Hello. Im back with another beginner question. I’m setting up a test bench to see if everything boots. I’m wondering how to power the cpu cooler, does it draw power from the 24 pin or what do I need to plug in to get the fans power? My cpu cooler is a Corsair h60, so I need two 4 pins connections, one for radiator and one for fan. I’m using an evga z370 ftw motherboard and evga 850 g3 gold psu.

Updated bios and i can no longer achieve 4.5 at a reasonable voltage, and my H60 just doesnt cut it. Liquid coolers above the H60 tier are to expensive, im looking at the Dark Rock Pro 4, or Noctua NH-D15 Its going to need to cool my 6700k @4.5 or better at about 1.3v (used to be 1.250v for stable 4.5) Which one of these is best? Is there something better for the same price? Also whatever happened to the blackout Noctuas? Brown really wont fit in my all red build to well.

So this is my frist love first pc I bought and bluid with my own pay check in 2011/2012. Now after years of having great time on this pc and going from 4GB 1200 ram too brand new 16gb kit also new gpu 1060gtx and highly recommend corsair h60 as a cool since I live in africa and it gets hot here. After all the installation of cpu cool all was well for 2019 but at end of feburary after I giving my younger brother time to play his games and I want to play I see pc just off. Turns on there a leak in my cooler dripped onto the gpu( pic incluced ) I panic it not turning on I clean the pc and pull psu hoping that it the only thing that got hurt. After that I released now one in town have a gpu I can use and test my beloved rig. So I had to ship the pc about 600miles to the company who sold me the cooler and gpu so the can see what they can do and this the email I get. Pic1 So after this am kinda happy and sad gpu works whooo motherboard dead they see no water damage on pc pic 2 3 4 well I can see a clear crack in the cooler and am like you telling me it fine?? Out whatever. So now what I want to try and do is fix this pc by myself and give to to my little brother so he can use it and play his game on it. Only problem I have is finding a 1155 socket motherboard and only places I see you can get 2nd hand ones are china or usa so I beg for help for linus and he team somewhere I a dark room at the back or in someone basement for this motherboard. Also they refused to refund the ram I bought a month ago also in the pics. Now I know what you going to say it be much easier to buy him a ryzen 5 or something along the lines of that I work and live I africa for me to buy a pc just from myself I have to not spent any money for 10 months so I have no choice but forget about getting a new pc. But just wana try put on my linus welding helmet and see if I can fix it so my brother can have as much fun on it as I have . Love you all community and team working for linus.

As title suggests, I am having trouble slotting the Corsair H60 radiator into the rear fan slot of my Rosewill Challenger case. I believe the problem is that one of the corners of this slot (bottom right) is curved, therefore not giving enough clearance to the square corners of the radiator. Has anyone else managed to install a Corsair H60 inside a Rosewill Challenger case? I attached a picture of that curved corner. Is it possible to bend or solder this metal to push it out of the way? Another possible cause are these 2 protruding pins (one of which you can see just above that curved corner), but I cannot remove them easily because they have no holes for a screwdriver (possibly soldered pieces). In the other photo, you can see the radiator placed in the slot, but there is a gap in the top left where it is not flush with the case due to whatever is obstructing it. Because of this, I cannot screw it in as the screw holes are not aligned.

Hello, Been watching Linus Tech Tips on youtube for a minute, amazing stuff. And i'm new to this forum hoping to get some advice I've had this case for awhile and am looking to improve the cooling in the system. My question is in regarding the CPU liquid cooler that I have and how best to move air through the radiator and in what direction. These are my specs: CPU: Intel - Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Corsair - H60 (2018) 57.2 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Motherboard: Gigabyte - GA-Z170N-Gaming 5 Mini ITX LGA1151 Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2400 Memory Storage: Crucial - MX200 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Storage: Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Video Card: XFX - Radeon RX 470 4GB HS Triple X Video Card Power Supply: SeaSonic - FOCUS Plus Gold 550W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply Case Fan: Noctua - NF-F12 industrialPPC-3000 PWM 109.9 CFM 120mm Fan As my case is set up with the limited space, I intend to have the Noctua case fan in the front attached to the heat radiator from the Corsair CPU cooler. The PSU will of course be at the back which will be drawing air in from the top of the SG13 case vents and releasing hot air out through the back(?) The video card will also be drawing air from inside the case and out through SG13 side vents(?) My specific question is this: Should my Noctua case fan be set up so that it is "pulling" cool air from outside of the SG13 case, passing through the CPU cooler radiator, and then into the SG13 case? ( air outside front of case-> case fan -> radiator -> air inside case) OR Should my case fan be "pulling" air from inside the SG13 case, passing through the CPU cooler radiator, and then out of the front of the case? (air inside case -> radiator -> case fan -> air outside front of case) Which scenario would work best for the overall ventilation of my components considering the ventilation of the PSU, video card, and the fact that there is only one case fan to deal with the CPU cooler radiator? Your help will be much appreciated! Wishing you wellness, TH

I have just build a new pc with the following specs: Asus z370-p Intel i7-8700k Corsair H60 Asus GTX1080 NZXT H440 Samsung 960EVO 250GB WD 1TB Black Corsair TX850M And when I start it up it says "cpu fan error" and I press F1 to run, then when I get into bios my cpu fan is not detecting (N/A) but my aio pump is running at 1800-1900 rpm. My cpu temperature steadily rise, and continues to rise after hitting 68 and I turn it off, of course. My Corsair H60 is connected to cpu_fan on the motherboard and it's fan is connected to aio_pump, I can see the fan running and it's deteced in bios, but I don't know if the pump is running, and I don't think it is, since it isn't detected and cpu temps rise steadily. Should I connect something differently? or is my cooler broken? or is it some setting I have to change? I appreciate any help I know the picture is really bad and the screen isn't set right but just ignore it :), you can't really see the cpu temps neither but within a few minutes it will have risen from 30 to like 60 degrees celcius.

Hi, So, I finally decided to test to see how well this chip overclocks but I think I got bad luck with this chip. I'm getting 77 degrees max with only a 1.1 core voltage setting and only a multiplier of 42 This is on an MSI z97 pc mate board with an i7 4790k cooled with a corsair h60. I mean, the h60 certainly isn't the best radiator but I expected to get to at least 1.25 before seeing temperatures like that. It gets to 1.25 on idle and stock settings (no overclock) just fine but I can see the chip thermal throttles down to 3.6 ghz on stock settings with prime95 running.. I've turned turbo off, I changed it to fixed instead of dynamic and only changed the vcore and multiplier.. nothing else. Am I doing something wrong, or did I just get bad luck with my chip? Is this really normal with an h60 at 1.1v? (the screenshot is of the prime95 test with the overclock max temp results not of the test without the OC)

Hey all, I need some advice. I have an h60 with a stock fan attached to my skylake i7 7700k. The cooler does not cut it, even in case temp of 13c (winter with windows open) the cpu was still getting up to 100c and performance was dipping down to 4000 MHz at the min (not happy...). My cinebench average is 933 normal room temp and cold room testing it was 953. I am a workstation user so cpu performance is a must. I want to be able to overclock. Is this normal or is my H60 unit defective? can I get away with the same cooler and upgrading to a push pull config with EKWB EK-Vardar F4-120ER (2200rpm) White High Static Pressure 120mm Cooling Fan. how much will buying nice thermal paste help? I'm not trying to spend more than $45 dollars fixing this problem... also my stock fan is loud under load (like loud- is that normal too?). thanks!

Yo LTT! This is my first forum post on my new computer. I just finished making it today. Pasts list: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/BGX7Gf Basically, what is a good recommended overclock for my rig? I have overclocked before, although I usually just guess and don't really know how to go about it. Any help is appreciated.

Hi, I was wondering if it was possible to install a Corsair H60 AIO cpu cooler in a Silverstone Sugo SG13B Mini ITX Tower Case while having a Evga supernova p2 650w powersupply (165mm in lenght). I know that if you remove the front optical drive tray the PSU should fit in without any problem but I am not sure if the H60 would have enough space to fit in there. I already have the PSU and I don't feel like buying a new one for this build. I'm open to any other AIO cooler that would fit in with this build or even a decent low profile heat-sink.

So, I've had some issues and errors recently in regards to my cpu temperature. I've had random shut offs and a single error message (cpu heat error), so I decided to open up the comp and check it out. I have a corsair h60 closed loop liquid cooler. I tried removing the cooler from the cpu, but I ended up accidentally yanking the cpu put of its socket, since it's stuck to the cooler from super hardened thermal paste! (I've had the same cpu and cooling configuration since about 2012, qnd never replaced the thermal paste, so that can explain why this happened.) I've attached a pic of the cpu/cooling block, if that helps. I don't know how to separate the cpu and the cooling block safely. Pls help!

Hey guys! This is my first post on LTT so I hope I'm doing everything right, that being said it's nice to finally be on the forums x). My Specs: Board: Asus M5a99fx Pro R2.0 CPU: AMD FX-9370 Black Ed. (cooler: Corsair H60) GPU: NVIDIA Gefore GTX 960 2Gb Strix OC Ram: 8Gb (2x4) Corsair Vengeance ddr3 1600 Mhz PSU: Corsair Cx 750m Case: Zodiac "Gemini" (I bought it locally in a pinch, don't judge.) 2X : Corsair AF120 Silent edition fans for front intake (Sorry if I'm forgetting anything important here) I Put this thing together over the weekend and was extremely satisfied with myself as it was my first ever build . After installing/updating windows, getting an antivirus and starting to download some games through steam I noticed my cpu was running at around 50 degrees celsius.. I immediately closed all my open programs except task manager and ai suite II and it dropped back down to about 30-32 *C. After alot of googling and browsing forums I've come to the conclusion (and please correct me if I'm wrong ) that i need to upgrade my CPU Cooler. Now this case doesn't have much clearance above the mobo and after getting the dimensions of a Noctua NH-D15 and comparing it to my set up, it looks like it will infact fit. So I'm really just wondering if anyone has used or is using an NH-D15 on an FX-9370.. or if someone can give me any sort of guidance/reccomendation here as to whether this cooler will be compatible with my motherboard and full profile ram and if it will keep up with the temperature demands of my cpu. All help is extremely appreciated Nugsy

I was wonder which one i should get for my new PC. the ZALMAN reserator 3 MAX or the corsair H60?? I'm going to be overclocking my core i5 4690K so i need a good cooler. i know the ZALMAN is really expensive in the US compared to the H60, but they are basically the same price here in Japan. So ignoring the prices, which is better?

When I first bought the parts for my computer, I thought that the Corsair H60 would be a good option due to its low price and the fact that it is a watercooler. Over the next few months after I got it, I realized that it was not the best choice and was kinda loud, but I kept my i7 4770k at stock clocks and the temps stayed below 75 degrees when at full load generally. Recently I overclocked it to 4.2 GHz and had F@H running as I normally do while doing general web browsing. A few days ago, I got a notification from CAM (the NZXT monitoring utility) that my CPU had hit 96 degrees and that it should not be running that hot. Shocked, I went to check the temps from the past hour and it regularly went over 90 degrees. This made me realize that I need a better cooler. I have always wanted to make my own custom loop and plan to do it with the iMac thing that I'm in the process of designing. However, I don't have the funds atm to properly watercool the components in my pc (GPU, CPU) with the loop that I had planned out for it ( 420mm radiator modded into the front of my case, 360 up top, acryllic tubing, EK CSQ water blocks etc.). I only have ~$100 to spend and NCIX is selling the Swiftech H220 for that much. Should I get the H220 and then when I have enough money saved up, take out the H220 (to be used somewhere else) and install a full custom loop or just try not to do anything strenuous with my i7 until I have the funds for the full loop, which will be at least 6 months from now? Edit: Rephrased question.

hello, i am looking on some support on how to cool my case. the image shows my case and how i plan to cool it, but im not sure this is the best way. i currently have: 1*120mm intake from the front 1*140mm noctua fan in-taking from the side panel PSU/GPU outputting in the back 2*140mm at the top of the case drawing air out as heat rises and a corsair h60 that will soon be put in, which im not sure to have in-taking fresh air into the radiator from the back then having the hot air taken out from the top or have it so the hot air is just pushed out of the radiator out of the back of the case would appreciate the help
