I'm not sure where to post this so I'll just leave it here. I think a really cool video idea would be to get a bunch of curved monitors, ultrawides would look cooler, and set them all up in a circle to basically be able to view 360* videos more easily. Idk if it could be done, I don't know that much about computers, but i still think it would look awesome. To up it a notch, they could try to build a hemisphere with curved displays to be able to have a really cool video watching experience.

Hello guys, I want to upgrade my current FHD 27" Asus monitor towards something....better. The question is, which resolution should I look for? I have PS4 Pro and recently I am gaming mainly at the PS4 Pro and occasionaly at the PC. As I have understood, PS4 Pro supports 4K resolution, but no curved monitor at the market supports 4K, because it is usually ultra wide monitor right? For example I would want something like this, but the resolution is 3840 X 1080. Would PS4 support such a resolution? Thank you for answers dear community

So, I'm slowly putting together a new computer based around Ryzen 7 and probably a Vega GPU. I'm also very picky with what I want from my parts and it usually takes me a while to track down exactly what I want, which is a real annoyance because I'm not happy just settling for "close enough", but I guess the positive side of it is at least I know exactly what I want? I've been quite happy for the last few years with my 1080P 60Hz Samsung display, but with the upcoming upgrade to a Vega GPU I figured it would be a good time to start thinking about a new monitor to go with it. Of course, there's thousands of monitors out there and while a lot of them do most of what I want, none of them do everything I want. With that in mind, I'm not even sure what I'm looking for even exists yet, but here's what I want: "Borderless"; preferrably on all 4 frames, not just the top and sides, like this LG: https://www.pccasegear.com/products/39134/lg-27mp89hm-s-27in-ips-led-monitor Curved Above 60hz refresh rate (gaming) 1080P or higher Freesync Ultrawide Great colour reproduction (photo editing) Metal / silver colour. Not black, not grey, not a variant of black or grey, and no "gaming" reds. Anyone aware of any monitor by anyone that ticks these boxes?

My laptop is aorus x7 V2 i7-4860HQ 2x nVidia GTX 860M SLI (8GB) 16GB DDR3 2x HDMI, Mini DisplayPort, VGA As it is a 17 inch display already i want to upgrade it to a 29 or 32 inch ultrawide or curved monitor. Im worried if the laptop will be able to handle the increase in pixels. All I do is a little bit of gaming movies and all. Has anyone tried a bigger display with the Aorus x7 v2??

Hi, i initially started a post in the display section, trying to decide the best monitor for a gtx 1080ti between 1440p 144hz and 4K, both gsync. to sum things up: given my strong GPU (1080ti) but non OC core i5, and the fact that I never play competitive and rarely FPS games, I became convinced that the 4K gsync would be best for me. Also, I am a sucker for details in games, and sometimes just admire the surroundings rather than speed through a game. Gsync looks like a must since I want something I can use with medium to high settings for quite a few years, keeping a reasonable, playable frame rate. Now, a poster on that forum mentioned WQHD and after looking at it, it does seem to offer both eye candy, great format, and good durability with my GPU given the lesser required power to run it. The problem, as always I guess, is my budget: I can either get gsync on the 4K or a non gsync WQHD. the screens I am looking at are both in the 600$ range in Japan, where I live. acer XB281HK 28' gsync 4k LG 34UC97C 34' non gsync. Could i get opinions from both types of screens, with pros and cons? Thanks!

Hey guys, I am going to be helping my friend build a PC (his first, longtime MacBook user). No gaming, just some coding (Java) and website use. I want it to last as long as possible so no G4560 please. He wants a 4K monitor, 27-28", black frame ONLY and would greatly prefer a curved one. Also would like to keep the price as low as possible, preferably under 900-1000 without peripherals but including monitor. He doesn't care how the rig looks, only the monitor, but I still put in a relatively clean case. So I've been looking at some monitors and I was wondering if a curved monitor is any good at gaming, The one I've been looking at is this, I Don't really play comp games all that much. the most comp game I play is Overwatch. Or should I go for a monitor with 144hz since I have 1070 it can get those high of frame rates, or go for like a 29 inch ultra wide like this This

This popped up on Scan not too long ago, not seen too much info on it, anyone know more? Cheapest Quantum dot display I've seen so far (though tbh I've not been looking much). I'm planning for a possible HTPC rx 480 build and was looking for a decent 24 inch monitor. Not sure what the point of having a curve on a monitor of that size is but it looks cool!

Hi all Anyone of you guys know if a monitor with these specs is on its way. I know it's possible with dp 1.3 but i can't find any news on this or upcoming releases. I know is almost CES so i really have my hopes high they will be announced at this show. There is a updated version next year of the acer x34p but it will "only" be able to do 100hz. Maybe an updated version of the asus rog swift pg348q would be nice aswell. Any news on this is much appreciated. Thx

So my girlfriend saw a 27" 1080p curved monitor at a local store from samsung and she really liked it. I can't quite remember whitch one but the specs were pretty mediocre: 1080p @60hz (at least w/ freesync) So i was wondering if there is a better alternative out there because i couldn't find one. . I am aware that curved screens are primarily used for ultrawides and benefits them most but she likes the form factor. I would appreciate it if anyone could name some monitors with a higher resolution or refresh rate. Manny Thanks Buttat

Hello every one, I got a question on what monitor(s) to buy. The reason why i cant choose is that there are advantages and disadvantages on all the options (while not going over budget). What is going to be on the monitors is: i game alot, watch movies, watch youtube, program a lot and am using some servers that monitor allot. I came up myself with some options. but feel free to leave your own thoughts on monitors, or what one you prefer of my choices. Keep in mind, im not thinking to spend more then around 700 euro. the options: 2 144hz with 1 response time monitors. On a dual monitor arm to keep them close and look nicer. 1 ultra wide curved 1080p with 144hz and 4 ms response time. 1 ultra wide curved 1440p with 60hz and 4/5ms response time. what would be your choice, and why? Or do you have some other recommendations? edit: I currently have a: i5 4690k asrock z97 killer 8 gb of ddr ram (1800mhz) msi R9 390 (thinking on upgrading to 1070) not that storage matters but: a 256 ssd and a 2tb hdd

144hz High-End WQHD 144hz 32" Curved Display for about $650
Allptraum1989 posted a topic in Displays
Hi, i am abound to finish my summer job i did for a new screen (i am currently stuck at 4k 60hz) and i want to get a nice big wqhd 144hz. Unfortunately, finding a good one has proven quite difficult. Things i absolutely want: -Curved, -VESA option, -2560x1440 -144hz, -some sort of sync controller (either gsync or freesync. as long as it works with my NVidia gpu) -31.5 - 32" -and as little motion blur as possible -Adjustable stand (pitch and height) Things i don't care about: -Great IO. I just want a sufficient DisplayPort or HDMI -Great viewing angles (As long as it looks fine from my position thats right infront) Things i don't want: -400nit HDR (hdaren't) My friend has just got himself an AOC Gaming CQ32G1 (https://amzn.to/32Nu4DL) for $380. It is 31.5", WQHD, 144hz curved and claims to be 1ms. When i looked at it in real life, it appeared to be a very nice, smooth display. But it had a LOT of motion blur. Even at 1ms. I would get the same one, had it not this much motion blur. Originally i wanted to get an Asus ROG Strix XG32VQ (https://amzn.to/32YoEGn) for $640, but it has 4ms wtf... Most reviews state that these 4ms bottleneck it down to about 120hz. They also point out that it has vertical lines on solid colors. Doesn't seem to quite match the premium price tag... Sadly i wasn't able to find any other screen that matches my needs. I think it should be very possible to get a nice WQHD 144hz 32" 1ms curved display for $650. Do you have any suggestions? Best regards, allpi -
INTRODUCTION / BACKSTORY For the longest time I was trying to get my dad to use a higher than 1080p resolution display to ease his eye-impairment, until one day I set him up with my trusted LG 34UC88 and left for an exchange semester in Denmark. The deal was: "If you like it and want to keep it, I get a new one, if not, you get something else". I am proud to report that my dad has joined the Ultrawide Master Race... leaving me without a display. So I'm looking for a replacement, turning to you for advice. CRITERIA From most to least important Must have 1. 21:9 1440p curved Ultrawide 2. 100+ Hz refresh rate Nice to have some of: 3. G-sync 4. Height-adjustable 5. IPS 6. USB-C input 7. Thunderbolt 3 8. understated looks (not screaming "FOR GAMING") BUDGET ~ USD 900 - USD 1100 (~ € 800 - € 1000) - note this is a rough estimate due to currency conversion (I am in the EU) I was looking at these: LG 34UC99 Predator Z35P Predator X34P Samsung C34J791 LG 34UC88 (the one I had before, only 60 Hz) LG 34GK950G - A bit of a budget stretch Appreciate any suggestions

Hello, I've spent the last few days searching for a monitor to use at home with my Macbook, but couldn't come to a conclusion. I am going to mainly use it for programming. Would appreciate if you guys could help me with some suggestions. The specs that I'm looking for, are: curved display, usb-c port, 27" , and not more than 350$. I did find a product, but I wasn't able to find that many reviews for it. Also, what do you think about it? This is it: Samsung lc27h800. Thank you, Eric

Hello I'm building a new system with rtx 2080 for gpu and I have no idea what to do for monitors. Should I pick up a MSI Optix MAG27CQ 1440p 144hz monitor and tries to pick up a 4k 60hz IPS monitor as well or I should get an ultra wide monitor like LG 34UC79G-B 34inch monitor with 2560x 1080 resolution. By the way my options are very limited in here so if I want a 1440p ultra wide monitor with good refresh rate there is only Samsung C49HG90 49 inch monitor available for 1700 USD.

I need to replace my monitor, its just time, both from it dying and it not being capable of matching my upgraded PC. But due to upgraded PC I don't have a lot of money to spend on it. I've been checking on sales and have seen this 24" curved Acer on Newegg, there's a promo code bringing it down to $150. That price sounds good, but I've never used a curved monitor, would it even be worth it on a 24" screen?
