For some reason, whenever I'm on a call, everyone's audio is super quiet, even when turned all the way up. I checked the sound mixer and discord was at 100 volume. The strange thing is that it only happens on the discord app on my PC, and that it only occurs with this headset. The browser version of discord works perfectly fine, so its definitely a problem with the app, and this does not occur on any other devices. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but the situation did not get any better. What should I do?

Hello Everyone, My mic stops working randomly whenever I'm playing Escape From Tarkov with friends. We use Discord to communicate and everything goes well until randomly my mic will just stop working completely. I tried connecting back to the call and re-launching Discord but that doesn't help. The only way I get my mic working again is by unplugging it from USB port and plugging it back in. I thought that maybe the headset is the issue so I went ahead and borrowed my friend's one. I encountered the same issue today and have no idea what is causing this. The headsets I've tried are Logitech G Pro X (wired) and Corsair Virtuoso XT (wireless). Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank You! P.S: The issue seems to be on my PC. I haven't encountered this issue on my laptop as of yet.

I need some help with my computer (Windows 11). Discord, games (The Finals, Overwatch) crash instantly on launch or after a few minutes, and sometimes browser tabs crash but not often. I've found a workaround for Discord. It works fine in the Edge browser, but crashes on Firefox after some time, or the microphone disconnects. Here's what I've tried so far: updated the motherboard BIOS to the newest version, ran Memtest86 (passed), restored BIOS to default settings, disabled XMP, fully uninstalled and reinstalled all crashing applications, fully uninstalled and reinstalled GPU drivers and audio drivers, updated Windows, also side note ran Furmark and Cinebench without system crashes. The system is not overheating, temps are fine. Internet is fine, plugged into ethernet. In Discord, my microphone (Blue Yeti GX Logitech) will not work, however only in the calls. Everything else works, such as the playback setting to test your mic. I am not muted in the server, and have not muted myself. There is nothing wrong with the microphone itself. What is the issue?

I got a new Blue Logitech GX Microphone (Yeti GX) and I connected it. It works in everything but Discord calls. It will work in the Discord mic check, if I pull up OBS and talk it will record my voice, I can use it on zoom, or any game with voice chat, I checked if I was server muted, muted myself, and nothing. I go to discord Mic playback and I can hear it, except in calls(like ive said). Any idea how to fix?

Hello. I've recently built a PC for my dad, we luckily live in the same house. We are troubleshooting a mic issue. The mic works with his Xbox Series X fine but won't work with the PC at all. The mic isn't picking up very well. We have tried changing its gain in Windows and in other applications, trying different volumes on my side (receiving) and it either doesn't pick up or the volume is so low at the end that you can't hear it. Testing leads it to say anywhere between 3% to 15% at full input volume on windows. His specs are below. GIGABYTE B650M DS3H Ryzen 5 7600x (I disabled the integrated graphics for AMD and Nvidia program issues) NH-D15 32gb (2x16gb) CL32 5600mhz T-Force Vulcan 3060 12gb ASUS Tuf Nvidia WD Black 850X 2TB (Boot Drive) Samsung 990 Pro 4TB (Steam Drive) 1200W 80+ Gold Rosewill PSU The problem is with a Razer Kraken THX Tournament Edition Headset mic. We have used the included USB dongle and a splitter (into the front and back ports). When using the USB THX dongle we did use Razer Synapse and still had no luck. I have also made sure to check BIOs and utility versions for them to be up to date. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

When trying to stream on Discord audio goes away pc becomes slow and unresponsive I've tried doing any troubleshooting steps that I could to no avail. I've recently upgraded from a rx 6600 xt to a RTX 4070 With the RX 6600 XT I never had this issue. Everything works fine I can stream with obs I can do everything but stream on discord. I am suspecting the PSU I have a Gigabyte P750GM 750 W 80+ Gold my current pc specs here https://pcpartpicker.com/user/BassOnWeb/saved/#view=8ZNLyc I didn't think that it would be such a hassle, I even reinstalled the Windows many times, I haven't tried Windows 10 though. If you have any idea, please I am at the end of my ropes.

(Windows 11) Hey, okay so a really odd issue. I have recently gotten this super weird issue with my microphone. It started today when I was going into a VC call a friend on discord, but my microphone wasn't picking up any signals. I checked discord settings and the correct mic was checked off, but when I tried using the discord mic check no like audio bars showed up. I then wen't into windows settings and saw that my mic is being recognized as a microphone, but in windows settings also when i test it no like things happen. It says 0% audio recognized. I have tried uninstalling discord, and reinstalling. Downloaded new drivers for my microphone. Connected it in and out of the USB port. The even weirder thing is, I tried using my headset microphone (HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless) because windows also recognizes it's microphone, but same issue there, no signals is coming through. After another reset of computer, this time plugging out the power cable from PSU and waited 1 minute, I tried again, and this time i got signals both in windows settings and discord. When I tried joining call again, both windows and discord stopped recognizing any audio input from both microphones. I am at a complete loss for what could have happened. It all worked perfectly fine even yesterday! Some other information that i dont know if relevant. I just buildt my new PC this last weekend, but like I said I have used both discord and gotten microphone signals this whole week. I also got a new WiFi at home yesterday, but after that I also used Discord with no issues (I thought maybe something like a security thingy stopped like communication or something via the wifi idk :=) Does anyone know anything I can do?

Hello everyone, I've been encountering some perplexing issues with my audio setup recently, and I'm hoping to seek your expertise in resolving them. Here's a breakdown of my configuration: Audio Equipment: Headphones: Audio Technica ATH-M30x Speakers: F&D HT 330 Microphone: Maono AU-A03 Condenser Microphone Sound Card: Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (3rd Gen) Additionally, here's a list of USB-connected devices on my PC: Logitech G102 Mouse Glorious Model O Wireless Mouse Focusrite 2i2 (Audio Interface) Logitech C920 Webcam USB to Ethernet Adapter (for internet connection) Keychron K10 Keyboard Rapoo V600S Controller Dongle Notably, none of these components are directly connected to my PC; they all route through the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. I've also taken the precaution of disabling two other devices in my Device Manager to prevent any interference: the Logitech C920 webcam (which can pick up audio) and the Asus VG248QG monitor (which can produce sound). Here are the specific issues I've been facing: 1. Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Troubles: On occasion, my Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 ceases to function, resulting in a complete loss of audio. This means I can't hear anything, whether it's through my headphones or speakers. 2. Microphone Problems in Discord: When I join a stream on Discord, my microphone mysteriously stops working, unless I disable the "echo cancellation" feature in Discord. Furthermore, even when I'm watching someone else's stream on Discord, my microphone fails to function in other applications like Google Meet on Google Chrome. These issues cropped up after I recently reinstalled Windows a couple of weeks ago. I suspect that some settings may have been inadvertently altered during the reinstallation process. Okay, so my detailed hardware info is as below: CPU Primary: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Motherboard Primary: Asus ROG Strix B450-F RAM Primary: G.Skill Trident Z Royal RGB 16GB (2X8GB) DDR4 3600MHz GPU Primary: ZOTAC GAMING GeForce GTX 1660 Super Twin Fan 6GB Case Primary: Gamemax Rockstar 2 Storage Primary: Gigabyte 120GB SATA SSD, Samsung 870 EVO 500GB SSD, Toshiba 1TB (7200 RPM) & Seagate Barracuda 1TB (7200 RPM) PSU Primary: Corsair CV550 550Watt 80 Plus Bronze Certified Display(s) Primary: ASUS VG248QG (24”, Full HD, 0.5ms, overclockable 165Hz) & Xiaomi Redmi 21.45" FHD (60Hz) Cooling Primary: AMD Wraith Prism Keyboard Keychron K8 Mouse Primary: Glorious Model O Wireless & Logitech G102 Sound Headphones: Audio Technica ATH-M30x, Speakers: F&D HT 330, Sound Card: Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (3rd Gen), Microphone: Maono AU-A03 Condenser Microphone Operating System Windows 10 Professional

Hi, I'm issues with my .NET Framework installations. Yesterday after shutting down and restarting, my Windows 10 Installation doesn't detected .NET Framework 4.030319, which breaks most of my programs. According to a registry query via command line, they are still there, and the latest one being 4.8. Unlike Windows 7 & 8, the .NETs are not appearing on the Programs Installed list on Control Panel for some reason, is that normal? I would like remove them all and reinstall them, any help would be appreciated! Specs: Windows 10 Pro 21H2, Build: 19044.3086, "Experience: Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19041.1000.0"

After formatting PC and reinstalling Logitech G hub, G Hub refuse to work with Discord integration. I used to use G9 button as mute/unmute. Whenever I click enable Discord integration it disable itself after 1-2 sec and even if I somehow enable it (by clicking enable over and over), G Hub says "please launch discord" and once I launch it, it disable itself again. I never get G Hub authorized app popup in discord. I never got this issue before and it's not even first time I formatted my PC. I even tried installing G Hub in my old laptop and strangely G Hub doesn't work in it either.

Since LTT's new Discord it is hard to know whos who on the Discord because some people have different forum names than their Discord names. I do not know if this is possible because of the forums limitations but I know of some Discord servers do this with games and such.

It used to be free, you set up an account, joined Discord and generated pictures in the common chat, right? But something is not working now. And it forwards to the home page with the given price.

Discord on android destroys audio quality
bob the slob posted a topic in Programs, Apps and Websites
When I talk to anyone on Discord, it destroys audio for all other apps, I searched the internet to see if there was anything, but nothing worked for me. There was someone who said they fixed it by stopping Discord from using call volume or audio and media instead. Do any of you know of a way to do this, or any other way? As of long ago my PC disconnects from my wifi/network when I screen share for about 5min on Discord. I use an ethernet cable to directly hook up into my router. My internet shouldnt be the problem because I have gigabit fiber at home with over 900+mbps download and upload. Usually when this happens my ping goes all the way up to 5000 and I drop out of call 30 seconds later and come back in about 30 seconds later. It usually fixes itself when I use my PCs built in NIC instead of using an ethernet cable, is there a fix to this?

Summary In a recent blog post, Discord announced that they'll be moving away from the current system of numeric discriminators, i.e. your username followed by a # and 4 digits, to a system of unique usernames. The official argument is that it will make it easier to identify your friends, and that the old system with numbers was running into issues and so needed an update. However, a lot of users are unhappy since this introduces a sudden race to get unique usernames, similar to Twitter or Instagram, where there previously was none and your desired handle was always available, just with some numbers on the end. Nitro users will be getting priority access to migrating to the new system, making some call this a "pay to win" migration. Concern has also been raised about potential impersonation (by sniping famous handles), account selling, and phishing and harassment to get people with short or famous handles to hand them over. Quotes Thoughts I much preferred the numeric discriminators, since they avoided the whole issue of "Sorry, this username isn't available" common on so many social media. The numbers were never an issue, since you could easily copy it by clicking on your account in Discord, and then PM it to a friend on Steam or similar. It also meant that your display name always had a nice default value, with the option to customise it per server if need be. The new system still has display names, but now your default will have to be some mangled username, à la __l33t-sp34k__ , unless you're lucky and grab the first instance of your preferred handle. The change makes Discord's system similar to more mainstream social media like TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter, but I personally quite liked how Discord wasn't one of these. Of course Discord is still different, posts are not public facing, but given that these other platforms have had problems with phishing and harassment over rare and unique usernames, I absolutely believe that it'll happen on Discord as well. The argument that this is done due to system limitations also doesn't sit right with me. Surely, hashing usernames would solve the uniqueness problem on the server side, and something like Steam's friend codes could be used to connect with people. The discriminator could also be changed to the last parts of your account hash, similar to Git short hashes (for those unfamiliar, Git allows you to refer to a specific version by the final 7 characters of the hash value, instead of the full 40), which would keep the ability to distinguish accounts by clicking on them (I would even argue it would make it easier, since you would be more likely to have a differing letter (hashes are hexadecimal) vs just having differing digits). Unfortunately, both on Reddit and Twitter, there seems to be little discussion or acknowledgement of the concerns raised by the community, which is always promising. So I expect that they'll push through with the changes regardless... Since this came up in the WAN show I wanted to mention it. Discord DOES allow sections/headings/categories for channels and sorting set by server admins and locked in formats. Just wanted to mention this as Luke / Linus seemed unaware that this was possible. Here's Discord's RTFM link: https://support.discord.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001580171-Channel-Categories-101 and attached is a screenshot example from the Spiceworks Discord Server. Hope this helps to clear up this confusion.

Summary Following the news of secret documents leaks on Discord earlier this week, Bellingcat and to WaPo journalists decided to dig into the sources into the leaks and it looks like they gravitated around two minor youtube celebrities whose followers had a particular penchent for edgy shitposting. Based on the reports, the source is a community centered around a small youtuber (Oxide ~130k subs). historically famous for playing wargames and currently in the military. Essentially a community of guys into weapons, geopolitics and shitposting, the toxicity of some of his fans got to Oxide and the resulting bans pushed the most toxic subset of his fans to a separate forum, where the secret documents were posted over a span of months. From there, some of the documents were re-posted to a discord server of a self-proclaimed "shitposting internet microcelebrity" WowMao, from which they were reposted to a general Minecraft server - Minecraft Earth Map - before making their way to 4chan and Russian Milblogger telegram channel, who promptly re-posted them after editing Ukrainian casualties numbers. The WaPo articles are painting the image of a community of lonely teens and young adults who congregated to discord servers during he pandemic to keep socializing and in the race to appear cool one to another decided to post secret documents they had access to through work (or declare they won't rat out their internet friends who did that, on-record, in clear-voice to a major news outlet). Quotes Belligcat from 9th of April: WaPo from 12th of April 1: WaPo from 12th of April 2: My thoughts Looks like kids who grew up on the Navy Seal Copypasta are finally adults and after failing to become the actual Navy Seals are trying to pass of as ones among their online friend by leaking classified documents. I wonder how long before discords one is part of and youtuber one follows are join War Thunder in the latest questions on security clearances list and where LinusTechTips the LTT Minecraft Network would rank in that list. I also wonder, what tips would be needed for the parent who gave a consent for their kid to be interviewed by WaPo on-record. Especially when their kid is saying they new the identity of the currently most wanted person in the USA, but won't give it to the authorities. That also gives a more credence to Linus' obsession with what his kids do on the internet and who they interact with. Wonder if he would have additional tips for other parents wrt that. Hey guys! First post here, I thought about putting it in servers but this seems like more of a networking issue than anything else. So, I am trying to set up a spare PC I have as a machine for a Minecraft server and a Discord bot. The main thing stems from issues with configuration with the Minecraft server. I set up the server and it worked for a day, then the IP address changed and the PC lost connection to the internet, shutting down both the bot and the server. A little info about what I did while setting up the server: Went into Adapter settings and set the IP (192.168.0.192), Subnet (255.255.255.0) , Gateway (192.168.0.1) and both DNS (Google) to manual and filled those in -After doing this ipconfig /all no longer showed a lease start or end and displayed all those numbers correctly. I went into my router and configured port forwarding for port 25565 with both TCP and UDP I went into my PC's firewall and set rules for inbound and outbound for port 25565 in both TCP and UDP I had to fiddle with router firewall to actually get port 25565 open but eventually it worked. Fast forward a day, I came home from work and the server and bot were offline. Checked the PC and it had no internet connection. ipconfig /all displayed 2 different IPv4 IPs: Autoconfiguration IPv4 address showed 192.168.0.242 (Preferred) IPv4 address showed 192.168.0.192 (Duplicate) Changing the router's port forward rule to go to 192.168.0.242 fixed the internet problems and brought back my server and bot. My question is how can I prevent this in the future? The setup I am using is: CODA-4589-RES gateway Ryzen 5 5600x MSI MPG B550 Gaming Windows 10 Let me know if you need any other information! Can update with screenshots if it happens again, but I forgot this time.

I am using a HyperX cloud II The last week or so my microphone has been cutting out on discord. I've tested the mic on audacity and i have attached a picture of the recording, it just abruptly gets quieter while doing a "aaaaaa" test, but talking normally is fine. I've tried different usb ports, changing discord voice settings, disabling settings in windows sound control panel but nothing works. I guess the lowering in volume is causing discord to cut out my voice but i have no idea how to fix it

I'm attempting to join the discord and when I click the check mark to join in the rules section it boots me out of the server. So I created this forum account to try and join by linking my discord still no luck. Any ideas?
