The case I am looking into buying for budget reasons, the Montech AIR 100 argb, has its fans connected in a daisy chain. I have heard a lot of hate towards daisy-chained fans online, and I was wondering, why do people dislike it so much, and is there any potential risk for me?

Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Adobe Creative Cloud, Virtual Reality. Other details: (this build contains some parts from my old rig) Current System My current system was my first full build and not just switching parts out of an existing rig. However, I am very tempted to get more fans for the top exhaust and the bottom intake (and maybe replace the stock fans), but I am not sure if it is worth the money or not. The case fans I've been eyeballing on, are the Pure Wings/Shadow Wings from be quiet!. Should I get more case fans and if so, would the ones I picked be alright? 2x 140mm in the front and 1x 120mm from the case.

Hello, I've had my pc for about a year and a half and on my 4th day of having it the case fans rgb just stopped working for some reason and i can't figure the reason. so i require your precious pc "nerdiness" a couple months ago i plugged in a usb stick and the rgb worked for a couple minutes but then it just stopped working after that. here's a pic of my hub: the top right cable goes here (its the cable right under m.2 this cable is not connected to anything (the one right in the middle): it goes here yes i know my pc is so dirty but i will clean it soon. (thanks) specs: asus 3060 oc i5-10400f 16gb icue corsair vengeance ram prime b560-plus

can anyone explain to me how a-rgb fans work (how to connect them, daisy chain etc) because its super confusing to me. i have the msi gungnir 110r case, which has 4 preinstalled a-rgb fans.

So I want to replace the front fans that come with the TD500, mainly because of their noise. I think they do good with cooling and the aesthetics, but my PC is very close to my bed and I want to be able to sleep while it's on. They aren't that loud, its just that the type of noise they make is really annoying. It's some sort of low end noise that comes and goes constantly. I want to replace them with fans that have RGB, are black and most importantly low noise. What are some good fans to consider?

Had my PC for about a year now using the NZXT H510 Case, just recently replaced the stock AMD CPU cooler for the "Noctua NH-U12S". But now the area near the exhaust fans get very warm. I have the single Noctua Cooler fan (that came with the new cooler) pulling from the front of the case into the CPU block, and after a while of putting it under heavy loads playing games the heat from the exhaust fans spreads around the case and gets very hot to the touch. I'm thinking of getting two more 120mm case fans to replace the original exhaust fans, and moving the original fans to the front as intake. Would this be effective? and what fans would you recommend.

Hello everybody, I hope someone can spread some light on this for me, or atleast join me in feeling really confused comming into this little senario. Here goes. Building up and old PC for bedroom media center(Edit: Asus P7H55-M PRO with a Xeon X3470), found a nice case that demands some fans, but Mobo only has 2 headers, Cpu_fan and Sys_fan, both 4-pins. (has a 3-pin power header aswell, but let's forget that one) Letting the Cpu-cooler run on the Cpu header, I set out to find a fanhub to control the casefans (5 in total, all 4-pins) as I didn't wanna try my luck running all 5 fans on 1 header. I ordered a Thermaltake Commander FP 10 port PWM fanhub (nice of them to highlite no less than 2 times on the back that it's "Compatible with 3-pin fans" as well, when they further down on the box write in almost invisible small letters " *Speed control function is unavailable for 3-pin fans." GREAT compatibility!!! So, just running them 100%... -.-' ... but that's not what we're here for. I get the hub, set it up, connect all my fans, plug in SATA power, and connect the PWM signal cable to my Mobo' Sys_fan header... Everything starts up in 100% as expected untill speedfan loads, but only 1 fan(the nr.1 one that is also read to show RPM) is controlled by speedfan, the rest is at 100% blast. Speedfan showing 900RPM, and the nr.1 fan is correctly running around 900 RPM, but the rest is running wild. ?!? I Googled, and I found a post about the Sys_fan header maybe not being a PWM header, even tho it has 4 pins, but if that was true, why would it then control one fan at all. Everything worked perfectly before i got the hub when I had 3x 4-pin fans in a 3way splitter running on that header.. More Googling found a post about plugging the hub directly into the cpu header, and letting the bios handle it(really wanna have my cpu cooler running isolated, so this is not something I want to do unless I have to) Did that... speedfan won't do s*** to the cpu fancontrol, but the bios handles everything like a boss. Guess I'm running my systemfans on my cpu header, and my cpu cooler on my system header for now. Is this as it is supposed to be??

I used cooler master 360 mm liquid cooler and the RGB hub I got with it is not compatible with the Antec case fans. The plug is thicker and the socket is small. Is there a way I could fix it. This is my pc configuration 1. Intel i9 10900k 2. ASUS Prime Z490-A 3. (Corsiar Vengeance DDR4 3600MHz) x 4 4. ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 3080 10GB 5. Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 6. Seagate Barracuda 2 TB 7200 rpm 7. CORSAIR AX-1000 WATTS SMPS Fully modular 8. Cooler master 360MM Liquid Cooler 9. LIAN LI PC-O11 Dynamic Rayzor Edition Mid-Tower ATX 10. Antec Prizm 120 ARGB Fans (6) Also I would like to know is it fine to use the pc with out case fans (Just for few days) with the case open and with air conditioning.

My case fans start to move a little bit but end up not spinning. The RGB works perfectly fine and sometimes if I spin the fan with my finger it starts but I don't think that is supposed to be the right way to do it. I have not been able to access BIOS because I do not have a GPU yet. I found out I was having fan issues because I turned on my pc to see if my fans worked. The CPU fan seemed to be working fine. Is this a common problem and are there any solutions? My case is the phanteks p400a digital and I am using the stock fans that came with it (Phanteks sk120mm)

So, I've been researching for some info about which fan I have to have as a intake fan by Noctua. I wanna make a theme around for the fans and will use Chromax series. This starts because my fan radiator is big (it's a MSI MAG Core Liquid 360R) and can't fit a regular 140-140-25mm or 120-120-25mm fans. I have to use a 120-120-15mm fan and it's a Noctua NF-A12x15 PWM Chromax, and because of that I want a theme around it. I will as well buy a Noctua NF-S12A PWM chromax as a exhale fan because the reviews is good for this fan as a exhale fan. But which fan by Noctua (Chromax series) is good for intake? Is it: Noctua NF-A14 PWM chromax, Noctua NF-F12 PWM chromax or Noctua NF-A9 PWM Chromax? Which one is the best intake for my case (not the radiator)? I know that Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM is the best fan, but that fan will break the color theme and that will be ugly. So please help me if you can!

So i have the p400a digital case and the b460m mobo. the mobo doesnt come with rgb headers and the case has a supposed rgb controller. can the case fans use rgb without being connected to a rgb header?

I need help deciding where to place my fans in my nzxt h510 for optimal positive pressure. Should I have Two front 140 mm fans and use my top fan as an intake with an exhaust in the back. Or should I use only one front fan with the top as an intake and the back as an exhaust?

I just finished my first build but have a fan issue. 1 of my 3 rgb front fans (deepcool rf120s) doesn’t spin, BUT lights up with the the rest. I unplugged it many times. What do I do? It shows up at Bios at 0 RPM and used to start but stop, but now it is fully stopped. I don’t know what to do. I’ve been fumbling around with the cables unplugging them from the mono but nothing is working.

Hello! I am looking for some help on figuring out my case fan quality. I am working with Cooler Master SickleFlow Fans. Link: https://www.newegg.com/cooler-master-mfx-b2dn-18npa-r1-case-fan/p/N82E16835103300?Item=N82E16835103300 Im having an issue where the ones that i have mounted horizontally at the top of my case for air exhaust are vibrating and seem to want to fall right off the center housing. The ones that i have mounted Vertically run perfect at any RPM range but the horizontal ones start to vibrate at around 85-100% power. Is there a way to solve this or am i stuck getting higher quality fans for the horizontal mounting? Appreciate any help!

Specs: Ryzen 5 3600 (Hyper 212) rtx 2070 super G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB MSI B450M PRO-VDH MAX Micro ATX AM4 EVGA 750 watts BQ semi modular Corsair 110r (case) 2 Touchaqua Notos intake fans 120mm 2 exhaust fans (1 120 mm fan(unnamed came with case) & 1 140mm kingwin fan) Right now in my build I am using two splitters, (https://www.amazon.com/Splitter-Molex-headers-CONNECT-MULTIPLE/dp/B009D3HV1Q) for my two intakes that is connected through molex for power and then connected to the fan header. The other splitter I do not know the name of but is basically the same as the other but only has two connecters that are for 3 pin fans. Now I bought the 5 pack of the Notos 120 DRGB (https://www.amazon.com/Bitspower-Computer-Cooling-Airflow-Desktop/dp/B0843JNCXN/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=Notos+120+DRGB&qid=1589558488&s=electronics&sr=1-1&th=1) but only have two installed, I tried installing three of the Notos fans to the intake splitter but for some reason the last one did not spin even though it was connected to molex for the power and only to the mobo for fan control, before the Notos fans I had three kingwin fans (https://www.amazon.com/Kingwin-CF-012LB-Efficient-Excellent-Ventilation/dp/B002YFP8BK) connected to the splitter and all three spun. I want to install all five this time and remove the kingwin fans and old splitters, but I have to use the included pwm hub as my mobo only has two fan headers, which is my question. If I use the included hub (https://www.amazon.com/Bitspower-Touchaqua-PWM-Fan-Multi-Function/dp/B085BWVBZS/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=fan+hub+bitspower&qid=1589558628&s=electronics&sr=1-2) and connect it to my fan header for fan control and then to SATA for power do I risk destroying my mobo and/or psu. Should I install four to the hub and one to other fan header to draw less power, I am mainly just trying to make my computer sound quieter. Also could I do the same for RGB hub (https://www.amazon.com/Bitspower-Touchaqua-Digital-Function-Controller/dp/B07N8JT3GQ) with SATA for power and the header for control or would this also cause a problem. Any help is appreciated.

airflow Fractal Design Meshify C ATX Mid Tower Fan Arrangement
Special_Squid246 posted a topic in Cooling
Hey LTT forum, I a first time builder and I am going to build an ATX size build soon. The Fractal Design Meshify C ATX Mid Tower case seemed like a good choice because of the improved airflow and sleek design. This case comes with 2 120 mm stock fans but obviously I'll need a bit more cooling than that if i'm using a Ryzen 2600 with an RTX 2060. I want to incorporate the stock fans but I also want to use 140 mm fans and I am not sure how to get even cooling. Please let me know which fans you would use and how you would arrange them. -
Looking to add some extra fans to my upcoming build, but it'll be my first build. I'm not sure how to plug in all the different fans (adding two 120s to top of case, repalcing rear 120). I will have an AIO, which I'm also not sure about what to do with those fans. Just kinda confused about case fans in general. I've tried googling some case fan videos and stuff but not much is helping me get it. What I know: - There are mobo "headers" (not sure if that's the right word) for different kinds of fans, but no idea what these mean and what gets plugged into where - I understand fan sizes, and I see there are 'fan controllers' but do i Need one? - How do you use something like cpu/gpu temperature, or other temperature to determine fan speed any help, advice, or direction to good links is greatly appreciated

Morning, I've just some new fans and a PWM controller from amazon, my fans were old that's all and wanted some new ones. The fans and PWM controller: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07JD22QF5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07GJGF56L/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Now do run the 4 pin in to the 3 pin of the fans and daisy chain them? If so is it easier to run straight to the MOBO with one 4 pin rather than the controller or should I run each fan to the controller individually? Gurky

Hi, I'm planning on running 3 LL120 fans and 5 LL140 fans in my Corsair 680X. However the Lighting Node Pro that comes with the system only allows for 6 RGB fans. Should I just get another fan hub to control the extra 2 fans? Or can I wire these in to my motherboard? I want to be able to use Corsair's Icue software and have all the fans in sync. Thanks!

I just bought a CM Hyper 212 RGB black edt to replace my intel stock cooler and I was wondering. My case (phanteks p400) has two fans (one in the front, one in the back) and that means one of them is going to be right behind my CPU cooler fan. I feel like that's a waste and that it would better to put it in the front instead to get more air in. Is there any reason not to?

Hi everyone, I'm currently building my PC inside a Phanteks Eclipse p400a digital case. I have a front mounted deepcool gammaxx v2 l360, with the fans installed for intake. I installed 1 120 mm rearexhaust fan. I was wondering whether to set the 2 120mm top mounted fans to intake or to exhaust. Im primarily focused on VRM heat dissipation. I have not done any testing since I'm still awaiting the arrival of my gpu. If any one has done some testing on this subject feel free to share it.

I am about to build a pc and I have chosen the Corsair VS650. Can I plug in ARGB Case fans to this PSU?

I recently purchased a Omega Nova2 Fan Hub and 2 Omega Nova 120 RGB fans, but i need 4, im still looking for 2 more rgb fans, but all i can find are other brands. My question is, can i still use other branded rgb fans on my hub and will it all still work properly?

So first of all hello. I just bought the Chieftec Tornado 3x case fans yesterday and installed them they worked for a minute and i could use the Control to change speed and Rgb effects. Then after a short while it wouldn't accept any commands (control and buttons on the hub itself) so i was stuck at the speed and light i choose before. Now on the next morning not even the blue Light that was on the evening before works and they only spin. I connected the fans to the hub on fan1/2 And the hub via Sata power. Not other connection points are used. They are also spinning very fast for a second when i turn my computer on.
