I bought new nvme ssd so I have to reinstall windows on my pc. I try to go into bios but I CANT. there is no bios screen on my display (No signal on display), screen turn on after booting to windows - log in screen. If i spam [DEL] key during start up pc goes to black screen forever (no signal).I did change hdmi cables. I did reset/clear my cmos, remove battery. I did flash my bios (msi live update, bios btn doesnt work for me ... maybe bad flash drive). I am still getting black screen/ no signal in bios. After wasted day I took my pc to work to try it with different monitor and I found out that bios is working great with different monitors.... (I bought the monitor month ago after that I havent noticed my monitor is not showing bios screen because I dont have to go into my BIOS). Can anyone help me to fix this issue and manage the monitor is showing bios output? or the display is "damaged" ? (after booting to windows, screen is runing absolutely fine - no issue with it). Thank you veru much. Dell 27 Curved Gaming Monitor -S2721HGF MB: msi b450-a pro CPU: r5 1600 RAM: 16gb ddr4 Crucial Ballistix GPU: sapphire rx580 4gb win10 64bit

Hello, I seem to be experiencing slow USB file transfer speeds. I have a Dell Inspiron 7586 laptop. It has two USB Type-A 3.0 ports. From what I understand, USB 3.0 is supposed to have a maximum transfer speed of 600 MB/s; however, I seem to be getting a maximum of about 50 MB/s (averages about 25 MB/s). I'm transferring files to/from a SanDisk USB 3.1 Gen 2, 128 GB flash drive. I was wondering if this flash drive is backwards compatible with USB 3.0; if it is, I have no idea what's causing this. I've already tried selecting "better performance" in the device policy settings. This made no difference. If you need further information, please don't hesitate to ask. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time!

Hello guys. I can´t change my Nvidia Surround resolution above 3072 x 768 and i think the problem might be that one of my monitors has the firmware version M0B102 and the other two are on M0B103. I just can´t find out how to update the firmware version on the Dell AW2721D. Can anybody help me?

Hello everyone, I recently bought an Alienware M15 R5. However the 512GB NVME SSD is not enough storage for me so I want to upgrade. I was considering buying this Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2TB or this Samsung 980 Pro 2TB but I do not know if it will fit in my laptop. Thanks for all the help in advance, SpaceBurn.

I'm going to put more ram in the my Dell Precision T7610 Server/Workstation I already have 64GB of SK Hynix 8GB 1Rx4 DDR3-1866 PC3-14900R REG ECC 240p RDIMM HMT41GR7AFR4C-RD and I found a 24 GB kit online of the same exact memory. Can I mix the 2 together and get 88Gb of ram or do I have to get enough for 128 GB of ram. My motherboard has 16 memory slots and I checked the ram compatibility with my motherboard FYI.

Hey everyone, I have Dell xps 8700 with intel i7-6700k, 32 GB RAM, 500GB M.2 SATA, 2TB HDD with OEM exclusive motherboard. My system has weird issue that i am not able to figure it out after all troubleshooting efforts, I hope someone can help me here. Issue is, everytime I start up PC it will stuck on Dell logo screen nothing happens. So I have to hold power button and power down system. 5 Sec. later if I turn on PC, it will boot up just fine like nothing is wrong with system. No error report, no crash event or any software error. Everything just works fine. Now if I shut down system and attempt to power back on immidiately, it will do the same thing that mentioned above. I did bios rest, troubleshoot RAM/storage, replace CMOS battery, took system apart and reinstall fresh windows but issue is still there. DELL support wasn't much of support either. Please help me out with whatelse i can do to troubleshoot and solve this issue. This is my backup system but it has been so good to me for many years that I wanna keep using. Thank you so much in advance and I appreciate your time. (Apologies for weak english)

Hey there! Im using a Dell Inspiron 15 5502 ( Intel Core i5 1135G7 CPU and Nvidia Mx330 dGPU, 8GB ram, 512 GB SSD, and its CPU Temps go really high during video conferencing (75c-85c) Which is really annoying as it starts to throttle and the laptop starts freezing and stuttering. And also the GPU clocks reduce ( to 139 mhz) when the temps hit 67c, Making the Game completely Unplayable. What do I do? Even normal browsing and discord is putting the temps at 65c to 70c

Basically my dads forgotten his laptop sign-in password, Its a local account not connected to Microsoft, so it been a bit extra tough. The data in his SSD is really important so I can't factory reset it entirely, Otherwise I could've easily cleaned it up and installed fresh windows. Its a dell Inspiron 7706 2n1 Laptop Processor 11th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-1165G7 Processor (12MB Cache, up to 4.7 GHz) Operating System Windows 10, English Memory* 16GB, 2x8GB, DDR4, 3200MHz Hard Drive 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive These are the basic specs, it's the core I7 variant. I've tried a lot of methods to bypass the sign-in including Using the recover image function and swapping the Ease of Access feature to cmd Prompt. ( Didn't work even opening image recovery required a password) Lazesoft Software I followed through on the tutorials present on the internet and Youtube, but it wouldn't detect my ssd, I checked out the support page and they said to download some drivers since some Laptops use Intel Rapid Storage Technology to improve SATA hard disk performance. If the Intel RST is set as AHCI or RAID mode, you need to load the Intel Rapid Storage Technology (Intel RST) RAID/AHCI driver. ( Did it and it didn't work, they were right about Intel RST being on though, because I checked the BIOS out and did find RAID On and the description mentions Intel RST) Tired using cmd prompt on a bootable USB to get into Local Disk C and change the User password ( Unfortunately it didn't work as it wouldn't detect my ssd either) Tutorial I was using P.s I'm not particularly tech savy, I do know a bit of my way around a computer though. Any help would be appreciated

Hello again. Bunch of random posts going on here from yours truly, but that cannot be helped. I have a chassis for an EMC VNX 5100. Very old, but I have access and want to use it for storage. However, I have had some issues with connecting to the box itself. The box itself is on the network at its default address (192.168.1.1), however, it refuses to connect. After doing a port scan I found out that EVERY SINGLE PORT is closed. I have no idea why, but it is. The only other way to connect to it is through a proprietary serial connector (image attached) by setting it up with a Dial-up connection on Windows 7. The only problem is this cable doesn't work. Dell forums don't seem to be much help, and I can't find any helpful documentation on this. Any ideas/advice? Also I have not been able to find where to get this specific connection, as it appears to be proprietary.

I have a Dell G15 5515 Ryzen Edition, bought in October 2021 on Amazon. This has BSODs which Dell is not interested to fix. Instead they want me to subscribe their some kind of support plan in order to get support. What newegg? In Germany Amazon is also shady. I have attached my review on Amazon which explains how Amazon stole original SSD when sent for service. Hello All, I have an older decommissioned work laptop that I have been working on refurbishing. It is a Dell Inspiron 15 5567 with an Intel 7th gen i5, dual-core CPU. I completed a RAM upgrad and a HDD to SSD upgrade that both went well. I then used the laptop as a stationary work-from-home machine for a few weeks. I then took it a step farther and attempted a battery replacement and thermal paste re-application over this past weekend. After putting the machine back together, I could not get to the Dell splash screen. I hit the power button, power button LED and front indicator LED both come on solid white, fans come on pretty close to full tilt, I don't get any sort of display, laptop stay powered on with fans going for about a minute, then shuts off. I do not get any error LEDs. I took the machine completely apart the next day using Dell's support manual and put it back together. I replaced the thermal place a second time as part of this process. I still get nothing. I can get the machine to do this start-to-shut-down sequence on either battery power or with AC power only (battery unplugged from MB). I've done a couple troubleshooting steps. Dell outlines a process to reset the Real Time Clock (RTC) but I can't seem to get it to take. I've tried just holding the power button with no battery or AC power connected to get rid of any residual power on the MB. I have also tried booting without RAM installed, BIOS battery removed, SSD uplugged, etc. basically trying to rule out faulty parts. Could it be possible I used too much thermal paste when re-applying? When I took the heat sink off the first time I did notice there was only a thin layer of paste applied to the heat sink itself. When I re-applied thermal paste, I put it on the chips themselves. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

Dell and it's ever worsening customer service
Iudeen posted a topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
I have purchased a new dell laptop and it was faulty out of the box. I rised a complaint on Twitter to Dell. Troubleshooting went on for 6 hours! No resolution as their so called "Technical Support" has no clue on the device. They told a replacement will be provided but told no timeline, because it's a different team. And when following up, they have no clue about what the current status is. Is there anyone I can reach out to, through email and get my grievances sorted? Also, inform people! Beware of Dell, they really f* your peace. -
Hey everyone! I have a Dell Inspiron 3470 at work that I used to have some weird problems with random processes having high disk usage and quite oftenly the task manager would show 100% disk usage but it wasn't very bad, it was still usable, until all of a sudden it got weirdly slow with lots of stutters in certain apps, like, I had to join a meeting on Teams and I could hear the voices just fine but the program would take forever to respond and the video would freeze for minutes, display a new frame and freeze back again. I got sick of it and used the Dell recovery boot and had it download a fresh windows to make the cleanest install as possible and yet even after a fresh install of windows I'm still having issues. When I open any browser it stutters like crazy but when I open explorer or some other apps it seems very fast like a fresh install would feel. I had a feeling it was the HDD then ran the Dell full verification, no errors were found. Ran Malwarebytes and also nothing found. I already updated everything I could and no luck, now I'm a bit lost on what could it be, any help is highly appreciated.

I have a Dell G5 5587 which is 2 years old now, it thermal throttles a lot but i have put up with it, even when browsing or idle-in, it is at 70 degrees, and as expected reaches 95+ when gaming or doing anything. I tried undervolting at -135mv but it doesn't do anything and yes the undervolt is applied I checked in HWinfo. Does this have anything to do with the battery? as in diagnostics my battery life is about 40%. If not how can i fix this throttling? Please help. Thank you.

What could be my problem? I put another x5680 in and took out the other and gives me different lights then shuts off. i recorded it here. Video 1 will be The first processor I got and Video 2 is the second processor I got. I will also share the ram sticks I received. An Extra note that I put the two sticks that made 16GB in Ram Slots 1 and 2. I have recently purchased a PowerEdge R430 and had a few questions. The configuration I ordered contains one e5-2630v4, but I would like to upgrade it upon arrival. I am looking at getting either another e5-2630v4 with 10 cores (bringing the server to 20 cores spread across 2 CPUs at 2.2GHz (3.1 boost). My question is: Should I just get the $120 2630v4 or should I sell the one that is in there and buy an e5-2698v4 for $400-500 with 20 cores clocked at 2.2GHz (3.6 boost)? My knowledge tells me that the singular 20 core is best, especially since I will eventually be able to upgrade to two of them (and that is what I eventually want regardless of what I do now). I also believe that it is better to have all of the cores on one CPU, since there is less performance lost when the CPUs both have to communicate between each other and the chipset. I am planning to use this server to offer up virtualized computing to customers and so I need the core count to be higher than ten. Also, if I am running something like ESXi or linux with Docker, how many system resources should I allocate to the host OS/hypervisor. I was thinking about reserving two cores and 8gb of ram, or does ESXi do this on its own and not really need dedicated processor cores to manage these instances? Edit: The server also contains 32GB of ram, I believe DDR4@2133MHz. I plan on offering package deals of 4GB of ram per server core, so I would need to upgrade to 80GB (probably going to get 96 because it is an even multiple of that 32 that is already in the system). If I run only 1 CPU, that would give me just 6 RAM slots, meaning I would have to purchase 16GB sticks, and possibly having to sell the RAM that is already in the system, since these cheap ebay listers usually just stuff these servers full of small capacity sticks. I suppose regardless I should buy higher capacity DIMMs if I am planning on eventually upgrading the server to have 40 cores with 192Gb RAM or more.
