Hi, my MOBO-Gigabyte B650M DS3H, Ram - Acer Predator Vesta II 30-38-38-76 6000MHz 16gbX2 How do u guys mount a dual tower cpu cooler and still use 2x rams in dual channel mode? My rams are 49mm high from board, so i cant have cpu cooler spread over those ram. And dual tower cpu cooler will take atleast 2 ram slots(or more) from cpu side. now for dual channel to work we at least need 2nd slot from cpu side, but dual tower cpu cooler wont allow that. Do u guys remove the fan from front of heatsink and install it at the back of heatsink? will that work and will that decrease the cooling capability of the cpu cooler and roughly by how many degrees C? and finally are duall tower cpu coolers more effective than single tower cpu coolers in cooling at same price tag? i'm talking about this cooler- https://mdcomputers.in/cooler-master-hyper-620s-rr-d6na-17pa-r1.html?sort=p.price&order=ASC

Hi, my os- win11, MOBO-Gigabyte B650M DS3H, bios version FA4,cpu ryzen5 7600,cpu cooler-Hyper 212X ,Ram - Acer Predator Vesta II 30-38-38-76 6000MHz 16gbX2, gpu - Asrock AMD rx 7800xt challenger oc, PSU- MSI MAG A750GL, os-windows10, OS drive -WD BLUE SN580 500GB PCIE GEN4 ssd. Between cooler master Hyper 212 Spectrum V3 and hyper 212x cpu air cooler which has better cooling capacity? i will use 2 fans on both side of heatsink for push pull configuration. I allready own hyper212x and its giving following temp result on cinebench 2024 multicore cpu test for 10 minutes with 35c room temperature- please tell me the rough estimate of how many degree Celsius in cpu temp will be decrease for using Hyper 212 Spectrum V3 or any other 20-25$ cpu cooler which u can suggest. please suggest if there's any better cpu cooler around ₹3000 range. I'm from India, i'm using these 2 sites to buy pc parts- CPU Fans & Heatsinks | Air Coolers, RGB Fans, Led Fans (mdcomputers.in) and CPU Cooler (vedantcomputers.com). I'm trying to decide if it's worth to getting a new cpu cooler. Also i see various type of heatsink material out there like nickel plated , copper etc, can u guys plz sort few popular heatsink material from best to worse? is COOLER MASTER HYPER 620S good quality cpu cooler, is it better than ANT ESPORTS ICE-C621 Buy Ant Esports ICE-C621 | CPU Air Cooler | Vedant Computers . COOLER MASTER HYPER 620S costs 8 us $ more than that ANT ESPORTS ICE , is it worth the extra money?

Hi, my MOBO-Gigabyte B650M DS3H, bios version FA4,cpu ryzen5 7600,cpu cooler-Hyper 212X , gpu - Asrock AMD rx 7800xt challenger oc, everything is on default in bios. i just enabled expo. so hyper 212x cooler not officially supported with AM5 but i made following adjustments manually to make it fit to my AM5 socket- this is the X holder of the cooler which holds the heatsink on the socket - it should hold the cooler like this- But the issue was with AM5 that we cant install the coolers seperate backplate behind the mobo cause we cant remove the socket's default backplate. now my am5 socket already had 4 screw holes on 4 corners of the socket but the issue is 4 spring screws( 1,3,4 on above image) of that X holder too high from those socket's default screw holes and cant reach to the holes to be screwed into the holes. so i decreased the gaps by attaching my cabinet's mobo mounting screw stands into those holes like this- now the gap between spring screws of cooler's X holder and socket's screw hole decreased significantly that they touches each other , but it was not enough and still i could not screwed those spring screws of X holder into those modified screw holes properly as either the spring screws needed to be little lower or screw holes needed to be little higher. so i manually bend all the hands of that X holder little bit( i took the X holder far way from cpu socket and full system during bending, so no other pc component got effected during the bending process). So now i could easily screwed down those X holder's spring screws into the socket's modified screw holes and after completely tightening those all 4 spring screws my heatsink was totally strongly fit on the CPU and was not even moving a bit even i applied moderate force on the heatsink(i aplied Arctic MX-4 thermal paste properly) . (in the above pic bracket arms seems at 2 very different heights, but that pic i took when i was middle of the screwing process , after finishing my screws everything was of same height, but i cant take the pic of current situation right now cause of my GPU blocking the site.) then i installed 2 fans , one on each side of the heat sink in push pull configuration. after that i ran cinebench 2024 for 10 minutes (35c room temp) and got these temps on hwinfo- My questions are- 1.. can my cpu or socket pins or any pc component be physically damaged any way right now or over time cause i installed the cooler like that unofficial way? 2.. are those temps of cpu and cores too bad? there's like 10c different in average temps between various cores and also atleast 16c different between coolest core temp and cpu temp. Is all of this happening cause i installed the cooler such way? if i buy a new am5 supported cooler which has same cooling power as my hyper 212x will i get way better temp results? is this better temp result than stock r5 7600 cpu cooler considering room temp is at 35c? can you plz guess roughly how much more temps would be if it was stock cooler? 3.. do i have to buy new am5 supported cooler right now and ditch this hyper 212x immediately?

Hi, i allready own Hyper 212x cpu cooler, but i'm getting new cpu (r5 7600) and mobo on AMD AM5 platform. will Hyper 212x Cpu cooler support AMD AM5 socket? if not then is there any way to make the hyper 212x support am5 socket?

The 7700x's specs say that it produces 105w of heat, but does that mean that i wont be bottlenecked using a 105w cooler? I've heard that modern cpus will turbo their clock speeds right before they start overheating, so would i be missing out on performance by getting a cooler that cookie cutter fits the wattage heat output? I am going to be playing a reallly cpu intensive game called beamng drive which has soft-body physics simulation. The current cpu cooler im gonna get has 265W heat dissipation power according to its specs. Hey guys, I am building a cheap old server for a project, and I can't seem to get the right CPU coolers. The motherboard is a Dual Xeon e5-26xxx compatible Asus Z9PA-D8: https://www.nix.ru/autocatalog/motherboards_asustek/161373_2245_draft.jpg. This board has standard LGA-2011 sockets. I've tried several LGA-2011 coolers, for example: https://gelidsolutions.com/product/rev-5-tranq, but it seems that all of them require you to install their own backplate. The CPU backplates on this motherboard are not removable. I feel retarded. The main issue is that the screws that come with the coolers are too thin and/or too long, even though the retention mechanism does line up with the holes correctly. My memory is playing tricks on me. Is this because it's a server board? For example, the screws on this cooler look correct by the shape and relative size: https://www.ebay.com/itm/284658618446, and it specifically says it doesn't come with a backplate because your motherboard should already come with one. Other server coolers look correct too: https://www.ebay.com/itm/314677372718. So what's the deal here? Are there two variants of coolers and motherboards for the LGA-2011 socket? Ones that require their own backplate, and ones that don't? I mean if that's the case, that just seems ridiculous. I don't feel like paying $80 bucks for a Nactua, but regardless, how would I know if an LGA-2011 cooler is actually compatible? Is there a specific cooler I need to look for? I don't mean a brand, I mean like a standard which is more than LGA-2011?

Hi there! I'm building my first pc and i've run into an issue while installing my cpu cooler. I'm working with a B550 Tomahawk Max motherboard and I'm trying to install a Peerless Assassin 120 SE cpu cooler for my AMD cpu. However, the standoffs that came with the Assassin 120 are not fitting onto the motherboard at all. One of the standoffs slipped on no problem, but the other three won't fit on the motherboard at all. What should I do in this situation? Any recommendations? Thank you.

Is the Phantom Spirit 120 SE capable of cooling the 7900X under multi core workload? Some tests conclude that most air coolers can't keep the 7900X under 95C while others recommend coolers like the Dark Rock 4 Pro and AK620 and the PS120SE seems to be close to them in cooling performance overall.

To start, I am typing this on my phone because I no longer am able to turn on the computer for more than a few minutes without it overheating. Things I have tried already: Check AIO for flow, check cpu-to-cooler connection, apply new thermal paste, check task manager for high processes, and clean the PC I have had this NZXT pre-built pc for years now, but only about a month or two ago did I start experiencing issues with overheating. What normally would happen is that each time I would try and fix the problem, (with what I tried being above) the PC would work great for a couple days, then go back to overheating. I have continued to try and solve the problem myself, but I have no idea what else to do since I genuinely cannot startup the PC for more that a few minutes before it turns off on the home screen with only minor background processes (about 4% cpu load according to NZXT cam and my task manager). With that yap session aside, how could I go about troubleshooting from here, I am desperate to try and fix it without buying new components if possible, as well as reinstalling windows, as I don't have an external drive to save my data on. And just to make sure I wasn't stupid, I set up my PC in the middle of the room on the table with the air set to 68° inside and a fan on to see if airflow was the issue. Please Help! Upgrading GPU and CPU: Strix RX480 8GB OC > > > TUF RX7800XT Ryzen 7 2700X > > > Ryzen 9 5900X 16GB DDR4 > > > 32GB DDR4 (Kingston Fury) (x2 sticks) Looking for a good cooler (without breaking the budget) for the Ryzen 9 5900X, currently using an LC Power LC-CC-95 for the Ryzen 7 2700X and it's been doing a good job for it's price (35-41C idle > 50-55C gaming > 75-86C 3D rendering, 3D modelling, 2D graphics...), but it's probably not a good choice for a 5900X under heavy workload. I'm interested in opinions and/or suggestions/recommendations, I've picked out a few coolers that fit my budget. Looking at tests even on Ryzen 7000 series the temps seem ok , but I'm also interested in the quality and reliability of these coolers (a broken cooler won't cool ). Current case is a Fractal Design Define R4 (2x 140mm front intake, 1x 120mm rear exhaust, 1x 120mm floor intake). (with current lowest prices) - THERMALRIGHT Peerless Assassin 120 SE - 43 euros - CoolerMaster Masterair Ma612 Stealth - 54 euros - Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 Se Argb - 56 euros - DEEPCOOL AK620 black - 72 euros - BE QUIET! Dark Rock Pro 4 - 74 euros Peerless Assassin 120 SE keeps good temps in some tests and it's the most budget friendly in the list, but if I can't rely on it's quality to survive the 5900X during heavy work it's probably worth paying more for one that can handle it. I'm also not a fan of cheap AIO's so it's why I'm mostly looking into air coolers, unless there's a reliable and overall good AIO in this price range. Thank you in advance

Hello guys, I'm currently getting a new CPU cooler for my Ryzen 5 5600X as the AMD stock cooler does its job very badly. Thus I've decided to get the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE as I've seen very good reviews about it online. I've also ordered a new Arctic MX-6 thermal paste to use although the CPU cooler comes with one included. Now I need to know if the MX-6 can be used for the cooler as I've got some concerns that it might not work. Thanks for every little and big help!

sz_zach posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Hi, I am asking a question for a friend and right now they have an Intel R Core TM i7-9700KF CPU @ 3.60GHz and a Motherboard z390 a pro. Their CPU cooler right now is broken and doesn't work properly so they need a new one. A white one is a must and if somehow possible with RGB. Also they have another question and that's that they have 3 Fans in the front and one in the back and they want to know if they can put 3 at the top and 3 at the bottom or if it won't work or push hot air around. So is it only needed at the top or both- 3 replies

Hi all- I was looking to upgrade the memory in my computer to a new set, and I totally forgot how close this CPU cooler is to the ram. This is the be quiet! Dark Rock 4 CPU Cooler and it sits right on top of the memory. What I was wondering was is it possible to switch the CPU cooling fan to the other side of the cooling fin tower? Will this greatly affect thermals?

Hello, I recently replaced my AIO cooler with the MSI MAG series CORELIQUID 280R Liquid Cooler, and Im not too sure what temps I had before the switch but now im running at 70*C on Idle and 88-91*C Under load, my CPU is the Ryzen 7 5800X with an Asus TUF Gaming Motherboard with an X570 chipset, Im using Core Temp and Open Hardware Monitor to look at the temps, and as im typing this my cpu is at 75*C. Im continuing to monitor my temps when doing things, Ive reapplied the thermal paste, reseated the cooler block and CPU, This cooler is one that I swapped out from my Girlfriends PC into mine and gave my old one to her because it was too big for her case so I cant swap them back to see, im wondering if these temps are normal for this cooler or if my pump is failing, thank you

During Amazon prime day, I grabbed a peerless assassin 120se. I'm slowing buying parts to build new (most likely AM5). However, I was going to throw it in my current PC for now. Tried installing yesterday and I noticed there were no screw length that worked with my motherboard (Asus z370 prime-pII). The box claimed it works on LGA 1151 socket, but doesn't appear to include correct screws. I'm wondering if anyone has used this CPU cooler on older Intel sockets. I'm also curious if I needed to remove the backplate that is currently on my mobo? It's bolted down, so I didn't feel comfortable taking it off in the moment so I put my old cooler back on.
