hi, i want to build a pc with 13400f and 6650xt and i'm using a mATX mobo. i'm confused about the case. h5 flow vs 4000d airflow. i saw a post here where cpu & gpu temps were given with stock fans and 2 fans in h5 flow& stock fans in 4000d. but there wasn't the temp in 4000d with fans. i will use sickleflow 120 argb fans. 3 fans(2-front,1-rear) in h5 flow & 4fans(3-front,1-rear) in 4000d airflow. please suggest which scenario will be better. and h5 has a 3.2 gen2 type c for with will be useful for my external diy ssd with 3.2 gen2 port where 4000d has3.1gen2. but this is nit the deciding factor. temp and performence is the main focus.

I've been meaning to a do a little video on a project I started back at the very beginning of the pandemic: A full on wardrobe PC - with the PC on the other side of the wall from my desk and work space. if i insert 4cm height gpu here does it get enough airflow? iam using antec df 600flux case which has psu shroud and my gpu is gigabyte 2060 windforce oc(i using that slot for mining)

I have bubble wrap on top of the case because there are holes on top of the case for the AIO cooler fan (I assume) and I'm worried if some water accidentally gets inside the case from those holes. I'm not clumsy but I don't want to take risks. I also have an external HDD on top of the case (on top of the bubble wrap now) so is it bad for the PC? If so, what can I put to cover those holes? I feel I should also mention that I do not have an AIO cooler.

To start off, I Imagine this will be quite a long post, it's somewhat of a rant, and I don't really need anything right now so it's going to immediately turn of lots of people. That's fine. I just wanted to hear some feedback regarding my experience trying to find server cabinets for a future project I have in mind. This is a place for discussion after all. So bear with me. So I have this idea right. It's somewhat a dream of mine and I've spent a long time thinking of how to achieve this even if it will take a few years. I would like to somewhat follow in Linus' footsteps after he completed Personal Rig Update 2015(2016) and successfully utilized Optical Thunderbolt to move his personal rig out of the same room as his peripherals. I have a similar idea to that, but on an entirely different scale. My idea is this: I would like to source a 24-42u server cabinet/ enclosure, a server rack-mounted 4u case(which I will get multiples of), and multiple runs of 100ft Optical thunderbolt cable. I don't know if I will be in the same house when I finally start working on this project, but the issue still remains. I would clear a space in the basement to place the server cabinet, build a new personal rig and a few other high-performance computers, and finally run the Optical Thunderbolt upstairs to a room where all the peripherals will connect to a breakout box. This system can apply to multiple rooms in the house running off different computers. Each desk basically acting as a sort of terminal to each respective computer. This will allow the computers 4u's worth of space for housing high-performance components while taking up that space somewhere else entirely(in the server cabinet in the basement). The cabinet will not just house computers; I plan to create a home lab with full networking and a NAS. I probably spent more time than I should researching components and solutions for future reference. I managed to find a couple great options for 4u rackmount computer cases that are compatible with the parts I would like to use and might even have room for water cooling. The last piece of the puzzle in my mind is a cabinet to house everything. I thought this would be the easiest part because server cabinets are standardised and don't vary much from model to model... right? Also price wouldn't be an issue because it's just fabricated metal, they oftentimes don't even come with rails, sides, a door, or even casters........... right? <rant> So as I've spent a long time researching everything that will go in the cabinet, I've also spent a long time researching the cabinets themselves. I Immediately hit a wall because I started to see a pattern with the price. "Why is an 18u open-frame rack more than $500US? It doesn't even have rails, sides, a door, or even casters." You can see where I'm going with this. I was somewhat surprised to find that sites like Amazon and Newegg didn't have a large selection, but that's somewhat justified because those are more consumer-centric sites. So I started looking at sites like: rackmountsolutions .net, xcase .co.uk, servercase .co.uk, racksolutions .com (not to be confused with rackmountsolutions .net), superlogics .com, ebay and even my local craigslist. At this point I started getting frustrated. I just wanna find a 24-42u standard 19 inch 25-30 inch-deep cabinet to house my hobby. I can envision the bomb cost for most of these cabinets being under $100. So what gives? I've read about a dozen times about how building a cabinet can be a better solution than actually buying one by a company that specializes in building them. Like, actually what the fuck. Is the only reason why cabinets are so expensive because manufacturers artificially inflate the price because only large corporations and data centers purchase their products? This can't be the only reason can it? There's no monopoly/ oligopoly with server cabinet manufacturers. Where's the competition? The only way to find reasonably priced enclosures that I've heard of so far is to find ones that aren't being used anymore; Surplus, unused, no longer needed, being sold for less than half their original value. And it's still kind of overpriced. I should stop. </rant> I'm interested to hear what others think of the situation and I'm open to suggestions regarding a better server cabinet solution, or a better solution overall with this project-in-the-making. Here's the cases I'm looking at: ARK IPC-4570 Black Nice design, built well, reasonable price. Rosewill RSV-L4000 Slightly longer, more fans, room for water cooling? Here's a cabinet I kinda like, too bad it's expensive: Tripp Lite 24U Blaaaaack, sweet-spot size, fully-enclosed, expensive :c tl;dr Why are server rack-mount cabinets enclosures so expensive?

I am trying to build a workstation computer to hold me over until later in the year when I build my two PC workstation. (From my other topic, for those who were assisting me). I need someone to proofread through the build, make any suggestions, and I need to figure out a good server rack, and what kind of chassis will fit that rack. I am trying to keep the price for this set up around $2,500. I think I have a pretty good build for my purposes. Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Dream Weaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, Blender, Unreal Engine 4, Music DAWs/VSTs. This isn't supposed to compare to my other super-builds, but just something more capable than an 8GB ram/2-core system with lower end graphics, that can better handle my needs. A few things that use some help. The biggest dollar amounts are the RAM and the graphics card. Is there a cheaper alternative (that won't sacrifice too much quality) for the 64GB RAM? I would like to keep it at 64GB, but something less expensive, if possible? The graphics card can actually be used again later in a higher end build, but if there is an equal alternative for less, please let me know. Possibly more importantly, as I'm even more confused by this, I need to find a suitable server rack/cabinet. For some reason, everywhere I look online, they are upwards of $500? Hi, I am working on buying my own server rack to fit in my switch, NAS etc. I am searching for a server cabinet which is max 350mm in height and 550mm deep. Because the closet door is fixed on top of my closet the cabinet door must have 15mm space at the top-side. I would like it to be an 6U so I would be able to fit in three units and still be able to place my NAS (Synology DS1515+) on the bottom. Most 6U cabinets I find are 368mm in height and will nog fit my closet. Any suggestions or brilliant ideas over here? I don't have a huge budget btw. Regards Patrick

hey, ive looked around on different sites trying to determine what cabinet dimensions match with cases. it seems that each time i settle on a case i cant find a cabinet to put it in. im sure im just over complicating things. but i dont want to dump money into something that wont work together. so i am here asking for help. i am a complete noob when it comes to server parts so forgive me if i am mis-naming something. here is what i am looking for. 15u enclosed server cabinet (glass front door would be preferred) 4u case (to put gaming desktop in) Hardware mATX/ ATX mobo, able to fit fullsize GPU., fan size 120mm , dont really need hotswap bays on this one because 1tb ssd rails to support and slide 4u case from cabinet i eventually want to have 3 4u cases in the 15u cabinet leaving some space for extras to be added. as far as budget around $500 preferably less. any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Hello, everyone! Im making a Cabinet to hold a entertainment system. It will hold a PC a video switch, a ups, cable box, and maybe a dvd player? The cabinet currently has absolutely no vent holes. I wanted to drill holes in bottom to intake 3 120mm fans for pc and 1 120mm intake on side for dvd player and cable box and two 120mm exhaust fans on top. What im worried about is my pc pulls 3 120mm fans intake so I want to match the intake into the cabinet but there is only room for 2 exhaust fans at top because of how cabinet is made. Will 4 intake and 2 Exhaust fans be too extreme positive pressure? I want my computer to have plenty of air flow but can only have 2 exhaust fans. Will this put too much pressure on the fans making them wear out? Will cutting air vents on top for the air to escape help? Please help not sure what to do. Also I wantto use super quiet fans (Thinking noctua) What would you recommend static pressure, or airflow?

Hi. So far, I stacked a lot of stuff into a piece of furniture that was litterally a leftover extra unit of kitchen construction from the people who were living before where I live now. And after 3years, it started to sloooooowly give up. The side of it is, month after month, creeping away to the side, leaving the bottom plate. This "thing" (with my pitiful attempt at "trying" to do something to at least be able to sleep last night and stress a little bit less) is actually where are: -my two storage and virtualization server -my fiber router -my U4 workstation&maincomputer and it's on top of it that are stored a screen, keyboard and KVM switch + loads of spare parts... So, here I am... looking for a rack cabinet between 15 and 18U, deep enough to take in a R720, the cheapest possible that can be delievered in France/EU. I'm quite sick of messaging every marketplace seller asking how deep of a server we can fit in their advertised "600mm deep" cabinet, and be told that the rails are so pushed back that only 45mm deep servers would fit, or that the back panel isn't removable, or only to be never answered. And yeah, I know officially Dell wants 75cm of rack depth and stuff, but aint got that kind of money and this R720 is gonna sit on the bottom like a naughty boy on top of the UPS units. I mean, if someone there knows which brand/place/vendor sells cheapo deep 15 to 18U rack cabinets with non-stellar shipping costs in EU, it would be awesome. That old kitchen cabinet is painfully slowly dislocating.

Hi All, I'm going to assemble my first Deep learning rig and was wondering is I should put it in a PC cabinet or on a testbench. I won't be swapping out the parts too often, so a cabinet makes more sence. But I feel i can get a testbench for cheap and it will save me some space and money. Also, it will have more natural air cooling. But i might face problems with dust and protection of my parts. Appreciate any help i could get t make a decision. Regards.

So, this is my first personal build. I saved up for this for a few years. I bought a Ryzen 3 2200g and am going to use the Vega 8 until I can save up to buy a RX 580 which is going cheaper than a GTX 1650 here in India nowadays. I also bought Corsair Vengeance 8 GB @3000 MHz and a Kingston 240 GB SSD. What kind of power supply should I choose? I thought of going Cooler Master MWE 550 white since, I can't find the bronze rated one on Amazon, though I might be able to find out offline if I look for it. Should I go for a 1 TB Hard drive for my game library and movies too? Or just get another SSD in lower capacity? I'm planning to get any decent B450 board which can hold my APU for the time being and if I upgrade to a newer CPU down the road, I won't have to change it too. Which one should I choose? FYI, I might be requiring 4 DIMM slots. Any decent black cabinet with one intake and one outtake fan and a tempered glass panel should do the trick. Any suggestions? Please help me out with further tips if you can. Appreciate it.

I bought this cabinet recently. It has options to mount 360mm cooler on front as well as side panel. r It comes with two 3.5 inch mounting bays. This is where the confusion starts. 1. Apparently, each of these bays can house two 3.5 inch HDD. I read that in a review in Newegg. I failed to understand how. I could mount only one HDD in one bay. 2. Using the 3.5 inch bay blocks off the place where I could have mounted a 120mm cabinet fan. Is that how it is supposed to be? The website provides very little information, could not find any manual.
