I have got a problem with my laptop (Lenovo LOQ 16APH8 82XUOO57MH) on every other boot. Every single time I boot after shutting down my laptop using windows 11, the laptop tries to boot, the screen goes off and I can't press anything to change this. If I then shut down the laptop using the power button, and restart it, it boots up fine. I have noticed that on that first boot every time I can not go to the boot selector screen, the second boot always works in regards to that. I think this has happened because of a driver update, because I did not have this issue at first. I have searched online for potential things to troubleshoot, but I could not find anything that seemed to help me. Also on the first boot it does NOT show a loading circle, but on second boot it does. I would gladly appreciate if anyone wants to help, because this is an annoying issue.

I have an Old gaming PC, and a new gaming PC (Specs below). In my old pc, I have windows on a small SSD, and my games on a HDD. In my new system, I have just one large SSD. I physically moved the HDD from the old PC to the new PC, and transferred some steam game files to large SSD drive. The HDD has been installed in the new PC for a couple of months. I have played games from the large SSD and also had updates. As far as I know, my new PC hasn't actually done anything on the HDD except for "Copy". Today, I moved the HDD back to the old PC, because I want to uninstall everything. When I boot up, the screen is black and it says "A2" in the bottom right corner of the screen, which relates to an issue with a storage drive. I unplugged the HDD, booted the old PC up and it worked fine, straight into windows. Plugged the HDD back in and again the A2 error. The HDD is preventing 'posting' in the old pc. What in the actual fruit cake is going on? Pls help My intention is to delete things so If I end up wiping the drive that's not so bad. My pc in the last 3 days has been having bootting issues or ram issues. I'm not even sure what to call it. My pc when booting up would keep doing cpu and dram lights. One time it did vga and dram then went to only dram. Now when I was calling my friend on my pc it suddenly shuts down and says only dram. I troubleshooted it and this is what I found/did. I used one ram at a time to troubleshoot. I was able to get it to boot up to windows with both sticks. [Would later not be able to boot] Sometimes it just boots up and goes to windows. It's like a ramdom chance it works. Putting in and out Cmos doesn't help please help. This was my dream pc.

Hi there, I've recently got myself a secondhand QNAP TS-251+ 2 bay NAS that was no longer being used from work. Since it has been sitting in storage for some time, the original power supply was lost, so I picked up a compatible 12v 5a power supply from ebay. I've found that the NAS only boots when there are no drives connected. Each time I connect the drives when prompted to by the setup guide the NAS seems to lose power. The drive that I'm trying to install is a WD red 4TB drive. I've had a look at the listed power input specs from the sticker on the NAS and online and it says that it takes 12v 5a input. So far, I've tried two different 12v 5a power supplies, both resulting in the same issue. I managed to update it's firmware to version 5.0.1.2425 but can't install any drives. Would anyone know if this is likely due to the non-genuine power supply or if there is potentially a problem with the NAS or the drive?

So to start off I'm new to PC building I had help from a friend with picking the parts and installing them but didn't have a USB with windows on, after now getting on I unplugged all my HDDs so I can install onto just an SSD, it went through the setup and all looked good until I removed my USB and restarted and was met with a brief black screen with _ on and then the options for boot menu / bios settings etc. When selecting boot menu I can see my SSD shows the menu: "Windows Boot Manager (WD_BLACK SN850X 1000GB)" "WD_BLACK SN850X 1000GB" but selecting either of these is met with the same "_" screen. I contacted my friend who advised to try get back into the windows installer now be reinserting the USB but now I can't even get to windows setup, we tried removing the battery from the motherboard to reset the bils, tried every combination of Legacy Only / UEFI Only on the Storage Boot Option Control but I've got nowhere in 6 hours, google is a minefield and gives me so many different options I'm even more confused. Attached are some relevant lictures but I'm honestly so clueless and my first PC build turned into a nightmare quickly..

Long story short I had to reset my bios settings, in doing so it reset my boot drive. Now I can't select the correct boot drive and have to go to "boot override" every time I boot my computer up for it to boot to windows properly. For my selection of boot drives it gives me windows boot manager and two SATA connected drives which both do not boot to windows. How do I make it so I have the option to select the right boot drive and do not have to go into my bios and do a boot override every time I turn on my computer? Also why is my labeling my storage devices 1, 5 and 6 when I only have 3 storage devices? 5 is the correct boot drive which I would like to select.

This is highly unususal. My pc was in a boot loop. I turned the pc off , took one ram stick out and it boots fine. I tuned the pf off, placed the other ram stick in place and it boots fine. After thtat, if I turn the pc off, It enters the boot loop when I turn it on again HW used: CPU Type QuadCore Intel Core i5-4590S, 3300 MHz (33 x 100) Motherboard Name Gigabyte GA-H97-Gaming 3 Module Name Kingston 9905403-518.A00LF Memory Speed DDR3-1600 (800 MHz) Module Size 8 GB (2 ranks, 8 banks)

I just bought my pc parts, got them all together and I am having a nightmare making my pc work. I had issues getting to the bios and getting my keyboard to work. When I finally fixed that and got to the Bios, it didnt work at all, but I got to work the boot options and got to install windows. Finally when I had about 60% of the installation done, it screwed up and now I am having so much issues! When I turn it on, the "asus logo" doesnt even show up, so I restart It and in 1 out of 15 attempts I can get in the american megatrends logo to go to setup, and when I press f1 to enter setup I get a black screen. Right now, most of the times I turn it on I will get a black screen followed by my monitor turning on for 2 seconds and then off again. Please help! I have tried everything and searched a lot on reddit but right now I have no idea how to move on!!! I have an amd 5600x, 16gb ram, 3060ti and asus a520m A II. I think the motherboard could be corrupt, but it doesnt make sense since every component is 4 days old. If you need any more explanation I am open to keep adding comments.

Spec's Mobo is a Asus sabertooth z77,CPU is a i7 3770k, PSU is power spec 500w,GPU is gtx 1050,ram is 20gb of Samsung ddr3,q cpu cooler is a hyper 212 evo, SSD is a adata su635 (yes ik it's cheap and unrealiable) 5 Seagate barracuda 2 tb hdd's .... This is gonna be kind of long winded and I apologize in advance just covering everything I've done and tried so my issues started when I went to fix the wire mess that someone had made before me because I bought this PC off fb market place and they didn't bother cable managing at all. it had windows 11 when I got it everything worked great no issues haven't had any issues till I went to cable manage. I went thru made everything look nice and clean made sure no cables were too tight everything was nice and snug plugged in back where it's supposed to be. I go to boot back up and windows 11 has a issue and it tried fixing itself but couldn't I tried all the recovery tools in windows 11 and nothing worked the PC refused to load windows 11. So I thought maybe my ssd died or maybe I didn't let the PC boot down fully enough and it corrupted the data even tho it was off completely when I started. I tried reinstalling windows 11 and it says it's not compatible with my PC even tho I was just on it so I decided I'll just install windows 10 instead and avoid that headache. when I install windows 10 I let it do it's thing the only thing I install on the computer is my wifi adapter driver I let the PC download updates. then I click restart and update PC restarts boots up goes to boot into windows does the loading screen then the screen just goes black and my PC stays on (or the windows loading screen will appear it'll do the circle loading icon and then freeze after 1 minute). I thought maybe it's my GPU somehow so when the black screen appears and PC is still on I hit Ctrl windows key shift and b to see if it makes a sound and it doesn't which means windows is not even loading. thought maybe I killed this cheap shitty SSD that's why Windows keeps freezing I'll install on another hdd so I tried one of my 2tb barracudas still the same issue. so I take all my ram out only put one stick back in switch gpu's to a gtx 950 just Incase it is my GPU somehow. I switch PSU to my friends evega 650 watt power supply just Incase it was the psu going bad I have reset the bios updated the bios redid all the wiring again making sure everything was nice and snug but not to snug. leaving only one hdd plugged in it at a time I've reset every hdd I have trying to install windows loosing terabytes of data in the process just trying to solve this issue. I've tried a different USB stick to create the windows 10 install media even and I'm booting thru uefi .....I don't get what I'm doing wrong or forgetting to trouble shoot but I have tried every possibility I can think of it has to be windows that causing this issues...I can install Linux and it works just fine I can't connect to the internet since Linux doesn't support my wifi adapter and I have no way to plug into Ethernet but it boots into Linux just fine with no issues

Hello! I recently got a new SSD to replace my Hard-drive as my boot drive. I figured it'd be an easy windows install and boot. But uhh no. I installed windows 10 on the SSD via USB flash drive, there were some slight changes from what I found on online tutorials, like the fact that it never asked me to put in a key, but it was doing stuff abd was definitely putting something on my ssd. When I went into my bios, it did not pick up the SSD as a boot device however, and when I disconnected my HDD, it said "Boot Device Not Found." Am I missing something?

Hello, I just bought a ASUS PRIME B550M-A and a Ryzen 9 5900x after I installed the motherboard and the CPU the computer did not boot.

My Gigabyte B550 AORUS pro-p rev 1 motherboard does not boot into the OS installed on my NVME drive. It displays the AORUS logo momentarily and then blanks out to reboot again. So when I try to reinstall Win 10 from a bootable USB drive, It does not recognize Win 10 on it. Upon hitting F12, I get the menu for the bootable usb drive. I hit enter to select the option to install, it shows briefly that its processing (flashing USB light) and then blank screen, to boot up again into the boot menu, giving me this continuous loop. The motherboard BIOS settings were set to default - CSM, UEFI and fTPM all enabled. It still did not work ( as in the above boot loop), when I disabled them all. Also, I updated the BIOS to the recommended stable F14, but the issue still persists and have tried all the USB ports without success. I switched the Power supply and to rule it out. The RAM was tried on the other motherboards and its fine as well. The same bootable USB drive and the above NVME drive works fine, with defualt BIOS settings, on my MSI and Asus mobo. I RMA-ed it to Gigabyte, they said that it works fine with multiple configurations - no visibility on what they did. I am at my wits-end frankly. The only thing I haven't ruled out is the PC case and that it might be potentially shorting the board - that it shorts the mobo component such that it cannot go beyond booting on OS on the NVME and USB drive. Any thoughts/suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you for your attention and time. OZooHA

Hi, I can't figure out why my PC turns off randomly. It gives the error code 'WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR'. PC boots up fine, but after what seems a random time each time turns off and gives me a blue screen. Also the PC doesn't boot when it's off the first try, I need to hit the power button, then the reset button and then it boots. Also when it's in between the power button and reset button press a red VGA light lights up on my MB. I looked up that code and learnt that it is a hardware error. Giving the VGA light was on I checked the GPU first. Reseated GPU, tried different PCIE slots, PC boots fine (with weird start up sequence) but turns off randomly. checked my power supply, GPU, RAM and motherboard power connectors, everything seems fine. I found out Steam was causing 'an' issue when it booted up (wich resulted in the blue screen), so I reinstalled it and now Steam works fine. The errors are less frequent. Only the blue screen problem perseveres and turns off my PC at random times. Really annoying to lose files and progress on work when your computer shuts off randomly. (I had to write this twice because it turned off) I have no clue what could be causing this, all help is appreciated. Greets, Pj

I built my first PC MB: MSI MAG B550M BAZOOKA GEN 5 READY CPU: 5 5600 GPU: GIGABYTE RADEON RX 6600 8GB PSU: SEGOTEP 600W GOLD M.2: AUROS 7000S GEN4 1TB USB: SanDisk 64gb (Media Creation Tool has changed it to 32gb) Everything seems to be working fine, no EZdebug light flickering except for the boot because I, obviously, haven't installed windows yet. I thought it would be an easy task, just stick the stick, f11, choose the USB and install. Unfortunately I have been facing many problems that no one seems to have. Let me start listing: 1- Blue screen. Not BSOD, though. Just a blue screen and then the computer turns itself off. 2- Orange screen with white vertical bars. Before that, it showed a horizontal line flickering as if it was waiting for input, but that was nothing. It didn't shut off the computer so I had to do it manually. And other similar problems, like doing anything but not getting me to boot. I could access the bios normally and change the settings. What I tried to supposedly fix it: -Changed the settings like to UEFI then CSM, disable security boot and so on. One of the fixes on MSI's website here couldn't work out with me because as I change the Win Configuration to UEFI, I cannot access the boot mode in order to change it to LEGACY/UEFI. Is there anything I have to change? -Used different ports. -Formatted the USB stick and reinstalled windows again. It works perfectly on my laptop and I don't think I have to use another one in order for that to be fixed. The Media Creation Tool already changes the format of the USB. -Updated the bios from A5 to AA0 (with the same USB). For more information: It doesn't show me the name of my USB stick, instead it's "UEFI USB Hard Disk: UEFI: Generic, parition1" which is not a hard disk, though. How did I know it's this one? When I take it out it disappears from the options. Also, my CPU speed is 3.5GHz which jumped to 4.45 on its own. My RAM's is 2400MHz. Could that be the problem that it's unable to find/recognize my USB, or could there be anything wrong with the components despite the fact that there's no lights on on the motherboard?

Hello! I have been having this issue for a couple days now and I have tried numerous of things to fix this issue but now Im getting desperate and now looking to you guys for help. The computer is having three different issues that randomly happen: - Most commonly the computer fans will turn on and turn off repeatedly until I forcefully shut off the computer. Of course this means no display. - The second thing it does is it sometimes turns on and DOESNT turn off, but there is no display on my monitor and my keyboard & mouse dont turn on - The third thing is if Im lucky it turns on, everything turns on and I can get into BIOS. I can not go any farther than that as it wont boot windows and instead just go black screen and turn my keyboard & mouse off. - To go with all of this, the computer doesnt actually "power off" either. After going into BIOS and exiting it, the computer fans will stay on for some reason and I will not have a display. Of course I have to forcefully shut it off. I did a lot of things I can do, which was; - Reset the CMOS battery - Reseated all cables in the system (psu, fans, the ssd stuff, and extras) - Tested PSU in another system (works perfectly fine) - Tested the two SSDs in another system (works perfectly fine) - Tested the GPU in another system (also works perfectly fine) - Wiped the main SSD of the computer (to remove windows 11) and did a fresh installation of Windows 10 - Reset all BIOS settings if I was lucky enough to get there - I removed each ram stick one by one and tested each one, neither ram sticks are the issue Computer Specs: Blaze 2 from Skytech Case: Skytech Blaze 2 Tempered Glass Case CPU Cooler: Wraith Stealth Cooler CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700 8-Core 3.2 Ghz Motherboard: ASROCK B450m/ac (Current BIOS version is 2.70) RAM: 32GB DDR4 3000MHz Graphics: Nvidia GEForce RTX 2060 6gb (Gigabyte) 500gb SSD PSU: 550 Watt 80 plus bronze certified (Gamdios Kratos M1) Video I recorded of the computer having a couple of the issues it was doing that was stated above: This computer was a prebuilt bought in 2020 by the Skytech company, we had issues with other things in this sytem but I was honestly not expecting to have this big of an issue. I am in desperate need of getting this fixed as I stream for a living. I dont have any technician near me as I live in the middle of no where and I really do not have the money to replace anything in the system. The big question I also have to ask is that, does the Motherboard need to be replaced? Its the only thing we came to for a solution as everything else seems to work. But at the same time Im worried I might have really poor BIOS settings or something. I also unfortunately only have a $90 budget max if I do need to replace something in this system

I guess this morning I woke up with less patience than normal, because when I noticed that 11th intel laptop was acting slower than normal. I decided to wipe the drives and start anew. I don't store anything critical on my laptop so it's fine that I reformatted the drives. I had done this process before on my desktop and was able to install 2 new SSDs without trouble. Yet, once I hit the reset button on my laptop and it went black, something felt off, because now the laptop will not detect any storage devices other that my usb used to install windows. I tried using the command line on the windows recovery tool, and that failed to find storage devices. I then put both of my laptop drives into my desktop, where it recognized them, and I was able to reformat them into ntfs and wipe them clean. After moving them back to my laptop where they were unable to be located. I tried to reset the BIOS options to the factory settings and the laptop didn't see the drives. I tried to install the chipset drivers on a usb and my laptop still did not recognize the either SSDs. Finally, I took it to geek squad, and they tried to get me to sign up for a credit card or spend $200, so I'm running out of options, and I need to get this fixed before my lan party friday. Any ideas are welcomed. Laptop model: Asus Tuf F17 FX706HE

I bought a new laptop, MSI GF63 Thin 10UC. I had added 2 TB SATA HDD afterwards. First everything was running smoothly, but later the drive stopped showing up in "This pc" and even in the diskpart, but it's detected in the BIOS menu.

Hi, I built my first tower last year and its been working without any issues. I have replaced my previous Ryzen 3100 CPU and stock cooler for a 5600x with a water cooler AIO however when I tried to boot I get stuck on a black screen with the motherboard logo and it wont go to windows. (Although I can get into the BIOS). I have reset BIOS to default, installed new windows installation media onto a USB and removed my M.2 and SSD however this just gets me stuck on a black screen with the windows logo instead. Any help would be appreciated as I am abit incompetent when it comes to PC software. Thanks
