  1. I just woke up from a dream about showing my new build to Linus. I was sitting right next to him in an office as if we were working together. I ask him if I told him about my new build and he gets really giddy about it. He comes over to my computer and there's one particular part he is really excited about; some industrial looking outtake fans. He has two in one of his other builds and shows me exactly how powerfuld they are. When I stick my head into the air path it's like sitting behind a jet taking off. Both the noise and the heat is immense. I happily yell "This is gonna be SO good in the winter!!" And then I woke up. Well, have a great sunday everyone! :-)
  2. Hello, I've been a Mac user for just about my whole life, and with my trusty Mac Book pro about to die, I looked at getting a new one... Once I found out just how expensive a new 15" laptop would be, I decided that I'd build my own PC. I got some very useful advice for part selection: Motherboards: As long as you are getting a decent one, then its personal choice, but most of all the price premium isn't always worth it. I was recommended a cheaper motherboard, but the price difference wasn't enough to sway me (In America the difference was $50-60, here in Australia it was $15). Case: I went over board on the case, and I don't regret it. GPU: I was told to put more money into it and didn't but I'm very happy with it regardless. Processor: an I7 is not the best choice for everyone, but for me it was one of the best choices I've made. For games it makes no improvement, in every day use, same, no improvement. But for Engineering, it was worth every cent. So this is my computer. The Sapphire Dragon: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/user/Sapphire_Dragon/saved/LggQzy I wanted to build a masterful PC for less than a new 15" macbook pro. I have done that. Everything in this build is orange (except the GPU, thanks for the painting tips Linus, I'll be doing that soon), Orange LED fans, Orange Cables, Orange Motherboard, Orange RAM, you get the idea. Building this rig was easy, I followed a few of Linus's guides, and with in a 2 hours I had a computer. The hardest part was cable management, there are so many cables already in this case, than all all the power supply cables and orange cable extensions and you have a real mess. How ever from the front it looks amazing, and there is so much space in the back and down the bottom that it doesn't look to bad. Upon booting it I had trouble with the BIOS, it is to big for my screen, and when I try to change it to HD it tells me it cant. but by using F2 and going to the default it works fine. Everything els was breezy, it took an hour to get up an running properly, I used Nineite to get all the programs I wanted, and then started gaming. Peripherals: Mouse: Cyborg Rat MMO7, I've had this mouse for years and I love it, I've customised it to fit my hand perfectly, and i love the equivalent D-Pad button on it, as well as all of the other 6 buttons and hold click functions. Keyboard: Cyborg STRIKE 7, I wish it had mechanical keys. If it did it would be perfect, but my parents got it for me, and even with out mechanical keys I love it. The touch screen on it can be used control everything, the best thing is individual volume controls for each program. Monitor: Samsung 27" LED Monitor S27A950D. Its 120 htz, full 3D etc. etc. Its fine for me, I wish I could mount it, but it is so thin, and has no way to remove the base and no way of mounting it. Its clear as day, and I've never seen a problem with the colour, but I'm not to picky when it comes to monitors, my dad had a terrible one, so all the new ones seem amazing to me. It also takes inputs from everything, hooked up to all at once it my PC (Display port), xbox (HDMI) and my mac (DVI). PCPartPicker part list: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/CqkxRB Price breakdown by merchant: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/CqkxRB/by_merchant/ There are some discrepancies: The GPU is 4gb, and my cpu cooler is the stock intel one. CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($395.00 @ CPL Online) Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SOC FORCE ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($249.00 @ CPL Online) Memory: Crucial Ballistix Smart Tracer 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($209.00 @ PCCaseGear) Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($83.00 @ Centre Com) Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 270X 2GB TWIN FROZR Video Card ($235.00 @ Centre Com) Case: Cooler Master Cosmos II (Black) ATX Full Tower Case ($375.00 @ CPL Online) Power Supply: SeaSonic X Series 1050W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($279.00 @ PCCaseGear) Optical Drive: Samsung SH-224DB/RSBS DVD/CD Writer ($20.00 @ Mwave Australia) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($115.00 @ CPL Online) Case Fan: BitFenix BFF-BLF-12025O-RP 43.5 CFM 120mm Fan ($8.00 @ CPL Online) Case Fan: BitFenix BFF-BLF-12025O-RP 43.5 CFM 120mm Fan ($8.00 @ CPL Online) Case Fan: BitFenix BFF-BLF-12025O-RP 43.5 CFM 120mm Fan ($8.00 @ CPL Online) Case Fan: BitFenix BFF-BLF-12025O-RP 43.5 CFM 120mm Fan ($8.00 @ CPL Online) Other: BitFenix Sleeved 24pin ATX Extension Cable 30cm Orange ($9.50) Other: BitFenix 8pin EPS 12V Extension Cable 45cm Orange ($9.00) Other: BitFenix Sleeved 6-Pin VGA Power Cable 45cm Orange ($9.00) Other: BitFenix Sleeved 6-Pin VGA Power Cable 45cm Orange ($9.00) Other: BitFenix 4pin ATX Extension Cable 45cm Orange ($7.00) Other: BitFenix Sleeved SATA III Cable 180 Degree 30cm Orange ($9.00) Other: BitFenix Sleeved SATA III Cable 180 Degree 30cm Orange ($9.00) Other: Aerocool Shark Fan 140mm Black/Orange Fan ($16.00) Other: Aerocool Shark Fan 140mm Black/Orange Fan ($16.00) Total: $2234.50 Part Review: GPU: Firstly It has 4gb of DDR5. This card is amazing for the Price. I'm playing Warframe at 120 fps with everything maxed. It drops to 90 in the rain, but other than that it never drops below 105. I have no complaints. CPU: I haven't started over clocking because there was a problem with my H100i so I'm using the intel stock cooler, but even with out over clocking this thing is a beast. It can handle anything thing gaming, engineering or general use that I throw at it. SSD: Get one. I can boot in 2 seconds flat. RAM: Orange glow emanating out of the bottom and orange LEDs that flow faster the more the memory is used on top, I love it. I would have liked it to be in the 1866 - 2133 htz range, but 1600 still seems fine to me. And with 16gb nothing seems to need to load. Case fans: The stock Cooler maser ones are fine, I'm using so many that they are all running at low RPM though the built in fan controler, and the system is quite. EXEPT for the Shark fans. I've had this system for a week and one has already broken, and they other seems incapable of running as a top exhaust, that are also loud, the system is near silent with them off, but annoyingly loud when they are on. I will be replacing them with more BitFenix fans. Case: I love the Cosmos II, its huge, everything fits and I have so many orange LEDs in it that it makes patters all over my roof and walls. I can't complain at all. For me, it was money well spent. Conclusion: I spent more on this computer than I should have, but It is exactly what I wanted, still cheaper than a new laptop, and when I open it up I feel a sense of pride. I love the Orange theme, everything is so clean, and its unique to me. In hind site I should have been more willing to accept advice, but non of my ideas where horrible, so I'll take the price premium because what I've ended up with is a computer the computer of my dreams. Here are some Pictures of The Sapphire Dragon Thanks for reading, fell free to let me know what you think, what my upgrades should be, or to ask questions. This was my first ever PC build, and it was awesome!
  3. Hi guys this is going to be my third build and I decided since I'm coming in to a nice financial state, to make an enthusiast grade modded PC. My base line is off the X99 chipset and the newly released Gtx 980 cards. This will all center around the use and look of copper tubing and water cooling components. What I have quasi determined is as follows: Case: Cooler Master haF stacker 935 +915R Mobo: msi x99 XPOWER CPU : I7 5930K (For those pcie lanes ) Gpu : 2x refrence GTX 980's sli PSU : Evga 80+ plt 1000w modular Strg: 126 m.2 ssd(OS) 256 ssd 3tb hdd Optl: random blu Ray writer Colg: assortment of Cooper rads water blocks and tubing and a standered d5 pump. This will be my first time using anything other than a closed loop cooler or air heat sink so I decided caution to the wind and go for glory. I would be appreciative of any feedback, criticism, ideas for esthetic design of case mod options this build will hopefully completed by q3 next year so as to kick my face in when skylake is released.

I've been a big fan of LTT ever since the 1366 socket days. Four years ago back when Linus still was working at NCIX and doing videos at work. My favorite videos of him were always the Personal Rig updates. Dunno, for some reason I was always interested in what he used as he would release small tips/tricks here or there. (Must be why the channel is named (Linustechtips, but that's besides the point). Most of the PC junk I have bought was because of Linus so thanks for the giant hole in my wallet. My rig isn't as extravagant as some of the rigs up here. It's my daily driver and all my upgrade/entertainment money went into building my brother a rig. Still on the z77 platform and I'm STILL extremely happy with it. I'm not a big believer in upgrading every year or so. However, maybe I'll upgrade to a 6-core one of these days when DDR4 prices drop to what DDR3 prices were during the 1155 days. Parts justfication Radiator pictures Dremmel cuts Pre-GPU waterblock
  5. Hi, This build will be primarily for gaming, but I will be also be using it for a little bit of render work. I've decided to discard my last build plan as I wanted something with a bit more space and airflow and so that's why I went for a bigger 450D. I'm trying to keep this around $1500 AUD. It'd be great if you guys could give me any tips and suggestions for parts as I'm still yet to decide on a few. Thanks PARTS (NOT FINAL) CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K CPU COOLER: Corsair H100i MOTHERBOARD: MEMORY: Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1600 16GB (2x8) STORAGE: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB STORAGE: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB FANS: 2x Corsair AF140 Quiet Edition LED Fans and a Corsair AF120 Quiet Edition Fan GPU: PSU:

    Dream Talk

Let's talk about out dreams. I'll start: I had a dream I ruled the galaxy, with a loli army.
  7. Seeing a recent video of an actual hover board on Youtube got me thinking about one of the most iconic movie franchises of our time, or at least my time, being an 80's baby and as soon as I have some funds after selling my last build, I'm going to build a system capable of generating 1.21 Gigawatts of power! This of course means I'll have to go nuclear and get my hands on Plutonium (which we still can't buy in the corner drug store). Just in case those reference went over your head, I'm of course talking about a Back To The Future build. Here are some initial ideas, generous modding will be required and I'm still playing around with the idea of doing a minimalist, sleek build, or go all out with the retro led displays to monitor temperature etc. No decision on internals yet, but a side window to show off the Flux Capacitor will be cut into the side of the case. I hope I can start this soon, just have to sell the X99 I recently finished. - Case will be a Cooltek UMX1 - brushed finish to match the Delorean - Flux capicitor will either be made by hand or I'll just cannibalize the charger from Thinkgeek.com - DMC Emblem as a case badge

  9. Article at Variety. ... Do these people even understand how technology works? Or what "Resolution" even is? Seriously. This is some backwards thinking. It's like listening to a 4 year old try and tell you what is the way that things should be done. They're trying to do it in a somewhat logical way, but they lack so much information and understanding that they sound ... stupid. Maybe that's because the Movie industry does thing in fairly stupid ways? Maybe it's because they are too traditional and aren't modernizing to changing technology? And people ask why pirates exist? Because this industry is lead by people like this. Who understand nothing about how their money makers are made. This is about the only good thing I found that he said. It's mostly true. You should do what you love, but sometimes you need to relegate what you love to a hobby rather than focus on it as a profession because not everyone can be good at what they love. You get the idea. What do you guys think? Everything that's been going all lately has me fairly frustrated. People have always said the leaders were out of touch with what they lead, and honestly, I'm only beginning to realize how true that is. Either they are out of touch, or malicious in their intent (i.e. paid off). Either way, they need to be replaced in my opinion.

The cutout isn't top quality but it sort of gives that homemade look to it which I really enjoy. I gave the trim to the side window a black coat of paint to sort of go with the black trim on the front of the case. I do plan on modding the front of the case as well, because the front 200mm I feel doesn't have access to enough air. I have no thought of an easy way to do this yet but if anyone has any ideas i'm very open to them. This is my first build AND mod after days and weeks of research so let me know what you guys think! - Thanks!
  11. Hi guys i guess i should start by introducing myself. then the rig! Im Callum or karumu i'm 17 i work as an IT apprentice so minimum wage here! Most of my money recently has been going towards my pc, as i have been dreaming of making a new rig for over a year now. Now i finally have an income i can make progress towards it. My old rig was a custom build but it was aging rapidly, specs of it were Athlon II X3, Some asus am3 board, originally had a single 4gb module of ram, upgraded that a while back to 8gb corsair vengeance red, had a 1tb hdd, some crappy 750w psu (to be fair never had any trouble off of it.) and for a gpu i had the HD 5770 so not bad for a 3 year old machine, but definitely aged. So! time for my new rig! some of my parts are already bought and installed but i took pics during the process! Spec currently sit at: CPU: amd FX-8350 Motherboard: Asus Crosshair V Formula - Z GPU: Radeon HD 7850 Powercolor 1gb edition (ugh not too bad and was quite cheap) RAM: 8gb Corsair Vengeance red 1600mhz PSU: Corsair CX430 Storage: 120gb Samsung 840 EVO SSD boot drive + main games n stuff + Samsung Spinpoint F2 1TB storage drive Case: Corsair 750D Cooler: Corsair H100I Thanks guys for checking out my build log if you want me to post a pic of my actual setup, i will do! thanks Callum / Karumu UPDATE: New Spec list: FX-8350 under H110 (gonna OC tomorrow) Corsair Vengeance 8gb @ 1600 Asus Direct CUII TOP R9 270X (gonna buy a GTX 880 or 2 when they come out) Crosshair V Formula-Z XFX XTR 750W Gold PSU Samsung 840 EVO 120gb Samsung Spinpoint 1tb only new peripheral is a new AOC I2369VM IPS monitor and a Wacom CTL-480 ~Graphics tablet and some White LED's pics: Setup:
  12. Parts list: AMD FX8350 Asus m5a99fx pro r2.0 2x4gb Corsair Vengeance pro 1333mhz R9270x Gigabyte oc windforce Cooler master hyper 212 evo Cs 750m WD Caviar Blue 1tb Samsun 840 evo 120gb Fractal Design Define r4 Windows 7 ALBA LCD19880hdf The build went to plan, my only concern was that i had to apply quite a lot of pressure to the hyper 212 evo to fit the screws when placing the heat sink over the cpu. I first only plugged the SSD in because i didn't want to install my os on the HDD. once the os was installed i plugged it back in; it was recognized but didn't come up as a drive letter. i later found that i have to assign it to drive letter. The drivers were slightly difficult to install as the screen cut off about 1/16 of the bottom of the page. i had to use a lot tab and enter, trial and error. once i had the graphics drivers installed it worked fine but the search bar and tabs on chrome are tiny and so is the whole ui on steam. it is near impossible to read. any solutions to this would be greatly appreciated. I did not buy a h100i as i don't have the money right now but for people asking, there is enough room for a h100i and 1 set of fans internally although you many have to run the 8/6 pin fro another cable management socket. Thnx, Brit,
  13. Project Impracticality Introduction So my sister got a new laptop to replace her (this) super slow 8 year old iMac. Me being me, I decided that I would take the computer and do something crazy with it, instead of it just being thrown out. Of course before I could do anything crazy, I had to dismantle the damn thing first, which is the main topic of this first post. That ended up being harder than I would have liked, but it was infuriating enough to make me give up. What I plan to do with it Yeah, about that. I have no idea what the hell I should do. I have parts to a slightly less old computer (7 years instead of 8) lying around and I figured I might cut some holes in the thing to fit them, get a video card for it, and a new display that I can easily take apart to use in the build. After I came up with that idea, some crazy thoughts of water cooling popped into my mind. That would mean cutting holes to fit a radiator, which would probably be sticking out at a 15-25 degree angle to go with the curve of the back of the case. In order to deal with the limited space, tubing would pop out of the back to go to other semi or non exposed parts. If I were to do that, the theme would probably be blue and white or white and grey/chrome. That probably won't happen due to the fact that I have no experience with custom loop water cooling and don't have a gazillion dollars to buy all of the parts. i would have no objections if anybody wanted to give me parts. Btw, the parts function and I might be copying the data off of the 250 gig HDD for use in a hackintosh type thing. IF YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS THAT ARE REASONABLE PLEASE TELL ME ABOUT THEM, I NEED INSPIRATION How I will use it I probably will have it be a second computer in my room for my friends to use if they come over (co-op gaming) or will put it in the basement for anybody to use. In the case that I do water cool it (which I want to happen, but I doubt ever will) then it will be kept in a place where nobody can touch it or even look at it without my permission. This probably won't be used that often, if ever. So then why the hell are you doing this in the first place? My main reason is simply "why not?" and my secondary reason is that I want to gain some major modding experience with plastic and it does not really matter if I mess this up due to the fact that the iMac was going to never be used again. i also just want to have some fun while feeding my addiction to doing shit with computers. Also I got a new toolkit recently and wanted to use it, Parts Um.. there aren't any besides the shell of an iMac. When I am sure what I will be using, then I will update this or just put it in a new post. The old parts I could be using are: An AMD Athlon X2 5600+, 3 GB of DDR2 RAM, some terrible OEM board from HP, a 500 gig WD Green drive, and some crappy stock cooler. LOOK IN THE UPDATE FOR PARTS!!! Updates: 1. 21/6/2014 - Small Parts/Design Update 2. 11/10/14 - About this Build's Future On to the Teardown! Some Pictures of the Toolkit ^ This is the box it came in ^ ^ This is what is inside of the kit. ^ ^ These things are the "Security" bit set, "Precision" bit set with screwdriver and other thing, and the ratcheting screwdriver with a compartment to hold the bits in. ^ Pictures of the iMac Before the Teardown ^ Yes, this thing has/had mini DVI and 2 firewire ports. ^ Now for the Teardown! ^ First thing off is the memory bay cover. ^ ^ This is the 2 x 1 gig kit of RAM that was in before I dismantled it (used to be 1 gig). ^ ^ Getting the front bezel off was by far the hardest part of the entire ordeal. It involved shoving things into the rear vent in order to release 2 latches which was a royal pain in the ass. ^ ^ Apple really knows how to place screws in just the right place to piss me off. ^ ^ Fist look at the components. The ones visible are the 2 speakers, the north bride, chipset/south bridge, wireless card, 2 fans, and a few which I can not name. ^ ^ The wiffy card (yup, i said it) ^ ^ One of the 2 speakers. ^ ^ IR thingy ^ ^ First look at the insides. ^ ^ The screen is off. ^ ^ Now the HDD is too. ^ ^ No idea what the hell this is. ^ ^ A proper view of the inside w/o the HDD and other daughter board thing. ^ ^ The motherboard is out! Im pretty sure the CPU is a Core 2 Duo and the GPU is an ATI X1800m or something like that. ^ ^ Having to remove 7 torx screws at a retarded angle made me begin to hate the people who designed this. ^ ^ It is finally off. ^ ^ The back seems so much larger than before due to the fact that it no longer has a screen. Here it is in relation to a basketball. ^ ^ After much annoyance, the DVD drive is finally removed. I think Apple should win an award for worst screw placement because they thought that it would be a good design choice to make one of the screws completely impossible to reach.^ ^ This is the frame that everything is attached to inside the computers. ^ ^ Here is the PSU, which is rated at 185 watts. ^ ^ TIme to disassemble the stuff on the rear of the screen. ^ ^ This is the cable that hooks the screen up to the motherboard. Its flatness is ridiculous. ^ ^ The main board on the screen. I did not remove it as there is a possibility of me using the screen again. ^ ^ Here is the shell put back together to show what it is like empty. ^ The shell of the iMac is now being used as an over-glorified HDD stand This is how many screws I had after disassembling it Any and all feedback/ideas for what to do are greatly appreciated!

  15. Linus, I had a dream about you and Slick last night. You, me, and him were all on a sail boat in the ocean (I don't know why) and we crash and you and me collect scraps to build our own bucket to float away in that has stuff like a jacket and floaties (I have no idea where Slick went) So we're floating along collecting trash and scraps of the ship when we stumble upon two huge pirate ships. One was on fire at the front of the boat cowarding away and the others were about to board the other ship. We take our boat up to the "winning" boat with the other ship and somehow walk from our boat to theirs and we say that we can help them and they start chasing us. We take wood off of their boat as ores and use it to paddle back a short distance to shore. We're in a grocery store (I think it's Target) and the dock is the salad aisle. We're just chilling in that aisle and the pirates start shooting melon canons at us and Slick is just standing in the place that holds the salad, cucumbers, bananas, etc., like actually inside of it standing in the structure of it, and he says "Run, Linus, Run." and that's where it ended. Whoa. Sorry if it's confusing, it is for me, too, and it doesn't help that I just woke up from it.
  16. Hello there! I'm rather new into the case modding world but I feel I've been progressing quickly. I've always been very interested in computers and as many others, more interested in the hardware and how a computer works more than the games that you can play. I decided to make my own case mod, at first I did not have a name for it so it went under a build name called Project Blue Dream 2.0, but as the build progressed I started getting clearer visions of how I want the PC to look like when I was done. The name that I decided on was Project Chernobyl, I'll tell you more about how I thought of the name later in the build log. Well, Who am I? My name is August Lindgren and I'm a soon to be 17 year old student, on my spare time I do quite a variety of things, I like to ride snowmobiles, dirtbikes, workout, play on my PC but mostly, build PCs. I started this project because I really wanted to achieve something, something good! I apologize in advance for the image quality during the build but I assure you there will be better photos for my later builds! now that you know who I am, let's get started with the build log! The current specifications in the system are: CPU - AMD fx-8320 ( 20x * 220Mhz @ 1.365V = 4.4GHz) MOBO - Sabertooth 990fx R 2.0 RAM - Kingston HyperX 16GB 1600MHz GPU - R9 270x Vapor-x GPU2 - R9 270x Vapor-x PSU - Corsair HX 1000i HDD - 1x WD green 1tb SSD - Kingston v300 128 GB SPU - Xonar Phoebus Solo here are some pictures of what the computer used to look like before I got started. And here is my first vision of what I wanted the build to look like. These renders were created in Google Sketchup 2015 and rendered in Visualizer. So I got to work! List of things to be done Strip the case of all its panels and hardware Get the fanrings painted yellow Paint the front bezel yellow remove heatsinks from RAM and Motherboard for respraying I started prying of the heatsinks from the RAM sticks for repainting. This is the front bezel, fan rings and the ram sticks painted. I also painted the motherboard heatsink but I forgot to take a proper photo of it. Massive pile of hardware here these are the new fans that will be going into the system, also with yellow painted fan rings instead of the dull blue ones. at first I thought this was just going to be a small little project but it ended up being so much more than just that. as the project went on I got more and more ideas for it and started over again, and again, and again.. here are some pictures from after the first mod was done. doing some test fitting. First update! I consider my first goals with this mod to be complete but I want to do a lot more. I've just finished ordering a custom loop so I'm very excited about getting started. to be honest I ordered quite a bit of stuff.. Here's a list! EK-Coolstream PE 360 EK-CSQ 10/16mm G 1/4 Black EK-Supreme LTX AMD Acetal CSQ Laing DDC 12v XSPC Reservoir Primochill LRT Crystal clear 10/16 Feser one UV Yellow Phobya UV Flexlight Phobya TwinLED UV Phobya Y cable 3 pin to 4x 3 pin Alphacool universal pump mount A third Acer G246hl 24" 1080p AX 4200 Triple Monitor Stand A1 Saga XXL Mousepad I recieved some surprise income and decided to purchase all the things I've been wanting to get. as most of my friends know I'm rather of an OCD case when it comes to cable management, I'm extremely particulour about how I want my cables to sit and look like, so redoing my actual setup is started to happen on a regular basis. more mods on the way! Going to go buy some acrylic sheets that will act as both a PSU cover, Midplate and some GPU backplates. Second update! All the acrylic is purchased and is sitting next to me, I also bought some primer and a few cans of black color. as always, there are some cardboard models of how the acrylic will sit.. Because why not, right? I measured out the acrylic and cut them to size, also got started on bending the sheet for the PSU cover. I was walking around the house when I noticed an old external 2.5" drive, so I dismantled it and made a little SSD case for it! Here are the acrylic sheets all done and painted. Doing some test fits before fastening them properly Third Update! Unfortunately there has been some delays regarding the custom loop, I'm sorry to have kept you guys waiting! Here are some pictures of the first layout. Good news! no leaks, woohoo. I found it extremely hard to actually bleed the loop with the tiny reservoir mounted in the bottom so for the bleeding part I placed it ontop of the case instead, found that was much easier! I must say I am a bit disapointed on the fluid, but really depends on the lighting and from which direction you're looking at it. I managed to get some pretty good shots of the loop while bleeding. Here's a picture of the tiny reservoir I was talking about. here is a perfect example of what I meant with the fluid switching colors! it looks a lot more green in some places. So I ordered some sleeving guys! I really thought the blue cables would suit better in the build but they appeared not to. I ordered some yellow, black and gray sleeving, Which I found suits the build a lot better. there's happen a few things now actually, I've done quite a lot of things. Sleeved all the cables. Mounted "Biohazard" fangrills, more coming soon! Got the text "Chernobyl" printed on the side of the PSU cover and on the front panel. Metal Biohazard logo on the front panel and also got some white E22 decals on the fans, I really don't like the look of the corsair logos on the fans and especially not when they are spinning as they are not centered.. Pictures under the sleeving process! Jesus it makes your fingers hurt. First wire done! I actually ended up redoing the sata cables as I didn't like the look of all yellow. I couldn't post the final pictures directly because I felt that I had to get a better camera for it as my one really isn't doing this build justice. And here we go! I called my cousin who works with photography and she was able to bring her Canon EOS 7D Mark II over and help me get some really good photos! Here are the final pictures guys, the moment we've all been waiting for! Now, you might be wondering how I came up with the name Chernobyl? Yes, it's actually a really simple story, I've always been interested in nuclear plants and especially Chernobyl, I don't know what it is but it just interests me. and late one night while I was sitting just glaring at my computer I got the feeling of a nuclear plant looking at the fluid going through the tubing, that typical "green-ish" look. in my opinion sort of looks radioactive, so I decided to call the computer Chernobyl! Now before you say anything. Yes, I know the reservoir is way too small and I am planning to change it as soon as money allows me to do so. I will be moving on to a cylinder reservoir instead and also I will be changing out the fluid to Mayhems Pastel yellow at some point. but that is for another time. I really appreciate all you guys for reading this log and giving me all the feedback, it has really helped to help me make it through the project! Thank you. August Lindgren
  17. Yeah. I don't exactly remember why he or I was there, but nevertheless, I met him and shook his hand. Though it was really awkward because I knew, he would probably get mad at me if I asked about the upcoming games. So I just stood there trying to come up with a question to ask, awkward. I shook his hand again and said bye (I was really polite in the dream!!) and woke up, really confused because the dream was so realistic. Then I didn't know if I should be sad or happy, so I fell asleep again. I don't know why, but I would really like to meet this man. He's just just this big friendly looking guy who happens to know a thing or two about some games I would really, really like to play.
  18. Hi I am going to build my own Rig from scratch(not literally) but i just have a little idea, of what i could put in it and i would wonder if some of you people in here could maybe take a look at it? https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Loui578i/saved/#view=hDhycf and yes I am a noob at building rigs and all that... So that's why i'm seaking abit of help here to maybe add a few comments on if it would actually work if i bought it all as it is in the link?
  19. So this is basically my first post and I just wanted to open the floor, so to speak, with a few shots of my baby. Next to it is basically an Obsidian 750D I found in the trash, it even had a Blue-Ray disk burner so I lucked out hard with that and I want to use it to make a Monster Rig
  20. Hello Everyone! Hopefully you all have a good day! Im about to build my first ever PC and I think the gt1030 is enough since im only playing e-sport games.(Like CS:GO and PUBG) Here is the build; CPU: i3 8100 GPU: MSI GT 1030 AERO ITX 2G OC 2 GB Motherboard: MSI H310M PRO-VDH Intel H310 8th Gen Intel Soket 1151 DDR4 2666MHz RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB 2666MHz DDR4 Case: CORSAIR CARBİDE SERIES CHAMP/SPEC-04 RED/BLACK MidT ATX Case Power Supply: Corsair VS Serisi VS450 CP-9020096-EU 450Watt 80+ PSU HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB Have seen in benchmarks that i get minimum and maximum 29-50 fps on pubg in 1080p, but in 720 I wont get lower than 60 fps. In CS:GO doe Im getting around 300 fps on 1080p low settings. What do you guys think? Share your thoughts thankyou all <3
  21. hi, Guys i have a 2m (120 leds) addressable (3pin) led strip. i want to put them in my pc case but dont have a controller. i am still researching for the best contoller. there's controllers that is for rgb fans (6pin) and regular strips(4pin). i just wonder if i can plug my 3 pin strip to 6 pin fan header. anyone know about it or can try it????
  22. Hi! It's going to be my first time building a PC and I would like some opinions on how to make it better/cheaper, as after picking parts the costs seems a little high when I've seen lower. Will be using this PC for watching shows, surfing web, playing games such as LoL and select AAA titles. Please let me know your thoughts and opinions, I'm going for a black-red build so it would be nice if you could suggest parts within that color scheme haha. I may also have to do some video/photo editing for college projects and presentations so it would be nice to have little to no lag for those, but certainly NOT PROFESSIONAL grade stuff. So I'd like to avoid paying a professional grade price PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i5-6600 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor ($215.99 @ SuperBiiz) CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i GTX 70.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($109.99 @ Best Buy) Motherboard: MSI Z170A GAMING M3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($144.99 @ SuperBiiz) Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($84.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Crucial BX100 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($79.99 @ SuperBiiz) Storage: Western Digital BLACK SERIES 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($116.63 @ Amazon) Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 950 2GB Video Card ($144.99 @ SuperBiiz) Case: Corsair 450D ATX Mid Tower Case ($104.99 @ Micro Center) Power Supply: Corsair RM 450W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($73.98 @ Newegg) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM (64-bit) ($89.88 @ OutletPC) Total: $1166.42 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2015-11-08 04:20 EST-0500 EDITED: Hi all thanks for the input! 23. What do you guys think of my build? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/vN3xwP Any recommendations? Is my PSU enough for overclocking the 4690k? I plan to get the r9 380x BTW(it wasn't on pcpartpicker)
  24. okay, so on the past few days, I decided to choose pcpartpicker for gtx 970 build for myself. But then I decided that maybe gtx 980 will be much better build and it will last me longer so here is my new list. I want everyone to critique of which part that I should change which can save me more money. Thank you everyone. I appreciate the opinion and critique. Note: I won't be overclocking my cpu. I won't be overclocking my gpu as well. For wifi card, I only wanna put because I want to save internet speed for my brother for his programing work (speed less than 1gb/s). I stick with nvidia because from my experience, nvidia able to keep cooler temp than amd (at least on my laptops) but I will still consider AMD if 8gbs is worth it. Gaming will be on 1080p to 1440p. (4k does not make sense to me) The build is for gaming and engineering college work. Update: I am making lots of adjustment on my build and now I end up with 3 configuration. All haswell refresh has been changed to skylake with similar price but more powerful. The build this time includes 980ti and Fury X for consideration.
