  1. Hi, I currently have 16GB 3600MHz & I am looking at getting more RAM and I'm looking at getting another 2 sticks. I'm looking at getting either 16Gb or 32Gb and I'm wondering whether there will be a problem if I use 2x16Gb 3600MHz CL18 & x2 32Gb 3600MHz CL18. Thanks in advance.
  2. PC Specs: RTX 3060 Ryzen 5 5600X 32GB 3600Mhz CL18 (4*8) Asus ROG STRIX B550-F gaming MOBO Hi, I'm having a problem with my 1st and 3rd DIMM slots on my motherboard. The problem is that my PC crashes irregularly when I play games. It all started this summer and the changes that I had made to the PC before it started crashing were adding another identical 16GB kit of ram and an SSD. At first it didn't cross my mind that it had to do with the ram/MOBO. I thought it had to do with the CPU. But then later I began to think it was the GPU since my CPU wasn't running above 80 degrees and when the PC crashed the CPU wasn't being 100% utilized. When it crashed my PC still had power, but it didn't get any display and I couldn't do anything except turn it off with the power button. This made me believe it was the GPU. But then I sent the GPU in to the store that I bough it from and they tested it for problems for multiple days and couldn't find a problem with it. They said that I should check the ram, so I checked my ram sticks and they are identical corsair vengeance RGB RS 3600Mhz CL18, except the ones I had from the beginning were ver. 3.31 while the ones I added this summer were ver. 3.34. This led me to believe it was a compatibility issue with the two ram kits since they were different versions. But I also tested them individually (I put in one ram stick at a time, in each DIMM slot), every stick of ram worked but they only worked when I had them in either DIMM slot 2 or 4. When I tried putting them in either DIMM slot 1 or 3 the PC would power on but I wouldn't get any display. I googled if you could run a single ram stick in any of the DIMM slots and it said that you could. (I still haven't ruled out the compatibility issue with the two ram kits though I think it's unlikely to be the problem since I discovered the MOBO problem) I tried putting a single ram stick in DIMM slot 1 in two other PC's and they both worked fine unlike mine. I also tried my own ram stick in one of the computers and it worked fine. This made me sure that my sticks were not the problem. Then I tried putting in two ram sticks in DIMM slots 1 and 3 in my pc and it didn't boot. But when I put in all 32GB or ram in the PC it boots and all 32GB gets recognized by the computer even though DIMM slot 1 and 3 didn't seem to work earlier (This is also the ram configuration that crashes, 4*8GB). So I was wondering if my MOBO is broken somehow or if it's some sort of feature on Asus MOBOs (the two other PCs I tested in had MSI MOBOs) (Just to clarify I had 16GB of ram at first in the 2nd and 4th DIMM slot and it worked fine but then I added 16GB to the 1st and 3rd DIMM slot and my pc started crashing)
  3. Hello everyone. I recently bought all the parts for my AMD build, and when I checked my RAM kit I realised that it was only XMP certified. Kit used: 2x16 G.Skill Ripjaws S5 -5600MT-CL28-DDR5 Mobo + CPU: MSI Mag B650 Tomahawk Wifi. + R5 7600x Can I still use this kit to its "fullest potential?" Or do I really need to get EXPO certified ones instead? :') Thanks
  4. My motherboard, Asus z97-pro wifi ac, has dual channel, A1 A2 and B1 B2. I have 2 ram sticks, and the recommended configuration is A2 B2, but when I put in the ram to those slots, the computer doesn't turn on. The error code it shows is 55, which means "Memory not installed". I tried all the possible combinations and only A1 A2 works. Is there a reason why my motherboard is like this? It uses DDR3
  5. CPU: AMD 5900X(new) MOBO: ASUS X570 PLUS WIFI RAM: 16GB PNY 3200 CL16 (2x8) GPU: ASUS 3070 TI(new) PSU: Corsair CX750 SSD: Sandisk 480GB SSHD: Seagate 2TB M.2: WD BLACK 1TB(not initialized) I decided to upgrade the parts on my pc and after installing a new m.2 I notice my two RAM sticks were in the B1 and A1(both 8GB sticks reported fine in windows and worked with XMP) instead of A2 and B2. I switched them and when I went to check windows only reported 8gb in one slot. Booted into UEFI and MOBO is saying there is no RAM in B2. I tried a few different combinations of RAM and these were my results. ------------------------------------------------------------ B1 empty B2: physical 8GB ram inserted (MOBO doesn't see 8GB RAM) A1 empty A2 physical 8GB ram inserted (MOBO sees RAM) ------------------------------------------------------------ B1 empty B2: physical 8GB ram inserted (MOBO doesn't see 8GB RAM) A1 empty A2: empty (MOBO only sees RAM in this slot) ------------------------------------------------------------ B1 Empty (MOBO only sees RAM in this slot) B2: physical 8GB ram inserted A1 physical 8GB ram inserted A2: Empty (MOBO only sees RAM in this slot) ------------------------------------------------------------ B1 empty (MOBO only sees RAM in this slot) B2: empty A1 physical 8GB ram inserted A2: Empty ------------------------------------------------------------ I have reseated the CPU and made sure there were no bent pins. I have 32GB 3600 cl16 2x16 sticks coming in the mail soon and I would like to get the most out of them. The 4 main questions I have are: 1. Is it safe to use my new 32GB sticks to help troubleshoot more? My last post I mentioned how I accidently fried a motherboard from a different PC and used the sticks from that build in my current PC to see if they were usable. I had them tested and they work fine. 2. Im 2 weeks outside the 3 year warranty, what are my chances of getting this RMA'd? 3. Would resetting the bios back to factory fix this? I worry because I had to flash the BIOS to be compatible with my 5000 series CPU ( I had a 3700x in the motherboard before, but have since sold that one) and I dont know if the motherboard would work after. 4. if its a hardware problem and I cant get it RMA are there any suggestions for motherboards that have native AMD 5000 support? Every board I google seems to say it needs a bios update to support and doesn't mention the BIOS version number.
  6. Board: MSI X570s Carbon Max WiFi RAM: 4x16gb Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro CPU: Ryzen 7 5800x3d New motherboard in my system since my last graphics problem finally got traced back to the motherboard. All the above listed parts were working on the previous board. The new motherboard won't post with ram in both the A and B channels. (Regardless of configuration. 2 channels and it won't post) 3 out of 4 sticks are working when testing them one at a time in DIMMA2, 1 was not for some reason so I set it aside for the moment as a problem for another day. System runs fine with both A channel DIMM slots filled. Debug code on motherboard is 0d, and ezdebug light indicates CPU. (Same debug result for both dual channel usage and for the stick that's suddenly acting up)
  7. Recently, I purchases new RAM (previously i had DDR4_1-2 filled). All the RAM is the same model, G.Skill 2x4 F4-3200C16D-8GVKB, and all the RAM works separately. However, when I install the sticks into slots 3 and 4 the system refuses to boot. It turns on, and the CPU fan and case fan run, but there is no video output as it doesn't boot. I am confident that the fault isn't the RAM My question however: Is there anything I could possibly do to fix this short of replacing the motherboard (Gigabyte B450M DS3H WIFI)?
  8. Hey everyone, after fighting BSODs for a while, I think that either a DIMM or a RAM slot is broken. No BSODs while using slots 2 and 4 (going from CPU socket), immediate BSOD while using slots 1, 2, and 4, and (so far) no BSODs using slots 2, 3, and 4 with the same sticks as before. So either way, I can't populate all slots, either because a slot is dead or a RAM stick is dead. I have a matching set of 4 8GB GSkill Aegis 3000MHz sticks. I'd much rather have 24GB than 16GB, obviously - but other posts are quite ambiguous on whether this is a good idea, generally advising against mixing and matching RAM (which I wouldn't be doing) or mentioning that it'd run in single channel. So my question would be if this would be a good idea stability wise, and whether it'd actually run in single channel. Buying a new motherboard isn't a very attractive option, as I'm running a Ryzen 1600 and wouldn't want to inveset in a dying platform - B550 doesn't support it afaik, and I might upgrade once GPU pricing becomes reasonable, so throwing money at a mobo that I might run for a year or so doesn't seem great. EDIT: Before anyone mentions it: I'm running the RAM at 2133MHz to make sure the BSODs weren't from the RAM being too fast. I know first gen Ryzen doesn't like that very much.
  9. so, i've had an issue with my PC for a while, getting event ID 161 volmgr alot, i replaced my old PSU and it seemed to fix the issues, then 2 months later it started happening again, i then moved my ram from A1 B1 to A2 B2, and it worked great for another 2 months, now i need to swap them back and forth every 2-3 days otherwise my PC wont actually give me a post screen, the PC posts, it goes to windows but it just doesnt give me videofeed and the white VGA lamp is lit up on the MB (z390-f Gaming strix), i tried flashing bios, thought that would help but alas it did not, also, when i switch the ramslots the issue goes from volmgr161 to nvidia drivers crashing and either have to hard reset or they recover. any tip here?
  10. Hi, new forum user but avid tech user here. I was recently installing my old, but good, memory in a friends absolute garbage computer. They have a single stick of 8gb memory from HyperX 2600~mhz but I'm switching them to my 2x8gb 2133mhz Viper memory. Speed isn't their issue with memory, they just like having lots of things open at the same time. Issue: Anytime there's any memory in the second DIMM slot, the computer acts as if both slots are empty. If I put 1 stick into the first slot, boots fine, recognized the new memory, the other stick as well in the first drive, boots fine. But if I only have one stick in the second slot, or GOD FORBID, a stick in both slots, the computer simply doesn't boot, E.G as it would without any memory in it. There isn't a debug light or sound since this is a old barebones build, and from the information I have on the Motherboard, it supports dual channel. And yes, the board and RAM are both DDR4. I have got into BIOS when I had one stick in, and the computer shows both slots on hardware info. Thanks again for any help. Edit: motherboard is a gigabyte h110m-a for anyone wondering. The RAM I am installing is two identical models and no pins are bent on the slots.
  11. Hey all, Looking to upgrade my RAM to a 4x8GB 4000MHz kit. Looking on the QVL for Ryzen processors looks as though in principle, the motherboard supports the RAM. but doesn't support a 4-DIMM installation of the memory, which kinda defeats the object of having 4x8GB sticks? Anyone had any experience with this, and was it okay to install the 4 DIMMs as normal? Cheers, Rhys PS Sorry for the handwriting on the screenshot!
  12. Hello everyone. I was replacing thermal paste on my CPU yesterday, and the screwdriver slipped and scratched some plastic off one of the DIMM slots. I was thinking about adding more RAM to my PC, and now I'm a little bit concerned. Is it really that bad as I think it is?
  13. I have a Gigabyte B360 HD3 mobo and a intel i5 9600k CPU. I don't know what ram is compatible with the components, if anyone would be able to help me identify or guide me to find out compatible ram that would be great.
  14. in msi h81M E-33 motherboard ram 1 slot not working & pc shown black screen after booting by second slot & enter the ram in hardware mointar ram is shown ,but after restarting pc is not booting screen is black system is on have tried anything & everything update bios clr CMOS battery check evry single pin of processar & slot with fan & without fan . So , please help me out any answer
  15. Hello, I am writing out of confusion. About 2 weeks ago, after having many BSODs, I decided to test each of my ram sticks with memtest86. One of the ram had hundreds of errors and so I decided to return it for a replacement as that meant it was broken. After a frickin week of waiting for it to arrive at it's destination, another 5 days pass and voila it's today. The store's technician who is checking the ram to verify that it is broken calls me and tells me that they have found no problems, keep in mind they used memtest86 as that's what I told them to use. That's impossible, I say because I did find errors. But he told me that they tested them together, which didn't make any sense because I also tested them together and found problems, now that I'm writing it I wonder if they he tested them in single channel, idk if that will make a difference but I am just wondering, so I told him to check each one alone and he said he would do that. Anyways, out of fear that I spent 2 weeks in my old slow laptop for nothing, I searched what happens if I have a bad dimm slot. None of the "symptoms" applied to my case. I am just wondering if they are scamming me or I am wrong.
  16. TL;DR: physical DIMM is causing 'hardware reserved' issues, with the DIMM itself being 4GB and causing a 6GB reservation (50%) when slotted combined with 3 other DIMMs. Booting with that particular DIMM (solo) is unsuccessfull, but it is detected when slotted combined with the other 3 DIMMs. Windows Memory Diagnostic tool does not report any issues on any of the DIMMs. Futhermore, a re-occurring (related?) issue with non-paged pool ammount can take up to 75% of the available RAM, but does not always occur. Advice requested on next diagnostic steps. Dear reader, I have had the following problems for quite some time now, yet never had the time and energy to really solve it. One of the DIMMs is causing a 50% hardware reserved RAM problem, when taken out it is solved. However, a second problem of large non-paged pool memory can take up to 75% of the available RAM sometimes. They are probably related, yet the second issue still occurs without 'faulty' DIMM from the first issue. I would like understand the cause behind the first issue, and advice on how to solve the second issue. System and Background This is my old system, has run with W10 before. Is has been through many hardware changes, but always stable in its current configuration (excluding videocard, but I'm not supsecting that aspect to be the cause). Phenom II X4 965 BE (stock) MSI 970 gaming 2x2GB GEIL DDR3-1300 2x4GB Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3-1600 The memory kits have been matched on voltages and timings, and I have never had any issues using these two kits together before (has been used for ±20 months with aforementioned configuration). It is a clean install of W10 Pro (1803) on a brand new HDD (previous one failed), and is primarely used as a multimedia machine and webbrowsing. Issue #1: DIMM causing 50% hardware reserved RAM For quite a while this system is/was having a large RAM hardware reserved buffer, a total of 6GB reserved (50% of total). Initial moment of this problem starting is unknown. After some basic research and tests (Memory Diagnostic tool, checking processes etc.) I started playing around with the physical DIMMs themselves. With all 4 DIMMs in use, 6 out of 12GB is reserved. After testing all possible configurations of DIMMs (single, dual, triple, quad) in different DIMM slots (1-4), I found that one of the Ballistic DIMMs appeared to not work solo (no windows boot). Using it together with any of the other DIMMs, it caused a 50% RAM reservation (no matter the total slotted capacity). But when excluded from any other configuration possbile (2;2x2;4;4x2;2x4;2x4x2 etc.) only ±40MB is reserved. BOOT Advanced options > Maximum memory is (and was) off. Meaning that I am currently using a DIMM configuration of 2x4x2, in DIMM 1-3, for a total of 8GB. In this case, removing a DIMM actually gives me more usable RAM.... > This issue has been 'solved', but not quite understood how a 4GB stick can cause up to 6GB of hardware reserved RAM. I would like to know if I can somehow test if the particular DIMM is actually faulty/broken, even though it is detected (and accepted?) by Windows. Issue #2: non-paged pool memory leak (?) After taking out the 'faulty' DIMM from issue #1, I still noticed a suspected memory leak. RAM usage of processes in Task Manager and Resource Monitor did not add up to the reported total usage in both the Performance tab of Task Manager and CoreTemp RAM usage. I ran RAMMap, which drew my attention to a massive 4GB+ in non-paged pool memory (something I didn't pay attention to in Task Manager). It has even reached 6GB (75% of total RAM). I can literally see it accumulate from after the first seconds after booting to desktop. For example, last time it started at ±100MB and stopped at ±440MB. I don't know if this number is normal though. It appears that it does not always occur and/or continue accumulating linearly plotted against time passed, sometimes the non-paged pool memory stays at ±440MB. This issue also occurred during the initial 4-DIMM configuration from issue #1, but I thought it was related to the reserved RAM and therefore did not look at it more deeply. > My next step is to try and identify the leak with Poolmon, followed up with Kernal Debugger. I have, however, no experience using these tools, and it seems these are mostly used in server scenarios. I was wondering if someone with more Memory-related experiences has some input on my observations and the next steps I'll be undertaking. I have read through some articles, one of which is http://woshub.com/huge-memory-usage-non-paged-pool-windows/. I will also try the network adapter driver tips, but again, these tips seem most applicable for server scenarios. Thanks in advance. Cheers, JB
  17. Hi Everyone! I just wanted to ask what is the difference of DIMM-R and DIMM-S. And if there is a difference in performance between the two if I insert my ram stick in there. And if it is alright to leave my RAM stick in the DIMM-S slot. I am asking this because my laptop was not posting earlier, there was no Asus startup sound and logo. So I tried to move my RAM stick that was initially in the DIMM-R slot to the DIMM-S slot. And it booted up and my laptop works normally now. Although I have not tried any heavy tasks yet. Thank you very much! Specs: Asus Strix Hero II (GL504GM-DS74) CPU: i7-8750H GPU: GTX 1060 6GB RAM: 16GB
  18. I've been running a 16GB (2×8) kit of XPG Spectrix D60G DDR4 3600MHz CL17 memory for a few months now and a few days ago decided to purchase order another kit of the same memory online. Link to the memory: https://www.xpg.com/en/feature/606/ But i just realised that the kit I ordered is a 3600MHz CL18 one instead of CL17 like the kit i have been using, will adding these dimms cause any issues? For my motherboard I have the B450M Steel Legend, https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/B450M Steel Legend/ It doesnt support 3600Mhz memory speeds, so I tried to manual oc the memory as far as I could go and I've previously managed to get my kit to run at 3433 CL14 but it would very occasionally crash things so i dialed it back to 3400 CL14 and it's been running fine since. (both frequencies run at 1.4V) Since I can't run them at their stock speeds and am running them lower than their rated speeds anyway, would that further decrease the odds of any issues coming up (if any)? What would happen if i decide to upgrade my motherboard that can support higher speeds in the future and reuse the kits? Would it then be an issue that i'm running these 2 different kits? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance. *I went with the 3600MHz kit even though my motherboard doesn't support those speeds because the price difference between this kit and the 3200MHz one was literally less than 5 USD (after conversion)
  19. So Im building a new rig and I ran into some major RAM stability issues. First I noticed Chrome acting strange, then data corruption. Therefore I ran the AIDA64 RAM stability test and it failed in the first minute. I have 4x8GB of 3200 DDR4 Patriot Viper 16-18-18-36 RAM sticks so I decides to troubleshoot the sticks in pairs. I took the first 2x8GB pair and ran a 30-minute (I will run a full 12h test after I solve this issue) AIDA64 stability test again and it passed. I took the second pair of 2x8GB and it failed in the first two minutes. So the issue must be in one or more of those two RAM sticks in that pair. To be 100% certain that the problem lies in RAM only and not the MB, I decided to put the first pair that passed the AIDA64 test in different DIMM slots (not optimal ones) than before. I ran into another issue. I couldnt configure them to boot up in 3200, 16-18-18-36, only in 2133, 15-15-15-36. Now my question is... Is it normal that the MB doesnt allow "overclocking" (setting to actual frequency values this RAM should run at through a-XMP) 2 sticks of RAM if they are not put in the optimised DIMM slots? Or is it another issue and the faulty RAM isnt all thats wrong here? I ran AIDA64 anyway (on that 2133) and the config came out stable after 30 minutes. I will test individial RAM sticks in that faulty pair now. I will update this post after I do so. CPU: R9 3900x MB: msi x570 Gaming Plus RAM: Patriot Viper 3200 4*8GB GPU and PSU irrelevant. 20. Hey all, A few months ago I built a new PC with a Ryzen 7 2700X, 16GB (2x8GB) Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000MHz RAM, and a B450-F STRIX GAMING. The other day I upgraded my GPU and bought an identical kit of RAM to put in my system in slots 1 and 3. (Others identical set was in 2 and 4 as per mobo manual). Suffered a series of game crashes, blue screens, and general slowed running of my PC until it got itself into a major bluescreen loop of turning off, booting into a bluescreen.. etc.. Took the additional RAM out, and everything has been fine ever since (phew it was only the £70 RAM and not the £500 GPU). Sent the RAM back to the shop I bought it from and just thought it was a bad batch of RAM. Looking into buying another set or RAM now, I've been thinking about compatibility on a closer level. On the returned version, Latencies, Speed, Model SKU, even the RAM Version was identical. So decided to look at my Motherboard's Qualified Vendor List for RAM. It shows support for my RAM on there but not as a 4-DIMM, two pair arrangement - is this really that big of a deal that it would have definitely caused this? Or should I chance it with another identical set? Thanks, Rhys
  21. I am upgrading my motherboard CPU and Memory. I was installing the CPU cooler (Stock AMD) and it hung a little too far over the first dimm slot to put the ram in. So i am not able to boot with my second stick in. Is there a way to disable the 1 dimm in order to have my second stick in and be able to boot with the 16GB instead of just 8? (Don't have a budget currently to get a better cooler) Config: ASUS AM4 TUF Gaming X570-Plus ATX Motherboard Ryzen 5 3600 Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3000MHz C15
  22. My config is 6700k, 16 gigs of corsair vengeance ram, MSI Z170A gaming M3. Now straight to my problem, I was running two sticks of ram for quite some time, then switched to 1 stick. Now when i'm trying to go dual channel again after a few months, I can't. The 2 slots closest to the cpu just doesn't work no matter what i try. I can run both sticks in slots 3 and 4, and it works. So both ram sticks are fine. I swapped my cpu with a friend's i5 7500, then every ram slot works perfectly fine, i can run dual channel. So motherboard isn't faulty either, all the slots are working. Only the cpu is left. But I highly doubt it's gonna be the cpu because when running single channel (1 stick or 2 stick), EVERYTHING runs perfectly fine, I can stress test the cpu, scores are perfectly good, play games, fps is exactly what i should get. But can't figure out why the slot 1 and 2 just wouldn't work. Tried booting without the cpu cooler even installed, still doesn't work. I haven't tried updating my BIOS yet. Looking desperately for a solution to this. (I currently have only 1 stick to troubleshoot, didn't get a 2nd one as it wouldn't work. I need to make it working in the first 2 slots, that means problem solved. Single stick in slot 2 worked with my friend's cpu.)
  23. This Christmas i got a new pc but i have really cheaped out on my motherboard, so much so i had constant bluescreens. Turned out the fault of the BSODs was that my RAM Module HyperX Fury Black 8GB, DDR4, 2400MHz was incompatible with my A320M PRO-VD PLUS motherboard So i got a new 8 gb module and everything got fixed. Is there any way to get the older ram module compatible with the chipset so i can have 16 gb of total memory, as the 2 sticks have the same frequency as eachother ( 2400 MHz ) and are both from the same brand Like any way, no matter the lengths it takes. Thanks for reading!
  24. Hello, guys! My build: MoBo: Asus ROG Maximus Hero VIII CPU: i7 6700k RAM: 2 sets of "Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK16GX4M2A2133C13(2x8 GB in each set)" (so 4x 8GB ram sticks, 32 GB total) GPU: Gigabyte AORUS Xtreme 1080 Ti CPU Cooler: Corsair H110i Extreme 280" PSU: Corsair HX850i platinum Side-note: Out of the 4 RAM sticks I have, one was broken long ago and I never RMAd it, so my PC was running with 3 RAMs x8 GB (24 GB of ram) for 3 years, without any problems at all. Had those sticks placed in DIMM A2 + B2(as recommended for 2 sticks) + A1. I will say it again, I HAD NEVER HAD PROBLEMS WITH THIS setup for more than 2-3 years. 24gb of ram STRAIGHT TO MY PROBLEM NOW: I decided to clean up my PC and reapply thermal pastes recently. Cleaned the PC, reapplied paste, put everything back and turned it on. Everything was fine for 10-15 minutes, then I got "Blue Screen of Death". Restarted the PC and BSOD happened again after 5 minutes. It then happened another 2-3 times until I decided to check my RAMs. Downloaded Memtest86, turned it on and selected a minimum of 8 passes. During the first pass, I got 800+ CPU errors. So I thought that I, somehow, fucked something(maybe the socket pins, or tightening the screws too much) up when placing the CPU back. I removed everything and reassembled again. Put only 1 RAM this time in slot B1, PC started on first try and seemed to work fine. Turned off, checked the other 2 rams in the same slot, worked like charm, so rams had no problems. Then I started moving 1 RAM to different slots. B1 and B2 worked splendidly, while A1 and A2 wouldn't POST at all, the screen was remaining black forever. When the RAM was in A1 DIMM, I would get the 49 debug code right after starting the PC, then after some debug code cycling, it would stop at 01 code, then switch to 03 right after that and in the end a cycle of 01/03 debug codes would start. When the RAM was in A2 DIMM, I would get the CC debug code right after starting the PC, then after some debug code cycling, it would stop at 55 code. After that, I tried placing 2 RAMs together. ALL 3 RAMS were working when placed in different combinations in slot B1 and B2 simultaneously. When trying B1 + A1/A2 or B2 + A1/A2, it wouldn't post again. So, in the end, I decided to remove the CPU again and check if there were any bent pins in the CPU socket, cleaned everything AGAIN, put back the CPU cooler, placed it right in the center, hand-tightened 2 diagonally-placed screws first, so that the pressure was even on both sides. I blew the dust out of everything possible, with compressed air, even from the back side of the MoBo! Right now my PC is running Memtest86 for 8 passes, with ram placed in B1 slot. It's already the 4th pass and 0 errors. Still, I can't place any RAM in A1 and A2 slots to get back to my 24gb setup. SUMMARY of ALL the things I have tried: -Clearing Cmos. -Flashing BIOS again. -Under-tightening CPU cooler screws to the point that I almost could move it freely. -Checking all of 3 RAM sticks individually and in groups, in every slot, with every combination. -Removing all the peripherals(GPU, keyboard, mouse, etc..) except for RAMs -Changing all the cables. -Changing some of my BIOS settings(like turning on XMP, etc...) -Running 1 ram with different BIOS settings(to check if I fucked the settings up or not) -Running 3 rams with the default BIOS settings, etc... Right now I don't even know what to think of, I have tried every possible solution on the net and nothing seems to work, whenever A1 and A2 slots are in play, system doesn't POST, hanging at black screen. The system just doesn't work like it did for 2-3 years. Nothing seems to malfunction aside from these slots. If you think that my mobo is at fault now... How could it malfunction out of blue? There were no power outages in my home or anything alike. I'm out of ideas right now, please help me, someone! Sorry for this, somewhat messy, text and bad English, it's my 4th language
  25. I tried looking but couldn't find anything concrete as many different each time I looked at another post. So I have a 5.0GHZ OC on a 7700K and was going to enable the XMP profile on my RAM. EVGA SuperSC DDR4 3000MHZ 2x8GB. DIMM slot 2&4. Will setting an XMP profile mess with my CPU OC or is settings my own timings and voltage better to learn?
