Here's a PC build that I've been longing to build for the past 4 years, and the parts list has changed a lot over the course of 3 years. Until I finish this build, I will have been doing everything I've been doing on a meager laptop, called the Sony Vaio Probook Duo 13, with Intel HD 4400 integrated GPU, and an i5 4200u, and 8gb of ram. I know it's horrible . I can barely manage 30 FPS on easily played games like CS:GO and TF2, on LOW SETTINGS!!! It's extremely pitiful. I've never been able to play AAA titles without frame rates dipping below 10 fps. With my new build, I'm planning to have my own water-cooling loop, that will only cool CPU and GPU. The whole build is planned to be a black/red theme. I'm also planning to OC! However, without further ado, here's my full parts list, and feel free to add comments to give your own recommendations! EDIT: I probably won't be receiving the parts for another month and a half or so, but I'll keep you guys posted! Case: Corsair Obsidian 750D PSU: Corsair AX860 GPU: GTX 980 Strix RAM: Kingston HyperX 16gb ddr3 dual-channel kit MOBO: Asus Maximus VI Hero (ATX) SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 500GB CPU: Intel i7 4790K Water Cooling Parts: Res: EK Multi-Option RES, X3 250 Coolant: EK Blood Red Coolant (1 liter) GPU Backplate: Asus Strix EK Backplate GPU Block: EK Asus STRIX waterblock (nickel, full shroud) Pump: EK 12V Water Pump Rad: EK Coolstream 360mm rad Fittings: Bits Power 3/8->1/2 compression fittings (black/red) CPU Block: EK Supremacy Clear Acrylic Nickel CPU block Tubing: Primochill Clear Acrylic tubing Fans: Corsair Red 120mm and 140mm fans (static pressure) So, there's my parts guys, lemme know if you guys have any suggestions, such as stylizing suggestions, peripherals, or any other stuff! Thanks!

I would soon get my hands on enough money to make a very high end gaming rig. Though I don't know what would be best since there are so many options. So where else to ask about computers but here? I want a pretty much future proofed gaming rig with a primary white and secondary black look if possible and I kinda want a ROG SWIFT PG278Q as a monitor which that and other peripheral fall under my budget. Thank you for taking the time to look at this and help in advance !!

Hello there LTT Forum Community. I am working on building a Linux Briefcase computer for basic productivity software and light gaming. Planning to build the case custom out of wood and have an artist friend paint it all pretty for me Initial plan is an mATX or mITX board using onboard GFX to a stripped monitor that I mount in the "top" part of the briefcase This build is going to run an AMD A10-7850k with Linux [assuming itll even pick up video from the APU in the first place] Key points LOW HEAT [computer will be mounted in a custom wooden briefcase so liquid cooling is a must] Low Noise [this is intended as a laptop replacement and who wants a superloud laptop?] Solid parts [this is mobile, so the fewer moving parts to break in transit, the better imo] Dont bother with a mouse/keyboard as i have them in mind. Dont bother with a case Use link below as a template http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ycsZcf

Introduction and Purpose- No pics yet but coming soon once I get all my parts.Saturday maybe. The purpose is to MAX out Minecraft in 4K with 523 Mods.It is ment to go superkill. This is purely minecraft machine and nothing else. Parts List- Not going to upload pics yet but there coming- CPU:Intel Core i5-4590 Quad Core @ 3.3GHz Minercraft is CPU bound for the most part but when adding mods such as shaders it can get graphically intense.Overall an i5 is overkill because the recommended specs is a i3.The 4590 will destroy minecraft no matter how many mods. CPU Cooler:Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO No stock cooling on ANY build I will ever do. Period. Memory:(4x4)(DDR3-2133)G.Skill Ripjaws Series 16GB Overkill.Solid Ram.Period Again. Storage:Samsung 850 Pro 120GB/2TB Seagate Barracuda 2TB The SSD for saving core/jar files for minecraft and the 2TB for other stuff like mods. GPU:Saphire Radeon R9-295X2....Just joking its a 280 Dual X And again Overkill and great for OpenGL 2.2 Dirext X-11 and 12 when 12 comes out.Should be able to handle shades just fine. Case:NZXT S340 Simple and Minecraft modable PSU:Seasonic GII2 620W Full Modular It works Pics coming this Saturday! @Enderman

Hello Everyone I have been building my custom desk for a while now and it has reached that stage where I feel that it's time to share with this great community. Would like to thank the likes of Peter Brands and Pascal de Greef who have inspired and motivated me to attempt something of this scale, there has been stages where I just thought that it was turning out to be a bit too much but with a bit of research I have come to learn that everything is possible. I have also learned along this journey that there is some really good people out their who are willing to give up their own time to assist and help a total stranger in all ways that they can. There's still hope for humanity after all :thumb: lol I have picked up a few sponsors along the way which I will be introducing as I progress through this build log, I would like to take this opportunity to once more thank them for their help and belief, this project would have been completely different without their help :dremel: But let's get this build log going, I will try and keep it as short as possible but have well over 1000 pictures on my facebook page, which by the way is FenixMS1.1. Just in case anyone is interested to have a look. Mod to live or live to mod??? Thank you everyone. Hope you enjoy the ride

Hello! I've been working on my build for quite awhile now, and with the time I've spent I would like to make sure it succeeds. So, I'm asking everyone here for their time in reviewing the build. Thanks guys and girls! Build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/yCqfGX I have a WD Green 1TB for main storage, but I've had it for about 4 years. I'm thinking on getting a new 1TB drive in it also. <Sorry! I put this in the exact wrong location. I just noticed the other section.>

Thread has undergone changes and new thread was warranted. You can find the New thread here: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/328135-ghetto-scrub-build-refresh-double-build-log/?p=4455052 Since i'm currently a student this may take a much longer time than i'd like. So without further explanation... here's the build/mod explanation. Current Savings until next component: SHOPPING DONE! Total Spent 252$ *Usable* OLD Spare parts lists (functioning) 120 gb drive 350w psu crappy oem dell and emachine cases ddr2 1gb stick Wanted Components Mobo (Decent mobo with hdmi out preferred) Cpu g3220,g3258,860k or better Ram 4gb stick to start, (may temporarily steal one out of my other system if it ever comes down to it) SSD? Quite a bit for the performance of this aweful build Gpu? The question is are integrated enough...if not then it will probably be added later psu? Upgrade depends on above Wanted Mods Mods delayed and will be in another thread when they happen. (Enjoy the school computer painting pictures here though! http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/296212-the-ghetto-scrub-build/#entry4040441) Cable sleeving Side window install Custom Paint? (Tested painting methods and works decent.) Lighting Can't decide what to do with the face plate if i mod an old case or i'd paint one and such -want to attempt a front face plate paint and case paint

Hello LTT forum members , An update on The Northen King itself : http://pcpartpicker.com/user/DelusionalPhil/saved/L2QhP6 Onto the questions : + Question 1 : Can a G3258 run GTX 970 without bottlenecking it ? + Question 2 : Can I have UPS ship everything I bought from Amazon to Vietnam ? ( Because Amazon doesn't ship to Vietnam but UPS does ) + Question 3 : What is CAS mean ? + Question 4 : I want to if ASUS GTX 970 STRIX is a better choice then a MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G ? Because in my country the ASUS are cheaper than MSI one . + Question 5 : If I'm not Video Editing ( Maybe in the future I might get interested in slight editing ) , would the I7 4790K be a waste ? ( I am interested in Hyper Threading ) + Question 6 : Does the parts have any incompatibilities issue ? + Question 7 : Should I go for a Z97 with a G3258 and a MSI 970 for now and upgrade slowly into the future ? ( Rather than spending $2500 , that I don't have yet , on this PC and go for something practical and in budget - Which I don't even have - ) + Question 8 : Does the build look to fit the colour scheme for you ? Is it aesthetically pleasing to you ? Do you consider this a great build for this price point ? + Question 9 : Can anyone find me a better monitor ? ( Something that has more colour and still has 144Hz and 1080p ) + Question 10 : Why 1080p you ask ? Because it's GTX 970 ... I don't want to risk the performance of going 1440p . What do you think ? It is worth it ? + Quesion 11 : How am I going to accumilate that much money ? ( I'm 16 years old, lived in Vietnam , more specifically Ho Chi Minh city , and I want to find a part time job in this year or the next year ) . I currently have about $100 . I want to help my family with the debt problem first then I can carry on to the PC ( My family's debt is roughly $40 000+ , I want to help my parents first ... ) .

UPDATES ARE COMING IN MARCH! Hi! Nice that you check out my buildlog! This was my first post on this forum. I'm watching LinusTechTips for some years now I know him unboxing on a bench, that's when I got my NZXT Phantom. But i'm not here to talk about that I'm here to show you how I made my entire setup and cave. So I had the idea to build an entire desk with a build in pc I was saving up money for some years now to make this possible and with the great help of Corsair and EKWB. The main idea was to make a big desk with spaces for 2 people to sit down and game, also with 2 main pc's in it. As you can see it only have one motherboard in it. I couldn't effort it, so it's more lan based now. Also a lot of work (Almost 3years) has put into this project I hope you guys enjoy reading and watch this dirty attic becoming a modern gaming cave Social media! NCASE M1 - High End Gaming, Photo & Video Editing PC Ncase M1 Build Log Hello Forum, I would like to start off by saying this is my second PC build, my old build will be shown at the end of this post. I decided to get a new PC as my old one was starting to get dated and i wanted a smaller system sitting on my desk. The grand total for the build including all the peripherals came to $4850 Australian Dollars. The Specs: Case Ncase M1 CPU Intel Core i7 4790k Quad Core @ 4.0Ghz - 4.4Ghz CPU Cooler Corsair H105 All-in-One Liquid Cooler Motherboard Asus ROG Maximus VII Impact Z97 RAM 16GB Corsair Dominator Platinum 2400Mhz GPU Gigabyte G1 Gaming Nvidia Gefore GTX 980 Storage 2x Samsung Evo 1TB ssd's PSU Silverstone 600 watt SFX OS Windows 8.1 64bit The Peripherals: Display Asus MX299Q IPS Ultra Widescreen Keyboard Razer Blackwidow Chroma Mouse Razer Deathadder Chroma Headset Razer Kraken 7.1 Chroma Mouse Mat Corsair MM200 Extended The Build: All the parts The case Case tear down Motherboard CPU RAM Prepared motherboard Installed motherboard PSU PSU installed Cables installed GPU GPU installed Wired Up SSD's installed I ended up having to install one ssd on both sides as the sata power connector wouldn't fit in between the two ssd's stacked on top of each other. Preparing CPU cooler Hooking up CPU cooler I had to place the water block upside down in order to have the tubes on the left side to fit when screwing the rad to the case. I also decided to put some fan grills on the rad to keep the cables and tubes away from the fins on the rad. CPU cooler installed Sound dampening the front panel Applying fan filters Adding two more fans After testing the system and putting it on load the GPU was heating up a fair amount so i decided to place two more fans on the bottom of the case to bring more air to the GPU. This made a huge difference (10-15 Degrees cooler) Final Product: The Setup: Old Build: My previous build was really good but I really wanted a much smaller, more powerful system Specs: CPU: Intel Core i7 3770k @ 3.5 - 3.8Ghz - CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i - GPU: 2x EVGA Nvidia Geforce GTX 660ti OC - Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth Z77 RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz - Storage: 1x Samsung Evo 500GB, 1x WD Black 7200rpm 2TB, 1x WD Black 7200rpm 1TB PSU: Coolermaster Silent Pro Hybrid 1050 watt Final Thoughts: I hope this build log was informative about the process of how to build in the Ncase M1 as it is a very small case and hard to work in. I am really happy with how it turned out as it is much smaller than my previous PC and much faster in every way, it is also extremely silent at Idle with very low temps.

What are the best parts I can get for 600€ And do you guys now any good websites where I can learn this stuff (english and dutch)!!
-
Yeah. I don't exactly remember why he or I was there, but nevertheless, I met him and shook his hand. Though it was really awkward because I knew, he would probably get mad at me if I asked about the upcoming games. So I just stood there trying to come up with a question to ask, awkward. I shook his hand again and said bye (I was really polite in the dream!!) and woke up, really confused because the dream was so realistic. Then I didn't know if I should be sad or happy, so I fell asleep again. I don't know why, but I would really like to meet this man. He's just just this big friendly looking guy who happens to know a thing or two about some games I would really, really like to play.
