I will start with 5 ltrs of Ultra Pure H20 and then add PT Nuke. I will use Mayhem Dyes to make it a green color afterwards. Will this be a good fluid mix for my loop? I want it to be an opaque color but if this makes it transparent that's fine too. If someone knows a better way to make it opaque, then let me know. Thanks! I apologize if I've made this topic hard to read, but I'm on the go as of now posted this on my iPhone 6, but I really wanted to get this out before I forget and left anything out. Originally I had my heart sat on the AMD FX-9590 but read all the negativity online about how hot it gets and even water cooling cannot cool down the processor, but I changed my decision to purchase the processor and just want/went with the AMD FX-8350 Black Edition, because I fear I'd damage my rig with overheating and other risks and dangerous. with spending so much money a processor kind of pricey and dies within a few months so as people often conversate about. the processor due to excessive heat problems. Here are two other liquid coolers that I seek and very undecided on. And very unsure about those due to reviews, which makes all of this a very hard decision of my choosing, I do know that things aren't built to be perfect just like other brands when everyone thinks brand A is better than brand B & C. Only thing that bothers me about the liquid coolers I have the fear that the tubes especially by watching and doing a little research on leakage from viewing pictures, videos, and other things on youtube stating liquid CPU coolers I'm extremely shocked about the FX 9590 on how the temperature rises above with crazy temps at its peak not even with gaming which is a total disaster after reading so many reviews, video reviews, word of mouth, an Below are the following that I considered on purchasing
Zalman: Reserator 3 Dual Ultimate Reserator 3 Corsair: H100i Hydro Series H80i GT
I've Also had a few more others in mind, I forgot which cooler(s) I had in mind wish I would have written things down on a notepad. I am looking into doing my first custom loop and was wondering what would be the best coolant or tubing to match my build. It's green and black and lots of it is painted with plast dip blaze green. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hello, This is my first real "question" post on these forums so I apologize if I'm not as thorough with my question. Also to note, this is my first water cooling build, I've done TONS of air cooled and closed loop systems but never a custom loop. That being said, is it ok to mix coolants? Example, I want to achieve a color like this https://mayhems.co.uk/coolants/pastel-coolants/pastel-concentrate-250ml/green-250ml/ without using any "dye", but I also want to have it UV reactive if possible. Glowing a neon green when exposed to UV in the dark and more of a pastel/matte color when no UV light is on it. Is it possible to mix pastel colored liquids with like a clear UV reactive liquid? Thanks for any replys!

I'm looking for a decent coolant for my blood red system and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations. I don't mind if it's a premix or distilled water dye etc, but I've heard of quite a few red fluids which separate, change colour, badly dye tubing and resevoirs or react with components. So has anyone and suggestions? Oh, and I've seen the EK premix, and don't really want a pinkish colour. cheers

So, i was talking with my dad about water cooling and, as he knows a lot about this next thing, comparing it with cars cooling system and he said "they all use water for cooling their PCs, but why don't they use car coolant? it's a liquid engineered to conduct heat and to not corrode metals" and, well, it makes sense since it's a liquid designed to cool things, and the price is not a thing here because 1L or 2L of car coolant can't be more than US$10 (at least in my country). I want to note that i'm not even a novice in water cooling, i'm less than that, but i still have the right to think about it. And it would be cool (not a pun) if someone "benchmarked" car coolant vs water/distilled water, to know.

I am putting together a hard line setup over the next month, and went to go order some extra PETG tubing from DazMode. I noticed an interesting little note this time around: " Attention: Glycol based coolants are not recommended for PETG type of plastic, such as DazMode Protector, Feser One, Nanoxia CF1, Koolance, EK EVO, Mayhems XT. Mayhems Pastel, EK Pastel or Ice Dragon nano-liquids are OK for PETG tube projects, but if you wish to use non-recommended coolants, you'd betetr switch to Acrylic tubing." I feel like this is a topic that needs a data base of compatible and incompatible cooling liquids for use with PETG hard line setups have become much more popular, and coolant compatibility for PETG is not covered in the watercooloing faq sticky. So far for I have identified 3 coolants that are safe for use with PETG: Distilled water obviously, all Primochill liquids and Mayhems X1 line of coolants.

Help me pick a sexy tube & coolant combo
VenomSnake posted a topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
I am working on a build where I will be using hard tubes and want to have a black/red color scheme. I have bought a set of UV reactive red/pink colored Primochill acrylic tubes already but I am not sure if I want to have a colored coolant. Today I also received my FusionQ dual bay reservoir that has a red UV reactive spiral structure inside the reservoir (the coolant doesn't go inside the structure - that's for display only, coolant goes inside the reservoir itself). When I put the primochill tube and the fusionQ reservoir side by side, there was an obvious disparity of glow between the two. The FusionQ reservoir is far more "brighter" than the hollow tube. When I added the bright LEDs of the fan to the mix, it was pretty hard to tell that the tube is even UV reactive when it was in front of the light. I am uploading a picture that I took with my DSLR, but it does make it look better than what the naked eye can tell. It looks almost transparent when in light. I am planning on putting the fans in pull configuration so the light will be blocked by the radiators. Still, if I can make it look more sleek with a darker shade of red I rather do that. I am going to have red LEDs on the video cards and the CPU block though. So at this point I am thinking of using something like blood red tubing from primo chill to keep that look. The other thing is, the CPU block and the video cards have transparent acrylic on them. If I use simple distilled water, it won't have that red running through them. I was leaning towards a combination of UV reactive red acrylic tubes and Mayhem red pastel combo, but then I am afraid the pastel will hide the FusionQ reservoir's spiral helix. I have come up with a few options: 1. Use red UV tubes with blood red coolant - keep the glow + red color throughout 2. Use blood red tubes with blood red coolant - lose the glow but keep a better looking red colored tubes regardless of the lightening conditions. This also adds the option to add more LEDs. 3. Use clear (or blood red) tubes with pastel red - No glow and darker red. This will only work if pastel doesn't hide the helix in the FrozenQ due to it's opacity. 4. Use UV tubes with a UV reactive coolant - keep the glow, this seems like something worth trying but then I have read plenty of warnings about UV coolants having all kinds of clogging issues. The reason for me insisting on red coolant is due to the acrylic on CPU + GPU blocks being transparent. I figured red running through them will look great. Although the cpu block is XSPX raystorm pro with a red LED and the GPU is 980ti hydro copper (which has the top side covered so I won't get to see that anyways). Any other ideas are welcome. -
I wanna use mayhems pastel coolant in my build, but I heard that colored coolants will gunk and destroy whole loop. Is it true? If I use this this coolant will it happen to me? Thanks.

I'm currently using H100i cooler but then I noticed that my CPU is hitting high temps than usual. So I (stupidly) decided to change the coolant but I found out that the tubes' holes are so tiny. Is there anyway to fix this? Help?

So I'm a newb and I have just purchased some cheap Chinese coolant to save some cost and to experience first. The brand is called Enginia, and I don't seem to find any review of them on the internet. However, even though I had never opened its bottle, I noticed a lot of floating junk inside it, I asked the seller and he said it's fine, those are just condensed chemical inside the water and will be mixed when the pump is working. Here are some pictures: Looks like gunk to me. What do you guys think? Is it safe to run the system under this coolant? I feel kinda nervous and want to return these, since I have some type of OCD and I want some perfect coolant, unless I'm wrong and every coolant out there is the same, which makes the seller's words true.

Going to buy some coolant for my loop. Im new to this and want to know, can i just run only demineralized water, or what should i run?

I plan to upgrade my system to x99 with an x99-a from asus. As its colorscheme is white I will need a white coolant, of course! I would like to use an water additive, but I couldn't find any! I found a coolant by Mayhems: Mayhems Pastel - Ice White 1000ml Is it any good? Is there any additive out there? Please let me now!

Hei there fellow watermen. i was interested in trying something ive read some attempts about but still am unsure if would work. i whant to mod a h110 gt to run two radiators. and i i have a few questions in mind. Has anyone tryed it? did it work? is it har to re fill after i connect the secound rad? does it brake warrenty? what pipe and nipple sizes should i go for? and so on. how would i get excess air out of the rads and pump? and is the h110 pump at all, strong anough for 2 rads? i was looking at the EKWB RAD XTX 360 as for the secound radiator. using it as excoust in the top. and the 280mm h110 rad as front intake. what more is there to think about before i go about ordering the things i need for it? did i miss any vital points? thx -toby

I will be building a complete watercooled system and of course I'll need some tubing. Planned are fittings with 13/10mm (ID 3/8" OD 1/2"),as it is the most common one; so the tubing should be compatible with that. Also it should bend well and shouldn't kink when doing a tight bend. Furthermore it should be very clear and shouldn't stain over extended periods of time. It also should'nt be that expensive. Please post me your suggestions!

Hey im really new at water-cooling so I want to know what type of coolant is best for prolong use. I read in the mayhems site that the mayhems pastel last 2 years without needing to replace the coolant. But is the best I can get? I really want to know about distilled water and biocide life time in the loop. Thank you for the help!

Greetings!! Today I have the burden of choosing between 2 stuff I don't know much about.. I need to pick a coolant tomorrow morning.. The only stuff we can get around here are Mayhems and/or EK.. Questions: 1. Is it true that the color "RED" is notorious for clogging up loops? 2. Are Pre-Mixed Coolants better than Dyes/Biocides/Anti-Corrosion mixes? or vice versa? (Pros Cons?) 3. How long before I (Ideally) change my coolant. 4. Is it true that distilled water + biocide/anti-corrosion will be the "Healthiest" coolant for my loop? Thanks a lot

I'm in the process purchasing the parts to my dream computer. I'm getting a XSPC RayStorm D5 Photon RX480 V3 WaterCooling Kit, an extra rad most likely, and a EVGA Titan X Hydro with ek block. I want a Phanteks Enthoo Primo but they come in different colors and I want to decide what color coolant before I pick the case. I wanted to see if people had pictures of coolant color and tube color combos. I know some don't like dyes so save the hate as I've read that. I'm particularly interested in combining uv tube with UV coolant. I am really curious how UV clear tube looks with blood red or other colors also. Originally I was going to go clear tube with UV red but research has told me that is actually glowing pink. I have had a hard time finding pictures of those so I hope some of you can share. Side note: MB and Ram are black and red (ROG)

Alright guys so i have a question that seems pretty unique but i am hoping to find an answer for it. I am looking for a dye for my loop that is orange under normal light, and clear under UV light. I have heard there are some that go from black to clear so i was curious if it existed with orange. My plan with this is to have my loop orange under normal lighting conditions, and mix this with Mayhem's UV blue, and suddenly, BOOM, perfect Portal/ Aperture science color effect. Hopefully such a thing exists, thanks in advance everyone!

Hey, i was thinking about a custom water cooling loop. And i was wondering if there is any non-conductive coolant, because if the cooling loop is dripping and the coolant is conductive it would break the computer. Well i'm not an expert in that field... Tim

Hello forum. I was wondering if my EK Pastel Red coolant is discolored... I just installed everything and the loop has been stable for about a week. Is it worth checking to make sure no gunk has entered the loop, or is this normal? Also, my temps have seemed a little high. Running PRIME95 8 workers on max heat, I am getting 65 degrees C on cpu. Pump is turned up to max. CPU is 2nd block in loop. images:

Hello, I recently purchase Primochills ICE UV BLUE coolant. I held it up to the light and I can see at lest 20 flake-like clumps. They literally look like blue snow-flakes in the bottle. I'm guessing I shouldn't use it but as I am currently on a tight budget, do you think I could use a coffee filter of some sort to filter out those flakes? When I recieved the bottle it was frozen too since in BC it's cold. Maybe that caused the issue? Thanks. P.S I know dyed coolant isn't the best but I do like the look better than UV BLUE tubing and distilled water + PTNuke & dye is meh. I don't have enough money to buy anything else anyway.

Hello, about 5 months ago I added some Feser anti-corrosion into a full gallon of distilled water. I've kept the gallon ever since as I didn't have to empty the entire thing to fill the loop. I've kept an eye over the months and noticed the gallon has created condensation, seeing as it's been tucked away on the ground in a bookshelf (the gallon is near a heater. it's the winter so the gallon basically experiences dramatic changes from cold to warm). There have been water molecules that formed from within gallon over the time but I'm not sure if it's safe for me to fill my loop with it or not.. Is it perfectly safe to use? Or am I better off buying a new gallon of distilled water? (Also, because FrozenCPU is pretty much out of the question, where can I find some anti-corrosion for my loop? I've tried looking in Amazon but I can't find the one I bought from FrozenCPU)..
