC3-10600 --------------------------------------------- $45.990 CLP // ~$78.45 USD Sapphire® Video AMD Radeon R7 250 1024MB GDDR5 -------------------------- $69.990 CLP // ~$119.40 USD (for light gaming at 900p ...we play TF2 and L4D2 together a lot) Toshiba® HDD 500GB Sata3 7200 rpm 32MB --------------------------------------- $39.990 CLP // ~$68.22 USD (she currently uses a 320gb 5400 RPM HDD and has never filled it) Spektra® Case ATX 650w 5851 BS ---------------------------------------------------- $21.990 CLP // ~$37.51 USD (the idea here is to swap the PSU for a 500W PSU that i currentñy have on my system...) Thermaltake® PSU 650w / 12cm 80Plus Bronze Smart ---------------------------- $59.990 CLP // ~$102.34 USD (...and put this one on my system and maybe sell for really cheap the 650W PSU that comes with the case) AOC® Monitor LED 20" E2070SWN ---------------------------------------------------- $57.190 CLP // ~$97.56 USD (cheap 900p monitor) Logitech® Mouse Gaming G400s ------------------------------------------------------- $24.990 CLP // ~$42.63 USD (she really really wants this mouse) Microsoft® Keyboard MS 200 Black USB --------------------------------------------- $9.990 CLP // ~$17.04 USD TOTAL ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- $412100 CLP // ~$703.04 USD So what do you guys think? Any ideas or useful comments? What about buying via internet for cheaper and then paying for shipping? is it worth it? i took the prices from the only (or at least biggest) computer store in my city (Concepcion, Chile) ...yeah, technology is expensive in the south Link to the store https://www.pcfactory.cl/
  4. After many years of building computers then modding them, I finally decided to both grow the cahonas to spend the money on a custom loop and to bring myself to setting it all up I first started this build about a year ago with an AMD 8350 and Sabertooth mobo, and SLI 760's but since then have done a lot of moving around, and this is my PC's final shape! SPECS: Intel i7 4790k @ 4.7Ghz 1.25V -CPU EVGA GTX 780 SC- GPU @ 1350 Core / 3350 Memory (+300/+300 using Skyn3t vBios ) ASUS Maximus VI Formula- MOBO 12Gb 2400Mhz TridentX - RAM 250GB Evo 840 Pro- SSD 1TB Western Digital Blue- HD Corsair HX 850 -PSU Corsair 600T -Case Liquid Cooling Components: EKWB: 140Mm- Reservoir Black Top - Pump Top Clear CSQ - Cpu Block XSPC: EX240 -Radiator Razor- GPU Block Fans: Corsair SP12 Fans ( Back exhaust, Radiator exhaust) BitFenix Spectre Pro 240MM Green LED Front Fan This was my first custom loop attempt, and I am more than happy with it, not only did it work right off the bat, but IT LOOKS AWESOME! This would have been one of the first mods I have done on the case, nothing special, but it did reduce the "screaming sound" the 600T used to make with me Next mod up was to cut out the top of the 600T as the radiator wouldn't fit on the inside due to motherboard clearance Ladies and Gentlemen , we have cooling components! Maximus VI Formula custom shield paint job ( Paint is UV reactive ) EVGA Backplate successfully installed on XSPC Razor 780 Block .. Sprayed green of course Little adjustments to the loop for better tubing lengths! Now the nerve racking part... Seeing if all your troubles were worth the time! Great Success! GPU OC Settings FireStrike Test
  5. Hello everyone! I would like to begin by stating that this is a work in progress and in no way complete. That being said, I feel like it is ready for some much needed peer review. So without further adieu, hear is the build. The heart of the project is my trusty gaming rig containing an FX-8350 and an R9-290 reference with Kraken g10 watercooling bracket. Both are watercooled with 120mm AIO coolers. 8 gigs of Hyper x 1600 ram, Corsair TX750 PSU, and a Sabertooth 990fx r2.0 mobo round out the rest of the specs. The mediocre hardware is only the beginning though. Over the last two weeks I have been building a custom workstation in my spare time. The project began with a dream I had about 3 weeks ago, then about a week of research went into the design. Based loosely on the Emperor 200/submodels, It features overhanging monitor mounts lifted by an electric actuator, actuator controlled desk area, and a remote pc power button. I still have lots of cable management to take care of as well as some sleeving. Let me know if you have any questions, comments, concerns, or sugguestions! Thank you, Torq47 P.s. Please excuse the mess.
  6. YOYOMAH YOYOMAH is middle grade gaming/performance desktop. The entire project costs were $650-$800 on my part as some of the components were sponsored. The PC will be overclocked on the CPU and GPU. I'm targeting to get 1400 out of my 1200 card and 200-500 out of my CPU depending on which one I get.The CPU I have right now is just a Pentium for $40 that I will be using to set up all the other components while I wait for my i3 to arrive. Update #1 - Painting the case fans Update #2 - Adding NZXT Kraken CPU Cooler Update #3 - CPU and RAM Update #4 - Push Pull Radiator Update #5 - Second Graphics Card Update #6 - ENTIRE REVISION OF DESIGN (ITX case) UPDATE #7 - NEW GPU

    Dream Talk

Let's talk about out dreams. I'll start: I had a dream I ruled the galaxy, with a loli army.
  8. Just finished migrating my hardware to a Corsair 780T, AND I LOVE IT! it has its flaws but im more than satisfied with it! ^^ Specs: INTEL I7 3770K with a Corsair H105 ASUS Maximus V Formula 2x MSI GTX 670 Power Edition Corsair Dominator 16GB 1600Mhz DDR3 Samsung 840 250GB 2x WD RED 2TB
  9. R2D2 Was built for video and picture editing and gaming. Reason for building was my 7 year old macbook died a slow death. This was my first time building a PC, and it was a lot of fun . CPU: I chose the 5930k over the 5820k for more pcie lanes (40x) CPU Cooler: I chose the H220x because i plan to include the graphics card in the loop and I'm a noob. If I would have waited a little longer I would have gone with the H240x and all 140mm fans but they did not do any sort of advertising for it at all and I had no idea it was coming out. (Image was corrupted) Thermal Compound: Because you need it. Motherboard: This choice was a vain one, I liked the streamline look of the Deluxe and wanted a white build. Not to mention the amount of expandability. Memory: This too was a vain choice. I've been watching videos of computer builds for a couple years now and have always wanted the Dominator Platinums. And hey, DDR4 so yeah. SSD/HDD: I chose the 850 Pro because of the 3d v-nand technology and the 450-500mbps transfer rates, and I chose the SSHD because I was curious about the technology and performance. Graphics Card: I chose the 780 6GB DDR5 because of the amount of memory and it performs adequately. Not to mention I entered it into the EVGA STep-Up Program so within a month or two I will ship it in and get it swapped for a GTX 980 ACX 2.0 for the difference in the two cards + shipping costs. Case: I chose the Enthoo Luxe because LED's. And because I like the look of Phanteks cases and windows (unfortunately mine was scratched on the inside due to little to no effort to tie down the accessory box so it was flailing around inside the whole way here) Another thing that happened was the front panel that goes over the fan grill has standoffs that you screw into to hold it there. Two of the four standoffs came off in shipping and were attached to the screws that were supposed to hold it there. I removed the standoffs with a pair of pliers and epoxied them back to the front fan grill panel. It's now solid as a rock but still unfortunate it happened. And also it matches my motherboard "luxe" and "deluxe" Power Supply: I had originally bought a Corsair AX860i Power supply from Newegg, but upon arrival I cut through the cellophane and got into the box and noticed there was a sticker that said "if sticker is damaged please check contents before acceptance." The sticker had been completely and obviously torn off and re-stuck. So I RMA'd it for a refund and drove to micro center the next day to pick up the EVGA 1000w P2. I chose this power supply because EVGA has great customer service and its more than overkill for upgrades. OS: Windows 8.1. Meh. Also looking forward to Windows 10. Case Fans: I will never again buy Corsair SP or AP fans (the ones with the rubber corners at least) Because I didn't even tighten the screws down all the way flush to the case before the rubber corner wrenched itself out of its holding and was physically impossible to replace the way it was. I had to drive to micro center (again) to get one fan. Which turns out the LED versions of the AF quiet editions have no rubber corners so I was happy. Also the rest are all Noctua fans because I wanted good PWM controllable fans for the H220x and matching fans for the front. Keyboard: I am using an $8 walmart keyboard to type this, I will be purchasing a keyboard in the near future. I've been looking at razer keyboards but I want to try the Cooler master Novatouch keyboard. I haven't decided. Mouse: I had the Razer Naga already and its by far my favorite mouse I've ever used. Headphones: I chose the Astros because I was a console nerd before I realized PC was the master race, and it's cross compatible with all of my systems. PLANNED UPGRADES: Another 850 Pro in raid 0 for the boot. GTX 980 ACX 2.0 (as stated previously). Perhaps another 980 in the distant future. First adding the graphics card(s) into the H220x loop, then a full custom loop. Swapping all fans for 140mm fans (and 140mm radiators respectively) A decent keyboard. I've been a big fan of LTT ever since the 1366 socket days. Four years ago back when Linus still was working at NCIX and doing videos at work. My favorite videos of him were always the Personal Rig updates. Dunno, for some reason I was always interested in what he used as he would release small tips/tricks here or there. (Must be why the channel is named (Linustechtips, but that's besides the point). Most of the PC junk I have bought was because of Linus so thanks for the giant hole in my wallet. My rig isn't as extravagant as some of the rigs up here. It's my daily driver and all my upgrade/entertainment money went into building my brother a rig. Still on the z77 platform and I'm STILL extremely happy with it. I'm not a big believer in upgrading every year or so. However, maybe I'll upgrade to a 6-core one of these days when DDR4 prices drop to what DDR3 prices were during the 1155 days. Parts justfication Radiator pictures Dremmel cuts Pre-GPU waterblock
  11. For years I dreamed of building my own computer and being able to experience buttery smooth gaming. A short while ago I realized that dream with Red Demon. My previous computer had an i7 860 and a 7770 (upgraded from a 5770). Build Specifications: Intel i7 4790k OC'ed to 4.8Ghz Asus GTX 780 Ti Direct CU II Asus Maximus Hero VII 16GB Corsair Vengeance PRO 2400Mhz Corsair H100i CPU Liquid Cooler Corsair AX860i 80+ Platinum NZXT H440 Kingston 256GB HyperX SSD Western Digital 2TB Black Drive 6x Corsair SP 120 Quiet High Static Pressure Fans 2x Bitfenix Alchemy Red LED Strips Here are some pictures covering post-build and glamour shots. Sorry for the shitty camera quality.
  12. Hi, This build will be primarily for gaming, but I will be also be using it for a little bit of render work. I've decided to discard my last build plan as I wanted something with a bit more space and airflow and so that's why I went for a bigger 450D. I'm trying to keep this around $1500 AUD. It'd be great if you guys could give me any tips and suggestions for parts as I'm still yet to decide on a few. Thanks PARTS (NOT FINAL) CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K CPU COOLER: Corsair H100i MOTHERBOARD: MEMORY: Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1600 16GB (2x8) STORAGE: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB STORAGE: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB FANS: 2x Corsair AF140 Quiet Edition LED Fans and a Corsair AF120 Quiet Edition Fan GPU: PSU:
  13. I would like to welcome you all to The Standard. This is a build I have had in the works for a while. Three months of planning and one day of buying have brought me to this. Some parts are new, some are old. Some will be upgraded soon. Some will not. But you will all have to wait and see! First off, let's list specs. Intel Core i7 4790K [4.0GHz, 4 Cores, 8 Threads] Corsair H100i [Push/Pull] ASUS Z97-Pro [WiFi a/c] 16GB Crucial Ballistix Sport [1600MT/s] 256GB Crucial MX100 1TB Seagate Barracuda Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 Windforce X3 [1189MHz, 7000MHz, 2GB] Corsair Carbide Air 540 [black/Black] Cooler Master Silent Pro M 700W [80Plus Bronze] Now, let me explain here. There will be someone who will have the itching suspicion in the back of their head that I do not need an i7. And for the most part, you would probably be correct. But, I do some stuff that may require a lot more CPU horsepower in the future. I would like to do more BOINC, I am definitely going to be picking up new games which can leverage the extra threads and I do Photoshop work as well. Also, I am looking to run some VMs, so that will come in handy. Next, the GPU. I love it. It does almost everything I need it to do. But the 2GB frame buffer will soon become stuffy and I will need more. So, I have planned in the future to go for dual GTX 970s. Which ones? I don't know yet. Maybe DirectCU II if ASUS would actually do that again instead of STRIX. But that is for another time. To the build, first off, I am happy to have an SSD again. I timed my most recent boot at 4.8 seconds. And to have more capacity there is nice as well, so I can store my most played games there for faster load times. Next, I am happy to have a rig that undeniably looks good. The Node was a nice case, but the build was ugly. As was Mil-Spec. But the Air 540 and it's cable management opportunites allow for a beautiful setup here. But why am I talking about this so much? Let's have some pictures!
  14. The [insert Name here] Build Log | Work In Progress and yes, that is the name(i think) Basicly my current specs are the following: Bitfenix Shinobi XL ASRock Fatal1ty H87 Performance Intel Xeon E3-1230V3 G.Skill RipjawsX 1600/CL7 MSI GTX 760 Sandisk Extreme II 120gb Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 It looks like this and i admit, its damn ugly lol Because i hate the looks of it, i plan on rebuilding the system until summer. Here are my potential Upgrades (They are most likely to change) The Case is most likely to change, since its just too big for what i need it to do. Im thinking of going the mATX route, since im going to a few lan partys later this summer. Not mITX since you cant SLI with it and i am really thinking of adding a second 760. The cases im considering are: -The Xigmatek Aquila mATX Case German Link: http://www.amazon.de/Xigmatek-Aquila-Micro-ATX-Geh%C3%A4use-Fenster/dp/B00GU2TJHM/ref=sr_1_23?ie=UTF8&qid=1396979233&sr=8-23&keywords=mini+atx+window+geh%C3%A4use UK Link: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Xigmatek-Aquila-Micro-ATX-Geh%C3%A4use-Fenster/dp/B00GU2TJHM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1396986037&sr=8-2&keywords=Xigmatek+aquila+matx US Link: (Can't find it anywhere on amazon.com, will add Link if i see it on there) -The Bitfenix Prodigy M German Link: http://www.amazon.de/BitFenix-Prodigy-Tower-Mini-ITX-BFC-PRM-300-KKXSK-RP/dp/B00EKS9BQM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396986259&sr=8-1&keywords=Bitfenix+Prodigy+m UK Link: http://www.amazon.co.uk/BitFenix-Prodigy-schwarz-ohne-Netzteil/dp/B00EKS9BQM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396986291&sr=8-1&keywords=bitfenix+prodigy+m US Link: http://www.amazon.com/BitFenix-Mini-ITX-Without-Midnight-BFC-PRO-300-KKXSK-RP/dp/B008RJQ0LE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396986315&sr=8-1&keywords=bitfenix+prodigy Considering my current Motherboard is an ATX one, i will need to buy a new motherboard. For the choice of Motherboards, i havent got really that many. Its basicly come down to one which is the: -Gigabyte GA-Z87MX-D3H German Link: http://www.amazon.de/Gigabyte-GA-Z87MX-D3H-Mainboard-micro-ATX-Speicher/dp/B00D5F4XC8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396979434&sr=8-1&keywords=Gigabyte++GA-Z87MX-D3H UK Link: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gigabyte-Z87MX-D3H-Motherboard-4thGeneration-Processors/dp/B00D5F4XC8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396986464&sr=8-1&keywords=Gigabyte+GA-z87mx-d3h US Link: http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-1150-mATX-Motherboard-GA-Z87MX-D3H/dp/B00CU4L4XG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396986503&sr=8-1&keywords=Gigabyte+ga-z87mx-d3h This is the only Motherboard that really fits my needs, its SLI compatible, Z87 Chipset (I know i cant overclock the Xeon, i kind of trust the Z87 Chipset more than the other ones though) and has a really nice looking matt-black PCB. CPU Coolers i`ve thought of upgrading to: I know the Xeon doesnt get hot, i really like the looks of a closed Loop watercooler though, that would be important in the case of the Xigmatek Aquila since it has a Window and thats the case im liking more ATM. The Cooler(s) im considering: -The Corsair H100i German Link: http://www.amazon.de/Corsair-Extreme-Performance-Wasserk%C3%BChler-CW-9060009-WW/dp/B009ZN2NH6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396986768&sr=8-1&keywords=Corsair+H100i UK Link: US Link: http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Series-Extreme-Performance-Liquid/dp/B009ZN2NH6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396986805&sr=8-1&keywords=Corsair+h100i The Corsair H80i (Links comming soon, too much work at my tablet though) In recent Months, im working more and more with Photo and Video Editing. 15. Project Impracticality Introduction So my sister got a new laptop to replace her (this) super slow 8 year old iMac. Me being me, I decided that I would take the computer and do something crazy with it, instead of it just being thrown out. Of course before I could do anything crazy, I had to dismantle the damn thing first, which is the main topic of this first post. That ended up being harder than I would have liked, but it was infuriating enough to make me give up. What I plan to do with it Yeah, about that. I have no idea what the hell I should do. I have parts to a slightly less old computer (7 years instead of 8) lying around and I figured I might cut some holes in the thing to fit them, get a video card for it, and a new display that I can easily take apart to use in the build. After I came up with that idea, some crazy thoughts of water cooling popped into my mind. That would mean cutting holes to fit a radiator, which would probably be sticking out at a 15-25 degree angle to go with the curve of the back of the case. In order to deal with the limited space, tubing would pop out of the back to go to other semi or non exposed parts. If I were to do that, the theme would probably be blue and white or white and grey/chrome. That probably won't happen due to the fact that I have no experience with custom loop water cooling and don't have a gazillion dollars to buy all of the parts. i would have no objections if anybody wanted to give me parts. Btw, the parts function and I might be copying the data off of the 250 gig HDD for use in a hackintosh type thing. IF YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS THAT ARE REASONABLE PLEASE TELL ME ABOUT THEM, I NEED INSPIRATION How I will use it I probably will have it be a second computer in my room for my friends to use if they come over (co-op gaming) or will put it in the basement for anybody to use. In the case that I do water cool it (which I want to happen, but I doubt ever will) then it will be kept in a place where nobody can touch it or even look at it without my permission. This probably won't be used that often, if ever. So then why the hell are you doing this in the first place? My main reason is simply "why not?" and my secondary reason is that I want to gain some major modding experience with plastic and it does not really matter if I mess this up due to the fact that the iMac was going to never be used again. i also just want to have some fun while feeding my addiction to doing shit with computers. Also I got a new toolkit recently and wanted to use it, Parts Um.. there aren't any besides the shell of an iMac. When I am sure what I will be using, then I will update this or just put it in a new post. The old parts I could be using are: An AMD Athlon X2 5600+, 3 GB of DDR2 RAM, some terrible OEM board from HP, a 500 gig WD Green drive, and some crappy stock cooler. LOOK IN THE UPDATE FOR PARTS!!! Updates: 1. 21/6/2014 - Small Parts/Design Update 2. 11/10/14 - About this Build's Future On to the Teardown! Some Pictures of the Toolkit ^ This is the box it came in ^ ^ This is what is inside of the kit. ^ ^ These things are the "Security" bit set, "Precision" bit set with screwdriver and other thing, and the ratcheting screwdriver with a compartment to hold the bits in. ^ Pictures of the iMac Before the Teardown ^ Yes, this thing has/had mini DVI and 2 firewire ports. ^ Now for the Teardown! ^ First thing off is the memory bay cover. ^ ^ This is the 2 x 1 gig kit of RAM that was in before I dismantled it (used to be 1 gig). ^ ^ Getting the front bezel off was by far the hardest part of the entire ordeal. It involved shoving things into the rear vent in order to release 2 latches which was a royal pain in the ass. ^ ^ Apple really knows how to place screws in just the right place to piss me off. ^ ^ Fist look at the components. The ones visible are the 2 speakers, the north bride, chipset/south bridge, wireless card, 2 fans, and a few which I can not name. ^ ^ The wiffy card (yup, i said it) ^ ^ One of the 2 speakers. ^ ^ IR thingy ^ ^ First look at the insides. ^ ^ The screen is off. ^ ^ Now the HDD is too. ^ ^ No idea what the hell this is. ^ ^ A proper view of the inside w/o the HDD and other daughter board thing. ^ ^ The motherboard is out! Im pretty sure the CPU is a Core 2 Duo and the GPU is an ATI X1800m or something like that. ^ ^ Having to remove 7 torx screws at a retarded angle made me begin to hate the people who designed this. ^ ^ It is finally off. ^ ^ The back seems so much larger than before due to the fact that it no longer has a screen. Here it is in relation to a basketball. ^ ^ After much annoyance, the DVD drive is finally removed. I think Apple should win an award for worst screw placement because they thought that it would be a good design choice to make one of the screws completely impossible to reach.^ ^ This is the frame that everything is attached to inside the computers. ^ ^ Here is the PSU, which is rated at 185 watts. ^ ^ TIme to disassemble the stuff on the rear of the screen. ^ ^ This is the cable that hooks the screen up to the motherboard. Its flatness is ridiculous. ^ ^ The main board on the screen. I did not remove it as there is a possibility of me using the screen again. ^ ^ Here is the shell put back together to show what it is like empty. ^ The shell of the iMac is now being used as an over-glorified HDD stand This is how many screws I had after disassembling it Any and all feedback/ideas for what to do are greatly appreciated!
  16. Parts list: AMD FX8350 Asus m5a99fx pro r2.0 2x4gb Corsair Vengeance pro 1333mhz R9270x Gigabyte oc windforce Cooler master hyper 212 evo Cs 750m WD Caviar Blue 1tb Samsun 840 evo 120gb Fractal Design Define r4 Windows 7 ALBA LCD19880hdf The build went to plan, my only concern was that i had to apply quite a lot of pressure to the hyper 212 evo to fit the screws when placing the heat sink over the cpu. I first only plugged the SSD in because i didn't want to install my os on the HDD. once the os was installed i plugged it back in; it was recognized but didn't come up as a drive letter. i later found that i have to assign it to drive letter. The drivers were slightly difficult to install as the screen cut off about 1/16 of the bottom of the page. i had to use a lot tab and enter, trial and error. once i had the graphics drivers installed it worked fine but the search bar and tabs on chrome are tiny and so is the whole ui on steam. it is near impossible to read. any solutions to this would be greatly appreciated. I did not buy a h100i as i don't have the money right now but for people asking, there is enough room for a h100i and 1 set of fans internally although you many have to run the 8/6 pin fro another cable management socket. Thnx, Brit,

  19. The ending of Inception, was it all dream?
  20. So I was sleeping and had this wonderful fan boy dream where it start of like this I was in my room with my brother and was just walking around where then I saw this ambulance driving across the road in front of this apartment building which I saw through a window where then I saw a Aston martin where James may was inside and I got excited and crazy and also I saw the others but forgot what were they were driving or where were they So then suddenly I rushed to the Tardis (doctor who’s time machine) and went back few minutes and I popped up in my dad’s car driving with my friend/neighbor,where I told him I am waiting for an event to happen and asked him if he wants to do something to pass the time then suddenly I saw the ambulance parked at the end of the road and it started to move so I hit the gas pedal hard and we were going head to head where I parked between 2 cars and I almost crashed them and almost got a dent and I reversed Then I popped out of the car with my brother’s blue Lenovo laptop (I got no idea how that got three ) and I hit it against the wall mistakenly because I was running into it and I was like nooooo! Then it got undo-ed by the dreamerater and so that didn't happen. So that’s when I saw this Chinese or Japanese guy who was driving by in an another car and I mistook him for James may and went fan boy crazy Then that’s when I saw James may, Richard hammond, jeremy, going down the road while James driving a Aston martin and Jeremy driving…….something I can't remember but Hammond was walking with some other people and I ran and went all fan boy crazy again I was like aaaaaah~ and said things like I can see Richard Hammond!! In front of me in real life!!! And I started to shake his hand and went like I am touching Richard Hammond’s hand and then I was talking to him and called him James because I forgot his name and I went like sorry I mixed up your names and then he said he is like the hot wind and I finished his sentence and said and James is like the cold wind That’s when he was going to give me a souvenir or something from a mysterious bag and told me to follow him  . THE END (that’s when the dream shut down) and I woke up with a happy face after a long time and that dream made my day Did anybody else have any interesting dreams today?
  21. Case - Bitfenix Prodigy (White) Motherboard - Asus Maximus VI Impact CPU - Intel Haswell i5 4670k GPU - Gigabyte Windforce GTX 760 Memory - G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8Gb (2x4gb) Storage - OCZ Vertex 460 Series 120gb SSD (Boot Drive) - 1TB Western Digital HDD CPU Cooler - Corsair H60 Liquid Cooler PSU - Corsair HX650 80 Plus Gold OS - Windows 8.1 OEM Optical Drive - Asus DVD/CD Writer Front Fan - Bitfenix Spectre Pro 200mm Mouse - Corsair M65 with matching MM400 mouse mat Keyboard - Logitech G710+ Mechanical with cherry mx brown switches So this build has been done for about a month now but just yesterday I finally finished the modded side panel, and its started to look really badas* IMO. The cutout isn't top quality but it sort of gives that homemade look to it which I really enjoy. I gave the trim to the side window a black coat of paint to sort of go with the black trim on the front of the case. I do plan on modding the front of the case as well, because the front 200mm I feel doesn't have access to enough air. I have no thought of an easy way to do this yet but if anyone has any ideas i'm very open to them. This is my first build AND mod after days and weeks of research so let me know what you guys think! - Thanks!
  22. Alright here it goes. You may or may have not seen the planning phase of this where I presented you guys with my idea. Link here The basic Idea is to build my Designers Dream Workstation dubbed „The beautiful Workhorse“. It is not gonna be used to play the latest gaming titles but to allow me be as productive and good at my job as I can be. But while doing that also be as nice looking and quite as is possible because it will be an important part of my life as I have to sit many hours beside it and even if Im not working it will stand as a main piece of the room. Anyway...Now it's beginning. Here you have the Parts List again for reverence. Case: NZXT Phantom 530 Black CPU: Intel i7 4770K CPU Cooling: NZXT Kraken X60 Cooling Fans: 2x 140mm Noiseblocker BlackSilent Pro PK2 Case Fans: 1x 200mm BitFenix Spectre white LED as Front intake, 1x 140mm BitFenix Spectre white LED as front intake and 1x 140mm BitFenix Spectre white LED as rear exhaust Motherboard: MSI MPower Z87 Graphic: MSI GeForce GTX 770 Lightning-Edition RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16 GB DDR3-1866 2*8 Kit PSU: Corsair RM Series 750W SSD: Samsung 840 Pro 256GB Storage: Western-Digital Green 2T Day 1: "In that case..." - See below. Day 2: „You can't always get what you want..." Day 3: "Its so easy!" Day 4: "Its just like Christmas..." Day 1: "In that case..." The first and most important piece has arrived just yesterday. A very nice NZXT Phantom 530 case in black. Still hiding the bugger Unboxed but still shy the beast. And here it is in all its glory. I have to say I am quite impressed by the thing. It may have to do with the fact that I didn't see many such nice build PC Cases for quite some time (ie ever) but the quality and level of production design of this case just amazes me. And now that I am seeing it in person right in front of me I have to say I really dig the Phantom design! Pictures don't do it justice...Its sleek, spacious and just plain impressively beautiful in my eyes... Alright I will stop now blabbering on about how it looks Now you see I do want to modify the case a good bit So the first thing after I stopped glaring at it for a while was stripping it down. (oh my this is getting worse...) Alright lets keep it together here. I disassembled the thing to look how good it would be to mod, paint and such. And I was very pleased to see that most any parts are easily removed or are just screwed in place. especially parts of the trim and front I/O are very easy to disassemble. So it will be easy to prepare the single parts for painting later on. Also I quite like how spacious it is inside. I took out all the HDD racks instantly as I will be using just an SSD for the OS and the important programs and an 2TB scratch disk which I can hide easily away. All other data will be stored and backed up separately Now I will have to find a Paint Shop who will and can do what I wanna do with the case. I want to have it painted it in a real nice matte black. Also I'm going to mod the side panel to have a single big window inspired by the angled CPU cutout on the motherboard tray. A bit like this: And I don't really know if I can do this kind of metal work myself...I much likely be screwing it up somehow and ruin the case... For me this is kind of a big decision to paint the case because I want to have It done perfectly. So I will see maybe I will set it up first and do the painting later on. So we'll see... Oh and I also got the nice sleeved white LED strip from NZXT. And look was the shop put in the little box as well. With something like this you know Its gonna be a good day I hope you are at least a bit as excited as I am ^^ I will keep you guys updated as soon as the next parts arrive. Hopefully next week tho.
