Hi everyone! My name is Zak, and I am currently working on getting a degree in industrial and innovative design. I am currently working on ideas for a capstone project, and I was wondering if I could get some input on one of my potential ideas. I really like the concept of is designing a way to integrate home theater audio with furniture. There is some precedent for this type of thing with companies like lovesac integrating speakers into couch cushions, and victrola and some other companies making side table bluetooth speakers. But none of those are really high quality hifi solutions in my opinion. I was thinking of integrating audio into a tv console, in such a way that it would basically be like a giant high quality soundbar, and maybe combining that with a subwoofer concealed as a side table, but that's just one way you could do it. One company that has tried this approach and no longer exists is MeiliAudio, who designed a great looking, and apparently great sounding tv console (pictured below), but that company is gone, though hopefully not because their product wasn't a good idea. The benefit of this approach is that if you or your significant other don't like the way your living room/theatre room looks with a bunch of sound equipment in it, this would be a great discreet compromise for high quality audio that also is a high quality piece of beautiful furniture. If this is something you'd be interested in leave a reply on my post, and let me know what you think! Some things I'd love to get your opinion on are, should I be considering other types of furniture for this idea, would this fit into the market seeing as relatively cheap decent sounding soundbars exist, and if it should exist, would you prefer it as like an ikea level product (which might actually work since they have that sonos partnership), or something more handcrafted and oriented towards audiophiles?

Corsair 275R Airflow Case - Ridiculous design flaw - UPDATED with solution!!!
Guest posted a topic in Cases and Mods
Directly to the right of the two top front mounted USB ports is the Reset button. My case is under my desk. I reach down to plug in or unplug a USB and welp! My knuckle hits the reset button. Why corsair.... why?????? My only option is to unplug the little reset connector on the motherboard. -
Just wanted to start this so I could ask. Who actually likes all matte black PC cases? If so, why do you all like them? Also would love to know everyone's favorite PC case and why. Doing a bit of research for Class. Thanks!!!

Would anybody be interested in a metal (or plastic?) bracket that allows AM4 coolers with stock retention arms to be put on LGA 1511 CPUs? Like you could put a Wraith Prism on an Intel CPU. I want to start creating that socket converter, but only if there's enough public interest in it. Else I'll be wasting time and money.

Hi guys, I’ve been planning to build my second computer for a couple months now and was trying to find tutorials on how to model a PC build using Blender, SolidWorks, or any other software, as I’m planning on building a dark purple-pink themed “outer space” theme build (similar to Nebula, Jayztwocents’ personal build). I've got a parts list in mind but was hoping I could create a mock-up before actually buying any parts to see how things turned out, and make any necessary modifications. If anyone knows where I can find some videos, forums, or other information, or even have parts suggestions to match my theme that would we awesome. Thanks

Budget (including currency): INR 115,000, Including keyboard and monitor. (no mouse, i have a G502 hero) Country: India Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mainly AutoCAD, Rhino, Solidworks, Keyshot, Blender, Houdini, Cinema4D, and playing games. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I am hooked onto the LG 27UL500-W. I am ready to take recommendations for a monitor for this price-point. I want to be able to play games at 60FPS without stuttering. I dont mind playing at 1080 or 1440p at mid graphics. I will be buying everything from Amazon India. These are the parts. I don't want to go Ryzen 3000 because compatibility issues with B450, and I live in a very remote location. Nearest city is 90kms away from here, and given the human malware situation nothing can be done anyway. CPU- Ryzen 7 2700 https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B07B41717Z/ref=ox_sc_act_title_5?smid=AJRK4JF48YXA&psc=1 Motherboard - ASRock B450 Steel Legend https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B07MV7LR1B/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?smid=A1URIEFJ9EJHTB&psc=1 RAM - Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 3000Mhz https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B07B4GNMS9/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A14CZOWI0VEHLG&psc=1 Cabinet - CoolerMaster MasterBOx K501L https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B00CY8RTHS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=AJRK4JF48YXA&psc=1 Graphics Card - Zotac 2060 Super AMP! https://www.amazon.in/dp/B07TWGRW5H/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_e0oWEb1400GG0 Keyboard - Razer Cyanosa Lite https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B07Z5M6D5Z/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_2?smid=A14CZOWI0VEHLG&psc=1 Monitor - LG UltraFine 4K 27UL500-W https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B07PGL2WVS/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=A14CZOWI0VEHLG&psc=1 Storage - I need help with this. I have a 240GB Sandisk SSD Plus from back in 2014/2015 that i had been using in my old laptop. I will keep that. Should I get a 500GB M.2 SSD maybe something like Corsair P1 or WD Blue(Green/Black? I dont understand the difference), or get a 1TB HDD and save some money. Power Supply - What should I go with? Is Antec NeoEco 650M 80 Plus Bronze good enough for this? Antec one is cheap too. CPU Cooler - Will the AMD cooler be good enough? I dont plan on overclocking this computer at all. The case comes with 2 fans anyway. Is there a decent cabinet that you could suggest? I dont want RGB, and I dont care for TG, Its going to be sitting on the floor or somewhere not to be seen much. Now if i go without a cooler i can save some money and get an M.2 SSD intead of a harddrive. or best case both. I would also like the possibility of having WiFi/Bluetooth on the computer. How should I optimize it. I am going over budget with this build anyway. So i dont really want to stretch it even further. This is going to be the first time building a PC for me. I have only been getting Laptops for the last 15-16 years that I have had a computer. Edit: Added Wifi/Bluetooth queries.

So i'm currently in the process of upgrading my old i7-4790 CPU and i've been having an back and forth with one of my friends on what i should upgrade to. To be quite honest i don't know much about CPU performance so im curious to hear what you all know. I've been hearing a lot good about AMD recently so i'm really unsure on what i should upgrade to. My upgrade budget is around $1k including motherboard & ram. I mainly use my current system for Graphic Design, Photo & Video Editing, Playing Video Games, 3D modelling & Rendering. I really hope you guys will enlighten me on what i should look for thanks a lot in advance!

Yo! I'm a graphic designer who's interested in getting some new monitors. I've been planning on having a x3 monitor setup including 2 good side monitors and 1 superior in the middle. Since my setup is located in the corner of my room i'm looking for something that can be as close to the wall as possible. I'm currently running a SC 980ti. My work includes Frontend Design & Development, Graphic Design, Photo & Video editing and gaming when im not doing the rest My budget is around 1000-1.500 USD Please let me know your recommendations and thanks a lot in advance!

Hey guys, so in the last 20 days, I got into my head to try and come up with a new custom case design. Not only to test my skills in SketchUp, as I haven't used it for years, but also to test and learn a bit more about pc case design. The idea came to me when I saw the Fractal Design Era case. and... I loved the case, honestly. It was simple, beautiful and sleek. No rgb, no glass or acrylic or any of those. It isn't to say that I dislike them, but I can overlook them pretty easily. But two things bothered me with it. Cable management was the first, the second was the airflow. So far, this is the base I've developed. A bit stuck in terms of outside design now but, what do you think? (Size is 162mm x 318mm x 359mm (WxDxH))

Hi All, I'm currently putting together my first PC build and want some expert input on the monitor i should go with. I need a monitor that is best for my graphic design and photography/video work, but i'd also like to enjoy gaming on it as well. I play both FPS and RPG games currently and would like to get great performance for these sorts of games. I'd prefer a monitor size of ` 30"+. Thank you!

Greetings LTT community! I am here to ask you about case recommendations I am building a new PC, probably an AMD for a change (last AMD one was a 64 Athlon eons ago :O) depending of hard reviews of Ryzen, Ryzen MB's and Vega, since Thunderbolt 3 is still very difficult to find and PCIe 4.0 is still ways ago (current MB and processors does not support it, as well as Cannonlake and Coffeelake) and to implement (maybe Icelake/Zen+ & Navi/AfterVolta). My build is something in the line of Ryzen7 1700, AM4 X370, 16/32GB DDR4, Vega10/11, M.2 NVME + 4TB HDD. Not interested on an Blu-ray drive, I prefer air flow. When i looked at the Fractal Design Define C i was hooked! I've been following since the R5 and S, it is compact yet spacey inside, quiet, simple, stylish, lots of cooling options, well you know is Fractal Design. Just one thing... they don't sell it in my country, here is mostly Corsair, Cooler Master, NZXT, Thermaltake, Aerocool... In Win... Pixxo... Enermax? Others are pretty rare (like Be Quiet! is a rare find) So i ask all of you, any recommendations or great picks that are similar to the Fractal Design Define C, Mid-tower, ATX, preferably silent cases, windowed panel is welcome, love to see inside even if it looses a dBa . Thanks in advance!

Starting a new graphic design job this week, and I'm already thinking ahead of what kind of monitor to use for the office, since I doubt I'll like the the they'll provide me. At home I'm using a Dell U2414H, and that's fine for me and my freelance work. However, I'm looking for something a bit more substantial for the agency. Looking for: 1440p, 24-27", loads of connectivity, <$1,000, and of course good color outta the box... If you work in design, print, or photography, what are your favorites? Thanks!

Hi, I want to make concept for custom wooden case. I do not have spare parts to experiment with and I cannot find much information regarding PC parts manufacturing standards, norm etc. Please help me out with either some keywords, dictionary, or some resources on dimension, ISO, standars in general. My google searching was rather unfruitful. And i need to search, from where to where is PC-E slot, what size is IO shield (or is it MoBo specific), and ton of other measurements. So there would be a lot of questions and I do not want to bother you with all of them. Please help me out with some resources on PC part dimension in general, slots, expansions, screws, holders, standardized dimension of coolers and so on. As I mentioned before, I do not want to bother you with all of this singular questions. But i would appreciate some info, general resources, standards, norm and so on. But I do not now all required terminology and slang. I do not consider myself as computer illiterate person, I know how to google, but i do not know how to google for this specific problem. I know how to build a custom PC. But if I want to design something, it need to be useful and functioning. And not pulled randomly out of my nose and eyeballed. CNC does not work that way. Thank you very much in advance for any tips and directions! Best regards Oltskul

Hi guys I'm designing a case, and i'm on the final stage with it. Today I asked myself about the possibility to put a 2.5 slot card in a small form factor case, as almost noone can fit one. Would it be a deal breaker for you? to have the width of the case enlarged of 1.5 cm ( from 16.5 to 18 cm)? Is it for you a good feature the fact that you can install an oversized gpu? The case would also become 1-1.5 cm shorter ( i would change the internal placement of some stuff). I would love to hear your feedback

I want to upgrade my rig really soon and started to look for a case. My current is the Cougar Evolution which is a nice case, if you are blind. I am looking for a minimalistic case with a good build quality. My research found the Fractal R5, the Fractal R2 XL, the InWin 909 and the be quiet Dark Base 900. My favourite thing would be a Fractal R5 XL with a USB C Front, but you can't have everything. Maybe you guys can give me some additional options and information about good looking minimalistic cases. Cheers

Buy Surface Studio on Amazon: http://geni.us/kEA1Zpw The Surface Studio was, by far, one of the most hyped releases of 2016. Is it possible for a device almost solely aimed at creatives to live up to that hype?

Hello everyone ! I am soon about to move into a personal office, in which I am going to work on different web design projects that I am currently working on my Asus k555l laptop. My main dilemma right now is this - Should I get a new set-up all together, desktop monitor etc. for the sake of different resolution testing (my laptop is only 1366x768p so I have to zoom in and out on browsers to simulate other resolutions) and for better performance (this laptop is kind of struggling with Photoshop's newer versions at higher res images) or should I continue working mainly on my laptop and just get a Full HD monitor so I can preview my projects on it? Current laptop has a i5-5200U dual core at max 2.7 Ghz GeForce 940M with 2 gigs of memory 1TB hard drive 15.6'' display at 1366x768 res and 6 gigs of RAM Honestly I dont really have any idea what I should be aiming at if I decide to get a desktop. Probably something like an i5 again but quad core? I am guessing the 940 GeForce with 2gigs is gonna do just fine as a desktop version compared to the mobile one I have right now. The hard drive doesnt really matter, currently I am working on small projects, none of which go over a gigabyte of memory in total so storage isnt really an issue at this point, maybe an upgrade later on will be required though. I am planing to use 2 monitors in both cases, weather I bring my laptop or I get a new desktop And trying not to blow a budget of 600-ish dollars. So which option would make more sense in my current scenario ? Thanks in advance !

I just found out that I'll be getting far less hours for my summer job than expected and I need money for a laptop next time school starts. My solution: starting a very small business, but ideas are not flowing. So far I realize that I'm good with tech (identifying good specs, building pcs, etc.) and graphic designing, but I have no idea how to turn these skills into a potential business! All I'm asking are simple suggestions I could develop. I appreciate the help!

For those who are looking for a monitor that will fit into their sleek and elegant life style, then look no further than the AOC PDS241 and AOC PDS271 designed by Studio F.A. Porsche. Both of them features a 3 sided edgeless display with a thickness of just 5.2mm. AH-IPS panel with a 16:9 ratio at FullHD resolution of 1920x1080 at 60Hz. 178 degree viewing angle,1000:1 contrast ratio, 4ms response time, supports tilt up to 21.5 degrees, and Blue Light and AOC Anti Flicker Free technology to protect vision from harmful blue wave lengths, and reduce eye strain during long use. It covers 100% of the sRGB and 90% of the NTSC color gamut. A single HDMI port as well as a 2-prong power jack is attached to a separated power adapter via USB Type C, that has a cable routed through the monitor stand to reduce cable clutter. They will be available in June for the price of $240 for the 24 inch and $330 for the 27 inch. http://aoc-europe.com/en/products/pds241#product-detail-technical http://aoc-europe.com/en/products/specification/pds271 http://techreport.com/news/31789/porsche-and-aoc-present-the-pds241-and-pds271-monitors

Hi guys, this is my first post on this forum. I want to build a 2000$ Computer! (Monitor, Peripherals, Windoes etc.) Aim: A Build that is completely white, in and put, inside an NZXT 340 case. Everything about this build should be white. I also want Apple peripherals (Keyboard and Mouse). The Build has to seamlessly fit into my office which also follows the white theme. I like the clean look of the Apple peripherals, but dislike Apple Computers, which is why I want this kind of build. It should have an R7 processor (1700 if possible). Thanks for any advice and potential build.

I am fairly new to PC building. I have never build one before mostly just watched videos. I am considering building my first PC. I need it to be able to function well with programs like SolidWorks, Rhino, Keyshot, and other 3D modeling and rendering programs. As well as being able to handle to odd game here and there. I am not sure with a build like this what is important, memory, cpu, gpu and such what is the most important and where the money should be spent. I want to keep spending as low as possible.

I have interest in learning game designing or development. I know they both are 2 different things but then would like to know which I would like more. If someone could help me get started with it as to what to start with and how to start with it. I really want to learn. If anyone wants to help me please let me know or even if there are any tutorials I can watch.
