Hi everyone I saved up all my money to purchase my dream desktop and built one today. But my motherboard Asus Prime Z270-A has a boot device led(Green) and not working. Motherboard's led is lighting up but case fans and cpu fan that are directly connected to my motherboard do not spin or work and my case does not have led light around the power button. I made sure my 8pin and 24pin connectors are connected to the motherboard and PSU. But anything other than motherboard onboard led is not working My build was i7-7700k CRYORIG - H7 49.0 CFM CPU Cooler Asus - PRIME Z270-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard G.Skill - Trident Z RGB 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory Samsung - 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive EVGA - GeForce GTX 1080 8GB Superclocked Gaming ACX 3.0 Video Card NZXT - S340 Elite (White) ATX Mid Tower Case SeaSonic - FOCUS Plus Gold 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

I recently Purchased a new Graphics card for my PC, i upgraded from an Radeon HD 7900 series to a EVGA GTX 1080 SC2. after many issues with the new driver destroying my windows, I completely reinstalled windows. my PC works Fine with my old card, but with my new one it just freezes with a white circle of dots underneath the Gigabyte logo while booting. the only way i can get out of the screen is by manually shutting down my computer. Any help is appreciated, as i am currently heading towards day 3 of this Problem. System Specs Intel I-7 4770k 16 GB DDR3 (Old) Radeon HD 7900 series GPU (new) EVGA Gtx 1080 SC2 Motherboard- Z87-hd3 Gigabyte

So my friend built his fresh Ryzen 1600 system, and booted it but forgot to plug in the power to the GPU for the first time. Obviously, stupid mistake. But now, it wont turn off, even with a 10 second power button hold-down so he can get power to the GPU. What should he do? FYI: Specs are as follows Ryzen 5 1600 16GB DDR4 Asrock AB350 Pro4 R9 280X (He will be replacing soon) 240GB SSD

If you have successfully built a mini-ITX computer that uses Windows 7 and boots from a Samsung 950 Pro M.2 SSD (that contains the Windows 7 OS), then let's talk. An email to Asus asked: "Is there a problem with using the ASUS Z170I Pro Gaming motherboard when the boot drive is a Samsung 950 Pro M.2 512 GB SSD (MZ-V5P512BW) that will contain the 64 bit version of Windows 7 loaded onto the M.2 drive" To which Asus replied: "In order to boot Windows 7 from NVMe SSD, your system must support loading UEFI drivers when the Compatibility Support Module is enabled. My recommendation in order to get your M.2 device as a boot drive is to use Windows 8.1 or 10" Surely this arrangement - with at least one manufacturer's miniITX motherboard - has been accomplished successfully - right?

Hi guys! So I am in serious need of some help with my laptop, I bought an Acer ES1-512 like 2 years ago now, so the warranty run out and only now is when the problem came up - so no suggestions on returning it to manufacturer to get this fixed . The 500GB HDD that was in there stopped working (makes a clicky noise - which I don't remember what it means, if it's just dead or one of the screws came loose or whatever). When it boots it just comes up with a black screen and a image of a hard drive with a magnifying glass and text saying ''no bootable device''. So my first thought was - Ok let's get in to the bios and change the boot sequence so I could pop a win 7 install dvd and maybe reinstall windows. Well after the splash screen (with acer logo) it goes straight to the missing hard drive screen. Also on the splash screen it doesn't show you what to press to get in to the bios. I have tried F2 F9 F10 F12 and Del buttons as those are the most common buttons that require pressing to get into the bios (or atleast from my experience). But anyway I had a spare laptop HDD (160GB) so I installed a copy of win 7 32bit on to the spare 160GB HDD, and replaced them coz I figured maybe if it has a bootable device with windows on there then it will skip that screen, and still nothing. So I have no idea what to do now and I'm kind of stuck. I was wondering if anybody else knew what to do. If not then I guess I will just have to pawn it off on eBay as spares or repairs, which would be a shame because it's a decent laptop and I could really need to for my college work. Thanks to whoever reads this and takes a minute or two to pop down a suggestion! - Pascal

Hello everybody, I recently built a new system from an old one. I bought an Asus Strix GTX 1070 and a Kingston UV400 240GB SSD. And I obviously made a fresh Windows install. The problem I'm having is that sometimes while booting (even before showing Windows logo) it restarts itself from nowhere. Then it works perfectly, and have no issues for some boot ups. But then the problem appears again I don't know if I should be worried but I think it's not normal. Also when I bought my case, it came with a faulty RESET SW (maybe that? but it's strange that I don't have any problem after that restart). SPECS: MOBO: Intel DH61CR CPU: Intel i7 2600K @ 3.4 Ghz Cooler: CM Hyper 212 Evo Graphics Card: Asus Strix GTX 1070 SSD: Kingston UV400 240GB SSD HDD: Samsung SpinPoint HD204UI 5400 rpm 2TB Case: Corsair 300R (Which have a faulty RESET SW) PSU: EVGA SuperNova 750 P2 Thank you guys.

I was using my phone on low battery and plugged it in. I continued to use it but realized that I was losing more power than I was charging because I plugged it into my computer. I locked the phone and was going to let it charge but it woke up to tell me that the battery was critically low. That was enough to make it power down. Now I cant get it to power back on properly. I let it sit for a while then tried taking the battery out and holding the power button, safe mode, recovery mode and nothing works. I get past the galaxy s4 splash screen, the Samsung splash screen but when I get to the Verizon splash screen it sits there for a sec then the screen dims and then shuts itself off. Thanks for the help!

Hi, im new to this forum and kinda new to PC builds as well. Love this channel and find it real helpful. Now enough of the introduction... Basically i want to boot windows 10 onto the PC like a normal person would, however im wondering if you can boot it off a portable hard drive instead of a flash drive? Also if you can can use the same windows 10 creation tool to create the media used for the boot and store it on the portable hard drive? Is it the exact same concept with a portable hard drive as it is with a flash drive??? Cheers

So I woke up and went to turn on my PC this morning and I got nothing when I hit the power button. I made sure the switch on the PSU was on, and I made sure all the plugs were good and getting power, still nothing. I tried pressing the power button at different angles just in case the button was physically broken. The only thing I got to happen was if I hold the power button for maybe 5 - 7 seconds release, then press it again, the fans start to spin for maybe half a second then nothing, My PC has been working normally up until now and I hadn't changed anything since I powered it off last night. The only differences is that I changed the power supply about a week ago. Any suggestions?

Please help. I'm new at building hackintoshes. I finished installation of El Capitan in unibeast and installed the drivers in multibeast, but I believe I installed the wrong drivers, because when I restart, after installing drivers, it won't boot. I see the apple logo and the loading bar, but it never makes it past that point. I don't know what to do.

So...a few weeks ago my pc didn't turn on, I tried to turn it on by unplugging the psu from the power outlet, reinstalling the gpu, and after a few tries it worked. Today I left my pc on for about 30 minutes came back and it was off, tried to turn it on but only the gpu leds and fans were working, my mouse light was white (it is red when my pc is on) and my keyboard's lights wouldnt turn on (the same symptoms as the time before). I tried to do the same thing as the other time but no results. I'm guessing it might be a psu or problem. According to my motherboard, all the components work fine but my cpu wont work and the cooler fan wont spin. Here's a video which might show you what I'm talking about. specs: CPU: i7 6700 Motherboard: Asus z170i pro gaming Ram: Kingston Fury DDR4 2133mhz 16gb GPU: MSI gtx 960 4G Storage: Samsung 850 evo PSU: Silverston sx500 lg

So I have a problem with my LAN network; I built myself a new PC that boots and logs in with a key in about 2 sec to my desktop. I really love this about my new pc but now every time that I access the internet through my browser the LAN-connection drops out (still says it's connected) then it says there's a problem (normal icon but with yellow triangle) and then it disconnects and automatically reconnects and from there on it works (although most of the time at about a third of the speed). I should probably mention I have a PowerLAN which is fairly new so I doubt that's the case. How do I get the LAN connection to keep staying on so I can instantly start browsing? Thanks in advance.

Ive just installed windows 10 on brand new built PC. But it freezes after a minute or so. When I try to turn on pc, sometimes when loading windows, sometimes while trying to "get started" (writing pc's users name, connecting to internet, setting password). If I manage to go through that and pc wont freeze then it will freeze when I log in to desktop - the mouse stops and I cant open anything. Ive tried resetting windows three times - first two times it froze mid installation of windows, third time, it managed to install, but in the process of "getting started" it froze again. I have reinstalled windows a couple of times, but still the same problem. Any ideas? EDIT: By the way, I was installing from USB into 120 GB SSD

Hi there, My newly updated windows 10 "Dream Machine" has been waking itself up at 2:14:37am for "unknown" reasons as specified by windows event logs. I have attempted to change the auto updating times, adapter settings in which devices can turn on the pc (ie. moving the mouse, keyboard, network adapters, etc...) As a result of all this, nothing has changed, and me, as well as the inhabitants of the house are moment shy of just throwing the whole F****** computer out the nearest window. I don't know about you but I don't really enjoy having 12 fans throttle from 0-3500rpm and every single LED having a rave at 2 am. Much appreciated to the person who can solve my problem, any suggestions, please <3

Hi, I just received this Blackberry Z10 and it had some kind of file system error. As I refreshed the phone using the BlackberryLink it started working fine, but I didn't put any SIM card in it as I was using it for music listening only. But recently my friend asked if he could borrow the phone and when he turned it off using the "off button", the LED indicator started flashing red, 2 flashes...Pause...4 flashes and it loops like this forever. I'm not sure if something is wrong with the memory chip or with software itself. If anyone could help me I would be very happy.

My CPU is an AMD a10-6700, and today i tried cleaning the heatsink. When I took off the heatsink, the cpu was attached to it, so I removed it from the heatsink by twisting it a little bit(found a video on YT on how to remove it). I checked the pins carefully on the CPU and NONE of the pins were moved, or even tilted. When I put everything back on, it wont boot at all. All the fans on my gpu, cpu cooler and other fans are working, but the monitor and tvs cant really detect any signal. Several methods I tried: Removing and reinstalling my gpu, removing every single cable in the motherboard and reattaching it. Using a different monitor(tv and hdmi), using the motherboard for monitors and tv instead of the GPU (i tried both several times). One thing I did not do is put a new thermal paste, because frankly i did not have any at the moment. But I highly doubt that would prevent my pc from booting. Another thing is that I did not feel any static at all, and I did most of the stuff on top of a table and not a carpet. But static is a very high possibility, although I cant do anything to test it. Its really late and Im crazy frustrated and just tired. Please if you have any solutions, that would be greatly appreciated. p.s. I have attached photos of my rig, cpu, motherboard, heatsink and etc.

I am about to build myself a workstation with the Samsung 950 PRO 512 GB NVMe M.2 SSD. I am planning to boot from this super fast drive. However, I am not sure about how to do so. Would it work if I just took a Windows 8/10 disk, booted from it and installed Windows straight onto the 950? Would I have to do BIOS/UEFI updates? If it is more complicated, where can I find step-by-step resources on how to boot from NVMe SSDs?
