Hi, I have good components i7 6700k 32gb ram gtx 980Ti asus maximus 8 extreme adata SSD 2x seagate 4tb hdd in raid 0. 1x toshiba hdd from an old laptop (used for media files, nothing else) I am wondering why my pc lags so much? Upon bootup my task manager shows 90-100 percent usage When I play games they will just freeze, audio will usually keep working. Discord stutters I also made another thread which was never resolved, when I move a chrome window around it lags. I do plenty of antivirus checks, and dont see anything using a ton of resources. Why is this? I noticed this issue after trying to overclock according to linus' tutorial, whilst stress testing, the screen went black. I immediatly went into bios, reset, redid my raid, and used the asus tuner to OC. I am noticing WORSE performance than BEFORE I tried to OC. Why is this?

When buying a motherboard, less is often more. But just how much can you save by buying the CHEAPEST option available? Buy the ECS A55F on Amazon: http://geni.us/0UjCTG Buy an ASUS ROG STRIX B250G LGA-1151 motherboard instead Amazon: http://geni.us/ayCqrP Newegg: http://geni.us/AjA7tY Buy an ASUS PRIME B350 AM4 motherboard instead: Amazon: http://geni.us/kaXmP Newegg: http://geni.us/oUAnaBz

Hi, earlier today i finally got that hard earned money, and thank god, there is this community, that could (Im hoping) help me building MY first gaming computer. Things im plan to do with this pc: game, light recording to youtube, school things. Plans ive got for this build: no rgb (sorry rgb fans ) (cuz it is costy) I want to play at 1080p mid-high no custom cooling (I can't understand anything in this jazz) I think I like how AMD's Ryzen 5 1500X performs I want an SSD (about 100gb) for my booting drive for hard drive I only need about 1TB (or less) My budget is: $500-600 (around that) Around 8GB of ram Im kinda new to choosing parts to build with, so please help me hunting for computer components. (btw, I know how to build it, I only need help choosing) Thx you for reading this to the end m8!

Hey guys! I will use the PC mainly for Photoshop/Illustrator work and also for some Premiere/After Effects/Cinema 4D... I'm building a PC for gaming and productivity. I want play all games at high settings. At least 60 FPS, 1080p and 1440p. I found these components for 1058 euros, which is also the limit of my budget. Some parts I'm purchasing in Germany, some in the US and some in Slovenia. I'm not sure about the cooler and the PSU. Maybe some others for the same price are better. I'm also planning to buy the LG Ultrawide 34UM58-P monitor later. I want to hear your thoughts on this setup. Any advice if I should change something? Thanks! https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rQ3KD8

I am looking to make a mini itx case however I want something that is capable of holding a 240mm all in one liquid cooler as well as has a sidepanel window that will show the gpu with a riser card. Is there a case on the market that would have both of these features?

Hello everyone, Me and my f@cked up buddy we will start a huge project building our own pc case as "tidy" as possible for watercool, 2 gpu etc etc etc.... So I was thinking if we can find some general components as a solidwork parts so we can just implement them instead of designing them. I know that @TaranLMG did some project with 3D printing. I don't want to spent 3 months just to make all the part (I don't really mind if they are not in the exact shape). Thank you very much and I hope I will have a positive response!

Ever since i built my pc i ran i small anoying things: my gpu has a horible coil noise(gtx 1060),I updated the bios and i can't update or downgrade anymore, games freze sometimes 50 times a day or none, the acrilic window has a LOT of micro scratches, if i overclock my screen refresh rate it works but the screen tearing is more noticable!, a freking phanteks fan that came with the case is broken and all of this after spending all my savings on my build! Everyone should write their complains here, and i will reset cmos one day soon if the bios pisses me enough!

Incase anyone missed it, you can now keep your windows active after component upgrades i.e motherboard, cpu. " If you made a significant hardware change to your device (such as replacing the motherboard) Windows 10 might no longer be activated. If you're running Windows 10 (Version 1607) and added your Microsoft account and linked it to the digital license on your device, you can use the Activation troubleshooter to reactivate Windows. For more info, see Using the Activation troubleshooter."

Hey guys, im in need for some wisdom. What do i have: i5 3570k, 16gb ram cas9 1600mhz corsair vengeance, gigabyte ga-b75m-d3h motherboard and a gtx970, wd hdd 7200rpm 1tb of storage and windows 7. Why do i use it for: Mainly 3D software such as unreal engine, blender, substance suite, photoshop, and video editing. Problem: The system takes huge amounts of time to boot, the programs also take loads of time to start, projects can take up to 45 min. Questions: The problem im sure mostly lies in the hdd but... Could also change my motherboard help me improve the performance? Should any of the components be changed? If so: what should i change it for? Are some of the components bottlenecking the others? Should i just move to ddr4 and also change my processor to gain significant performance improvements? ANY HELP IS MUCH APPRECIATED, CHEERS.

Hi there guys, I am new to LTT forums and I have been following the channel for a year now. I am trying to build a rig that handles small photogrammetry projects and gaming. Since I live in Ecuador, a country located in South America, I don't have easy access to PC components, so I bought what I could and wanted to know if this mess wil work somehow. My tower has a micro-ATX Pegatron Odense Motherboard that supports up to 2x8 GB DDR3 RAM at 1600 MHz each (can't really upgrade to DDR4 because the motherboard doesn't support it), an Intel Core i7-6700K processor, a NVIDIA GEFORCE 1660 6GB graphics card, a Samsung 860 QVO 1 TB SSD, a Seagate Barracuda 2 TB HDD (7200 rpm) and a Cougar Gaming 600W PSU. I am running Windows 10 and the photogrammetry software is known as AliceVision Meshroom. Thank you for your help! :)

I would ask this on a website from my country. but there aren't any, so i am just gonna hope some of you guys know what i'm talking about. So I am looking to build a new pc and i stumbled upon some great deals on a sh site(only does business within my country) that had brand new SEALED components, with no warranty unfortunate, for damn cheap. At least when talking about motherboards. Does anyone know if there is a catch? The guys who usually sell those kind of stuff have lots of offers, like 5-10 type of boards(both for am4 and 1151) and every cpu that launched recently(all ryzen chips + all 8th & 9th gen intel). Not even gonna start on gpus. The thing is they are all "sealed, brand new" but without warranty. I live in Europe, Romania if that matters.

This thread is nothing major I was just looking for suggestions for my rig. Currently it has a i7 6700 (non K) an AsRock Z170 Pro4 motherboard (wasted on a non K I know but it is very pretty) 8GB Corsair LPX 2X4GB, Asus Strix GTX 970, CoolerMaster 212 evo with 2 120mm NZXT fans instead of the one that came on the cooler with its gawdy red LEDs, EVGA 600w PSU, 40GB SSD for OS and nothing more, 120GB SSD for programs, 500GB drive for games and another for media and it’s all wrapped together in a nice all black NZXT H500 case. Looking for suggestions to look at so as to keep it running smoothly or better. I don’t think it’s worth upgrading my mobo or CPU as its not an editing rig or streaming system it is literally a gaming and media machine at this point with some light audio recording on the side. Plays everything I want in high settings and a lot of stuff in ultra but prices are dropping at the moment for stuff like RAM and even GPUs so that’s not out of the question. If it’s worth upgrading I’ll look in to it but if I get comments saying it’s fine as it is I think I’ll just leave it alone and enjoy it. The thing is really pretty to look at. Got 2 orange fans at the front and then 2 LED strips across the top and back which I’ve set to blue and the colours compliment each other nicely. First rig I ever tried my hand at making look good so either way I’m proud of it, though the blasted sleeved cable for my mobo doesn’t sit perfectly straight in the case but nevermind. Suggestions folks?

I recently bought a sp120 red led as a front intake fan and its rpm is kinda jittery. On initial startup it shoots up to 1600 then after sometime it drops to 1480 and increases to 1550 and then drops back again and keeps repeating this. I also have a Coolermaster fan but that isn't doing this, it stays stable at 1890-1900 all the time. What could be the issue here? Is the fan faulty?

Hello, I want to build my first pc (gaming) but I don't have a high budget ( 400€ - 430€ germany). I've spend a lot of time searching and comparing pc pieces and I think I have found good ones. I'm not an expert (more a noob) so could you please look if my chooses are good. I do have a Pc part picker list but there are some pieces that don't show up. So I've made a web where there are all the exact components. I just buy from amazon because I had very good experiences with the returns. I want to play minecraft with this pc and I have now a laptop with the intel i3-6006u with integrated graphics card intel hd 520 and it runs Minecraft between 50-60 fps but there are often frame drops and if there are a lot of chunk updates like Redstone the fps drops to 0-10. And Minecraft is a game that uses more the cpu than the gpu. So i think that the ryzen 3200g is better than the intel i3-6006u and it will have more fps. I3-6006u vs ryzen 3 3200g: https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i3-6006U-vs-AMD-Ryzen-3-3200G/m214467vsm824486 Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oC6CxTxat74 This is minecraft on ryzen 3 2200g: https://www.userbenchmark.com/PCGame/FPS-Estimates-Minecraft/3776/441833.441832.0.0.0 https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/TcwzHB My website where are all the components: https://spaceagle17buildsapc.blogspot.com/2020/02/my-pc.html Thank you guys a lot!

Hello, I just compared the price of processor in India and USA on amazon. There is a huge difference. The US one is cheaper even if I add the shipping cost by amazon. For eg. Ryzen 5 3600 costs 16500 INR (i.e. 223 USD) on Amazon.in while it costs $174 + $9(for shipping) = 183 USD on amazon.com. Saving $40 is a LOT on budget CPUs like this. I found similar trends on most components and peripherals. Can I buy these items on amazon.com and get them shipped here to build my own PC or am I missing something? If I can buy, please help me list out the pros and cons that I might be facing with the build in future. Also, how easy is it to get warranty services on such products? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I'm making a new pc build and I need help about some of the components. At the moment, I already have the graphics card and the ssd but I'm not sure if with the other components it will be fine. I use the pc to play, streaming a little bit and programming for work. So I don't know if the parts are fine. I don't want to spent more than 1800$. Thanks to all!!! Hello all, I am in the middle of saving up for my first build, I found 3 parts I want on eBay that are being auctioned. Given I win all 3 auctions I could save about $350 USD on parts. Should I bid or wait until I have enough money to buy all the parts at once? Thanks!!!

Hi! Im wondering if you guys think I should buy a RTX2060 or upgrade my cpu (have to buy new mobo and ram also)? Im looking for better performance in games, but can only afford one of the upgrades at the moment. My cpu and gpu: i5-3470 3.2ghz (used 6 years) 8gb DDR3 1300mhz GTX 970 (used 2.5 years) I know a RTX 2060 will be bottlenecked by the i5-3470, but it still gives better performance then with my gtx 970 and a i5-8400 or i5-9600k with 16gb ddr4 2666mhz, doesnt it? An upgrade with i5-8400, B-mobo and ram would cost the same as a RTX 2060 (500$). An upgrade with i5-9600k, Z-mobo, ram and cpu-cooler would cost 260$ more. Will most likely cpu or gpu prices drop in the future? What do you guys think would be my best option?
