  1. Hi everyone, I am thinking what Power Supply will be better for my 13600KF + RX 7900 XTX build. Choosing between two options: MSI A1000G or Be Quiet! Pure Power 12M. What can you suggest? Thanks a lot!
  2. Budget : 300€ Country: The Eu Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Fortnite,cs2 and phasmophobia. Other details : i already have a r5 3600 don't have the stock cooler. Items can be used.
  3. Considering a budget-friendly PC build with a Ryzen 5 3600, RX 5600XT, A320M motherboard, and 16GB DDR4 RAM, the chosen PSU is a Super Flower SF-500P12A. While Super Flower is a reputable brand, this specific model is older and lacks an efficiency rating. Reported efficiencies are 84.43%, 84.95%, and 81.30% at 100%, 50%, and 20% loads, respectively. Questions: Go for it due to the reliable brand and non-power-hungry components? Avoid it because of its age and lack of a standard efficiency rating like 80+, 80+ Bronze?
  4. Upgrading my PC and need a new power supply as I am terrified of using mine for a new card, and can't. Current rig: Ryzen 5 2600 GTX 970 (getting an RX 5700 (non xt)) Gigabyte B450M DS3H 16 GB 2400 mhz 250GB Sata SSD 1TB 7.2k RPM HDD 650W generic random power supply I must've taken out from an old PC, hell it has a single 6pin with the other for the gpu coming from a 2x molex to 6pin adapter (surprisingly GPU draws the rated amount of power at 100% usage) and has no on or off switch There's a lot of information online that all differs ever so slightly, some say 100w overhead, some say multiply your load wattage from a PSU calculator by 1.4 or 1.5, some say go for double as PSUs are at their most reliable and efficient at 50% capacity. That last part is what's interesting for me, as I'm working on a budget and don't think I can let myself spend more than half of the GPU price on the PSU as I've already upped my budget from 30 euros used to 60ish new/used and I've read that if I decide to go for a budget option its best to go for higher wattage ones for the previously stated reason. So what information is accurate? OuterVision's calculator estimates the load wattage to be at around 340 Watts. Should I go for a 550W one, a 600w or even a 750W? Used market here in my country is scarce, mostly filled with old high wattage corsair PSUs and random AliExpress types, which makes me look more at new budget units (like the bQ System Power 10 or various Deepcool PK series models), but the PSU tier list puts most of those at E tier, which I assume is due to a lack of reviews for them rather than them being a bomb risk. I mean, my sketchy PSU is yet to shut my system down once and my GPU is nearly always at max draw during games. It even handled furmark tests with power limit set to 110%. Thats one of the reasons im sceptical of statements that buying anything under B or C tier is a huge risk. Anyway, any help is appreciated, I'm here to get help and learn some PSU information as well!
  5. Hey, thank you for your time and help; I'm really grateful. Could y'all gut check me + give any feedback on performance / cost efficiencies you think would be worth worth investing in? This is my first build in over a decade and with how excited I am to do it, I don't want to overspend where I don't need to. Thank you! Sincerely! ——— Budget (including currency): ~$1,800 USD Country: United States, Oregon (with no access to a Microcenter) Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming only: AAA games (ex. Elden Ring, Starfield), WoW, CS:GO/CS2, Stardew Valley Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Peripherals: Not needed. Upgrading from: Console, Xbox Series Planning to buy: In the upcoming week. Resolution: I'll be playing at 1440p, 144hz Other: I want to stick with an AMD CPU and the 7900 XTX, otherwise I'm open to suggestions. PCPartPicker: The lists are identical with the exception of the CPU—I started with a Ryzen 7 7700x and am considering upgrading to the 7800X3D, even though it puts me over budget. Anyway, do either of these builds feel like overkill in any regard? Ryzen 7 7700X + 7900 XTX Ryzen 7 7800X3D + 7900 XTX
  6. Hey Everyone I have a really old Monitor, 1080p 60hz ~~ 120hz (marketing), an old 3d Asus VG278H. I bought it about 10 years ago and its still going strong, but i want an upgrade. My current Graphics card is an Asus RTX2060 6GB OC, since i will be upgrading my monitor i think i should upgrade my graphics card too as it might struggle with newer monitors. I haven't decided on a new monitor as of yet, but i will most likely go 1440p, 144hz, as I've read that's a good jump from 60hz. The Graphics card i am thinking of is a 3080, its a nice jump from my 2060, or would it be worth my while going straight to the 40 series, like a 4070. I am kind of budget conscience, i don't want to spend lots of money on a 4090, as i probably wont use it to its full potential. I play games, currently playing Diablo 4, i will play Starfield when it comes out, and will probably get into Baldur's Gate at some point. I mainly use my computer for watching content, with the odd gaming, when a title comes out i like. I'm not competitive, so i don't need the bee's knees. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Current Spec CPU: Ryzen R5 5600x MoBo: Asus ROG Strix B550-A Gaming Ram: 16Gb 3200 Graphics: Asus RTX2060 6GB OC
  7. Budget (including currency): $2800 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Val, apex, fortnite, cod, diablo, r6, and some light CAD for school Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): 1440p monitor needs to be in budget and the gpu has already been purchased, hence the $1120 price. Also, it needs to be a matx case since I will have limited space. There's no atx 3.0 psu because I will be using custom cable mod extensions. 8. So can someone give me some feedback on this This build ? The budget was around 2000€ (but went a bit over), on top of that i want a new monitor. The build is Mostly for gaming on 1440p high, and for looking good on my desk. Some qeustions i have regarding this build people recocomended that i upgraded to a 7900 xtx over an xt is this a good upgrade for the price ? is the airflow really is that bad of the hyte y40 (with extra fans) can't find reliable answers online ? did i overspend on the pc in comparison to the monitor ? should i upgrade the ryzen 5 to a 7 7700x ? Please let me now what you think of this build would really apricate the feedback. https://nl.pcpartpicker.com/list/B6HKyK The theme is white and black (so I don’t mind spending a little extra on rgb and white parts.) And I live in the Netherlands.
  9. Long time viewer, first time poster. Long story short I'm upgrading my pc from 9th gen to 13th gen and moving from ddr4 to ddr5. I currently have a 9900k cooled by a h100i aio and rtx 3070ti and will be upgrading to a 13900kf with a h170i aio. I currently have an rm750x psu from corsair. I was looking at the hx1000i also from corsair to replace this. Would that be a good choice or does anyone have any other reccomendations? Further to this I have bought the 7000d airflow case to go with this upgrade and I'm struggling to find a board at a reasonable price that has the 2 usb 3 headers and usb 3 type c header. The majority of boards only seem to have 1 usb 3 header. I've been looking at the Asus Rog Strix Z790-E, it has the headers I need and I can afford it but £530 for a mobo just seems too much to me. Alternatively I've been looking at the MSI MEG z690 Ace. It also has the headers I need, and at a cheaper price of £400. I'm just unsure whether to go with the older chipset. My ram should work in either chipset as its 6400MTs cl32 and has both boards listed on the QVL. So yeah, just looking for any suggestions on those two things really. P.s. forgot to mention, I really only use my pc for gaming, and I pretty much never oc

Budget (including currency): About 2000$ USD not including the graphics card Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly FPS games like Escape from tarkov, RDR2, Some VR like boneworks and VrChat, and some unity/Unreal and blender work. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I Have a build that someone made for me, but i need some more help. I need to know if its good or if there will be bottlenecking or there are better options/things you guys would change. I also need a motherboard recommendation, as i have no idea what makes a motherboard good. Heres the list. Thanks! (Also if it helps the build im trying to do it a whiteout) https://pcpartpicker.com/user/DrowsyONG/saved/CPDrMp
  11. Hello, before I start I just want to let you guys know that my budget is £1400 but I'm willing to go slightly over if it's worth it. I want to use the pc for moderate gaming and software like blender, Before I purchase a custom pre built from pc specialist, I would like to see what you guys think of it and if there is anything you would change. I'm also open to any critism, just to learn from. 13. Hi, My motherboard, the MSI B550 pro-vdh wifi , has only 2 aRGB headers but I have 3 aRGB fans (Thermalright TL-C12C-S). Do I have to use an aRGB hub or would an aRGB splitter be fine? Also, if I use a splitter or a hub, will each individual fan be controllable? Any recommendations for hubs or splitters would be appreciated. My budget for hubs/splitters is $15.
  14. It’s been a few years since I last built a pc, haven’t been keeping track of trends and prices either. I love playing games with my gf, but we’re reaching a point where the games we want to play aren’t running on her laptop. I was looking at getting her the parts and building it together as an activity, and was wanting a second look over the list I have atm. I know she wants something relatively nice looking, nothing over the top but some rgb here and there to make it special. 1080p at 60fps, is the low goal, but more fps would be great. Wanting rtx as well, also wanting to future proof a little with a heftier psu, wifi is a must, and the windows on there is just a reference for me to see. Ignoring the operating system I’m wanting to keep it below $1000. If any more can be cut down without sacrificing too much on looks or performance that would be great! 15. Hey is this a good list for $550 with No gpu because I already have one. Thansk in advance! https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RgrbGL
  16. Heyo! I was planning on getting a computer a while back, but life kinda got in the way. I finally have the money again, but I was told reccomendations from about a month ago are probably outdated by now. Budget (including currency): 1,400 - 1,550ish USD Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: apex, cyberpunk, hopefully newer high graphics games and hopefully some simple VR games. Other details: My Current PC that I did not build: - AMD Athlon x4 860K Quad Core Processor - 8GB DDR3 - 1TB HHD - 500gb SSD - AMD Radeon R7 360 Series I have to play on the lowest graphics, and generally dont get above 20 fps in shooters I was recommended these 2 most recently: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tbyWtn https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mGyjJM For the second build, I included the pro versions of the SSDs, but I have no clue what that means or if it is worth the $10 difference. I also included the rbg version of the ram I was reccomended since it was cheaper than the normal. Is RBG ram worse than normal or something? I am not sure how to tell what is actually good for a gaming computer though. How do I know what will work? I still don't really know what I am doing, but this is what I think I need: - 1tb or more SSD M.2 NVME - a smaller SSD M.2 NVME as a boot drive - 16gb DDR4 ram - At least 4 cores, but I think that is getting outdated? So probably 6 if it is at all reasonable within the budget - 3 more usb 2.0 or 3.0 (is the difference worth it?) - 1 or 2 HDMI ports - bluetooth if it isnt too expensive - are the fans build into the case enough? - I heard that you can legally buy windows 11 super cheap by buying just a key or something? It honestly went right over my head
  17. Budget (including currency): $1500 US Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Minecraft, Rust, Battlefield, Halo, Skyrim, Elden Ring..etc I have no knowledge of PC builds. I'll appreciate it if someone can help me out. I would like to be able to run 4k and watch streams on youtube to have the best experience.
  18. Need help with fan configuration and set up. Building in hyte y60, motherboard is rog strix b550-f, aio is nzxt kraken z73. I have 8 be quiet light wings. 3 of the fans on radiator. Light wings come with argb hub but not fan hub. Motherboard has 5 available fan headers and 1 aio pump header. I figure I need a fan hub or two to power all of them along with configuring the rgb. Any help or suggestions for hub choice or alternatives would be greatly appreciated.
  19. So my build is almost done just waiting on which psu I should get. My PC specs are 3070 ti FTW3 EVGA + 6 rgb fans that came with the case + 16gb ram 3600 + 5600x and using its stock cooler.
  20. Budget (including currency): $2500 USD Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Satisfactory, Hydroneer, modded payday 2/3, light 3d modeling, multitasking. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): https://pcpartpicker.com/list/PFXxY9 (New, Edited System) Mostly need help with what else I need for wiring the fans, and any cheaper but similar spec parts (motherboard, power supply) Also, how would my chosen power supply use the 3070 12 pin connector? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RX9VY9 (Original System)
  21. Hey I have the Gigabyte B550 GAMING X2 motherboard and I'm planning to get a 1660 super I have researched the dimensions of the mobo and cannot find any information on the measurements I cannot measure mine correctly. on the motherboard this is in the way --> https://imgur.com/a/bk5ysiZ and my current gpu just about fits. for anyone with similar motherboards, will it fit or will I have to get a new one thank you! dimensions for 1660 super are Slot Width: Dual-slot Length: 280 mm Width: 117 mm Height: 40 mm according to https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/gigabyte-gtx-1660-super-gaming-oc.b7394
  22. I am trying to upgrade a prebuilt i have and the only part i now need is the power supply. I want this to be the last upgrade i do with this pc so i want the psu to be reliable and last me a couple years. The main problem i’m having is deciding wether i need 550w or 650w; every where i’ve looked people always say different things. I want the psu to be around £45 and so far i’ve found these psus on scan uk for that around that price : Corsair (refurbished) cx650m (2017)£45 corsair (refurbished) cx750m(2021) £50 corsair cv650 £40 corsair cx550f £40 evga 650bq £45 ( scan uk states that refurbished corsair products are repaired with factory corsair replacement parts) Based on the cultist psu tier list the psus i am looking at rank at; cx550f - tier b (gold / best in bracket) cx650m - tier c (gold) cv650 - tier c (gold) 600bq - tier c cx750m(2021) - tier c low -> im not sure why it places so low I don’t know what one to choose as i feel like both the cx550f and cx750m are good deals for their price however they rank so differently on the tier list. It’s probably not good if i base what i buy solely on that tier list so i need your guys help. I would really appreciate your help to decide the best psu out of the five i’ve chosen. Thanks.
  23. Budget (including currency): Around $450 or Less. 500 Max. Country: USA Mainland Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Streaming, Multitasking, 6+ Hours of Games, Art Programs (Online ones like DrawPile as well), Google Applications (Multiple open at once). mostly will be used for Streaming Games, Work, and Holding and making a lot of huge Art Image Files, preferably in PNG. Avoiding Cloud Storage. Transferring Files to and from Device quickly. Check Parts List Desc. Other details 16GB RAM is my ideal, but can work with 8GB if it’s sufficient for the minimum and cost effective for later upgrading. 60HZ Refresh Rate minimum, 1080p or Mid-level graphics settings in games. 40 FPS or a little under is minimum. Windows 10 (Pro, Home, doesn’t matter). I will find keyboard later, I already have a Monitor (Samsung M5) and Free blutooth USB connected Mouse. Lag-free display Ps4 + Ps5 Console Games I really want to avoid Offloading of tabs, apps, and programs. I don’t plan on buying all components at once on the same day/week, and will wait over this next year to get the best prices. I’m not worried about having the best of the best, just aiming for manageable. Can add things or change later, since I’m pretty clueless, being this is my first build. Suggestions greatly appreciated, thank you. debating on starting with i3-10100 or i5 10th gen / any cpu that’s at least equivalent to the i3-100 efps https://pcpartpicker.com/user/SmokyOni/saved/W29JnQ

  25. Hello! New to pc parts and stuff so my terminology might be somewhat off. I recently picked up this pc https://www.newegg.ca/abs-ali597/p/N82E16883360232?Item=N82E16883360232 Here are the specs to the build that are necessary to the issue Motherboard: Gigabyte B560 DS3H AC Y-1 Fans: Deepcool cf120 Case: Deepcool MATREXX 50 My issue: The rgb on the cf120 fans at the moment are only able to controlled by the button on the top of the case rather than the rgb software on the computer. Goal: From what I've gathered online and talking to others is that I need to connect the controller to the argb port on the motherboard which is the D_LED1 port, which has the thee prongs with one space between them. I am unable to find the cord to plug into the argb port on the motherboard to fix the issue. I will link a youtube video that has instructions on how to fix this exact issue however my motherboard and case/setup are slightly different than his and I am unable to find the cord that matches his: Here are some photos that show my setup: The cord running from the rgb fans (unnamed(1)) runs to the piece in the 2 and 3 unnamed photos and runs up to the hub at the top of the back of the pc (unnamed pic). Let me know if there is any other information you need.
