I am ready to install CM11 snapshot on my half dead Sony Xperia Z2. I want to be able to restore the stock ROM, I did a backup with the native Sony PC Companion, but the 4gb backup size seems too small. What must I do before I install CM on my Z2. The warranty is already void, the touchscreen is half dead, and the stock ROM is so unstable, so I would assume that even the Lolipop snapshot would be more stable.

When I was trying to root and unlock the bootloader for my OnePlus One, for some reason I was unable to root (some type of error would show up, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling my ADB drivers, but no luck). The tutorial I was following (this one: https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/guide-oneplus-one-how-to-unlock-bootloader-install-custom-recovery-and-root.64487/) said rooting wasn't required and I could just flash a ROM, so I took the latter option and flashed a CM 12 Nightly instead. But I realize now that I wish I figured out how to root it because there's an app that would save a lot of time when flashing the next nightly (it's called CyanDelta) that I want to use, but it requires root permissions and will not work. So is it possible for me to still root my phone even though I already unlocked my bootloader? UPDATE: Found the problem and solved it Flashed SuperSU. UPDATE 2: "There is no SuperSU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it." What do I do now?

So I successfully flashed the latest CM12 Nightly onto my OnePlus (it only took me a few hours to figure out ) and so far Lollipop is fast. It's still a little unfinished, for example the ripple animation when tapping on things in the settings will stutter and flicker quite often. There's also no home screen animation settings or the option to hide the Google Bar at the top of the screen, etc., ect... I'm mostly missing the gesture features when the screen is off and you could do a V to turn on the flashlight, > or < to switch between songs, just a few things. I'm more curious when the OnePlus One version (S release) of CyanogenMod 12 will be released. Any ETA or news or rumors when that's going to be released?

Hi, I'm new here, I mostly post in Mobile Devices, but I figured this question doesn't belong there. So yesterday for the first time I unlocked my bootloader and flashed the January 11th CyanogenMod 12 Nightly for the OnePlus One (bacon). I installed the TWRP custom recovery and everything is working! I downloaded an app called CyanDelta and it allows me to download the latest nightly (this one being Jan. 12th nightly) CM12 on my phone. I was wondering- do I need to completely wipe everything again if I were to flash the new one? I'd rather not, but I will if I have too. Looking for some clarification.

I have an inquiry about custom ROMs that goes as such: If I were to install a ROM, would it be feasible to reinstall the ROM that the OEM installed completely as if I never uninstalled it. This is not for warranty, as I already voided that by fixing my previously water damaged Xperia Z2 manually. I want to install and try out a CM12 nightly but I also want to potentially go back to the Sony ROM in future when they finally go to lollipop or if I find CM12 unsuitable for daily usage. I did not do anything yet, but if going back is possible, I will probably install the ROM after spending a good hour or two looking up and reading/watching tutorials on how to do it. (This is a repost of a comment that I made on the pinned official custom ROM discussion thread.)

My phone is rooted, and running android 4.4.2. Please let me know if you can help or need more info! Thanks in advance!

I got an invite and I'm still wondering whether or not it's worth buying it now or waiting for future phones that will have better specs or possibly a revision of the One, and I would like to know your experiences with the One if you have used it before.

This is a follow-up to a previous post I made asking suggestions for ROMs for my old Note 2. The most popular ROMs were Cyanogenmod and Paranoid Android and since I'm not completely familiar with what they offer on top of stock android I decided to make this post. Firstly - I'm not trying to start a ROM war on which one is "better" or anything. My main questions are: What features do the ROM you use offer that you make use of regularly? How stable is the experience? As the Note 2 is a legacy device, how promptly do they (legacy devices) get updates? PA is sorta appealing to me more at the moment since from what I've read they try to stick to the stock android theme which appeals to me but on the previous thread someone said doing stuff on it was comparatively more complicated than CM which makes me hesitate. Oh and if someone could link me to a good beginner's guide to installing either of these ROMs it'd be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

So I'd like to put CyanogenMod on my One (M7) because the version AT&T made for the phone has just recently become even MORE bloated and disgusting. The issue is I'm not sure if it's possible to re-install the version of android AT&T has put on my device. Does the one-click install advertised on CyanogenMods site completely wipe the original version? If it does, is it possible to return the phone back to the factory install of android?

After the news that Micromax is releasing a $140 smartphone running Cyanogen Mod, there has been speculations that OnePlus will ditch Cyanogen Mod. It seems that might be true judging from a resent post on the OnePlus forum. OnePlus has announce a contest to name the new upcoming custom ROM. http://www.zdnet.com/article/140-smartphone-running-cyanogenmod-released-by-micromax/ https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/contest-oneplus-rom-you-name-it.208689/

Hello everyone! I have a Samsung S3 Mini for a year and a half now, it became really laggy so my friend told me to put custom ROM on it, it might help, so i did. Everything works perfect exept one thing. The problem doesnt appear if listen to music, but if i start sending SMS or start using more demanding apps like Facebook, Snapchat, etc., it appears. The problem is when i fully charge it to 100% then use it to like 70% or so it shuts down and reboots and it says that i have 1% battery and it will keep doing that. If i pull the battery out and back in and turn it on, the battery will come back to like 60%. If i start music at that time again, nothing will happen as soon as i start sending SMS and Facebook and that stuff, that will repeat. I need to fix that its becoming really annoying, cant even send messages normally... Thanks for help!

Hi, I have been running Cyanogenmod 11(CM11) 4.4.2 on my Find 5 a few months ago, but after a while, I went back to the stock ColorOS ROM because reasons. Now, everytime I try to install any 4.4 Kitkat based custom ROM using TWRP, the installation fails.I have tried installing a new Kernel for 4.4(which I have never used before for installing Kitkat and the installation went perfectly fine) and that still doesn't work for me.Also in some apps that require root access I am told that my device is not rooted, when in fact I have rooted my phone... Any help would be greatly appreciated Also I would be glad if someone could link a tutorial on how to root the device because the method I found doesn't seem to be working, and a stable 4.4Kitkat ROM.Thank you!

Hi, a while back I used cyanogenmod tool to get my os swapped, now I got cyanogenmod11 on my Samsung S3 however, I haven't seen even one update for my phone When I check the S3 page for my phone (19300) I see that the only CGM 11 images are snapshots, and that they are updated daily. Why am I not getting any of these images? The reason for asking is that my camera is really buggy and crashes.

Hi, I dont know if this is the right place to ask, but I've been having some trouble with my Samsung Galaxy S4 lately. About a year ago, I installed cyanogenmod, and everything worked fine. But about a month ago, every time i locked my phone, I would lose my signal. The only thing that makes the signal come back, is turning on and off flight mode. The weird thing is that this only happens when I'm at work or away from home. Although it says i have no signal, I am actually able to recieve calls, but not make calls to other people. I have tried going into testing, but I dont really know what I'm doing. I would really appreciate some help

Hi. So I got an S4 about two months ago, and though that I'll just stick with what it now came with (Android 4.4.2). So I resently got tired of all the preloaded shit that Samsung fills their phones with, so I wanted to try out Cyanogenmod. So I read a lot about it first, to know how to and what was required to do it (first time rooting/flashing an Android phone). So I got my phone rootet without any problems with this guide, and installed ClockworkMod Recovery via their ROM Manager, with help from this thead and this video. But the problem starts here, there's no "Backup and Restore" option in the menu, when I boot into Recovery mode, so I can't make a backup of the current ROM. Have I done something wrong or did I miss something? Thanks Edit: It's the "i9505" model, not "i9509" as in the title.

I'm about to put CyanogenMod on my HTC one M7. Will I still be able to trade it in for an upgrade or other things? Will installing a custom ROM or rooting void anything?

Hi, so I've used the cyanogenmod tool to get CM11 on my Samsung Galaxy S3, and as far as I cand see it's a snapshot release from some time ago. My camera has been a bit buggy, and so I thought I'd update my snapshot with the latest one. What I'm wondering about though is, what should I copy backup? I'm using clockworkmod to do a full backup so I can restore everything back the way it was if something goes wrong. What should I backup with other tools, and with what apps?

Okay guys, galaxy note 1 is gonna get here within the week and it's gonna come loaded with CM10.2 as I heard it performs fantastic with the note's hardware. (basically android 4.3) What are some tips for this version of Droid? Never used Androids before apart from fiddling with 'em at the best buy stands  . How do you use this OS?

I have an old galaxy tab 2 (gt-p3110) that was abandoned for reasons of the buy of a better android device, my nexus 5. Yesterday I decided to put a cyanogenmod in it, just to make the user experience better enough to me starting using it again, but shit happens. I was having some trouble with loading the stable rom files to the sd card, so I loaded the latest version, but when I was trying to install it, it keeping showing the status 7 error, which I learn to solve here by editing one file. But now, after installing the cyanogenmod my tablet wont boot, it keep spinning the cyanogenmod logo forever and ever. I need help restoring it to the original samsung mode or to the latest stable version of cyanogenmod (which I think is v.10) without making anything on the android side, because it wont boot I count with you guys! since now, thanks!!!!!
