Getting (not necessarily stable) down to 90/100 fps in cs2 (dm Vertigo) with these specs (HP Omen prebuilt) cpu: i9 11900k gpu: 3080 (10gb vram) ram: 2x16gb Kingston HyperX Fury I'm hating the hp bloatware (and the fact its locking advacned bios settings from me), so looking to build my own PC. Wanting to use some of my parts tho, and wondering what the bottleneck here seems to be. Probably CPU? More info screenshots attached. Also: If I want to have my pc be essentially a custom built (i.e. no remainding crumbs of influence by hp making my life slightly less comfortable :3 ) I figure all I need to do really is change the motherboard ? (& uninstall bloatware)

Ok so basically I am getting a good deal on a pc parts bundle that includes an fx 6300 as the cpu. I already own a 1650 (shortened) and im going to pair them together. Im sure there will be a bottleneck and the 1650 wont be up to full potential but how much bottleneck?

Good day, forum. (God I have no idea how to write these things) My brother intrigued me two days ago as he found an offer for a 700€ ROG STRYX 3070. Coincidentally, I considered upgrading from my Stryx GTX 1080 to a 3070. However he was like "Buh your CPU sucks, your PSU is sh*t, don't even bother wasting your money". Now I want to hear from the wise people. YOU. Below is information of what I do, and what parts my build has. The main quesiton here really is: Is this what you see below fit for a 3070, or should I upgrade more stuff? And if I were to just slot one of these boys in my PCI-E, are there any bottlenecks in my existing build? Thank you in advance, -RalphAlpha111 Budget (including currency): 1.000€ (flexible) Country: Austria Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: AAA games of 2020; incl. Watch Dogs Legion, DOOM Eternal, main usage goal: VR applications - VRChat, HL:A, light video editing for my dying youtube chanél Other details: CURRENT PARTS: MB: MSI B450 Tomahawk Max CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Cooling: Stock cooler (Wraith Stealth) Video Card: Stryx GTX 1080 PSU: Uh.. an old 700 W unit from 2011 I think. It was in an old pre-built Dell PC, which is now dismantled. GAMING PREFERENCE: 1080p - 120 FPS VR: Valve Index 120 FPS GOAL: Upgrading to a 3070 with little to no bottlenecks, getting recommendations as to what I'm going to need to upgrade/watch out for.

So I'm not sure how to test for this let alone find others who have, but I'm curious to see if my i7 6700K is bottlenecking my RTX 2080 TI. I recently upgraded from a GTX 1080 and obviously gaming performance is significantly better, but, i'm wondering if there is any bottleneck present, therefore meaning that i could be achieving even better performance with a more modern cpu like say an i9 9900 or something. i dont have extra money to spend on the system right now and i only have the 1 pc so im wondering if anyone else has ever tested this before. Monitor: Asus PG279Q 1440p 165Hz - likely not to change anytime soon

Hi there I have an FX-8350 8 core AMD CPU, 16 gb 1600mhz ram, gtx 960 4gb card. Currently having a few issues with fps. pretty much all games but focusing on battlefield 1. Im a solid 60+ fps 1080p on high - ultra but every now and then i get a drop in fps to 15ish then back up to 60+ again. I've ran everything through software etc and everything looks to be fine, temps, memory load etc. however the only thing i can see is the ram is pretty much all being used needing my file page. this surprised me so i increased the file page to 3gb pretty much and the problem is still here. i uninstalled graphics drives and re installed but still there. looking in the task manager nothing is running etc so really confused at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Any ideas ?

This chart is assumed to be for gaming builds - and not for professional video editing builds. If you want high frame rates for the GTX 1080, go with the i7 instead of the i5. AMD cards are excluded from this list, at the moment, due to the mining craze prices. On a low to mid-range budget, a stronger CPU matters more than expensive cooling or higher RAM. Recommended form factors are based on temperatures

Hi all, I'm after some advice for our school CCTV server. Setup: Hardware: Dell R510, 8gb ram (on average 4gb used), 12TB set to raid 1 storage (so we get great write speed), two gigabyte Nic's (only one is currently used to pull data from cameras) Software: Windows Server 2012, Luxriot Evo S Switches: Cisco 3750's Problem: The server and software works well and the ram, cpu doesn't seem to be straining under average load, but the video playback isn't as smooth as we'd like. The past few months I've been eliminating possible bottlenecks, which had led to my concluding its a network bandwidth issue. By my calculations, if I have 85 cameras feeding my server 4mb a second, I need at least 340mb of bandwidth. I obviously can't get that with a single gigabyte connection (it seems to hit 200mb and not go any further, as that's a limit for gigabyte connection). So my plan is to activate the other nic and have dual gigabyte to help with the bandwidth load from all the cameras. The problem is, I'm not sure the best way to go about this: Should I team up the ports on the Cisco switch? Or should I have half my cameras use 10.110.100.x and the other have use 10.110.101.x? What do you guys think? Thanks for any advice you could give.

Hello this is my first build and I am not sure if it's any good. I already have the motherboard, case and thermal compound and they cannot be changed now. My Goal: Gaming 60fps high to ultra settings Here is the build link:https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/ch2mXP Desktop multitasking Media Creation None. I want to play fortnite, no mans sky, Minecraft, yu-gi-oh duel links and universe sandbox 2 Are there any bottlenecks and can I cheapen up on anything without drastically decreasing performance? THX!!!

Kinda underwhelming cpu for 1080 I know. I built this computer kinda janky, not really research it first but it’s doing its job properly because I tends to play more esports game or multiplayer. That being said I also want to play a triple A single player game following the releases of sotr and metro exodus. The bottlenecks seems more apparent in those types of games Anyway I think it’s time to upgrade, I don’t have any ideas what’s the general cpu that can maximize the 1080 with a reasonable prices and preferably more than 4 cores any suggestions?

I’m rocking a FX-8120 @ 4.2GHz, 16gb ram, and a AMD 7950. So I was wondering if I should do a new build, wait for AMD to be competitive in GPUs or if I should just blow my load on a RTX 2080. ~$1000 is the budget. What do you guys think is the best move?

Hello everyone! To start off, I have an Acer Nitro 53 (2019) Gaming Laptop. Core i5 8300h, an NVIDIA GTX 1050Ti graphics card, a 256 Gb SSD internal + 500gb external ssd over usb 3.1, plus 32gb RAM (upgraded from 8). Screen is 120hz panel (self upgraded from 60hz panel). My main issue is gaming. I kid you not, in the new Modern warfare at mid/high settings, my graphics card sits at a cool 5-10% usage, RAM at 20% MAX and my CPU is almost always pegged at 100%. The bottleneck is just killing my performance in almost every AAA title. I’m not sure what to do about this. I ALWAYS run with the laptop plugged in and all setting are set to max performance instead of stupid power saver (thanks laptops) but it’s been an issue since day one. I plan on building a tower PC eventually but in the mean time, does anyone have any suggestions that might help me on this? Thank you in advance!!!

So, I got a question, which pc rig runs games with higher fps? AMD A-10 7870K with an NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1050 (Not bottlenecked) or AMD A-10 7870K with an NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1650 (Bottlenecked by 26%). So, GTX 1650 is better than 1050, but because it got bottlenecked by the CPU, is it still any better? Or is it worse? Or the same? Thanks.

Hello guys, I'm from India. So I have built a PC last year with the following config: AMD Ryzen 5 1400 with stock AMD Wraith Stealth cooler 16 Gigs of DDR4 RAM (GSkill 2 sticks of 8GB clocked at 2400MHz) nVIDIA GTX 1060 6GB gfx card Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD (OS drive) Seagate 1TB HDD (Other partitions) WD Elements 2TB portable HDD (mainly vlogging videos and rendered stuffs) CoolerMaster xtreme 600W PSU Thermaltake ATX cabinet BenQ GL2460 24'' LED monitor Redragon Asura gaming keyboard + Centophorus gaming mouse Creative SBS 2.1 stereo audio So far the system is going good, however at times I'm noticing that my monitor turns black for a moment (a sec or two) and then comes back as if nothing has happened, yet to figure out why... My primary use is moderate gaming of all kinds, video editing, doing office stuffs through AWS and the usual web browsing, music and watching/streaming videos. Any suggestions that would help me avoid any bottlenecks specially while rendering 4k content and gaming AAA titles? Thanks!

So lately i upgraded some of my computer parts. from the specs below Processor: 15-6400 GPU: Gigabyte 1050ti RAM: 16gb Ballitstics sports DDR4 Power supply: vs550 and i upgrade the following Motherboard: Asus prime b250M-a GPU: PAlit Geforce GTX 1070ti Powersupply: seasonic 620W so far i was able to play AC: Origins at ultra high 1080 around 70 to 80 fps average, and below are other scores i got during benchmarks. some people say my score specially in unigine benchmark heaven and valley. so not sure if my cpu is bottleneck in some of this benchmarks. because of that i was planning to upgrade my CPU from i5-6400 to i7-8600k, but is it a decent upgrade? i'm not sure if there is such a thing called motherboard bottleneck? cause i know my board can't support overclocking so i'm not sure if my board is holding back my cpu and gpu or something? Thanks in advance guys. appreciate all the help. cheers!

I've currently Got an i7 2600 with a MSI GTX 1060 6G oc, as well as 8GB DDR3 Ram and The CPU Bottlenecks like crazy..whether playing the Witcher 3, Assassins Creed Origins,Fallout 4 or even Far Cry 4 at the resolutions of 1080p, 720p or lower..with the identical poor performance. The game would occasionally freeze for a second and carry on like normal..60 FPS would drop down to 14 FPS in that moment it freezes..i wouldn't have a problem with it, if it was occasional but unfortunately its not..I had a GTX 750 before and i had no issues like these...Now my decision is to upgrade to an i5 8400 CPU. If any one could consider what else could be at fault other than my CPU i would be glad to hear it. Thanx!

I cant really find any benchmarks on the I5 3470 but does anyone know if it'll bottleneck the 1060 massively or not at all? If so should i upgrade to an I5-3570k if it helps to remove the cpu bottleneck? thanks

So right now I have a shitty computer which i use for gaming specs: CPU: i3-2100 GPU: GTX 1050 2GB MOBO: ECS H61H2-M2 I was planning on upgrading my CPU to an i7-6700K. But I found this website where you can calculate the bottleneck and FPS in some modern games of certain hardwares( https://pc-builds.com ) ; so I decided to calculate the bottleneck of my current PC (i3-2100) and it gets around 33% I was actually surprised that I was getting around 70-150 fps on low settings. But when i calculated the bottleneck of the CPU i was planning to upgrade on (i7-6700k) paired with my GTX 1050 it showed a bottleneck percentage of a 100% But I quickly checked how many FPS would I get if I would have this CPU and it showed that i would get around 180+ fps on low setting on Rainbow Six: Siege. So my question is does bottleneck really have an impact on the FPS; or should I just buy a CPU which has lower bottleneck? Thanks for your time! would love to get some help! :)
