How do people stream games in HDR to friends? When I say "stream", think Zoom screenshare, not Twitch. I use Discord, and it only streams in SDR. When playing HDR games, everything is blown-out because Discord doesn't do any tone mapping. This has got to be a super common problem now that many people have HDR-capable displays (even HDR400 does something). Windows 11 will automatically enable HDR for supported displays by default, so this issue will only get worse over time. What solution do you use? Is there another video streaming client available? Is there anything I can use to tonemap native HDR game footage prior to streaming? Windows Auto HDR + OBS Preview Window I've been looking at solutions, and the only one I've come up with is to disable native HDR in the game and use Windows 11's Auto HDR feature w/ OBS's preview window. Doing that allows you to play in HDR while someone watching you only sees SDR. Pretty handy, but there are quite a few quirks. OBS issues OBS does not transfer game audio like Discord. This is the biggest issue with this method. You have to put the preview window fullscreen to get the full res, and it's going to be choppier than native. It's also gonna need to be on a second monitor and can only get as large as that monitor's resolution. You can put the preview in a window and minimize it, but it needs to be sized properly which will never be the same as native res. Windows Auto HDR things to know Auto HDR requires you enable HDR prior to opening the game (toggle HDR with WIN+ALT+B). Normally, Windows 11 will automatically switch Windows into HDR mode when playing a fullscreen HDR game, so you no longer have to do it manually like in Windows 10. Auto HDR isn't supported in every game. I'm not sure if Auto HDR will work in all games that have native HDR implementations. Auto HDR worked fine in Hitman 3, the game I'm testing. Auto HDR runs in your SDR space, so it might be at 8-bit color if you haven't configured SDR for 10-bit. I manually configure this in the nVIDIA Control Panel, but it might do it automatically; who knows. Best to set it yourself to be sure. Native HDR should always look better than Auto HDR because the game can do a lot more to make the native HDR presentation look good whereas Auto HDR can only use whatever's available in SDR land (typically only gamma and brightness). If you use SpecialK to add HDR where Auto HDR isn't supported, you run into the same streaming issues as native HDR as it hooks into the game itself. Auto HDR runs one step before the final output for your display (my assumption), so Windows is technically only running the SDR game. This is why streaming works. Your monitor needs drivers for Windows, or it will default to 1499 nits. That results in ridiculous amounts of clipping and even HDR for YouTube videos will look oversaturated and blown-out. On my LG C1 OLED, I had to use Custom Resolution Utility (CRU) to set the peak brightness the HDMI EDID info. After doing so, all HDR in Windows looks amazing, even YouTube. Highly recommend you configure that regardless of Auto HDR. The SDR brightness slider supposedly affects the resulting Auto HDR peak brightness. If you set it to the lowest value, it should result in a correct Auto HDR. I haven't verified this myself because it's difficult to compare when a game's native HDR has its own calibration setting that might not be accurate to the resulting output. For me, I leave this where I have it since it's close enough to 0, and I don't mind clipping if it's only on the brightest lights. That's all about Auto HDR, but what about other folks? What are you using? I'm really curious.

Pretty much the title, I built a new pc a month ago and it’s really good, the thing is that whenever I join any discord call/VC or any other call site like google meets, my computer audio other than the call mutes, like game audio, Spotify etc all mutes except of the call. I’ve tried with discord support and they even sent me a client which hadn’t been released yet but even that didn’t work. I have tried playing around with sound settings and properties but even that does not work. I use wireless Beats Solo3 which have a inbuilt headset, I have a aux cord as well that I can connect. I have my headset set as input and output set as my headphones. I have turned the exclusive mode off in the sound settings which allows an app to gain control of the headphones and headset and I have set the reducing all sounds while in call option in the communications tab to “Do Nothing”. This is growing really frustrating for me as I can’t hear anything in game but my friends can while on the call. Also Audio drivers are all up to date.

On Discord, I have the setting to display current activity as a status message disabled. I am aware it is meant to hide the game you are playing from your profile, however it does not do so. While I cannot see the status message with the game I am playing on my profile, I have recieved photo proof that other people can, which I just recently found out. I have started having to appear offline on Discord in order to hide the game I am playing, even though I have this setting disabled. Any ideas on why this might be happening?

Man this issue is frustrating. It has been been happening for about a week now, it was completely fine beforehand. So I play COD with my mates in a Discord call, and their voices lag and the game lags terribly. Restarting router / PC resolves the issue temporarily, then it eventually happens again. I am connected wirelessly and ethernet is not possible right now. I have no issues when watching YouTube or anything. When I do a speed test, these are my results: Any suggestions?

So I've been noticing this for a while and my streams on discord are getting really laggy lately... So today I just hopped onto a big-ish server and wanted to stream but got a lot of people who sad I had a 'like 5 fps while sharing my screen on a game' Now I might know why this is happening but not too sure I have a Ryzen 3 3200g cpu. Now I was sure to think 4 cores and 4 threads may not be the greatest thing to use but wouldn't think it would be awful and another I think using the browser wouldn't be great aswell... Please help me I really want to share my screen soon

Hello everyone 1st timer! I have had this problem for a while (about 4 or 5 months) after my phone broke and had the 2fa and so i wanted to use the SMS verification method until i get a phone. but after a while i stopped receiving the 2fa message at the login, so not thinking it through i logged in using the backup and removed the phone number, obviously it gave me the "something's going on here" screen. After i did the normal thing and received nothing then i used a different valid phone number still nothing, gave it 73h in case there was a cool down and still nothing! I have tried more then 7 different phone number that are valid and working from different people and providers locally (north African Morocco) not a message and the app stays at this page , when it dawned on me to try a friend's phone number from Finland he received the verification SMS almost immediately and it just worked! But that's not a fix as he needs his phone number for his own account. I am at a lost I don't if anyone has even heard of what im dealing with. Discord support always replying with "sorry phone number that been used is invalid we can't do anything about it" even when i explained and explained and multiple tickets still nothing until an email from them that said something about the sender ID DISCORD and that i sent it "STOP" and i should send it "START" (i can post screenshots of the emails if anyone interested), which doesn't really make any sense as i didn't send anything and you can't just sent a sms messages to a sender ID as i know, after that email they basically ignore me or give that basic reply! Thank you for your time and help!!

Hey there, So for some reason, when I stream Beat Saber to a channel, what shows in the stream preview is actually Beat Saber, but what shows in the actual stream is actually just the SteamVR control menu thingy that pop ups in the desktop when you turn on SteamVR. How do I fix this issue? Thanks, Eli

I'm getting a PS VR2 when it comes out, and when I do I wanna share my experience live to my friends on Discord. I already have a capture card from my PS5 to my PC, and using OBS, I can stream my gameplay with audio to Discord. And since I can also listen to the capture card output via OBS, I only need to use one audio device (the headphones plugged into my PC). However, this won't be as easy when using the PS VR2. The only way I can get that is both positionally accurate and low latency is by using a set of headphones/earbuds plugged into the VR headset itself. On top of that, the headset doesn't have built-in speakers like on the Quest 2, so I *need* to plug headphones into it in order to get audio at all (yes I could just listen to it through my TV speakers, but I don't want my first experience with my shiny new VR headset to be held back by a shitty audio experience). My question is, how can I simultaneously listen to the headset audio, stream it to a Discord VC, and hear the people in the VC?

Hey yall good people So I was helping out a friend and while I have a good discord knowledge--- installing a custom bot into a specific channel on a public server and somehow limiting access to that channel until they've met ( blank ) requirement--- isn't something I know how to do on an advanced level. The bot is already being made and will be given to me to install, I'm just missing the steps inbetween. I know about server subscriptions and such but I was wondering if there is an easier route that im missing, to, again, install a custom bot into a specific private channel on a server I manage and crucially is there a way to invite loads of (specific) users at once into this channel without having to manually assign roles to access the channel. Thanks a lot in advance, hoping this made sense.

Recently I've been having this strange graphical glitch (for a lack of a better term) with some applications where they won't display properly. I'm not even sure how to describe the issue, but it's often on programs where you highlight a button or text and it glitches it out, displays black squares on top of it or text disappears as shown on the screenshots attached. Games and web browser seem to run no problems, watching videos etc. Is also fine. It ran fine before, and the only thing I can think of that I've changed was plugging in a 2nd monitor but even when having one plugged in the issue persists. I've tried alot of different things from completely disassembling and reassembling the PC, trying a different video card, different monitor, new DP cable, reinstalling literally every driver I can think of, clean windows install, tried both 10 and 11, firmware update on my monitor, swapping the RAM, ran windows memory diagnostic, SFC scan and nothing seems to do the trick - I've ran out of ideas and kindly ask for your help as to what could be the cause of this problem. System specs are Intel i5 1360KF Gainward RTX 3080 10gb 32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 16GB) ASUS TUF GAMING Z690-PLUS WIFI D4 MOBO 512GB SOLIDIGM P41+ GEN 4 M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD Corsair H100x Hydro Series AIO CORSAIR 850W RMx SERIES PSU Monitor I'm using is a 240hz IPS MSI MAG274QRX Thanks

Summary If you frequently leave Discord open on your desktop and have recently noticed degraded game performance from your Nvidia GPU, a Discord glitch might be the culprit. Nvidia will release a fix soon, but also offers directions for manually rectifying the problem. Quotes My thoughts This is unfortunate but at least not a big deal. I’ve tested this with and RTX 4000 series but don't seem to be affected. My suspicion is because I use MSI afterburner with manual overclocks/undervolt. I did try 'resetting' values to default in MSI Afterburner but memory frequency still did not lower when opening Discord (joined voice channels, streamed my monitor etc). For those having the issue, most suggest using GeForce 3D Profile Manager and change the Discord profile. Would be interested to see if just installing MSI Afterburner also fixes the problem since I'm not affected. Hi, I'm trying to make discord desktop appear like the amoled theme on android (and currently also on iOS TestFlight). I know it's possible by entering the following code into the console: document.body.classList.toggle("theme-amoled") The problem with this, is that I have to redo that every time I reload the app. It's possible to automatically do that on your browser using an extension, but I failed to find a way to do it on the discord app. Anyone that could help me? Thanks!

Okay, this is something I expect won't be specifically easy to fix but I'm really hoping there is something really simple I'm missing. While COD Warzone is open, Discord is super laggy and I will constantly disconnect from the call. My squad mates will use push to talk in game to tell me that I've left the discord server, while on my screen it shows I'm still connected. While I am in the call, I can't hear anything and nobody can hear me. Sometimes, I'll hear someone's keyboard click or a word of a sentence before it cuts out again. When I tab out of the game to any window, everything works perfectly fine. This seems very similar to when I'm performing a CPU intensive task like opening Minecraft or starting a video render where discord will cut out for ~5 seconds. Obviously it's more extreme with Warzone. The only thing I've tried so far is restarting the machine and setting Discord's CPU priority to high in task manager. The audio for the game and in game voice chat works fine. Any ideas on possible solutions or alternate roots of the issue (other than CPU)? Help! Somehow 3 years ago I got banned from the discord server. I have seen other threads on this forum, and they all say to contact Momo#1111 There is an issue tho. Discord refuses to deliver any messages to them. Is there anyone else that I can contact to find out why I was banned and to possibly get unbanned? Thx

So my friends all play on pc and we use discord quite often. I play with them but on my PS4 with cross-play, and they want to use discord instead of most games absolute hot garbage game chat. I was wondering if I could get some discord and my game audio in my one headset, and so I was looking at some cheap mixers that would mix both inputs in to one output (my headphones); one small problem. How can I get my headset mic input going to my pc? Thanks for the help audiophiles,

Hi! I have a Terraria (and Minecraft, but that's not relevant since I don't have an especific command to start that server) server setup on a VM on Google Cloud running Ubuntu. I have a little script that initiates the server by entering a command. The thing is that I had an idea. What if my friends could start and stop the server by putting a command on a Discord chat? I've seen bots do things when entering a command like !play (whatever music) and things like that, but I don't really know if they are capable of performing an externela action like this. I don't know either if the Google Cloud SDK has any support for something like this. If anyone would like to help, anything is welcome! I would like to learn from this and any ideas (even if they're wrong or are not exactly what I'm asking) are veeery welcome. Thank you all in advance!

So last night a colleague and I were chatting on the pc through discord he could not hear me well at all and adjusted the audio setting on his side, he suggested I moved to mobile and I nearly blew his eardrums off lol I was using a steel series mic/headphone on pc the headphone has been damaged for a while but I thought the mic would still be good quality and work great, to hear the audio I was using a Samsung audio & mic combo that they included with their older phones. I also tried a microphone that was not damaged that come with dragon naturally speaking and same issue i was using the front headphone and microphone ports for this I was using the EarPods that came with my IPhone XR and the mic quality was ten times better than my pc. is there a reason for this difference? Is there a way I can fix this in audio settings on pc or do I need to upgrade any equipment?

I have not joined the server, and noone else here uses discord so i know there hasnt been an ip ban. Whenever i try to join the ltt discord server on pc, it lets me see the rules and welcome channels as a "lurker" but if i try to join the server disappears. When i try to join on mobile (ios) the same thing happens but it freezes my app. If anyone has any ideas why i will be thankful. :)
