I have an Acer Aspire V3-771G - had it for years now and over the past few months I've encountered an issue that I really need to resolve Over the years I have kept the Laptop mostly plugged. My house had no room for a desktop so I would use it for hours and keep it plugged in. Something I know that isn't healthy for a Laptop. Now, I have a few issues with the battery and battery life. I purchased a new battery to try and resolve the issues but to no avail. I also bought a new charger as there was an issue with the cable that caused the laptop to charge and uncharge sporadically in periodical intervals. My problem is that my PC tells me that the battery cannot charge more than 67%, and if I unplug the charging cable, the laptop would lose power and shut off. I've changed the cable and battery so I'm assuming the problem is inside the Laptop, and I don't assume it has something to do with software. I desperately need some help to fix this issue please Any suggestions are welcome Thanks a lot

charging a lithium ion battery from laptop externaly
logan71f100 posted a topic in Hobby Electronics
so i made a Bluetooth speaker jam box and its sweet. i used a lithium ion battery from an old laptop to power the TDA7492P and its loud and awesome but now i need to charge it....i know i cant just use a normal charger to charge it but i dont know what lithium charger to get. i would like to have it inside the boom box with everything else. the battery im using is https://www.amazon.com/Techno-Earth®-Battery-Compaq-Earth/dp/B005ZRJAHC. what im looking for help with is getting the correct charging board to safely charge the battery...chargeing speed is of little importance as i would like to not turn it into a firery mess. the battery is not disassembled, it is as it was sold to me, i just slid connectors into the things on the batterys outputs. the wires sticking out the top are to the battery(i dont know if it can be charged that way as there is a temperature sensor and what not). help would be much appreciated! -
I am going on a school trip to Quebec soon, and I am in need of a new battery bank to charge my Galaxy S6. I already have one, albeit it charges rather slowly, and for my trip I need one that will be able to keep my phone charged whenever I need it to be. I am looking for one that has 3-5 charges on a single charge, and that can charge my phone as fast as a fast charge wall charger would. I am currently looking at this one: https://www.amazon.com/Portable-Charger-16000mAh-Qualcomm-Samsung/dp/B018I5H9BQ/ref=pd_rhf_gw_p_img_10?ie=UTF8&refRID=DK5NXFVXQNMCTB19TP4N I'd like to know if there are any other good ones that meet my needs mentioned above, all help is appreciated, thank you in advance.

Hi everyone, So about a week ago *enter dance moves here* I bought a new Galaxy S6 and all was fine and well. The issue is that since a few days the charging has been less than optimal. So you might know that with the newer more recent Galaxy devices, when you charge your phone it drops down a little notification saying what kind of charging is being performed. I knew of two of these variants these being: Fast charging: Approx. 2~3 hours until full charge. Cable charging: Approx 3~3.5 hours until full charge. (these times are just examples) And now the new beast: Slow charging: Approx 5~8 hours until full charge. (All while using the original fast charger) So as any sane person would do I replaced the cable. but to no result. I even enabled and disabled the low battery dump in the *#9900# menu, again no result. So I wonder if any of you might know a solution to this charging problem. All help is greatly appreciated! Regards, Snieky

So I got a new laptop. What I have done is remove the battery. I keep it plugged in without the battery. I power it on then turn it off after using it. Is it ok to use my laptop like this?

Today my Galaxy S6 stopped being able to charge from the wall adapter and cable. I tried using a mix of 4 different USB cables and 4 different wall adapters, neither seemed to charge the device. The device now only charges through the USB ports on my computer with any of the fore-mentioned usb cables. I cleaned out the USB port of the device to receive no results as well. Also, when my device is plugged into my PC to charge (I am running Windows 10 and used USB 3.0 port(s)), it comes up with an error message every other time randomly, either stating that: "The last USB device you connected to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognise it.", or simply bringing up the device on windows explorer as "Name's Galaxy S6" with no files inside (even though clearly it has files/folders etc. Any help re-guarding this will be greatly appreciated. Update: The phone also charges EXTREMELY slowly on the PC's connection.

Hey all, just a quick question. I'm getting the Moto X Pure, and it comes with a 25w charger in the box. Now, I always want to have a secondary charger, so I went looking to get an extra one. Apparently, Motorola only has the 15w charger for sale, and the 25w is not sold anywhere. The question is, will it be ok to get the 15w one as my secondary, or should i wait for the 25w to be released? Will the charger(15w) or phone get damaged if I use them together? Thanks in advance!

Ive heard both sides, but should i unplug the wireless charging pad while its not in use. Or is it okay to keep the pad connected to the wall while my phone is not charging.

So a little back I came up with a theory. The idea is that Apple's new iPhone case is so weird and ergonomic and generally stupid that it couldn't possibly be designed without some strange special conditions. Remembering the Macbook 2015's tiered battery system, I thought, "What if they took extra batteries from that and put them into the case?" I slowly came to obsess over this. So, tonight, I decided to run the numbers. Taking photos of the iPhone 6s case, the Macbook 2015, and using a ruler on my screen to measure the approximate sizes of components within each, I came up with the following crude diagrams: Aaaaaaaand it's not perfect. It's close, close enough I could chalk it up to shitty measurement and bad arithmetic. But I prefer to, instead of justifiying the old theory, push it a step further. I say that some Apple engineer fucked up the dimensions on an order of batteries for the Macbook, and because Apple had to do *something* with them, they made a weird and shitty iPhone case. Honestly, this still doesn't really justify the case. They should have just trashed the batteries.

I own a dell vostro 3700 and my battery has stopped charging about a week ago. The battery icon shows a message saying 'Plugged in, not charging'. On the same day I noticed this I updated my bios to the latest version, along with some drivers. I'm not sure if the problem occurred before or after doing this. I have tried uninstalling the battery drivers in device manager, this did not solve it. I also tried using a different power adapter but without any luck. After reading some websites I concluded that my battery is likely dead. I ordered a new battery but this did not solve my issues. I hope someone can help me with this.

I have a iPhone 5, and I've been charging it ever since I got home today. It was completely out of battery when I started, and 4 hours later, it's only at 88 percent. Is there something wrong with the phone?

Hello. I am interested in bluetooth headphones that you can charge using a docking station. I do not want to use any cables. Are there such solutions though? My use case would be: go to work, use the headphones throughout, get back home, dock them, repeat the next morning I have searched for a while but it does not seem to be a very popular solution (?) Price is not an issue. Thanks.

Hello, Im looking for a USB charging station that is reliable and affordable. I've been looking on Amazon and really like the 60w 6 port solutions (more than 4 ports are preferred and faster than 1.0 amps). I actually purchased an iClever 60w usb charging station but want to return it already seeing that there is a "burning" smell while its plugged in and that really worries me. I've also looked on YouTube and most of the charging stations aren't really long term reviews more so unboxings and I'm looking for a reliable source. So my question the the LTT community is do you guys have any recommendations for USB charging stations and how long have you been using yours? Thank you in advance

source: Elon wasn't kidding when he said he'd have a charger like a solid snake about 8 months ago. Now we wait on the official version.

Currently I'm using a USB 2.0 cable that came with my Galaxy S3 to charge my S5 and I'm charging via USB 3.0 port on my PC. I started wondering can my S5 draw up to the USB 3.0 power spec of 900mAh even with a USB 2.0 cable if it asks to, but then wall chargers can go up to 1-2A so it should be able to. Am I over thinking this since USB devices will draw as much as it needs and as much as the output can give right?

Original Article from WinBeta.org; Enter Microsoft: Apparently Microsoft Research (out of China) has invented a way to charge your phone anywhere in a room without cables or charging pads. Instead they have a device that detects your device using a (built in, I assume) kinect, locks on, and sends a beam of focused infrared light onto your device. But how does the device get charged? To me, It seems like the largest hurdle to overcome is getting device manufacturers to start incorporating photo-voltaic cells into their devices. The final thing you may ask yourself is how does the device tell the charger that the battery is done charging or other possibly relevant information such as if the laser is actually cooking the phone and needs to be turned off? Microsoft Researches idea is to use a blinking LED to relay the info, although, I could see Bluetooth or WiFi as being being equally effective. This whole idea may in itself sound crazy, but then I read this: And if that doesn't get you excited for this new technology, I don't know what will, although after I calmed down I started to be a little skeptical as I find it hard to believe it could ever be as efficient as wall chargers. But hey we can still hope. Thoughts: I think that this concept is a fantastic Idea but I would like to see more testing go into this technology to ensure its effectiveness and safety. I don't think this will be widely adopted into homes anytime soon, where I can see this tech shine is in the business sector where people bring their phones (which may have business information on them thus being used a lot throughout the day leading to a low battery) to meetings. You could install this into a meeting room and be able to keep all your employees devices charged while saving wall outlet space for laptops and old tech that doesn't use this method of charging. To resolve the conflict of multiple devices in a room I am sure Microsoft could implement a model or prototype with multiple lasers. Perhaps the biggest hindrance to this is the fact that in order for this to become widespread, you have to have an install base of companies incorporating photo-voltaic cells into their devices, and consumers/businesses purchasing those devices. If Microsoft can accomplish that, this technology may be widespread very soon. Source: http://www.winbeta.org/news/future-becomes-little-cooler-microsoft-research-wants-charge-your-phone-lasers

So I am looking for a wireless charging module to integrade into my Oneplus One that can receive 1A. Currently I have a 0.5A module soldered in there, but charging a 3.1Ah battery takes days, almost literally. I have found this one, but the site seems kinda sketchy and also it is only rated compatible with the "Motorola MOTO E". Does anybody have experiences with those kind of modules and where to buy them from?? Also shipping from Europe would be preferred. Thanks for your input
