I have 3 builds that I am looking at. Just wanted some peoples thoughts on which one is the best. Option 1: Prebuilt system from MSY http://www.msy.com.au/viconline/mspec-gaming-pc/20266-mspec-infinity-gaming-system-amd-edition.html Option 2: PC Partpicker build guide https://au.pcpartpicker.com/guide/xDNnTW/gaming-streaming-and-editing-build Option three: This thing https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/CZyZhq I need this pc mostly for multimedia purposes, although I would like to start playing more games. Ideally I want to be able to run 3D rendering programs smoothly, edit large premiere pro/after effects files and play games like PUBG with good frame rate on highish settings. My budget is about 2.5k AUD but isn't set in stone. Please let me know if you need any more info.

[EDIT] I’ve changed a few things. I also want to know of some in-case lighting options. Preferably blue or purple. I’ve never built a gaming pc before, only older 2000s computers. Just entering realm of gaming. Is this a good build? I’m looking for a white/blue asthetic, but staying close to the $1000 price tag. (Keyboard, mice, and headset, are all just chosen asthetic wise for now, just want some feedback on them too.) Is there anything else that I would need? I am a graphic designer and I use Adobe CC for all my work. I need a computer that will be dedicated to the Adobe software for editing and motion graphics. This is the part list my research has brought me to and my budget was around $2000. This is my first build, so I'm a little unsure if I'm missing anything or overlooking some issues this part list may bring. What do you think? Would you change anything? Thank you so much for your help! Here is the link to my parts/build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DcmnYr

Have been putting together a budget gaming PC that has potential for a lot of upgradability. Will only be playing e-sport games so high performance isn't that important to me just want an upgrade from my 6 year old mac. I was wondering if someone could please check through my build and double check for me that the parts are compatible and if there are any recomendations on if I should change any part of my build. I am from the UK and trying to get a pc and monitor setup for around £600-£700. Many thanks https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/WVg69W

Hey guys, so I'm planning out a mini ITX build and I found a cheap motherboard with all the things I need, but something seems off about the review count and pricetag that irks me. There's only 2 reviews on Newegg about it at, and at a costof only $90 USD, I can't help but feel like there's something wrong. Has anyone used the MSI - B250I PRO? Would love feedback, thanks! Hi guys, I am new to PC Masterrace and never build any PC before and yes I do play games before but mostly on laptop (not a gaming one but still have enough specs). I am planning to build a budget gaming PC that also uses for other things such as study, programming, and some photoshop (rarely). I had picked some of the components on my own. My aim is to play most AAA titles and indies games at medium to high (very high if I can) at 1080p with 60FPS+ that all I want. All prices are in USD and local store CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 = 227$ CPU Cooler: Deep Cool GAMMAXX 400 = 13$ Ram: G.Skill FORTIS DD4 2400MHz 8GB = 57$ Storage: WD Green M.2 SSD 2280 120 GB = 65$ WD Carviar Blue 3.5 1TB = 49$ Power Supply: Corsair VS450 450W = 49$ MotherBoard: MSI B350 TOMAHAWK = 110$ Graphics Card: MSI GTX 1050Ti 4G OC = 189$ (I also found a MSI 1060 (3GB) for 319$ but to keep thing budget I choose 1050 instead) Monitor: Dell 21.5 inch E2216HV = 120$ (because no one in my household owns a desktop) Case: Xigmatek MACH II = 49$ (I don't care much about cool case or RBG) Network card: D-Link DWA-548 = 8$ (my router are far from my room, I mean not too far but I prefer to use wireless) Total of 936$

So this is my first PC build and after researching and checking compatibility/looking for good parts this is what I have come up with. The purpose of this post is mainly to double check the build because I want to make sure I don't have a major issue with my build before I pay for it. Also, this is my first build after all so if you have any tips for the actual build process that would be appreciated Thanks in advance. NOTE: At the time of writing some of these items are on sale and they may go up and down in price. Price before rebates: 646.74 I do have a few questions about some things I am paranoid about getting right for my first build: A: Generally, does the build look good? Or is there some super amazing ultra cheap price-performance graphics card that would better serve me. Basically is there anything that I can or should upgrade for my benefit (preferably for less or the same amount of money) B: does the motherboard look good, is there a better one for the same price? What about compatibility? Yes, I have checked compatibility with everything but I am paranoid and confirmation never hurts. C: Does the power supply fit my needs, this is another thing I am paranoid about because bad power supplies can destroy your whole system. Does it deliver enough wattage, I have checked this myself and I believe it does but I want to make sure. Is corsair trustworthy (I have heard they are +amazon reviews look good but want to double check). D: Do I need the wifi adapter that I have or does the motherboard come with wifi, the reason it's included is because I think I need it. This is something I have looked up and been unable to find an answer to (I am on a budget so $8 is actually significant). Thanks in advance for any answers.

I'm looking to build a new PC for Christmas and have a fairly good idea of what I was hardware wise but have made some compromises and need advice as to whether ive made any bad decisions in that regard. Before I start listing components I should lay out that I have a rough budget of $1500-$1700 AUD (I'm not really willing to go over $1700 not including shipping). I aim to build a PC that can run games like fallout 4 and Civilization VI on a single 1080p Monitor (with maybe the possibility of considering a second monitor down the road). I have a mouse and keyboard but for the system it self I want to start fresh. The PC will just be living under a desk so windows and cables don't matter to me at all for this build, it just needs to be functional and needs to be as close to $1500 AUD as possible without making compromises where it's really a bad idea to save a few dollars. I'm building the PC because i was using a gaming laptop but I'm not happy with the way it ran fallout 4 so I think its time to build a PC. In terms of CPU I'm thinking of going with an i5 6500. I looked at a 6600 and even a 6600k but considering how much I want to stick to my budget I felt that the gap between the 6500 and the 6600 was small enough that it was worth saving $40 AUD. In terms of GPU I'm thinking a GTX 1060, specifically a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 WindForce OC 6GB. There are two big questions I have in terms of this. The 3GB version of the card is $55 AUD cheaper, however the 6GB card seems much more future proof but I would love to have some input in that regard. I also want to know whether I made the right call going for a Gigabyte card. The motherboard is where I'm the most clueless, and I guess overwhelmed. I thought a Gigabyte Z170-HD3. I know that I want 16GB of DDR4 memory and that I do not intend to ever run more than one graphics card and so it seems to be quite cheap while still doing everything I need it to. In saying that, sound is something I care about more than having a ton of spare ports because I don't tend to be the kind of person to use more than a keyboard and mouse peripheral wise and I've considered maybe getting a soundcard down the track but I have external amps that I can use in the meantime. For RAM I considered going with 2x8GB Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4 but to allow for better use of the RAM I know that I should probably spend a little more and get 4x4GB sticks. Would still love to hear your thoughts given my motherboard choice. Storage wise I'm pretty set on a Samsung 750 EVO 120GB SSD for windows and a few games and then a Seagate Barracuda 1TB ST1000DM003 because its REALLY CHEAP but if you think I've made a bad call with either of them then please let me know about it. For my power supply I like the price of the EVGA 500B 500W Power Supply and I can't forsee my system ever drawing that much power and it seems silly to over do it. Case and fans don't need to be anything special, Noise and appearance aren't even considerations for me so imThermaltake Black Versa H25 Mid Tower Chassisa case, a Cooler Master Hyper 103 CPU Cooler, a Corsair Air Series SP120 High Static Pressure LED Fan and to go with it a Corsair Air Series SP120 LED Fan Twin Pack for some extra flow. If the system runs too hot I can always throw more fans in it later. I am of course, getting a windows 10 USB flash drive to go with it. With all this$1595 AUD without shipping. If there are any areas where I can clearly make a sacrifice to save some money please let me know and alternatively, if there are some areas where I've made a very bad decision please let me know. Thanks in advance

Hi, I'm Rev. Thanks for clicking. I'm requesting some critique on my first (future) PC build. List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ccKGmq 1. Budget & Location Target price is below $1800 USD; location is East Coast United States (UTC-5). 2. Aim The primary purpose of this rig is to run most AAA video games at 1440p on high/ultra settings at a refresh rate above 60 FPS. If I had to state a more concrete goal, it would be to run Destiny 2 on ultra-graphic settings at 120 FPS. 3. Monitors I will be running two monitors (already purchased). one Acer XB271HU abmiprz 27.0" 2560x1440 165 Hz monitor AND one Acer S231HL 23" 1920x1080 60Hz monitor 4. Peripherals I will be using a Razer Ornata Chroma keyboard and a Logitech G403 Hero mouse (both already purchased). Speakers are not a concern and I'm not sure anyone agrees on headphones. I was looking at the ASUS ROG Delta but I'd rather leave that for another discussion. I currently use Astro A50 Gen3's unfortunately. 5. Why are you upgrading? In late 2016, I purchased an Acer Predator G3-710-UC11 (model#:DGB14AA008) (http://snlookup.com/acer-predator-g3-710-desktop-dg-b14aa-008-p7197#ffs-tabbed-16) for $1200 (from CostCo) with salary that I had been saving from my part-time job. While not outputting the greatest resolution, it was an exceptional deal for the time and is able to run most games on high at 60+ FPS and has been an extremely reliable computer with the exception of the pre-installed Sound Blaster software which never truly worked. Now that I have graduated from my college and I'm looking for an industry job, I'd like to plan what I'm going to be gaming on in less than a year's time or so. After, I plan on (attempting) to sell my original Acer machine for about $750-800 USD; keyboard, mouse, and all original instructions and packing material included. The parts have been chosen by binging LTT and Techquickie videos for weeks. Computers are not foreign to me; my major in college was Cybersecurity and I am the proud owner of a new CompTIA CySA+ certification. Regardless, I am still very new to consumer computer building. The following is a complete list of components I intend on purchasing with the exception of the power supply which I bought to upgrade my Acer pre-built (I assumed there was an issue with the current power supply. There was not.). List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ccKGmq PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU Intel Core i7-9700K 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor $339.99 @ Amazon CPU Cooler Corsair H100i v2 70.69 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler $199.87 @ OutletPC Motherboard Gigabyte Z390 AORUS PRO WIFI ATX LGA1151 Motherboard $179.99 @ Amazon Memory Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory $89.99 @ Amazon Storage Samsung 970 Evo 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive $89.99 @ Amazon Storage Seagate Barracuda 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive $79.89 @ OutletPC Video Card MSI GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8 GB GAMING X TRIO Video Card Case Cougar Panzer ATX Mid Tower Case $94.99 @ Newegg Business Power Supply SeaSonic FOCUS Plus Gold 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Operating System Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit $99.89 @ OutletPC Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total (before mail-in rebates) $1184.60 Mail-in rebates -$10.00 Total $1174.60 Generated by PCPartPicker 2019-09-07 16:04 EDT-0400 6. Reasoning CPU: The i7-9700K was chosen as the current strongest CPU for gaming for the price. From what most say, the 9700 is the sweet spot in terms of strength. Cooler: I wanted something that wouldn't break the bank and while physical coolers may be stronger, the peace of mind that you get from moving a liquid cooler was enough to make me switch. Motherboard: It has good reviews and does what I want. It doesn't look half bad either. Memory: 3600 seems to be the current sweet spot. This will not be a work PC so I don't need 32 GB. Storage: (HDD) Good reviews. (SDD) I want something strong that can store at least one game at a time. I have a 250 GB SSD but due to how much space Windows, the page file, etc. take up, I can't store a games on it. I could be convinced to upgrade to a 1 TB 970 Evo if given a good reason. GPU: I want something exceptionally strong with ray-tracing future-proofing. Case: It looks really nice and gets the job done. I'd prefer not to have all glass as I want a good deal of cooling since my room gets exceptionally hot during the day. PSU: In retrospect, I would have looked for something stronger, but I believe that would just be overkill. This is highly-rated and I have already purchased it a while ago. Optical drive: N/A; I would like one as textbooks still come with CDs, but this is a concession I'm willing to make. OS: I'm sensible and not enough of a masochist for Linux. I don't want to spend hours configuring everything. Case fans: I'm willing to take recommendations for what else I should line the case with. UPS: No idea; recommendations? Sound card: N/A; I read the forum post; still don't understand. The motherboard (listed above) is supposed to have decent audio. 7. Final thoughts I want the best I can get without breaking the bank. Style does matter to me and I get anxious when making concessions. I do not need an RGB light show, just a technically-sound machine that won't be an eye-sore. My favorite food is Italian, my favorite color is orange, and my personality type is INTP (also Slytherin-hisssss).

In anticipation of Cyberpunk 2077, and a general want to upgrade my old system, I am looking to spend about a max of $2100 AUD (Roughly 1400 USD at current exchange rates) to get myself something that can play most things very well. The most recent video showed quite a lot of helpful information about potential pricing and what GPU to get for what situation, but I don't really know what I should get in terms of CPU. I've always ran Intel just because it's what I've been told is the best. Now, I'm unsure. For my use-case, I'll be using Greta v2.0 pretty much exclusively for gaming with a pretty heavy focus on competitive FPS games and other intensive titles. I dabble in minor 2d photoshop work for other hobbies, and plan to get a CAD or similar program to work on 3d printing files. I apologize if this question has been answered before, and appreciate any answers.

Hi Guys! I've finally got a build locked down that I'm happy with. After getting some help the other day from the forum, I've decided to switch my build over to AMD rather than Intel. Now, I'm not too sure which CPU I should purchase for my needs - Photoshop, Video Editing, Photo Editing, Multi-tasking, and Gaming. While I plan to game on the build, I'm not overly concerned about losing a few frames as I'll still mainly be using my consoles. Having used an i7 3770 for the past seven years, I'd ideally like to have a computer that lasts. Now, is there a great difference between the 3700x and the 3900x? I'm trying to stick to a $2500 AUD budget, so going for a 3900x will mean that I can only purchase 16gb, whereas the 3700x will allow me to run 32gb with my budget. It's also worth mentioning that I don't plan on doing any overclocking and would prefer to keep things as simple as possible. I'd love to hear your opinions on which CPU I should purchase. Also, if there is anything you think I should change with my build, please just let me know. So after wasting 3 years of my life getting a degree in a field I had no interest in, I am finally able to follow my dream of becoming a game designer. So my goal is to build a totally new pc, because the current one I'm using is having a ton of issues and I have some money on me now and I don't know if the option would be available anytime later. So the build I'm planning is as follows; Ryzen 5 2600X Be Quiet! Dark Pro 4 CPU cooler Gigabyte Aorus RTX GeForce 2060 Xtreme 6G Samsung 970 Evo plus M.2 2 x Corsair vengeance LPX (2*8gb) DDR4 3000 Asus ROG STRIX B450-F gaming NZXT H700i Be Quiet! Straight power 750W full modular 2* 2tb Seagate HDD The total comes up to about ~$1800 since I'm currently in studying here in India. I'm open to any and all suggestions.

wifi card Where should I plug this WiFi card?
DumboDodo posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Where should I plug this WiFi card in? I've already attached its PCIe lane onto the case, but I don't know where to put the card itself in. The guy I bought the PC from told me to plug it in the M.2 slot, but it doesn't seem to fit in. Should I actually put it in the M.2 slot, PCIe 1x slot, or where should I put it? Thanks!-

I've got the Cooler Master H500 case, and it comes with 2 fans which have a shared 3-pin cable. I can control the 4-pin CPU fan (Wraith Stealth) through ASUS' fan monitoring software (Fan Xpert) but I can't seem to control the H500 front intake fans. I can only completely stop them by enabling the Silent Mode. However, I can't control their RPM or RPM curves in anyway. That's because they're 3-pin fans, so they don't support PMW, but is there any way around this? They seem to be running at full speed all the time. Is there any method through which I can control the RPM and RPM curves for the case fans flexibly such that I'd make a balanced preset between the CPU fan and Case fans? NOTE: For some reason, these case fans are labeled "AIO Pump" in both the BIOS and the Fan Xpert Software. Additionally, the rear outtake fan isn't recognized at all by neither the BIOS nor Fan Expert, yet all 3 case fans are working perfectly well.

HELP TURN 2014 AMD STOCK INTO 2019 HARDWARE and prolly crush any other budget builds! So I just sold 33 shares for $1,089. Purchased it in feb 2014 for about 3 bucks ea or a $100 total investment! Since its all AMD stock and hardware involved, i figure in 2014 i gave AMD $100 and now they are paying me back with $1,000 worth of gear. Question is, what to get? R9 3900X and rx 5700 and a water cooler? R5 3600, cooler, m.2, a second sapphire and a round of drinks? etc etc If i was rich in 2014 id be real rich now, alas i was poor then and have some fun money now! (still got 200 shares left i wanna keep, but....) Already have Win10, samsung nu8500 freesync 55", RGB750W PSU, 256G 870 evo ssd and, 950 pro m.2, prime 470x pro, titan rgbz3600 cl18 & what i scalp from my ghetto 8350 rig or "Sapphire Lounge at Club Sabertooth" Mostly game rig but i'd like to run protools, addictive drummer, etc recording stuff. CADD and home design/landscape stuff and listen to linus ramble on in the background of course. until i finish whatever it is im doing that is keeping me from turning off yet another rerun. "the wah the motherboard is 2 grand!!??!" lol

I've just got my first build a few days ago, and it has a very annoying issue. Out of nowhere, the fans would work at full speed and the signal to the monitor is lost. When I press the power button to shut it down. It doesn't. When I hold it, it still doesn't shut down. Same goes for the reset button. I don't have any overclocks or anything that would cause instability at all. Also, I didn't update the bios at all. I let it on the version it came on since the guy I bought the build from told me that BIOS updates are unnecessary unless I face instability issues or so. Does that mean I should update my bios? Or what else should I do? The only things I have modified in the BIOS are the RAM speeds (I set them to 3200MHz because they were auto-set to 2133MHz) and the CHA_FAN2 fan (I set it to DC rather than PWM.) P.S: It doesn't do that in heavy or excessive tasks, so it's not overheating at all. In fact, it's a high airflow build. Thanks!
