Summary According to research firm Omdia, the Apple Vision Pro's bill of materials is $1,542. The most expensive part is the 1.25-inch Sony Semiconductor display, which enhances the virtual experience with high pixel density and lifelike colors. Apple pays approximately $228 for each Micro OLED display used in their Vision Pro headset. The second most expensive part in the Vision Pro is the main processor, the Apple M2 chip. Quotes My thoughts The high price of some components doesn't surprise me since there's some very high-end hardware in this product. It would be interesting to know what Apple's profit margin for the Vision Pro is, after things like R&D becomes part of the calculation. So, a friend asked me to find UPS for his system. Rough worst case estimate of power usage for that system should be 500W, so with PF of 0.6(everyone likes this number) a UPS above 830 VA should be enough. But I want to understand this better. His sys specs intel 13400 6750xt DDR 4 ram, 8GB x 2 1tb crucial p3 corsair RM850e 27" QHD 165hz monitor, have to ask for model number. dont remember motherboard model or make so now my doubt is what are the power factor for each of those components. Main power consuming components are CPU, GPU and then monitor. So if we account for them it is enough right? I asked google bard for PF values for CPU and GPU and it tells me that they should be 0.85 - 0.95 for intel CPU, Nvidia GPU and 0.8 - 0.9 for AMD cpu and gpu. Are these values correct and what about monitor PF. Modern power supplies also comes with PFC( power factor correction circuits).so, Another question is since PSU have PFC circuits, does it even matter what the components PF values are since they are dealt with in PSU and all that matters is PSU efficiency? If not then should we first calculated total power for CPU, GPU and then multiply with PSU efficiency to get final system power? and why does UPS makers assume 0.6 as power factor, I mean they give rated power in Watts so low compared to rated power in VA. I have a HP Compaq 4000 Pro (SFF) PC that I wanted to buy a GPU for since it only has an integrated GPU. My cousin recommended me an Nvidia GT series GPU, A GT 610 one but he told me to make sure it fits into the PC, I know they aren't the best but I am trying to make this PC as cheap as possible to run some games, Can I fit a GT 610 into the PCI-e slot of the HP Compaq 4000 Pro (SFF) that I have? Pic: View: https://imgur.com/a/ogXJ4Vu Specs: Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz 3.00 GHz RAM: 4GB DDR3 (Dual Channel) GPU (integrated): Intel B43 Express Chipset Storage: 1x 80GB HDD, 1x 500GB HDD OS: Windows 10 (Home) Version: 21H1 build: 19043.1149 (normally you can only add 1 HDD, I added another by taking out the SATA cables from the DVD drive and using them with the second HDD, the DVD drive doesn't work anymore but I didn't use it anyway.) It has a PCI-e slot and I did some research and people say that a GT 610 can be added onto it, I hope it does!

I'm hunting around for particular PC components to build a new computer so I turned to eBay and, unfortunately, found the majority of them are being sold from China. I checked this article out on buying items from China on eBay and used it as a reference to watch a a couple of items whose sellers have mostly postivie feedback. But I thought I'd ask around here for some further help and advice. Thanks.

Budget: ~$500 Country: US Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hi Everyone, I made my first build about 2 years ago, but my case is kind of failing, so i want to upgrade the case, power supply, and maybe motherboard/cpu depending on if there's anything good upgrades reasonably priced. Im also planning on getting a 3070 with this new build, so i want this to account for that as well. I do want RGB for the case, but I don't care about RGB for anything else. For the power supply, I just want it to be modular. I am looking to spend $50-100 for the case and $50-100 for the power supply. Can I get suggestions of what would be good and compatible with this current build? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/K6zW4s

Hi, this is my first post here. I am trying to build a mid-range yet beefy gaming rig, the only other useage I would have is simple office work, maybe Canva at a stretch. I live in Canada so there are some shipping restraints from some companies (also CAD). My budget was 1.5k but that seems to have gotten out of control as my current parts list is at 2k. I am upgrading this from a non-gaming Lenovo laptop who's only redeeming quality is it's 12gb of RAM. My list rn is: i5 12600k: Best buy $324 B660 MSI pro wifi m-atx (size doesn't matter it was the cheapest): B&H $188 Samsung 980 SSD 500gb M.2: Amazon $75 Corsair icue 220t airflow case: Amazon $125 Corsair Vengeance lpx 3600mhz 16gb RAM: Best Buy $90 Seasonic focus PSU 750W gold full-mod: Newegg $110 Asus rtx2060 oc dual-fan: Amazon $580 Windows 11 home usb key: Amazon $124 I'm looking for a second opinion, and if you have any thoughts on how to spend less for a nonexistent to minimal performance loss then please share, thanks!

Budget (including currency): Keep it reasonable Country: Canada Programs or workloads that it will be used for: Multiple Solidworks virtual machines, (Probably less than 4), and various other less intensive VM's. Also a file server. Other details I want to build a professional server to host about 3-5 Solidworks applications at the same time. Also want to host some smaller VM's and also want it to act as a file server, probably around 20tb. The reason I want this is because I'm doing some Solidworks training and don't want to buy a bunch of workstations, (Performance is ideal but not very critical). Planning on replacing the current Synology NAS with this and using the Synology as a backup for the server. What kind of specs would I need for this and is feasible?

A minute ago a friend of mine ask me for help and its a problem I haven't encountered yet, internet is not helping as well. He said that his PSU suddenly explodes. I ask him this few questions. Q) Is the PSU new? A) Yes its is 3 months old. Q) What is its power rating? A) Its a Gigabyte Bronze 550w Q) Did it smoke when you heard a noise. A) No I just heard a sound something that blew up. This is the first time I encountered this. I also don't know what happened, because there is no smoke that came out. My question is what do you guys think blew up, is it possibly a fuse? Is it possible that other components are still safe?

My PC Specs are - CPU - Ryzen 5 2600 GPU - GTX 1660TI MOBO- MSI B450 PRO VDH PLUS RAM- Kingston 8gb 2400mhz ram (2x4) HDD - 1TB WD Purple @5400rpm (wdc wd10PURZ-85U8XYO) SSD - ADATA 120gb ( on which I have my windows installed) PSU - Antec 500W So, I was playing zero horizon dawn complete edition on my pc the other day and I used all high, medium and console setting but in each one of them, my games was stuttering when I used to enter a new location. For a few seconds it used to be very laggy then after some time it gets back to normal and I was getting about 55-75 fps average on the game at high settings. I think it is due to 2 factors my 8GB ram or my slow HDD which is 5400 rpm only. I am thinking about what should I upgrade because I like playing games like these and I am thinking to play cyberpunk 2077. I don't want to go through this horrible experience again but I am limited on budget and can only upgrade one component as of now either a 250GB SSD or 8GB 3000mhz ram. If you think these both components are what causing the issue please tell me which one should I upgrade to first to have the most impact because I can do only one at this time and the other will require at least 6 months to upgrade. Or if you think it is due to any other reason please let me know. I played RDR2 also but I never faced such an issue of having lag when visiting a new place in-game or even lag in the game. Please guide me thank you. I am considering these for the upgrades - RAM- Adata XPG 3000mhz Ram SSD 240GB - Crucial SSD WD Green SSD Kingston SSD

Hello, I could use some help picking out what components to upgrade for my next build! No budget really, but hopefully below $1500 if not $1000. I'll take any aftermarket cooling advice for the case and cpu too! I have no RGB Current Build: Corsair Air 540 with stock fans Intel Skylake 6700k with the stock CPU cooler Asus z170 pro gaming Gskill F4-3000C15-GVRB 32gb DDR4 Two 1TB WD Blue HDD Samsung Evo 850 Pro 512GB Boot Drive EVGA GTX 970 Superclocked ACX 2.0 Unsure what PSU I have but I believe its 850w I haven't touched a single component on my PC since 2015 or around there. I want to upgrade what I currently have but don't know which parts are okay for now and which aren't. I am definitely an Nvidia and Intel fanboy. So I would like to stick with them. I plan on upgrading to a 3080 but am waiting to see if they announce a 20gb model. I also am running on a 60hz 1080p monitor which I plan on upgrading to a 144hz 1440p one soon! Don't want to build a brand new rig, merely touch up my old one.
