  1. Hello like you saw in the title I want to build a cheap PC since I don't have much money ( custom build ) and I don't know anything about PC so can anybody help me about the component? I have maximum 550$ cad
  2. Hi! I'm going to do a build in a bit over a year. (August-ish 2016) I'll post the progress here. The interesting thing will be the case, which will be as tiny as possible. Until the rig is being built, I want you to submit your ideas about what parts to get and whatever else relevant. On July 17th 2016, the parts for the rig will be decided and ordered shortly. Around that time, I shall announce the parts and configurations I have decided upon and some time later begin the build log. The parts I will list are subject to presumption and educated guesses. This rig will last me until I move to my own place. (Late 2018/Early 2019) I already own some of these components, so their price will not be included. These parts are what I'm currently considering (will be edited whenever I decide I want to change something): Custom (small) case Samsung 860 EVO SSD 500GB Intel Core i7-6770k w/low profile cooler M.2 SSD 128GB Windows 10 Corsair CS750M OWNED 4×8GB DDR4 RAM @ 2400MHz mITX Z170 socket 1151 (will upgrade when PCIe 4.0 comes out) nVidia GeForce GTX 1080Ti 12GB or AMD Radeon R9 "Fury X 2" 8GB HBM External DVD R/W Drive OWNED (will rework standard drive to external) 2× Cougar 140mm fan OWNED Estimated Price:~18,500 SEK/~2200 USD+case costs EDIT: In response to the comments. This was meant as a long-growing discussion, which would end in near absolute clarity once we'd reached the time of upgrading. I wished for certainty and planning, causing no regrets once the build has been decided upon. EDIT: The idea is that I want a case that can support a mITX board, a full-size PSU, The successor to the 980Ti, a normal SSD, an M.2 SSD, 2 140mm fans, and such. It should be custom and as tiny as possible. It will be finished in the late summer/early Autumn of 2016. I will design the case, and will begin to do so as soon as I can. What I want is the forum's input.
  3. I'm a Producer and I want to build a workstation. I wanted it to be very powerful and support 2 4k monitors in the future and be good for gaming as well. I don't know a lot about building computers so I thought this would be the right place to ask for help. These are the specs. I'm not too bothered about over clocking. Specs: Intel Core i7 i7-4790K Asus Z97-PRO Motherboard Corsair Dominator Platinum 32GB (4x 8GB) 1600Mhz DDR3 Ram WD 2 TB Hard Drive - Black Samsung 500 GB 850 EVO Solid State Drive Cooler Master SILENCIO 652S Case Corsair RM750 750W Power Supply Corsair Hydro Series H100i 240mm Liquid Cooler EVGA Nvidia TITAN X Graphics Card Corsair CO-9050006-WW Air Series SP120 Quiet Edition 120mm Low Noise High Pressure Fan Dual Pack x2 Asus Thunderbolt 2 Ports PCI Card Please feel free to tell me to change anything! You guys know way more about this stuff then men Also is there a chance I could get OSX to run on this machine, on like a separate SSD? I use Logic X at school and it would be awesome to be able to edit projects at home!

  8. Welcome to my Project build, Purple Phoenix. Introduction To start it seems fit that i introduce myself. Hey! im Ellie a 16 (17 in july) year old Girl who has a long love for computers. My end goal for this pc is that it will be show-worthy and also be my main workstation/gaming system to boot. This build is not being sponsored so i am funding it all on my own. my part preference for this build is mainly asus / corsair/ intel / noctua. this does not mean that that is all ill be using though, im still researching on watercooling equipment. overview im actually starting with my first ever pc build (minus the fact that i put it in a new case recently and added a few fans) so this build will be really evolving from what i have now and slowly progress into something that i hope will be quite amazing . Since this build is not being sponsored / or having any help being funded i plan on this being a year round build and hoping to have it done by this time next year so ill be posting updates as regularly as i possibly can. im going to be fabricating custom internal panels / mounting positions for items. in the end its going to be heavily modified. i will add rendered images on plans throughout (hopefully quite soon ill have one) This build will be highly themed around being purple and using up all space in the case and being an extremely clean with a smooth flow throughout. CURRENT PARTS: EVGA gtx 670 4gb sabertooth x79 motherboard silent pro hybrid 850 psu (80 gold eff) 16 gb ram patriot G2 intel i7 3930k (not being replaced because its still a great chip - dont replace something if itS AMAZING ALREADY LIKE DANG) bluray cd read write optical drive intel 730 series 480 gb ssd pyro 240gb ssd (old boot ssd) corsair force gs 240gb ssd (from my laptop but i put it in there to fill space 500gb WD HDD Corsair 760T Case water pro 2.0 cpu cooler thingy PARTS TO BE ADDED: 2 gtx 980's in SLI (not sure if possible but if it is i may also add a quadro card for workstation related processes') water cooling for graphics cards and cpu in a loop. possible new motherboard or just a wireless internet card a new psu (corsair) and get custom sleeving for cables) corsair dominator 32gb of ram clear watercooling tubing a mixture of uv and purple coolant. purple led light trips + uv PARTS TO BE FABRICATED cover that goes over psu and bottom of case sectioning it a bit (painted purple a ossible backplate for the back of case to cover up the indents in the back of the case to give it a more overall flat look (will be painted: purple or purple/white fade or flat white heres an image where i tried to make an example of what im trying to aim for with a cover for psu bottom of case. (i tried okay im not great at this stuff) If you have any questions or comments please feel free to say anything! also, if you have reccomendations on water cooling setup please put your input in the comments! P.S if you want to help chip in its greatly appreciated B)

Here is my desired build based on my budget. (Budget meaning I wouldn't want to go any lower than these specs but I can't really go higher in cost) I welcome all feedback as this is my very first computer build. I will be using it ONLY for playing games. Here is the link to my build on PCPartPicker.com (http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ZzrkmG) If you know of a lower price or something that I could get cheaper that works just as good, please let me know. Thank you! Zach

  17. Hello everyone! This here's an open discussion on my dream build, that I'm also determined to make my first. The basic concept around this one is basically to build a monolith of a computer, with a black theme to it. This project, is very much in its preplanned stage, and I don't expect it to actually start unfolding soon (unless a financial miracle happens ) Back to cooler stuff. Component list (will change with recommendations and as new goodies come out) : Case: Corsair 900D OR Enthoo primo Mobo: Asus rampage IV black edition Cpu: Intel i7 4970k Gpu: George GTX TITAN Black Psu: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 750 G Any help or insight from you guys is greatly appreciated, and will be taken into account Thanks in advance to anyone that comments on the topic, your help is much needed and much appreciated (gotta love shady grammar ) -EDIT- I'm willing to put up to (and no more than) 6K in this system (not adding cost of El Peripherals in here) This build will primarily be a gaming build with a pretty solid intent of mine to use it as a workstation as well (I study in visual arts and communications, so photoshop Adobe light room, Adobe Premiere are all going to be used quite often)
  18. Alright here it goes. You may or may have not seen the planning phase of this where I presented you guys with my idea. Link here The basic Idea is to build my Designers Dream Workstation dubbed „The beautiful Workhorse“. It is not gonna be used to play the latest gaming titles but to allow me be as productive and good at my job as I can be. But while doing that also be as nice looking and quite as is possible because it will be an important part of my life as I have to sit many hours beside it and even if Im not working it will stand as a main piece of the room. Anyway...Now it's beginning. Here you have the Parts List again for reverence. Case: NZXT Phantom 530 Black CPU: Intel i7 4770K CPU Cooling: NZXT Kraken X60 Cooling Fans: 2x 140mm Noiseblocker BlackSilent Pro PK2 Case Fans: 1x 200mm BitFenix Spectre white LED as Front intake, 1x 140mm BitFenix Spectre white LED as front intake and 1x 140mm BitFenix Spectre white LED as rear exhaust Motherboard: MSI MPower Z87 Graphic: MSI GeForce GTX 770 Lightning-Edition RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16 GB DDR3-1866 2*8 Kit PSU: Corsair RM Series 750W SSD: Samsung 840 Pro 256GB Storage: Western-Digital Green 2T Day 1: "In that case..." - See below. Day 2: „You can't always get what you want..." Day 3: "Its so easy!" Day 4: "Its just like Christmas..." Day 1: "In that case..." The first and most important piece has arrived just yesterday. A very nice NZXT Phantom 530 case in black. Still hiding the bugger Unboxed but still shy the beast. And here it is in all its glory. I have to say I am quite impressed by the thing. It may have to do with the fact that I didn't see many such nice build PC Cases for quite some time (ie ever) but the quality and level of production design of this case just amazes me. And now that I am seeing it in person right in front of me I have to say I really dig the Phantom design! Pictures don't do it justice...Its sleek, spacious and just plain impressively beautiful in my eyes... Alright I will stop now blabbering on about how it looks Now you see I do want to modify the case a good bit So the first thing after I stopped glaring at it for a while was stripping it down. (oh my this is getting worse...) Alright lets keep it together here. I disassembled the thing to look how good it would be to mod, paint and such. And I was very pleased to see that most any parts are easily removed or are just screwed in place. especially parts of the trim and front I/O are very easy to disassemble. So it will be easy to prepare the single parts for painting later on. Also I quite like how spacious it is inside. I took out all the HDD racks instantly as I will be using just an SSD for the OS and the important programs and an 2TB scratch disk which I can hide easily away. All other data will be stored and backed up separately Now I will have to find a Paint Shop who will and can do what I wanna do with the case. I want to have it painted it in a real nice matte black. Also I'm going to mod the side panel to have a single big window inspired by the angled CPU cutout on the motherboard tray. A bit like this: And I don't really know if I can do this kind of metal work myself...I much likely be screwing it up somehow and ruin the case... For me this is kind of a big decision to paint the case because I want to have It done perfectly. So I will see maybe I will set it up first and do the painting later on. So we'll see... Oh and I also got the nice sleeved white LED strip from NZXT. And look was the shop put in the little box as well. With something like this you know Its gonna be a good day I hope you are at least a bit as excited as I am ^^ I will keep you guys updated as soon as the next parts arrive. Hopefully next week tho.
  19. First of all, I'm building this rig since Dec 2013, have constantly bought new parts, fiddled around with it, and and and. 20. Hello! So this is my first case mod and my 2nd time watercooling (first time was only a CPU loop) It started out with me building a new rig for BF4; FX 8350 & 2x 7870 but then AMD released the R9 290 and i just had to buy it, I started getting into Litecoin mining and "accedentally" bought another R9 290, but after a few weeks of mining with those two jet engine-ref coolers i decided it was time to do something about it! The rig started out like this; I then got my hands on a used FD Define XL for free (3€) that i decided to mod! This is what i wanted to fit in the case: Mobo: ASUS Crosshair v formula-z CPU: AMD FX-8350 @ 4.8GHz GPU: 2x Sapphire Radeon R9 290 RAM: Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz 2x4GB PSU: AX1200i (yes it is RM750 on the pics, but i have changed it since!) SSD: Kingston V300 120GB Storage: Samsung 1TB Case: Fractal Design Define XL Titanium Grey CPU block: EK Supreme LTX AMD GPU block: EK-FC R9-290X Original CSQ Nickel Mobo block: EK-FB ASUS C5F-Z Acetal Radiator1: Black Ice GTS 240 Radiator2: Black Ice GTS 240 Radiator3: Alphacool NexXxoS ST30 FC 360 Fans: Corsair SP120 Quiet Edition x7 Pump: EK DCP 4.0 Res: Phobya Balancer 250 nickel black Coolant: EK Blood Red Since the old Define XL has basically no watercooling support at all some small mods had to be done so i could fit what i wanted; A 360 rad up top and two 240 rads in the bottom chamber, i knew it would be a tight fit but i was sure it would work! Started out with a window for the side panel (still have to cut out for the bottom rad fans!) With that done, it was time to make room for that 360 rad in the roof! I grabbed my friend the dremel and went nuts! Perfect! Now it was time to start the disassembly of my rig and draining the loop. Notice the colour of the EK Blood Red coolant, it had turned into a really, really, reaaaally dark purple (Anyone knows why this happens and how to prevent this?) Poor dusty fan Remember this kids; cats + no sidepanel is a bad combination! Both cards out! Hdd cage out, time to drain the loop and remove rads. There we go! Now it was time for some waterblock mounting Ready to remove the stock heatsink! All naked Much better! Next in line: R9 290's Tools needed for this install: multibit screwdriver and a scissor. Am i the only one that loves the looks of these coolers? if only they werent so loud! All naked and dirty, dont worry my love im going to clean you up and get you a new outfit! FYI, If you are impatient, please dont attempt this as you will probably rip all your hair out trying to remove the protective films from the pads, it is a real pain in the A** Looking Good! Let's tie you up with your twin and put you where you belong! Some Cabling started and top rad mounted! this is going to look so good... Tubing started, pump and one of the bottom rads mounted! All tubes done and the 2nd rad at the bottom mounted, just barely fit! PSU PoV, super tight but it works. Not looking forward to try and empty this loop, not a good placement of that T-fitting... Getting ready to fill her up for leaktest! (Was getting super late at this time, about 3 at night so i let her run while i went to sleep!) Good Morning and no leaks! Some more pics of her up and running: Gotta love the SP120's <3 First of all, sorry about the not so perfect image quality, photos taken with my Nexus 5! I am super happy with the results, what do you guys think? Feel free to ask any questions you might have!
  21. [3DMark] | [GPU-Z] | [CPU-Z] CPU: Intel i7 4930k Overclocked @ 5.0 Ghz GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 780ti SC w/ACX Cooler & EVGA GeForce GTX 780ti (x4 in SLI) Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws-Z 64GB (8 x 8) DDR3 2400Mhz Quad Channel Kit Mainboard/Motherboard: Asus P9X79-E WS Power Supply: Corsair Ax1500i Fully Modular 80+ Titanium Case: Corsair Obsidian Series 900D Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 1TB (x2 No Raid) & Seagate Barracuda 3TB (x2) CPU Cooler: Custom Loop CPU: The extra cores and threads on the i7 4930K made it a clear choice to me due to a lot of the different applications I use being designed to utilize multiple threads. GPU: When I originally purchased the system the Titan Black was still a rumor and wasn't released. The 780ti was the king of all GPUs and because it was both the best gaming GPU on the planet while at the same time offering 2,880 CUDA cores I truthfully couldn't see any better choice. Memory: My old system had 32GB of DDR3 1600Mhz memory and while that is a significant amount I ended up constantly running out due to the sheer number of applications and services I had running on a normal basis. I figured that it would be good to double up on the amount and get memory with a higher but not insane clock speed. Mainboard/Motherboard: The P9X79-E WS was the only board I could find with support for 4 GPUs running in SLI at PCI-E Gen3 x16. And that combined with the excellent build quality of Asus workstation boards made it an easy choice. Power Supply: At first I had an 80+ Silver Thermaltake ToughPower 1350W Semi-Modular power supply and while it was functional, the level of noise, the horrible cables, and the lack of it being fully modular convinced me that it would eventually have to go. So now a few months after the initial build I have now replaced it with the Corsair Ax1500i. Now, I can't say enough good things about it. The Corsair link software is surprisingly easy to use and the power supply itself being completely silent is also a plus. Case: It's a 900D, cable management is easy as hell and the room for radiator expansion is incredible. Enough said. Storage: The Samsung 840 EVO is a reliable, fast SSD. Cant say more than that. CPU Cooler: Better temps, looks better than an H100i. 22. Ever since Pebble came out, i didnt even consider it due to its "ugly" design but now that the Pebble Steel is released, i am having doubts of the product as a whole.. the features and the specs. So I Just wanna know what are the general features people think a Smartwatch should have As for me, Here it is: - Curved/Flexible Low powered Display I really believe Colored Eink is the way to go. It offers an always on display which every watch should have and super low battery consumption. Qualcomm's Mirasol Display sounds Promisable so i really hope more OEMs adopt that technology and work on it. There are many other promising technologies out there such as Eink Triton. Flexible OLEDs are actually a perfect option only if they offer low battery life. Current FOLEDs have high battery consumption and IMO unless there is a revolutionary battery tech breakthrough, these will not be suitable for smart watches. - A Sexy Metal Chassis The Pebble Steel's chassis is beautiful in all the right ways but i dont think it is perfect as the watch itself looks like a block.. like a square block. [Most likely due to the battery. I like what Qualcomm did with theirs. They placed the battery on the strap. This way, the watch face will be less clunk, allowing for a more comfortable, even and well balanced feel. If only they made it with more premium materials like aluminium and steel. - SmartPhone Notifications Frankly speaking, all i expect from a Smartwatch is just to receive notifications and glance through it. Pebble did an excellent job with it and i love how Qualcomm toq allows you to reply the message using predesignated text. Samsung overdid it, we all knew that. I have no experience on Sony's SW2 so i will not comment on that but it really seems like a good device. - Battery Life I believe a smartwatch should at least have a 5 Day battery Life. One Week would be perfect but realistically speaking 5 days is the way to go and to achieve this the display technology is key. Samsung's one day battery life just wont do it. -Pricing The price of smartwatches should be around $150 to $220. Seriously when you consider "highend" smartphones such as the Nexus 5 costing around $350, you start wondering why should you buy a secondary device for around the same price. IMO, the pebble is overpriced. For what it does, which is mainly notifications, and with that Decade old epaper display on it, why does it cost $150 and if not $250. it is just ridiculous. Well i guess you pay for the R&D? - Wireless Charging Wireless charging, even though it is not long range, it gives convenience for the user. Just take it off and place it on some dock is so convenient. - Input Touch input. In the 21st century, pressing buttons to use your device.. well just turns me off. lol.. Touch allows for easy navigation and does not require any hardware that will bulk up the device. Currently, the only Smartwatch close to this is the Qualcomm TOQ. Seriously, it really is the best for me now. The only thing that stops me from buying is that ridiculous price tag. If it cost me well $200, you will not see me writing this topic. So what are the dream features/characteristics of a Smart Watch?

  24. i wish i had the money! But if i had them, why should i build this? For who is that build? Also if i want to have a supercomputer/server/work/gaming, should i build this? Like some people said titna z is for small compact but powerful builds? Why not putting a workstation card or buying a mac pro? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/wJWgzy where should i cut from to fit to 4000$
