Hi all, I am looking to upgrade my current gaming keyboard which is a Logitech G213 membrane "mechanical feel" keyboard. I want to go mechanical, but I have no experience with mechanical keyboards so I do not know where to start. For workload this will be for casual gaming, and for a lot of web browsing and typing. I need a number pad still that is a must. Wired or wireless is fine no preference there. Backlit keys are also a must. The ability to be able to fix the keyboard like swappable keys would also be nice. The budget is $150 or around there but definitely nothing over $200.

Hi, I'm looking for mechanical keyboard recommendations, please. Sadly, I really don't have time for anything custom, as gorgeous as custom boards are I need a board pretty quickly and I work around 94hrs a week so even a spare hour is tough. I love MX browns (tactile) I'll be using it a Lot for work (general typing) and also all types of gaming Needs to be open design around the switches for easy cleaning (I have a lot of pets, no amount of cleaning stops pet hairs getting stuck under the keys) TKL Wired for gaming and Bluetooth for working I was looking at the Keychron K8 but the reviews are; "It's a nice entry/budget mech board that needs mods to make it nice". But I can't find anything else that ticks all the boxes, not from brands I've heard are good anyway. Any recommendations or ones to avoid would be helpful, thank you.

I’m thinking on getting the ducky one 2 mini pure white, I was thinking on getting it with cherry mx reds but heard they aren’t the best. The keyboard also comes with Kailh box whites, speed copper and speed pro burgundy. So my question is are Kailh switches good and if so what one should I go with out of the 3 or should I stick to cherry mx

Hey! This is my first post in a while. So, I've noticed recently that my keyboard chatters a LOT. Like, it's record is around 9 or 10 spaces when I press it once. I even installed this key chatter software and set it at 1 ms. It is reduced but still chatters. This is really getting on my nerves. I just wanna be able to type in peace. Even now, I'm constantly having to delete backspaces (that's the biggest culprit) and other letters. Anyone, know any other permanent solutions to stop this chattering? I don't want to return it because I paid $200 for it and it helps a lot when playing FPS games, that's why I got it in the first place. I tried adjusting my touch to no avail. I'm lost as to what do. This is me typing normally. Please h elp someebody. Men are dying out heere. I even got a frieend on discord, and this is all he ever gets because its impossiblee to ediit text when it's like this.

Hello, friends. Today, I'm going to bring you a review of a rather, interesting keyboard, the DSI 90-key USB Multimedia keyboard with Cherry MX Reds. What makes this interesting, you may ask? I paid only $20 for this, new. For reference, to get 90 Cherry MX Reds, you'd have to pay about $31. This keyboard cost me less than the switches. But that's not all, the unusual qualities of this board don't end there. This keyboard has a 3 port USB 2.0 hub built into it, but it's not powered by just the USB port. The keyboard comes with a hecking power plug. The "wall wart"-style plug connects to the keyboard via a round pin near the USB port. This is, according to the Newegg listing, to provide additional power to the USB hub. Thumbs up for that, I guess? This keyboard also features dedicated volume keys, a play/pause key that I can't seem to get working and the Fn key, along the left side of the board. "But wait", you ask, "what goes where the Fn key usually goes?" Well the answer to that would be a 1u Windows key for, some inexplicable reason. The bezel around the board is rather large, and with those media keys taking up a row of the keyboard then everything's kinda, shifted over to the right; it was wicked awkward getting used to this layout. I repeatedly hit the Mute key on accident during my testing period. The caps appear to be pad printed ABS, but the ink used for the lettering is rather cheap. The N key in particular shows a lot of wear after less than a week. Since the keyboard uses a completely non-standard layout - seriously, not even my Kira is this non-standard - I don't believe that finding better quality caps will be easy. They are not very thick and will produce a bit of sound as the user types. As far as the typing experience goes, let me say right off the bat that I do not like linear switches. I prefer the feedback that tactile switches provide as I type, and since Cherry MX Reds are so light it's insanely easy to accidentally actuate keys you don't want to type. Cherry MX Reds themselves are particularly scratchy; it feels like I'm typing on sandpaper. They are not very smooth at all, although this can probably be rectified by lubing the switches. As far as I can tell these are genuine Cherry MX Reds, but based on this first impression of a Cherry switch in a while I think I'm better off with "cheap Chinese clones" like Kailh. Actually, the moment I post this I'm going back to my Box Royals because they provide a much more satisfying typing experience, in my opinion. Ugh. I have heard that linear switches are supposed to be "better" for gaming compared to tactile switches, because of their more instant response, but I noticed no difference in my performance when playing games on my PC compared to my usual tactiles. Now, the positive side of things is, because this keyboard is so cheap (as of right now you can buy it for $22 on Newegg) there isn't much risk involved with modding, compared to a more expensive keyboard. I'm not sure when I'll try my hand at it but I'm pretty sure I'll be desoldering the board and replacing the switches with better ones down the road. Although, as I have previously stated, I do not like linear switches, so I will likely replace them with tactile switches. Maybe then I can also find a better-quality keycap set. Oh, and for those of you wondering, the USB cable is non-detachable, and there are no flip-up feet on the bottom of the board. The angle, which is rather flat, is the only one you get. Better get used to it, especially if you want this to be your main board. The build quality is surprisingly good for a keyboard that costs this much. The case is plastic, and there's not a lot of heft to it, but there's almost no flex at all. I'd assume that a rather thick, strong mounting plate is being used to give the board its rigidity. I'd have to check to make sure of this but damn is this thing strong! I bought this board for laughs because of its absurdly cheap price, but instead I'm walking away from it impressed because of how good it is in spite of its price. If you really want a cheap Cherry MX Red keyboard then this is the one to get, because there's really nothing that you can lose considering it costs so little. In fact, I'd say that because it costs so little, there's almost no risk if you decide to replace the switches with better ones. Just be aware that doing so will void your warranty, but... are you really going to cry if you break a $20 product? You've got nothing to lose with this one. Nowie out.

Hello all, I wanted to ask you guys for opinion if it is worth to get a mechanical keyborad. All the time I have been using a membrane keyboard and never saw a draw back (of course I cannot compare since I newer had a mechanical keyboard). Right now I am thinking of changing my old cheap keyboard which still works fine but is now just very worn off. I want to buy something more fancy than a 5Euro keyboard. So I mainly use the keyboard to type texts sometimes a bit to game and the keyboard need to have num pad buttons (no keyless variants would sufice). But most importantly I hate a very loud keyboard. Out of everything I looked I was able to find that Cherry MX browns are not as loud and found this keyboard HyperX Alloy FPS with Brown switched that costs about 79 Euros. I also found Razer BlackWidow with green switches for 95 Euros that looks way more clean and I would prefer that one over the HyperX but I am unsure about the sound of switches. On the other hand I was able to find membrane ones that look clean or even the same Razer Cynosa for 50 Euros altho I think it is a bit too expensive for a membrane one. Could you maybe help me guys to choose if I should go with mechanical one or not. If I would go with it I would probably try to customize the keyboard down the road so would be nice to know which would be better suited for that too.

So I just received the greatest gift ever, a Corsair Strafe mk2 with Cherry Mx red switches. I plugged it in and quickly realized the N key was ultra sensitive and would infinitely repeat upon triggering. Simply blowing on this keycap would trigger infinite N's. In all my research I see the general consensus is that dirt or some other particles get in the switch, but mine was fresh out of the sealed box. I'm not too sure what the exact issue is but I've already tried isopropyl alcohol and qtips. All of this is especially puzzling because out of my 4 mechs, this is the most expensive and the only one with genuine Cherry mx. Anything that could help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, after the third Logitech K800 has crapped the bed, it's time for a new keyboard! But I've used nothing BUT Logitech boards or years and now it's time or something different. I'm seriously considering a mechanical board but also looking at RGB ones as someone who hates RGB, why? So I can light it up as I can with my K800, white of course as I've looked into Corsair's software and it allows for complete white lighting. That said I am looking at boards like the K68 and K70....both available here in Canada for about $150-$200. Maybe even a K95 RGB Platinum, all that said though, interested in suggestions for something similar that'll last more than a year...I'm particularly hard on keyboards. Thanks to the hopefully incoming advice here.

I've been searching for the IDEAL clicky gaming switch. I love the feel of a clicky switch but I don't want to sacrifice in-game responsiveness. For those of you who have used the Kailh Speed Bronze, would you recommend it over other clicky switches (for both gaming and typing)?

My G610 has an annoying problem now. The F key is not working properly anymore. Sometimes it won't register at all and I have to press it multiple times. This is especially annoying in games that use the F key for interaction and writing english, since words like for and of both have the letter. Sometimes it also outputs two letters at one press. My warranty expired years ago, should I try and replace the switch or try something else?

So i'm planning on building my first keyboard and of course i watched linus' video on it and i want a pcb that I dont need to soder, What i really need help is what is the diffrence between a plate mounted switch and a pcb switch and would like to know which one I should get.

I recently purchased a K95, and I wanted a linear switch, and the only option was the silvers, but I just can't seen to get used to them, I don't like the shallower key travel. I'm thinking of switching the switches to mx reds. I'm aware that this would mean desoldering the switches and soldering on the new ones. I just have a few questions, I'm not sure how the LED's are handled, I know that the switches are classified as RGB but is there an RGB LED in the switch, or is it just a clear case with an LED on the PCB, and how would I work around this. Also anything else that I should know about. Thanks

Hello all, i'm looking for a way to make my cherry mx brown switches heavier, is the only way to do that are springs? Are there any other ways that i'm not aware? I just want some keys to be heavier not all.

I got a mechanical key tester from amazon, and I don’t know which key switches are what. A lot of them look the same! I know MX Brown, black, red, blue, and green, The rest I have no idea, can someone please tell me what key switches the two white ones, and the two gray ones are. The white one is clickyish, the one under it is more tactile, the first gray one is very linear and has a heavy actuation force, and the one under it feels like the 2nd white switch ( the tactile one )

Hi, I just saw this keyboard while browsing and the description says it's cherry MX blue switch mechanical keyboard. Is anyone using it here? How is the experience? Is it good for gaming?

Hi, im currently looking to buy a Corsair K95 RGB Platinum with the cherry MX speed switches. I am interested in using O-rings with it and was wondering if it makes any difference which O-rings i choose or if it's the same experience no matter the O-ring.

Hello guys & gals~ I am currently looking for a keyboard for my workplace. I would like to have the cheapest, no frills keyboard (No RGB; although backlit in white might be possible option, media keys etc.) If possible, it needs to look like your average office keyboard, not gamer-y that sort of stuff, BUT it has to have Cherry MX Blue, or similar feeling. Can you help me in recommending a suitable keyboard? Thanks

My friend recently gave me his old broken Razer Black Widow Chroma, so that maybe I could repair it, the only broken thing on it was the Space bar. Now I want to fix it but I need to replace the switch and since Razer doesn't sell their switches I want to know if I could use an Cherry Mx switch. Would that work? Thanks in Advance

Hi all! I know that Cherry MX switches are sorta premium quality switches. Other than being German is there a reason for that? I've heard that they're supposed to last longer than something like Razer switches, is that true? Cheers!

I currently use a black widdow chroma with grazer green switches, but i need a new keyboard. I dont want to buy from razer anymore so i thought about getting the k95 RBG Platinum However i have never had Cherry MX switces before and i realy like the feel of the razer greens. Cherry MX Brown or Speed? Wich one is closer to Razer green?

I went to a nearby computer store and tried the mx silent and to my suprise, it actually sound like rubber domes. has anyone tried putting o-rings on them ? lol

Hi, throwaway here, I was wondering which one of the two keyboards is worth more, so: -I’ll be using them mostly with white lighting (I’ll get the masterkeys with purely white leds if I will get that one); -I never owned a mech board before; -the difference between the two is of around 20 euros. i must admit that I enjoy Logitech’s design (plus I alteady own a Logitech mouse so it would be all in the same style) but the masterkeys is cheaper in the non-rgb variant and I’ve heard a lot of bad things about Logitech switches. Help me choose I guess?

I bought a RedRagon K552 Kumara and I instantly notcied that the D key is not clicky as the other, it sound silent and feels heavy. I contacted RedRagon and am still waiting for a response. What do you think guys? Is it a faulty key or just some dust that sneaked into it?.
