I've decided that I love Cherry Blues. My only problem is that if I bring a keyboard full of them home and hop on my computer, my friends will become demons. The sound of Blues is unacceptable to them because they have the "master race reds" (MRR.) They say that "MRRs" are superior because they are quieter and double tap faster, but the feel and sound of blues is heaven to me. My mic will almost definitely pick up the sound of Blues and they will try to murder me. I use a G230 headset (which will soon be buried and remembered because of the many drops that it has suffered by my clumsy hands) and I want to know if you guys have had this problem and possibly how to deal with it. If I find no viable fix, I shall befriend the Browns which I like too, just not as much. Also, what is you're recommendation of a good, cheap Browns keyboard with backlighting and preferably a wrist rest? Thanks.

So recently my CM Storm Rapid died. Decided to harvest the switches for the time being to clean it off. Now I have spare parts lying around for a project. What PCBs would be compatible with the CM Storm Rapid (plate-wise and case-wise)? I plan on reviving the keyboard as I loved typing on it. Also, what other things would I need to get this project going?

Hi. (Yes, I'm new.) Anyways, I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good mechanical keyboard in the $100-175 range. I prefer Cherry MX Browns, but maybe Reds would be fine too. I just have absolutely no idea what the best one to pick is. Kinda leaning away from Razer, but I might pick one up if you can convince me. Thanks!

Hey guys! I'm planning a build soon, and it turns out that the theme is going to be black and blue (total accident, lol). To go with this build, I'd like a mechanical keyboard, preferably with blue LED backlights. The only problem is that any blue LED keyboards I've seen online usually have Cherry MX blues, which is a deal breaker as I believe the noise from MX blues would drive my girlfriend nuts. Because of this, I'm looking for a Cherry MX red style mechanical key type - relatively quiet, light, and without a tactile bump (personal preference). Do any of you know any keyboards that would suit my needs? As far as style preferences go, I really like the look of both the Corsair K70 RGB (I would get that, but it's a bit expensive and I would most likely not use the all of the cool LED effects, so it'd be a bit of a waste) and the Cooler Master Quick Fire Ultimate (Perfect, except for the Cherry MX blues and lack of a wrist-rest. But I can live without the wrist rest). Thanks in advance for any replies.

Source: http://www.tomshardware.com/news/corsair-strafe-mechanical-gaming-keyboard,29212.html I quite like this new keyboard, it looks pretty damn sleek, the letters look nice, the style I mean. It will also work like the RGB keyboards with the software, but it only has red lighting, you can make different lighting effects though instead of just static lighting. It also has a USB port which people missed on the RGB line. see also: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/378157-corsair-to-introduce-new-strafe-keyboard/?p=5110504

Hi there, I recently bought my self a Daskeyboard 4 Ultimate for my personal use at home (awesome keyboard BTW) anyway, now I also want to purchase one for work (programmer, so I do mostly type at work...) but I do not want to spend another 180$~ (was cheaper to simply but the keyboard with extra 11$ then sending it to Israel from any country as far as ive seen...) Is there any keyboard worth looking at around 100$? p.s. I would really like the switches to be brown (i really like them... might add O Rings to make the keybaord a bit more quite at work...) and I need shipping to Israel. I have seen the ducky shine 4 community edition at mass drop, and it seems awesome, only problem is that shipping is another 33$ (above the base price of 129...) many thanks in advance!!

Hey everyone, I am looking for a full size cherry MX brown keyboard with a backlight, preferably blue or white. It needs to be under 100$ shipping included and avaible in Canada. So far I have come up with a thermaltake poseidon z on newegg for 90$ shipping included. Can anyone give some advice if I should go ahead and buy it or choose another one. Thanks!

So, most of you know the glorys of a mechanical keyboard. They are just so much nicer to use than membrane keyboard. However, most of the people here only know or have Cherry keyboards, dismissing the others. Sure, some other keyswitches are basically cherry clones, and are just cheaper versions, made in china. There are other makers, who make keyswitches, that are not just Cherry clones, but a new thing within itself. The main makers are Topre, and Matias. In this review, ill be taking a look at the Matias click, and quiet click switches, clones of the discontinued Alps SKBM White and Alps SKBM Black respectively. The keyswitch housing are clear, unlike the older Alps counterparts. This allows LED's to be placed under the switch, as there is no hole for an LED. Now the main part of this is the feel and the sound. The Matias Click switches are very satisfyingly clicky. I dare say, they are more clicky and satisfying than cherry MX blues. They are not quiet as clicky as clasic IBM model M bucking prings though. The Matias Quiet Click switches feel very similar to my Apple Adjustable Keyboard, using Alps SKFS. I feel they are more satisfying feeling than MX browns, and still relatively quiet. Overall, I enjoy the Matias switches more than their Cherry MX counterparts, and I feel i get a much nicer feel and sound. Now, and audio recording, so you can listen for yourself. http://yourlisten.com/Spwath.Spencertheminer_156_fb/switch-test

I have a feeling everyone will say 'Logitech g502', but I need a new mouse and that's my budget. I also need a new keyboard, 100% needs to be mechanical. Will definitely pay up to £60 if I need to. What's the best I can get for £50 or under?

So I need to know which switch is best for programming. Probably only cherry mx switches aswell

I've been looking into getting a mechanical keyboard for a while now and I was wondering if I could get some help from people in the community who already have experience with this sort of thing. One thing I was really curious about was keys. I know most gamers swear by cherry mx blues, but the click sounds too noisy to me, and a lot of people have talked about how reds can be too slippery and result in accidental key presses (something I know I'd be prone to) so I've decided on brown or black switches. I was wondering if anyone out there could let me know how these keys feel for typing compared to a membrane key switch like on the corsair k50, which I'm using right now (and plan to give to my girlfriend, who really likes it. No waste here) and let me know if there is a better option out there. Also, one very odd requirement i have is that the keyboard have a volume wheel. I realize this is ridiculous, but I really like them and in my past experiences, using the function keys as media control keys has rarely worked. As such, I've narrowed it down to two keyboards: the Das Keyboard 4 Ultimate (onto which I will put this vinyl sticker set) and the Logitech g710+. my only argument against the logitech g710+ is that people have been complaining about broken keycaps. I was hoping this was where someone could help me. Have you had bad experiences with either keyboard? Do you have a better suggestion? Thank you for reading, and if you have any second hand that you'd like to sell at a discount, let me know! The Das Keyboard 4 Ultimate The Logitech g710+

Hello, and thanks for reading this already! I'm planning on getting the Roccat MK Pro(That's the normal MK Pro, pretend its the FX) FX once it's released, but as it's mechanical my only problem is the sound . Now I found these Switch Dampeners, and I really want to install them. Are they compatible with every keyboard? Side question: does the red and blue mean for the kind of switches or is it just code? And another side question: will this mess up my backlighting? Thanks in advance!

Can anyone tell me if Kalih blacks and reds feel the same as Cherry blacks and reds. Hey! I am looking for a keyboard for my new computer. I saw razer had a sale, but I am looking for cherry mx switches. Does anyone know of good keyboards with cherry mx switches under $70? I currently live in the US, and I mostly would be using the keyboard for typing. Any keyswitches but cherry mx blue are great! Thanks!
