If anyone could help, for school, my IT teacher gave us the challenge to help with a school project. We are learning about security and privacy, mainly about keeping our IP private, and therefore set us a challenge. We must create a DDOSing or DOSing application using any language. I have tried the ones on YT but they don't seem to do anything at all apart from slow my own computer down. If anyone knows of a script please let me know.

Welcome to the topic of: "Software Ideas." In this general discussion I wanted to ask if there's any way where -- for example, hypotheticals -- IF my SFF (small form factor) gaming desktop computer (DAN case series models to give you an idea of how small) computer's "lock screen" can be bypassed IF it detects a certain IP address from one of the NICs and in next response it will: 1. Launch the "keystrokes" so that it thinks that I'm typing the password but it is the software that is doing it. or 2. depending on the verification method that is permitted. I.e., PIN, Password, Picture Password, Windows Hello, etc. And add a new verification method called, "IP#" so that if it senses a certain IP address then it will unlock itself to the main desktop. Why do I ask? Because I have an idea where instead of having to pay a lot of money to build an eGPU laptop rig, you can use a desktop as the "Server" and thus it will be portable as a gaming machine on it's own. Thus, with mobility in mind, what you can also do with it is that in case if you were to go somewhere and want to play games in a stationary spot (perse) then you can essentially use the desktop as an "eGPU" so to speak. Why not bring a second screen? I mean, I can't say that it can be done but often times it will for one thing be unnecessary equipment to carry, takes up useful space, and put bluntly: if I were to use this computer's power, why would I use it on an external screen (not the client's screen, an actual standalone monitor)? So, with the way I see it, I could use a "telnet" command if need be, or of course, doing one of the two methods listed above. Still, in case where you can't hookup an external monitor for the desktop, you can still use an "IP Password". Or an IP sensor verification. so, with that said, thank you.

Hey all, I just scanned my old 2TB HDD in MHDD, and it's gave me over 1000 150ms responses, nothing larger or any other errors thankfully. Is it still ok to keep using this HDD? I know the first 3 grays are ok, and the ones below green aren't good either. But their seems to be mixed feelings about the 150ms green blocks.

I just purchased a Gateway Colorbook (for context of era this has a 486dx processor) to use as a DOS gaming machine, and accepted that it's hard drive was not included under the assumption that it would use a standard 2.5 in. IDE interface. However, when I received it, I was surprised to find the interface seen in the attached picture. Note how the connector doesn't span the width of the drive back. Does anyone more familiar with vintage components recognize it?

Hello, I am new to this forum and have a question to ask. However, I am not sure what topic it falls under, or if this forum even has a topic for it. But... Basicaly, I would like to know where to ask a question about ddos. Specifically if higher spec hardware can withstand attacks longer. Thanks for any referrals to the proper threads!

I was wondering what to put in a DOS box for my Old School Gamer friend. He wants dual 3dfx voodoo2's in SLI for the best performance in games from 1999. He also wanted to put a Pentium III in it. Any suggestions or general comments? I've built many systems before, but never with such old hardware. (P.S. I managed to find two 3dfx voodoo2's for $60 bucks and I thought it was a great deal.)

Hi so i have this USB 3.0 Drive that wont format for some reason. it keeps saying write protected and windows says it detects a malware in there thats preventing it from formatting. ive tried using gparted, windows command prompt and everything except for DOS since it never came to my mind that dos is a very low level OS and i think it might work to let me format the drive. so do you guys know how to format a usb drive with freedos? isnt freedos essentially a copy of MSDOS? thanks guys.

Hey guys, I've been trying to clone a HDD with MS-DOS installed on it with no avail. So far I've tried using Clonezilla. I am cloning from a 250GB IDE HDD to a 250GB SATA HDD if that makes any difference. However I am unable to boot off of the cloned disk, the contents appear identical however the space used is slightly off (a few mb at most). I have tried a few different options in clonezilla but all have had no success. Is there anything wrong I'm doing? Some details: - Using some ASUS motherboard with IDE/SATA port(s) so I can get the two drives connected - The original drive boots up MS-DOS with no issues. - I have also tried cloning to a larger size HDD (same result) I'm thinking that there might be some boot files that aren't copying or maybe clonezilla formats the new drive incorrectly, the content should be exact (bit for bit copy) by the space used is different (maybe this is normal). Any help in the right direction is much appreciated, thanks in advance! Regards, YoshiHDify

Recently my router log has been constantly getting spammed by the following records literally every few seconds: [DoS Attack: TCP/UDP Echo] from source: 17.253.66.241, port 123, Tuesday, January 19, 2016 16:55:06[DoS Attack: TCP/UDP Echo] from source: 17.253.66.243, port 123, Tuesday, January 19, 2016 16:55:04 The router has also been consistently and frequently dropping out at least a few times a day. I can't really seem to correlate any events in the log to the outages, these "attacks" are really the only abnormal thing. Is it possible that over time this traffic is accumulating such that the router has to reboot? And how is it possible that this traffic is still coming in when I have disabled automatic time updates on all devices (not just Apple devices) and even blocked all TCP/UDP traffic on port 123 in the router? Router is a Netgear WNR2000v3.

Hi all, In the last weeks my internet connetion (only on my PC) drops for some minutes and then reappears again. I've logged into the admin panel (Netgear DGN2200V3) of the router and found a DoS attack. Also I've got a lot of PortMapping when my PC is on. Why this? How could I solve this?

Hello! ^^ I am studying programming engineering at university and I've got task to write a DOS program/game it should use only DOS commands, no C,pascal, or any other programming language. Only DOS commands It should have 7+ pages of code I do not ask you to write But maybe you know some sites where I can find simple DOS programs/games with "source code"? Or at least can you suggest something to write to fill 7 pages with commands? btw, I'll need to do everything under Windows cmd I can write it by myself, but I feel like it is a waste of time... I'd better continue my c++ projects rather than DOS, that's why I am searching for already written program/game. Hope you understand and thanks in advice

Hey people So some of my mates made an imessage spam script that spams you a lot, and yeah I know it's just for fun, but also I was wondering how I would be able to create my own DOS protection script in python. I don't have a vast amount of knowledge of DDOS/DOS, Python, Scripts etc., so I'm looking for some help to creating a script to filter out all these spam messages. Also it would give me a sense of achievement, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks Yay 800 Posts

Hello, in an attempt to do something crazy I am attempting to install Windows 3.11 under MS-DOS 6.22 in DOSBox under ChromeOS. I'm suspecting I may have to use a windows based computer to do this but I thought maybe someone might be able to help me here first. First let me state that I am installing Windows 3.11 to a 256MB Hard disk image. It's directory is /data/c_drive/DRIVES/CDRIVE.img My installation disks have been ripped and merged into a single folder, this has worked in the past for me before. their directory is /data/c_drive/WINSTALL I am able to successfully mount both my CDRIVE.img as drive C and WINSTALL folder as Drive A I have mounted /data/c_drive as drive B I am able to successfully launch the installer for Windows 3.11 from drive A, all of the files copy successfully without the installer asking me to insert new disks, however when attempting to boot into Windows 3.11 for the first time DOSBox freezes. I give it time to load but nothing happens. I have also tried copying the Winstall folder to my CDISK.img, booting the Drive and then installing using the directory there but the installer still hangs at the same point. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this if at all? Or am I going to have to use my windows machine to perform the installation?

Post at /. ... This doesn't bode well. Hopefully they can get these bugs fixed ASAP and get everything back up to normal. I'm still mining away personally, as I expect this to go away once the bugs are indeed fixed. It's sad that DDoS' are being abused so much these days. I'm hoping someone comes up with a way to fix it soon. I know, I know. It probably can't be fixed because of it's nature, or the required investment needed to fix it, but still. I can hope. Maybe I should move to a different exchange. The big ones seem to be more dangerous now even though they are more established. Or sell my coin on Ebay. That's an option. What do my fellow miners think?

Lately a lot of attention has bene given to oldschool consoles like the NES/SNES, Genesis etc. Well I've never had these, and it's bugging me that nobody is ever talking about old PC games, DOS games and commodore 64 games. So I'd like to start a little discussion on what memorable games you've been playing when you were younger. I myself had so many that it's hard to even pick, but one of my favorites was Stunts, the predecessor to TrackMania. I thought it was the best racing game ever. And of course there were the classics like Commander Keen (oh, I loved that game :3 ), Duke Nukem 1-2 and later 3D, Prince of Persia. And then there were the stranger ones like Titus that not a lot of people seem to have played, but is a very fun little game. It was the PC's own Mario (even though we've had a mario port ). And there was also Ninja Rabbit that I almost completely forgot about. That was one of the strangest one. But somehow PC games were always the best. Games like Golden Axe and Prince of Persia that had Genesis and/or SNES versions, but were still the best on PC. Strange how that goes. P.S. Has anyone else played this game?
