For the build linked below, I plan to have the 2 140mm fans that come with the case as front intakes and the separate Noctua one as rear exhaust. All 3 fans have about the same airflow and rpm. Will that be a problem, or does the single exhaust need to be more powerful than the 2 intakes? Does the fan on the D15S cooler count as an exhaust? (It will be right in line with the rear exhaust at the top of the back panel.) EDIT: I will never be overclocking.

In the build linked below, should I use the case's built-in fan controller or three motherboard case fan headers for my three 3-pin case fans (2 front intake, 1 rear exhaust)? Bonus points for recommending specific headers on the ASUS X99 A II.

For my build plan at http://pcpartpicker.com/list/kcntpb I'm thinking of getting Noctua NF-P14s redux-1500 PWM 78.7 CFM 140mm case fans. Is a 1500 max RPM overkill, or will this fan be efficient at lower speeds? Also, what is the fineness of automatic control due to PWM? And with PWM, do I need the case's fan controller?

I need recomendations for 140mm case fans(required), and they need to be really cheesy LEDS, like super blinding bright that lights up the room, and preferably a lot of blades for good airflow, noise isnt a problem, any thoughts?

I switched out the motherboard in my system not too long ago to an ASRock Z97 Extreme4, and it's worked perfectly so far. My case already has pretty ample airflow, so I set my CPU fan as well as all three chassis fans to "Silent Mode". However, Chassis_Fan1 is running at a much higher RPM than any of the others, and is noticeably louder. When the system is idle, the CPU fan runs at about 750 RPM, and the other two chassis fans at 500. However, Chassis fan 1 reports running at around 1300 RPM, (which from the look/sound of it I think is accurate), and then the reading will randomly spike up to 2000-3000 and sometimes 19,000, which are not accurate because the actual fan doesn't appear to be changing speed, certainly not to 19000 RPM. These speeds are reported this way both in HWMonitor and in BIOS. All of the chassis fans are on the same mode, and they are all the same model of fan (Corsair ones that came with the case). What could be going on here? Does it have something to do with the fact that the Chassis_Fan1 header is 4 pins instead of 3 like the others?

Hello there! I saw a video about 2vs4 case fans and it makes a little difference, Should i spare money to upgrade something else in my pc, or just do 4 case fans for the beter airflow.

Hello there! I was wondering if someone could help me with finding a good case fan, It has to be black for my build design and removeable stickers. A silent case fan would be nice (unhearable is probably undoable xd) And it has to have a good airflow. I use as case the nzxt s340, it already has 2 fans but i want 4 fans in it for the best airflow. And i dont want it to be too expensive, i live in the netherlands and my max is 15 euro for 1 fan. aka 30 euro for 2 fans Thanks for reading and i hope ya'all will help me Btw, This is my build for if thats needed https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Wolfiowww/saved/vw8RsY (I alrleady choose 2 extra fans but i dont think those are good enough sooo thats why i asked the pros, you guys)

Hey guys, I have been looking for a good new case fan for ages now, and now decided to ask the community for help. I'm thinking of a 120mm fan, that would fit into my Corsair Spec Alpha. Should be very quiet (max. 20 dB) Optional: red LED Thanks in advance

Hello whenever i play games like GTA V, BF4, BO3 my rear case fan gets loud and start spinning faster, it gets annoying sounding like a small light leafblower.. My other fans don't get noisy at all except for my front case fan but it is covered in the front of the case so i can't hear it at all. As i am typing this, my case fans are spinning much faster than my graphic card and h100i fans. How do I prevent the rear fan from getting really loud when playing ? My specs : h100i corsair asus maximus vi hero gtx 970 4gb

I'm planning to build a PC around Black Friday and I'm looking for suggestions for case fans. Looking to keep the budget below $2100 USD. Since I'm purchasing the PC during Black Friday sales, I can go up to $2200 USD as a budget currently (and hopefully I can save some money due to Black Friday and less demand for 1080's ). Here is the current build. The build includes an i7-6700K, an EVGA GTX 1080 FTW, and an NZXT Phantom. Due to the fact that I'm not well-versed in the realm of case fans (which ones to use and where to put them), I decided that it would be beneficial to post a thread on the build. Thanks! P.S. General suggestions are also welcome. Trying to stay with a red/black color scheme, but it doesn't really matter.

Hey guys, I'm looking for some good value pressure optimized Intake Fans for my case. So far I've been going with rather expensive ones (Noise Blocker eLoop b12-4) which turned out to have deficient build quality. Remembering that very low budget Fans (Xilence Redwing) in my previous rig, did an awesome job throughout the computers entire life span I'm looking for a more buget oriented solution again. Which good value 140mm Case fan providing an airflow of at least 160m³/h, better would be 200+ m³/h can you recommend? P.S.: I don't care much about the operating noise, anything below this noise level qualifies as silent in my book.

Currently I have 3 120mm fans as intake in front and i have a kraken x61 that has 2 140mm in the radiator as exhaust well as a 140mm as exhaust. The case I have is a NZXT H440. Is 3 120mm as intake and 3 140mm as exhaust ok?I have the PSU fan facing down and is intaking air from the outside. The intake fans are: 3 stock NZXT H440 fans. The exhaust fans are: Top Mounted kraken X61 liquid with 2 phanteks 140mm PH-F140MP_BK_PWM.The Rear Exhaust fan is another Phanteks 140mm PH-F140XP_BK.Sorry still new to building so it's all still pretty confusing. What should i do to make this a positive airflow as well?

Hi, I want to control and monitor my fan speed of two 4 pin molex fan case. How should I connect them to the motherboard. Do I buy a 4-pin molex to 3-pin fan adapter? (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA9F943Y0335&cm_re=molex_to_3_pin_fan_adapter-_-9SIA9F943Y0335-_-Product). I currently have the fans connected directly to my PSU. Thanks, FlavourZ

Which is the better fan? I'm looking for the quietest I can get without sacrificing too much performance. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KFCR5BA/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1PK0LHR4HVDW&coliid=IXLOZHS250JHB http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00E20SSWQ/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1PK0LHR4HVDW&coliid=I3BPHWH7XKG8FX&psc=1

I'm using a Silverstone fan 120mm fan at the bottom of my case. The fan itself is dead quiet, but the air it sucks moving through the mesh and fan filter is very loud. What can I do about this?

Hey, I'm looking for some case fans for my case and had a few questions. Case: Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ATX Version This case supports either 3x120mms or 2x140mms both at the front and top of the case and a 120 or 140 as a rear exhaust. There are no drive cages or any obstructions. I'm using the be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3 for my CPU cooling. No overclocking. My main priority is silence and adequate cooling. I've read 140's can be quieter since they run at lower RPM so I got that as a rear exhaust. But should I go with dual 140s at the front and top or tri 120s? And why? I'm looking for black style fans (no Noctuas) to match my build. I did some research and found the be quiet! Silent Wings 2 are some of the quietest. So my question is are these fans worth the price? Are there any possibly cheaper better silent solutions? Also, There seem to be 2 versions, the PWM version and non PWM version. Which is better? It shows the non PWM version to be about a dBa quieter and $2 less which had me confused. PWM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA68V21E0612&cm_re=silent_wings_2_140mm-_-9SIA68V21E0612-_-Product Non-PWM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA68V21E0606&cm_re=silent_wings_2_140mm-_-9SIA68V21E0606-_-Product Thanks!

I just bought a Phanteks Enthoo Pro M. It comes with a single rear 140mm fan. I'm planning to add a single 140mm in the front. I don't know what type of case fan should I get. Any suggestions? I have a budget of about $20.

Question1: Is there a difference between a regular case fan and a radiator fan? Question2: What is the best fan in terms of noise levels at higher and lower rpm? Question3: What fan do you use in your system now? These questions above are just some general questions for the forums. I hear good things being said about Noctua fans, but i'm not a fan of their noise level or ugly colors. Does anyone else have some suggestions. I'm using the stock fans that came with my Evolv enthoo case and the stock fans for my corsair H110i GTX. It sounds like the corsair fans make the most noise inside the case and I would like to get fans that are quieter if anyone has some suggestions, thanks.

Can you guys recommend me any nice looking and good performance 140mm case fan. I would like to get atleast 1 more case fan for my case right now i only got my stock Fractal Design GP-14s. I think my fan setup would be the 2 stock GP-14s at the front and a aftermarket case fan for the rear exhaust. I don't know how right i am buy i think i should get an airflow fan. I will be using the Cryorig R1 Ultimate cooler and as mentioned in the title the Fractal Design Define S case. Also it would be nice if they're not too loud because the pc is going to be on my desk on head height. I don't live in a place where i can get the linustechtips edition noctua nf-a14s so id like to get some recommendations for good looking 140mm fans. Thx for advice in advance. Nothing in my system ever exceeds 70 degrees celsius, and the primary reason for adding these case fans was because their blue LEDs look great. However, I was curious as to how I could set up a fan curve so that all the case fans would be off when idle and at full power when something went above 75 celsius. Also, I already tried SpeedFan, but that displays all 5 fans (3x case, 1xCPU cooler, 1xGPU cooler) and doesn't tell me which is which. I'm afraid I'll fry the CPU if I reduce the speed of the wrong one. Then again, that noise from the fans could turn out to be noise from the hard drive. Regards, Aereldor.

Hi good peeps of LTT forum. I've bought 3 new fans for my case. Noctua NF-A14 IndustrialPPC-2000 PWM. Now, two of the three fans are working as intended. However third one is causing problems. Neither BIOS nor AI Suite 3 detects it and only sign of life it gives is (like mentioned in the title) short start/stop motion. It keeps doing that, while emitting a subtle clicking noise (not sure if that's a PWM fan thing). I've tried different fan headers but same problem occurs. I also tried switching from PWM to DC fan control (and back) in BIOS, but that did nothing either. Other new fans work fine with all available fan headers, so that excludes a bad header. Also my old DC fan worked and works (after replacing it back) fine too. Did I just get unlucky and got a faulty Noctua fan? I'm ready to RMA, just wanted a second opinion. Thanks for any replies.

Hi everyone, I'm looking to use Speedfan to configure my fan speeds so that my PC is near silent. Previous I had two case fans on the front, 1 on the back and a CPU fan. All 4 of these were 4-pin and connected to the motherboard so they were very easy to configure in Speedfan. Now that I've installed CPU watercooling and I have 5 case fans instead of 3, it's a little more complicated. As I don't have enough slots on my motherboard, I've had to purchase some hardware such as a NZXT Grid 10 Channel Fan Hub & Cable Management. Here is my current hardware: PSU: 650W EVGA Fully-modular Motherboard: Asus Maximus Ranger VII Watercooling: Raijintek Triton AIO Water Cooling Solution Fan adapter: NZXT Grid 10 Channel Fan Hub Case fans: Corsair Air Series AF120 Performance Edition High Airflow 120mm (x4) 4-pin Corsair Air Series AF140 Quiet Edition High Airflow 140mm (x1) 3-pin My setup at the moment is that I have two fans at the front of the case, both plugged into my motherboard. Two fans at the top attached to the radiator, both plugged into the NZXT grid. The last 140mm fan at the back that's also plugged into the NZXT. The NZXT is plugged into the PSU. Then all 3 case fans have 3 pin adapters for the NZXT as you can only plug in 3-pin. The CPU waterblock is plugged directly into the motherboard and is 3-pin. I want to be able to fully configure the speeds of all these fans including the water cooling. I'm a bit uncertain as apparently 3-pin fans you can't modify the speed. Or if they're plugged directly into the PSU instead of the motherboard this can't be done either. Is there a way for me to have all 5 fans including the CPU waterblock to have configurable speed? Thank you.
