Well hello! Im going to buy my first DSLR. I will be using it for picturing airplanes and other stuff. My budget is around 500$. I was thinking about buying used Canon 1000d which is around 2 years old, and it has done around 10.000 photos. I will also get default 18-55 lens and 75-300mm lens. Is that good for beginner or i should choose other DSLR. Thank you for answers.

I'm looking into getting my first Camera. What I will be going for is Landscapes, Nature, and random stuff but the end goal will be astrophotography. Will a Canon D60 be a good way to go? I don't want to be to cheap 1100-1200$ is my budget for now. Will this be Ok for my first DSLR? I am open to suggestions so please don't hesitate to chime in.

hello guys, I'm going on vacation in a few weeks and would like to hear some recommendations of things that I can't go with out for taking great pictures or maybe some good tips for shooting in very bright environments. Cheers

So the Canon T3i (and other cameras) is on their site for $336 right now. Refurbished, of course, but it's "guaranteed" to work and comes with a one year warranty and a lens. Albeit being a standard starter lens, it's still a nice addition. Thoughts? I personally love the camera, and have used it tons. I think it's a great deal, as opposed to the ~$550-600 you can get it for elsewhere.

So, I wanna start to work as a videographer and I've been eye-balling the D5300. I know... Nikon for video? Srsly? But I've been doing some research and the results of various comparisons have been quite impressive. The D5200 has a bigger dynamic range and far better moire and aliasing than the 700d (besides the smaller crop factor) . The D5300 must have a worse moire behavior because of the lack of AA filter, but it brings the 60fps to the table (something unavailable on the canon side). The only things that make me think about the canon side are: The lens I can use (due to the more versatile lens mount, cheaper lens and the possibility to carry the lens to other systems like the red's, canon's cinema line and blackmagic's cameras) and Magic Lantern. What I want to know is: What kind of things can Magic Lantern improve on the Rebel line or on the 60d? Can it push the fps to 60 or more without going to 720p? Can it make the same improvements that it brought to the 5d mk3?(like hdr video and over full HD raw)? Are there other things that makes Nikon's worse for video besides the aperture lock? Ps: I'm not looking at BlackMagic's Pocket Cinema Camera because I want to take pictures with my camera and because of the simply OBSCENE crop factor.

I want a DSLR and I've been looking around and kind of been doing some homework. So far I found the Nikon D5200 and the Pentax K-50. The other day the D5300 was on sale for $550 for just the body. I would throw in some boundaries like maybe under $800 including lens, like a basic 18-55 lens works <3

Hello, I'm about the get a new DSLR, coming form a canon 350D and already having a lens or two made it easy for me on the next brand. But now i'm stuck at what model to choose, a older canon 600D or the newer(and cheaper) 1200D. Being on a budget (€450,- max) makes this still a hard decission since the 600D has a few functionalities the 1200D doesn't have. 600D exlusives: -rotating screen. -self cleaning CMOS sensor. 1200D exclusives: -2 kinds of stabalization tricks build in. -smartphone app. Further on they are truelly identical to each other in functionality(mp, recording, sound, pictures per second and so on) besides these small things, the older 600d starts at €409,- with a EF-S 18-55mm DC III lens(€447,90 body only, other retailer) and the newer 1200D at €304,28, with just the body and €395,23 with the same lens as the 600D. Having a good alround lens(55-220mm) with stabalizer build-in makes already one point of the 1200D pretty useless to me, but that also counts for the rotating screen on the 600D wich actually is only usefull when traveling since you are able to rotate it backwards sso that it is protected. with those two eliminated there still the self cleaning sensor and the smartphone app. both of them sound quite usefull and useless at the same time for me, since the sensor cleaning isn't needed when you barely switch lenses and the app, ehmm yeah form what i read about it mainly being a manual/guide on how to take advantage of certain situations. So these two DSLR's being nearly identical to each other and weighing out their advantages and disadvantages without it having any real effect on the scale, That is why I am aking what you guys would take as DSLR, the newer(and slightly cheaper) 1200D or the older(not more produced) 600D. So please LTT, let me know what you guys think of these DSLRs and what your own experiences are if you have these, would love to hear them.

I'm planning on buying a DSLR. I'm a beginner and have been using digital cameras for a few years. I'm planning to buy it for taking pictures from family vacations and some videos school projects, and probably some cool things too I was having in mind the Canon 700D 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens Kit Set Wound you recommended or is there any thing that suits me more that is from Canon Any help would be appricated Thxs in advance

Good evening everybody. I have a Canon ImageCLASS D340. And have an issue printing with it. Every time I send it to print I would get an error referring to not having paper in the tray. However, the machine has paper, and I can copy before and after sending print. I already uninstall and reinstall the drivers but still have the same issue. It’s strange, because if it was a sensor or other physical problem it would be the same to copying, since it’s the same origin for picking the paper. Anyway. I don’t know what to do, since I don’t work much with Canon. So, I really need help with this issue. I thank you all for your time and appreciate any advice.

I was about to buy a new printer because my Canon MX492 was possessed and continually power cycling on boot up since 5/29/22. Issue: It started when I went to print something, and it said the printer was not responding. I went over to it, and found that it wasn't connected to the WiFi anymore. I tried connecting to my network, but it asked for the WPS button of course (who even uses that?), then had to go through the back menu to get advanced settings so I could put in a passcode.. When I was clicking through the menu, I clicked on WiFi, then the printer locked up, and power cycled.. After it went through the initial printer calibration, seeming like it would start, it made a "beep", and started over at initial power on. It only says "Canon" on the screen. No buttons are responsive. So, over to the Canon forums I go to find a plethora of other users having the same problem with my printer, but also many other models.. Solution to stop Boot Loop: Turn off WiFi... So far the only thing that's stopped it from booting besides unplugging it, is to turn off the Wireless Networks it is familiar with. In my UniFi controller, I disabled my Wireless Network while it was in a boot cycle, and it stopped doing it, and is now booted up... but the only option I now have is USB. - There are no firmware updates to fix this. No Solution: This seems pretty news worthy as a royal eff up on Canon's part.. Not sure if it was a bad firmware push, but these printers are basically bricked without them somehow getting a firmware pushed to them to fix the issue. Work Around: The issue is related to DNS. This can be solved by turning off your WiFi Access Point temporarily (or unplugging the Ethernet from the WAN port of your Router) so that the router/ap has no internet. The printer will turn on as it normally should. Go to Setup menu > Web Services > DNS Server Setup > Manual Setup Configure an IP Address from your internal network that isn't in use by any other device or specifically, not your DNS server. This makes it so the printer cannot make queries. After that's configured, press OK, and select the "NO" or "Off" option and press OK. Once that's completed, you can wait a few minutes and turn your WiFi back on. This should be a viable work around for most users.
