  1. So I've been picking out parts that I want to eventually buy for a PC I'm going to build. I decided pretty early that I wanted it to be custom water cooled, and was quickly pointed to the O11 Dynamic EVO as a good case for that. Fast forward and I'm picking out a pump/reservoir combo for my loop. The EKWB Quantum Kinetic TBE 300 D5 PWM D-RGB pump looks really good, but I'm worried that I may not have enough space for everything in my loop if I choose it. It's not a problem with whether or not I can fit the pump (as you can vertically mount a 360mm radiator in the case), but whether or not I'll have enough space for the tubing afterwards. Should I stick with the 300mm or downsize to the 200mm?
  2. Heyo I want to have a full cover monoblock for an X570 board similar to that of the X570 Aqua (no longer available btw), but the waterblock doesn't exist. Is there some place that I could go to have them make a custom waterblock?
  3. Hello everyone. I have a few questions about hardline liquid cooling. I have built and torn down multiple computers in the past, both high end and low end. I have been in the pc spectrum for quite a few years now, and I think I am finally going to build a hardline liquid cooled pc next year since it seems that new cpus and gpus will not be available until then. Is Corsair's custom cooling any good? I have seen videos about them and some reviews, but I was wondering on how they compare to EK's cooling solutions. I also noticed that there are quite a few different sizes of fittings and tube size that can be used. What sizes would y'all recommend? My last question is which pump to use. Are there multiple types of Asatek pumps that work better in certain situations? The pc that I would be building would have a Ryzen 9 5900x and an rtx 3080 (or whatever Nvidia makes that replaces it if they do decide to). Thanks!
  4. Budget (including currency): ~$3500 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Cyberpunk 2077 Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I'm building from scratch. My current gaming rig/work PC is an Intel 9600K with a Radeon RX 580 that I'm lucky to get 30 FPS out of with Cyberpunk 2077. SOOOOOO, I'm pushing the limit on everything with the new build so that I can play on my brand new LG CX OLED. Most of the components have been purchased. I'm building over the next weeks/months, and everything can be RMA'd, so I would welcome any parts recommendations!!! New Rig: CPU: AMD 5600X (I debate whether I'll have better bragging rights with a heavily overclocked 5600X vs the 5900X. I have the budget to go up, but I see it as diminishing returns in gaming performance.) GPU: ASUS Nvidia 3080 with EK waterblock (It has very slightly lower performance spec compared to other 3080 on paper, but the added value of not messing with warranty by self installing a waterblock gives me peace of mind) MB: ASUS Crosshair VIII Hero (WIFI) X570 Cooler: EK Monoblock for Crosshair VIII Hero X570 Memory: 32gb GSkill Trident Z Neo DDR4 3600 CL:16 PSU: Seasonic Focus PX750 Platinum (I'm on the fence whether 750 is enough for a heavily overclocked CPU & GPU...May change to 850) OS Drive: WD Black SN850 NVME 1tb Mass Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2tb Chassis: Lian Li O11 Dynamic XL GPU Vertical Mount: Fractal Design Flex B-20 (I'm way up on the fence about this. 1: PCIe 3.0 cables with 4.0 components. 2: Will Fractal Design work in the Lian Li? 3: I don't have any sort of rig to test run prior to full system build to troubleshoot compatibility issues.) Reservoir/Pump: EEK-Quantum Reflection PC-O11D XL D5 PWM D-RGB - Plexi (This is turning into a bit of a problem because it is designed for 2-radiators, so I'm going to have to play with tubing layouts) Radiators: 3-Hardware Labs Black Ice Nemesis 360TS (I could go thicker on all 3, but it's overkill already) Fans: 10-EK Vardar EVO RGB 120mm (I really struggled to find a decent looking RGB fan with high static pressure that looked good in goth "push" and "pull" configuration. Please give me fan recommendations!!!) Fittings: I really want to use Primochill VUE coolant, so I'm thinking I may have to purchase Primochill fittings. They look great, and have amazing color options, but they are PRICEY! (Please recommend alternatives) Coolant: Primochill VUE (I know its controversial, but it looks SO GOOD! I'm willing to put in the elbow grease to prep the components and change the coolant probably every 6 months) Tubing: I don't have a tube in mind right now. I figure all rigid PETG is about the same. Probably going to go with 13mm (5/8) OD. Temperature Sensor / flow meter: Koolance SEN-FM18T10 Coolant Flow Meter with Temperature Sensor, 10K (I can't find any reviews for this model, but it looks like it should do a good job.) This is my 6th PC build and first attempt at water cooling. Any help is going to be VERY much appreciated. Thanks for checking this out, I will check back in when I start receiving components.
  5. This is my first custom water cooling build, i want it to be matte black with yellow highlights in the coolant and sleeved cables. Is there anything im missing? I would also like to water cool the GPU but im not sure where to start and i wouldn't like to add to overall price - there is a cheaper 2070 super the GALAX GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 1-Click OC 8GB Video Card which takes about AU$150 off the total price but with the price of the GPU block i'm not sure if its worth it - some advice on this would be greatly appreciated Anyone got any tips, especially as id like it to be hard tubing, ? It would be especially helpful if anyone was to give me a cheaper altenative with the custom watercooling products that still involved hard line tubing too An any general feedback would be greatly appreciated. Case - NZXT h510 MOBO - Asus Strix ROG B450-f CPU - Ryzen 5 3600X Memory - Hyper X predator RGB 16GB (2 X 8GB) 3200mhz GPU - Gigabyte Geforce RTX 2070 Super OC PSU - Silverstone ET700-MG Gold Modular Storage - Samsung 860 QVO 1TB\ Front case fans - Corsair air series af140 , Id like these to be mounted in the front of the case in front of the radiator so that you can't see them, is this possible? Cable kit - Tmod Yellow/Black sleeved extension kit Watercooling components Resevoir - EKWB EK-RES X3 150 Reservoir CPU Block - EKWB EK-Velocity CPU Waterblock for AMD Sockets - Copper + Acetal Pump - EKWB EK-XTOP Revo D5 RGB PWM - Sleeved Cable Plexi Top and Pump Tubing - EKWB EK-HD PETG Tube 10/12mm 1000mm - 2 Pieces Fittings - ek-HTC Classic 12mm - black x 11 Radiator - EK coolstream SE280 Splitter - EK-AF T-splitter 3F G/14 - black Coolant - EKWB EK Cryofuel Solid laguna Yellow 1L ( i know the res and pump would be cheaper in a combination but i'd like a rather large resevoir to add the colour and kind of show off the coolant and to my knowledge the case can only have a 150mm tall resevoir. My heart is also set on this case as i love the matte black finish, but if there is another case similiar that would make the building process simpler or cheaper im open for suggestions. <3)
  6. I want to know exactly how many tall reservoirs I can fit in the ethnoo luxe TG. I am thinking of water cooling 2 GPUs and the motherboard and CPU with sperate reservoirs. Is it possible to fit 2 reservoirs?
  7. Hey guys! This is my first post here, and I'm really excited to be a part of this forum! This problem has been ravaging me for two weeks now; I've spent day and night trying to figure out the solution, but after hours of researching other forums and this forum, I could not find any answer (the solutions to previous problems simply didn't work for me ). So recently, my twin AMD Radeon 7970's in crossfire have been experiencing a major issue. Whenever I put a GRAPHICS load onto my computer, the screen turns dark, loses video signal, and the audio starts looping and buzzing, and the PC becomes unresponsive. The only way to get out of this is a hard restart. My system SPECS: MOBO: Asus Sabertooth 990FX (uses PCIe 2.0 16x slots) CPU: AMD FX-8150 8 core CPU Ram: Kingston HyperX BLU 2*8 GB Video Cards: two AMD Radeon 7970 in crossfire running latest drivers after clean install PSU: 1000W (can't remember name but it was the top notch at the store) HDD: Samsung 256 GB SSD Distilled water coolant So this issue started happening about a month ago, with its severity increasing. When it first started, it would start getting black screens periodically. However, now, it shuts down whenever I apply a video load, such as CINEBENCH or Furmark or any AAA video game. The temperature that it shuts down at is always between 60-70 C (I can actually predict with great accuracy every time when it will black screen during a Furmark test). I have spent nights trying to diagnose this problem, and I have narrowed it down to strictly graphics. I ran Prime95, and set it to test only CPU/RAM, and my system never freezes. Things I have tried: - reinstalling graphic drivers (trying every revision since 2012, made sure to properly uninstall drivers each iteration) - reinstalling Windows OS - using one 1 RAM stick and changing the slots - performing a VRAM test, only the graphic cards pass with perfect results - turning one card off by cutting power, and vice versa, and disabling crossfire and enabling it - changing my primary video cards - down clocking/over clocking the GPU speed and VRAM speed - monitoring GPU, VRAM and voltage regulator temperatures - using another monitor Guys, I am literally stuck on this problem. I have tried everything that does not involve buying new parts and replacing them from my system. I really hope someone could help me out. One more thing guys, are there any custom water-cooling computer repair services? At this point I am really desperate to revive my system. I would gladly pay to have this issue fixed without buying new components.
  8. So im planning a build and I was wondering Is it possible to upgrade the EK A240G water cooling kit to hardline? because Id prefer to have hardline tubing and I'm not too experienced with Custom Watercooling so Just wondering if anyone has tried or knows if its possible!! cause my one worry is that most compression fittings I've found are copper and the A240G is all aluminum and Galvanic Corrosion is terrible.
  9. I'm curious what people's favorite large cases are for custom liquid Cooling. I have a define S right now, so I could just water cool my current system, but I'd like to have a really large, simple looking case, for custom water cooling. Any suggestions?
  10. Hi, I'm building my first PC in a few days and wanted to cool my CPU with an AIO... Then I saw the EK A240G and thought about getting it, since it doesn't make a difference price-wise. My only questions are: Would you recommend to do a custom loop with such little experience in PC-Building? And would you recommend this kit to a Beginner?
  11. Most recent post - Hey Guys n' Gals. I'm in the midst of acquiring parts for a rig update, and seeing as I love watching these builds (and the ones on the YouTubes) take shape I figured it was time to throw my hat in the ring. This is only my third go at this whole PC Master Race thing, so please be gentle. My original build specs can be found here - https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/banana_havoc/saved/X6HXsY Originally this computer found a home in an NZXT Phantom 240 Case, which I had to modify because my beast of an air cooler scratched the acrylic panel going on and off. Swapping to 1/8 Plexi and installing it via allen screws to the exterior of the case classed it up a bit IMO and added a bit of room. But I still wasn't happy with the aesthetic, so it was soon binned for an equally expensive InWin 303 I picked up this Black Friday. The interior of which immediately got a nice coat of gloss white paint to give a little more pop. So eventually here we stand now, a decently quick (for me) AMD FX 8370 based system in a nice case on a nice desk in the space that is soon destined to be an office (aka we had kids and I lost my den...) And well. I had some cash kicking around and I'm already tired of a system I built a year ago. Needless to say, I went Boxing Day shopping. And some new toys entered the stable. For some reason though the 3000 mHz Team Dark ram was cheaper than the 2400 speeds and the Red varient was also cheaper than the grey, seeing as its going to find itself under a spray can, I wasn't overly concerned with the initial colour. There is also an NZXT Hue + and another Enermax TB Vegas fan (for the bottom slot under the fan controller)on the way as well. I held off on the CPU until we hear more on Kaby Lake. Seeing as the motherboard will support it with a BIOS update. if not I'll likely snag a 6700K if its still on sale. A good friend of mine is going to be the proud new owner of my previously mentioned FX-8370, 8 gb of HyperX Fury and MSI 970 Gaming AM3+ mb, and I need that cash to throw at the CPU. And the final build is going to stick to a Silver, White and Black colour scheme. Any suggestions are welcome, though I've been planning much of this pretty much since I finished my first foray into computer building. So far, here is the list as it stands - https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/banana_havoc/saved/JVGJxr Thanks for the interest and I'll toss more up as I get it! -bH
  12. So one day I'm super bored and I start to wonder if any manufacturers actually produce any water blocks for any low profile 1050 Ti cards. I can find blocks for full size cards, but no LowPro card blocks. Do manufacturers just not make them or do I just have a white belt in Googling and some Google master can find one with no problem? Specifically the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
  13. Greetings from Greece. After a long break of about 3 years I return to modding and I am starting with project "Necromancer". It is a system with a theme inspired by the necromancer class from diablo 3 with custom watercooling and 3d printed accesories. I would like to thank Cooler Master that has agreed to support the project from the very start with a partial sponsorship! Parts list: Case: Cooler Master MC500M Motherboard: Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Ultra Gaming WiFi CPU: Intel i7 8700k RAM: G.Skill Trident Z 32GB DDR4-3200MHz GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Aero 8G OC Storage: Samsung 970 EVO NVMe 500GB + Sandisk Ultra II 240 Sata 3 SSD + 2TB WD Black PSU: Corsair RM 750i Water cooling: EK Fluid Gaming A240G + EK-FG 240 expansion pack Optical drive: Pioneer Blu-Ray 3D Recorder Dual Layer Accessories: Cooler Master vertical GPU holder with riser cable, 3x CoolerMaster MasterFan MF120R RGB 120mm Some parts were delivered at the workshop, so let's start assembly and testing. First test mount of the motherboard in the case First small mod was to remove the orange colored stripe at the back io cover. I think I will give it a second try to remove the color completely. Black motherboard, RGB lights and an orange stripe on a cover? Dear Gigabyte, why? You are forgiven though, because it is a great motherboard in general. Ready to start sleeving the cables and I am greeted with the following "delightful" sight. It is a known issue "caps on cables are ugly no matter what you do" and of course the capacitors are there for the voltage ripple. It is not a major issue if you remove the caps, but the less fiddling I do with the cables, the better for everyone. There is a workaround I decided to do. (more info later on) I started with the 8-pin for the motherboard, with the classic trick of using tape on fingers to be able to pinch-press hot-molten paracord without getting burned. I left the cap visible, because I will 3d print a cable cover that will mount with screws on the top radiator fans and also act as a cable and water cooling tubing guide. Although as long as I don't have the water cooling parts, I can't get measurements and dimensions to start designing the cover. So I started designing a cover for the front USB cables and 24-pin making a few test prints to test the fit on each design step. RAM sticks arrived and I got a mat black vinyl sticker. I cut some white acrylic-plexiglass, that I sanded with 800 grit sandpaper to make it have a mat finish. Also I 3d printed a fan grill I designed for the fan at the back. Right now the build is at the following state. Next small steps while I wait for the rest of the hardware to be delivered: -Short video timelapse of the build log so far. (recording is done, I just need to edit the footage) -Continue the design of the front cable cover to also hide the blu-ray drive sata cables. -Make the GPU cable have a single 6+2pin connector at the end and not dual daisy chained connectors like the stock configuration is. I expect to get the GPU in about 3 days, the NVMe SSD in 2 and the water cooling parts next week. That is all for now. Valar makeris!
  14. My system suddenly rebooted and when it came back, I noticed on my desktop widget that it was only reading one GPU. Looking inside, I instantly noticed a small puddle sitting on the backplate of my SLI config, the fluid seemingly originating from the EK FCTerminal connecting the cards. Quickly shut down my system (it was still running), and drained and pulled apart the loop to get the cards out (GTX 980s). Took the block off and sprayed both sides of the PCB of the damaged card with isopropyl alcohol just to try give it a clean of some sorts. Is there anything I could possibly do to try get the card working? Please note my expectations are extremely low in regards to reviving the card, but any recommendations would be great!
  15. Hello people, at this moment i’m busy with a build in a Phanteks enthoo elite and a dual system set-up. I plan to build a hard line loop to cool the 2 systems. Has someone done this before? How to connect the fans to 2 different motherboards? Or is this even not possible? Thanks in advance!
  16. I am planning on making my first custom water cooling loop. It comes as no surprise to me that this will be expensive. However, in Sweden (where I currently live) there is basically only one proper seller of custom water cooling parts, and safe to say, the prices shows that they pretty much have a monopoly here in Sweden. Plus EVERYTHING is more expensive here in the Nordic countries! So I want to know if anyone knows a reliable and cheap(er) store for water cooling parts in EU that also offers EU-shipping? I found a really well-priced store in the Netherlands, but they of course only shipped to Netherlands and Belgum.
  17. Hello, first a little bit of background. This is a school project where I deiced to explore custom water cooling and based my project off of this, hence the video guide I have made. This video contains information on all the individual parts and what they do, how to buy the parts, how to install the parts, the basic thermodynamics of the parts, a limited comparative testing and a conclusion. Video If you have time I would appreciate it if you gave me feedback as it will help on my reflection. PS: Sorry if the video feels a bit rushed I underestimated the time I needed and set my goal at 10 minutes Full Source List https://docs.google.com/document/d/1h9NCssS41z6cW7Ds2t9re7E953DW7BuyVLH_0cQBokI/edit?usp=sharing
  18. Hey guys, I'm planing on custom watercooling my 2nd baby; Toothless (Radeon R9 Nano, i5 4790k, Silverstone SG-13) My quandry is simple, is a single 120mm rad is enough to cool the both of them? Of course I already have an NF-F12 already in there, and airflow will be negative pressure and the psu will be pulling from inside the case and is semi-modular. I have no experience and little knowledge in custom water cooling loops and thought I would ask you guys for the first time, so, whats your opinion? (Apart from the fact that I'm crazy to watercool in an sg13) Photos attached
  19. Hi guys, i will build a water cooling system for my PC. But i be undecided about GPU are tubing. on your opinion which one is better? (for only GPU area tubing ) Note: I'm not use horizontal my case and my PC's theme will be Red and Black Sorry for my english A) B )
  20. Hi guys, i have a 2 questions. 1- Where can I find the custom VBIOS for the GTX 980 Poseidon? 2- Is there a difference between GTX 980 Poseidon and GTX 980 Matrix Platinum for OC potential? Which is better for OC? (I have a custom water cooling system)
  21. Hi, I recently got an Intel G3258 and the z97 Pc Mate from MSI and I want to overclock it. I made a custom water cooling loop and the temps are great, BUT I can't set the voltage to more than 1.299v, I can't find anywhere to enable voltages higher than the "safe zone" Right now I can only hit 4.2 GHz with the voltage set at 1.290... I was unlucky with the CPU I guess. I have the MSI bios version E7850IMS V4.9 Anyone got any ideas how to go past 1.3v? or something that might make the overclock better with lower voltages? BTW, What is ring ratio?
  22. I'm looking to put together a build in the next few moths and I just want to make sure I am not trying to connect a tube to a fitting that does not fit and to make sure that I am getting what is most recommended/wallet friendly parts. I will be cooling a GTX 970 WF3 and a FX-8370e (with plans to upgrade to an 4790k) in a Define S with all Venturi fans from Fractal. Parts list: EK DDC X-RES Top 100 w/ 3.2 PWM Pump EK X3 Reservoir Replacement Tube - 250 Alphacool NexXxoS UT60 Full Copper Triple 120mm Radiator Mayhems Pastel Coolant Concentrate - 250mL - Orange XSPC FLX Premium Grade PVC Tubing - 3/8" ID (5/8"OD) - 2 Meter (6.5 Feet) EK Gigabyte GeForce 970 GTX WF3 VGA Swiftech 8-Way PWM Cable Splitter EK Supremacy EVO Universal CPU Liquid Cooling Block Swiftech Lok-Seal™ Compression Fitting G1/4 Thread - 3/8" ID x 5/8" OD - Black EK Gigabyte GTX 970 WF3 Backplate I was also wondering how I would be able to drain the loop when it's time for maintenance Thanks to all who help!
  23. Hi im new to LINUSTECHTIPS. but I've been watching his YouTube channel for some time i would like to upgrade up recent build and do a custom water cooling loop microATX CPU and GPU. but im having trouble with compatibility and clearances Current build Case: Corsair air 240 Motherboard: Asus ROG Maximus Gene VII CPU: Intel I7 4790k @4.7Ghz Ram: patriot Viper 8gb 1866Mhz Storage: samsung 840 SSD 240gb Hard drive: black 1TB GPU: Dual EVGA GTX 970 sc SLI Cpu Cooler : corsair H105I Fans : Corsair led high-static pressure fans because of space restricions i was looking into all in one coolings such as the H2O-X20 Edge HD Series or somthing similar but still have concerns if it will all fit and how to do the loop. my main reason for doing this build is to lower the overall temp of my GPU. They are placed fairly close to each other and the top GPU is having trouble getting airflow
  24. What I have: An old(er) pc, (green/cooper-ish mainboard), ~100W TDP the desire to put some custom hard-tube water cooling on it a friend with an cnc machine some money & time What I want to do: build a custom, mostly open case for it (just for information) make this thing my first custom loop rigid tubing a custom cpu block What I want to have afterwards: a good looking pc So, I know that it is completely unnecessary to put water cooling on this thing. The main focus on doing this is to have some fun, learn/gain some experience and maybe have some nice looking build afterwards. The hardware I use is dispensable. Event though I want to make this happen for a long time now: The project is in a really early stage at this moment. I have some pictures in my head on how I want this thing to look like, but I haven't brought them to paper jet. What I want from you guys: I will put a list of the parts I picked below, please tell me if they fit together or what I should change. I want to make the cpu block out of cooper with a plastic top (like some of these EK blocks) -> how do I seal this thing up? Alternatively to the copper/plastic block I had the idea to do both parts out of cooper and then solder them together -> would this work? Where can I get more information on how to make custom cooling blocks? some feedback, ideas, ... Parts: AlphaCool DC-LT 3600 Ceramic (12V) AlphaCool DC-LT Plexi top AlphaCool revervoir for DC-LT pumps Magicool dual 80mm Rad Mayhems pastel "Ice White" (250ml) Monsoon free center hardline fittings 13/10 black chrome (pack of 6) Monsoon hardline glue for acrylic tubes (8ml) Primochill acrylic tube 13/10 (4x60cm / 4x ~23,62 inch) Some 1cm/.4 inch thick copper + plastic for the cpu block Thanks in advance
  25. So I really need Any help picking a CPU, GPU blocks, Radiator and the pump. That would fit in a Define R4 CPU: AMD FX8350 GPU: Asus 780 Case: Define R4 Tanks for the help. :3
