  1. About a year ago from today i built my own pc with specs that are listed below. Well ive never had any issues with the build up until a week or two ago when the RGB fans on the case stopped working. To be clear the fans still spin and function perfectly fine, just the RGB no longer turns on. I have never used any sort of RGB controlling software as i thought the default colors and stuff was fine. The case i bought also included a few buttons to change the RGB profile and make it switch what it was doing. Now upon turning on my computer my fans turn on just fine but the RGB doesnt. I have tried putting the RGB headers into different RGB header spots on the motherboard but that does nothing. I have noticed that they will flicker on and then off when i turn my pc, on so i think it might have something to do with windows rather than my hardware. I also noticed that windows 11 recently updated with the dynamic lighting thing which is also one of the main reasons i believe it has something to do with windows. I have tried messing around with the dynamic lighting settings to no avail so hopefully someone here is able to help. PC Specs: Case - Lian Li Lancool 205 Mesh C Fans - Default fans inside of the case (i was unable to find the exact name of them but they seem to not be specifically sold anywhere) CPU - Ryzen 5 5600x GPU - Zotac GeForce RTX 3060 12gb version Motherboard - MSI B550 Torpedo PSU - Corsair CX-M Series CX750M 750 Watts RAM - Vengeance LPX DDR4 2x16gb Storage 1 (Boot Drive) - Crucial P3 PCIe 3.0 NVMe 2280 M.2 1 TB SSD Storage 2 - (i lost the box so i am unsure which one this is) 2 tb M.2 SSD Wifi/Bluetooth Card - ASUS PCE-AX3000 WiFi 6 PCI-E Adaptor OS - Windows 11 Pro Version 23H2 64 bit
  2. I have no idea where these 3 cables (shown on photo on the bottom of the case) go into. They are coming from the case fans but i don’t see anywhere to put them. Please help.
  3. I finally built my first pc after months of planning, and everything works except my case fans. I have 4 of them, and they are connected to a fanhub which is connected to one of my system fan headers not the psu. 3 of the fans work, while one does not, I tried switching around the ports on my fan hub and it made no difference, so I'm assuming that one fan is dead. The other three fans are working, but they are not showing up in the bios, it just says system fan 1 and system fan 2 are disabled. Besides the one random fan that doesn't seem to work, the other three are actually working , so I don't really know why they are no showing up in the bios. On a somewhat related note, is there a way to change fan curves without the bios?
  4. I have recently purchased an NZXT H5 flow and I am looking to add some extra fans for extra air flow. Currently using the two fans provided with the case. These are fine but only seem to run at about 850 RPM (Noise isn't a massive issue as CPU fan will always be the loudest) Looking for some good value fans (Around 1200+ RPM) to add to the case, probably 120mm but i'm sure the case supports 140mm. Also I will now need to get either a fan splitter or hub as I am now out of motherboard fan headers, i'm not sure if a fan hub will be beneficial? Any recommendations would be appreciated.
  5. Hey there, amazing tech community! So my Lumen S36 AIO just went kaput ;( But… I'm thrilled to share that I've just ordered the Galahad II Trinity AIO w/ Lian Li SL 120 Infinity Unifans to level up my PC cooling game. Currently, I have the AL120 V2 fans as simple case fans – two for intake and one for exhaust. Now, my question is: Is it possible to hook up the SL 120 Infinity Unifans and AL 120 V2 fans to the same Lian Li fan controller or hub? I know another controller will come with my AIO but I’d like to use one Controller IF possible. I'm aiming to create an efficient and cohesive cooling system that's not only visually appealing but also practical. Your insights and expertise would be incredibly appreciated! Let's explore the possibilities together and ensure my setup runs as smoothly as possible while embracing our love for all things tech and e-girl vibes! Thank you, fantastic community, for your continuous support and invaluable guidance. I can't wait to hear your suggestions and experiences. Let's dive into this tech adventure together! Nyaa~!
  6. I bought a 205Mesh around a year ago and have been happy overall with my build. One of the front 140mm fans has packed in and while Lian Li's warranty has been excellent and are arranging to send me a replacement it does beg the question about the overall quality of the case fans they use as it appears to be a regular issue. When I started looking at replacements I was unclear what a cheap 4pin power and 3 pin female rgb fan (2 140mm at the front and one 120mm at the rear would be as the usual UK stores don't seem to specify the details I would have expected. Am I missing something obvious or is there little standard currently for such a basic thing, potentially if so would just go for replacement non RGBs to ensure proper cooling
  7. Budget (including currency): €950 Country: Ireland Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming and watching videos ( games like 6 siege, csgo, cyberpunk, valorant Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I plan to play on 1080p at 90fps-150fps and maybe 1440p in the future. Here is my list for parts and i have 2 Y-spliters to plug all the fans so they can all be controlled because my motherboard only has 3 fan headers and 1 is used for CPU cooler( Comes with the CPU). And wifi is essential cant run a cable. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Xs34n6 I would like to know how many fans i need because right now im planning on getting 6 (5 arctic p12 pwn) and 1 included case fan. I want my PC to have good cooling and quiet if if slightly loud its fine.
  8. Hello! I’m not sure if this is the correct place to ask this so I’m extremely sorry if I’m in the wrong place. I recently shipped my computer that I built back from my boyfriend’s house. Prior to this the fans and LED worked fine and the ship there nothing happened but now I can’t seem to get them to work no matter how much I connect and retry. Any help? The mother board is ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING II and the case is Montech but not entirely sure the exacts since I can’t find the box. Playing things since I’ve gotten it back yesterday has made the case warm which usually doesn’t happen so I’m just worried because those fans seem important. Anything is appreciated! (Please don’t mind the dust and mess, it’s about 3? years old and the first one I’ve ever built and I’ve been in the process of cleaning it since it arrived back at my home yesterday lol.)
  9. Hey, I was searching for a fan that has an infinity mirror that pushes air towards it's visible side. (What's the point of having an infinity mirror if it's facing away?) Currently rocking the lian li O11 and would love to have infinity mirrors all around, without sucking all the dust in existence into my PC. I came across these on AliExpress: Picture is from the article in the link below My case would basically look like this: Picture from one of the reviews (no name to quote) My question is, does anyone have these and give me a review of their other properties like sound and actual cooling power? I could not find a single (video) review and even on the chinese COOLMOON site they are not present. Thanks in advance to anyone nice enough to stick around or comment something useful (or funny) ^^ Links to the product: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005303105435.html? (Primary link) https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005373893412.html? (Secondary link since items sometimes disappear for no reason on aliexpress)
  10. I'm new to pc building (and by new I mean I literally started a week ago), and I would like to know if it would be a good idea to connect 3 ll120 rgb fans to an asus prime a320m-k motherboard because my brother wants a pc upgrade, but he doesn't know anything about PC-s. I heard that this motherboard is borderline useless and only has one sys fan header, so i think that it would not work, but just in case I will ask. He bought pre-built PC that already has 3 120mm fans and 1 60mm fan,but for some unexplained reason he took off the stickers so I do not know how good those fans were, he just told me that he checked a while ago , and the ll120 turned out to be better. Hope I get an answer.
  11. I know PWM offer a bit more percise control than DC, but which would be more energy efficent and increase the Fan longevity? Edit: I am looking at the fan settings in the BIOS and I have both options
  12. The case only comes with 2 fans so I will need to pick up more. This case has mesh in the front and top. The mesh pannels are removable but they will help keep the dust out so I will likely leave them unless the top restricts the radiator airflow. Should I be looking more at fans with a high CFM, H2O pressure rating or a balance of both? On a side note should I try to find better fans for the DEEPCOOL LS720 AIO or will it's fans bee alright? So far fans I have seen that I like the cost or the specs of are: DEEPCOOL CF120 Plus 120mm HYTE Flow FA12 120mm LI UNI FAN SL V2
  13. I bought two Corsair NR120L fans for my first build and it was only after it arrived that I found out it has a 2-pin molex. I use a Asus B550-A motherboard which has 4-pin fan headers. Is there any way I can use these fans or do I need to get new 4-pins fans?
  14. So my computer is in a rough state right now and has problems with cooling. I want to put my case fans below my gpu(the gpu's fan is broken and doesn't spin at all) so it doesn't thermal throttle. In doing so, I had the idea of removing the side panel so the rest of the system gets "passive" cooling. So my question is, will my computer need front and back fans if the side panel is off or will it be relatively fine. (btw my cpu is fine and doesn't have any problems)
  15. Howdy there good peeps of LTT My mobo (MSI B450M-A PRO MAX) only have 2 fan headers, One of them is used by the CPU cooler and on the Second on I currently running a splitter cable through which I can connect all of fans but the issue is that I can't control there speed this way. In BOIS or through MSI software that shows up as only two fans connected. What I want is a solution through which I can plug all 5 fans in but still be able to control my fan speeds individually. The catch is the budget. I know that corsair makes an hub called Commander Pro XT but it's $50 and I am not sure if the mix match of fans that I have will work with that but it's out of question as I am not gonna spend $50 on that alone. What I want from you guys is advice in finding a hub that is a solid good reliable product but is cheap (As cheap as possible without compromising quality) and a good bundle of five 120mm fans that are quite and will work with the hub. OR I am not sure that product like this paired with any fan hub (I don't know which hub can be used with these) Will give me the option to individually tune each fan through software like "Fan Control" and if they do Please do let me know of a reasonably good brand that have a bundle like that. I don't want nor care about any RGB whatsoever so this will help lowering the price too. Would highly appreciate if you could recommend me products (preferably with links) that will work together and give me the ability to control each fan. Build info: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G RAM: Lexar 16GB 1600mhz Mobo: MSI B450M-A PRO MAX (m-ATX) GPU: GIGABYTE GTX 1660 Super (3 fan variant) PSU: Corsair CX750M CPU Cooler: Cooler masters HYPER H411R Have 1 samsung SDD and 3 WD HDD in future will add a nvme Case: Corsair Spec 01 Fans are a mix of brands but all are the same RPM voltage and amps
  16. Heyo! I'm pretty new to computers so please be gentle on me. My current setup is: CASE: Asus tuf GT301 MOBO: Asus tuf gaming b460m-plus (wifi) COOLER: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition 3 rgb case fans to a hub with an external sata power and a cable leading to chasfan1 header and another leading to the add_gen 2 header. What I want to do: I want to purchase 4 Cooler Master MASTERFAN SF120R RGB and my goal is to move the 3 rgb case fans that came with the case to be rear exhaust and top exhaust omitting the current non-rgb case fan that's currently only rear exaust. Then I want to use 3 of the new rgb fans as front intake and use the 4th as the pull on my cooler and to use the current cooler pull as a push on the other side of the tower and connect it to CPU_OPT. My question: How do I do all this. the fans have a link plug on them so i can link the 3 argb for the front to one header on my mobo and the cpu rgb one to another header for split control. Do those fans get power through the same cable or is there a seperate power cable i'd have to connect to my chassfan1 header and have rear and top exhaust to the chasfan2 header. That leaves me with another question would a hub with external power that only using the signal from those headers be ideal or can i just get extenders and link all the fans together to the chassis fan headers.
  17. Hi there boyos, I was wondering if maybe I should slightly change my fan placements in my Fractal Design Define XL R2 Black Pearl case for possibly better airflow. My stock fans that came with the case has finally started to wear down, they sometimes start making a lot of grinding noises (to which the only solution is to lightly slap 'em until it goes away, amount of slaps vary...). Sometimes they also make weird wobbly noises to which there is no solution. So I have now bought three Noctua NF-A14 140mm fans and was wondering where I should put them. At the very moment, I have a pull configuration water cooler at the top of the case for the CPU with 2x140mm fans. Then three 140mm stock fans, one at the bottom, one at the front, and one exhaust at the back. SHOULD I move the bottom one so that I have two in the front? Does anyone think this would matter? I have several storage units at the front of the case so maybe it would be a good idea to make sure there are two fans instead of one blowing at them?
  18. After watching several LTT videos, such as the Lower your heating bill... with GAMING (heating a room with your PC), I am curious to know if there was a way I could direct the heat my computer outputs to the bottom of my Geko's terrarium. I have a leopard geko who has a current heat mat that produces around 95~100 Fahrenheit it is stuck right underneath the right side of his enclosure. My home gaming server and my girlfriends gaming PC both output around 95~98 Fahrenheit when measuring surface temps on or around the exhaust fans. I was wondering if maybe there would be a way to direct, with custom fan setup or computer cooling solution, the heat output of my computers towards or directly on the same area under the terrarium. Currently we are getting a setup where we will have two desks along a wall and will be placing a shelf/rack in the middle of our desks that would house the computers. There would be enough room on a shelf or the top shelf to place our terrarium. I would be interested in saving on electricity by heating the bottom of the terrarium using our computers (gaming/work server is on 24/7). Are there any suggestions or ideas? Thank you.
  19. So i’m currently getting ready to build and the parts have arrived today including my fans, they are unfortunately 3-pin which i hadn’t expected. I hear there is a way to control fan speeds in the bios by voltage or some way, i’m wondering if this is possible with my motherboard and where in the bios would i have to look? thanks

  21. Im planning on adding case fans. Because my case is from be quiet I prefer their case fans but I dont know wether the shadow wings 3, are the exra money worth or should I go with the pure wings 2? Is it a good idea to buy used fans? Does PWM or high speed fans make any noticable (cooling) performacne difference?
  22. Hello there. Long story short, I used to be able to control and set up custom curves for my case fans via various Windows apps. I used Gigabytes SIV as I have a Gigabyte motherboard. But now I can only adjust the speed of the fans or set up custom curves in the BIOS' Smart Fan. Won't bore you why but I once had to take the cmos battery out to reset, since then the above described issue has been going on. Also, SIV won't even launch even after reinstalling it multiple times using different methods. No error shown, it just simply won't open. Other Gigabyte apps work though, like RGB Fusion, works direct and through Gigabyte's App Center too. Apps like Speedfan can't even detect the fans. However, Corsair's ICUE software can see them and shows their RPM. Had 2 BIOS updates since the problem (no changes to this issue) and I just have no clue where to even look or why taking the CMOS battery out would affect something like this... System: -Win 10 Pro X64 -Corsair Crystal 570X Case -Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro Mobo updated to F12l bios. -4 Corsair SP120 RGB fans connected to Sys fan ports on the motherboard (RGB cables connected to case control) -2 Corsair fans that come with the H115I Pro AIO (I can control these through ICUE under the AIO settings without any issues) Anyone have any ideas what might be the problem? P.s. I know there's no need to keep messing with the fans, I just set up a curve I want in the BIOS and leave it be; hence why I dropped this issue for months. But if something doesn't work exactly as it should it does annoy me. What probably annoys me even more is that I can't fix it....
  23. Hey, new to the forum here - I've built one PC before in my life - in an NZXT S340 case, which comes with two of NZXT's FN V2 airflow fans, one at the top and one behind the GPU. Both are connected by molex as part of the case. The rear one has failed, and the top one is grinding, so it's time. So I know just enough to know Noctua fans are well-regarded, thus the Redux fans (one P14 1500RPM on top, one P12 1700RPM in the rear since the top and rear support different sizes, and the RPM difference purely because those are the top speeds for each). So question 1: should I not be buying the fastest fans they offer, since they're all at the same price? Is there a good reason to buy a 1200 RPM P14 for a case fan instead of a 1500 RPM? Is it just louder? Question 2 (main question): These fans have optional silicone "anti-vibration pads" that are an extra $7 for 14 ct? So me, DIY person, says "well I can get silicone gaskets for stuff, I went through that with finding food/heat-safe stuff for homebrewing fittings" but the threads I read online point to the SCREW being the culprit, hence the silicone "screws" that Noctua and other companies sell. So...do I need one, both, or neither of those if I use a plain silicone o-rings/washers, which I know how to find? I'm never going to see these things.
  24. Hello people. i wanted to make sure i was reading the spec sheet of my motherboard correctly. https://us.msi.com/Motherboard/B450M-GAMING-PLUS/Specification Here's the spec sheet for my motherboard, is it correct that it has one cpu 4pin fan header and 2 4pin system fan headers. Which means i can only have 2 case fans actively spinning? because with my current case NZXT H500 i realaize that if that's the case then i should probably change the location of the fans since i would have one on the top rear of the case sucking in air and one on the rear next to the motherboard ports blowing air out (which seems quite stupid to have air sucked in at the top back end of the case only for it to be blown out right after) as showin in the picture in the spoiler.
  25. I want to build myself a highend pc but I’m not sure about the right case fans PC Case: Lian Li O11 dynamic Evo I thought about the Noctua NF-S12A PWM chromax because they are marketing by Noctua as regular PC case fans but I’m not sure because most pc cases have hybrid fans for air flow and static pressure And and the Noctua NF-S12A PWM chromax have high air flow low pressure should I get different Fans instead? Fans Orientation: bottom 3x Fans pulling air in side 3x Fans pulling air in top 3x Fans AIO pushing air out
