So after gaming I checked gpu temp with speccy. It was 43°C as usual I opened aorus engine and it froze. Tried task manager to shit it down. The cpu usage was 0% while memory usage was about 24%. Was kind of strange. So I tried to end aorus engine and it didn't work. Then I tried to shut down but it kept shutting down. I went to shower and got back..it was still shutting down. So I shut it down via powerbutton. Then tried to restart thinking it would go into bios as it always does when problems appear. But this scren came..I tried a button and shortly after my keyboard and mouse didn't work. I tried other usb ports without succes. So I can 't do anything now except maybe rest Cmos. I've tried other keyboard and mouse also didn't work.Tried to reset bios via Cmos and it did work. But as I loaded a saved bios profile the "Reboot and select proper boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key" reappeared. Is the SSD boot drive dead? Edit: problem solved in a weird way

Hi all, I recently build a brand new pc and left for holiday for a week, it worked perfectly fine booted and I installed windows on it. After my return, I played a full day on it and left it on overnight to download some games. At midnight I went to check if my pc was downloading all the games. The pc would not display any outputs so I proceeded to turn it off, it wouldn't respond to a normal shutdown so I proceeded to force shut down using the PC power button. When I attempted to power it on nothing worked and would not want to turn on. In the morning I gave it a shot again and this time the fans and water pump were spinning but the gpu (Founder edition) G light would not light up. My PC wouldn't boot to windows and would not want to force shut down. Out of desperation I turned of the PSU in order to shut down the PC before I went to school. Could someone please help me? I want to try clearing CMOS and giving a shot and booting it again when I come back from school. I wanna also trouble shoot the GPU on my brothers system to check if that works and maybe later the PSU. Hi, I just build my new pc and I have a question because building my computer I tried Booting by I just got a black screen. I tried again and then managed to get to the BIOS so I thought everything was ok but when I tried again before downloading Windows but I got the black screen again. My Mobo has easy debugging lights and it showed a problem with the GPU so I put my old GPU in my new PC and I managed to get the bios but later I also got the black screen. Finally, I tried putting my old boot drive and it told me that the files were corrupted and refused to boot or go the bios. So I do not know if anything is broken or if it just is a bug. I would like to nought if you have any ideas or if you know what is wrong. One time, I was playing a youtube video and suddenly the computer hangs. And the blue screen popped up and it says: your pc ran into a problem, we'll collect the data and restart it for you. It reached 100% and it just stops like that for hours. I figured I would have to turn them off manually. But when I continue to windows and type my password, the blue screen appears again. After several loops, when I turn on my computer it just says Repairing disk errors, this might take over an hour to complete. But it took waaay longer than an hour, 6 hours or more and still no progress. But sometimes it shows this blue screen where I can troubleshoot the computer and open up command prompt. I have tried to do the tutorial that I found on youtube, step by step and it still didn't work. So the computer is on the state where it's diagnosing everytime I try to run it. If someone has the answer or any suggestions that could lead the advancement of this specific problem, it would mean a lot to me. Thank you for reading my complain letter, hope you have a great day. My computer specs: i7 2600 3.4 Ghz, 8GB Ram ddr3, Gtx 1060 3GB, 550 Watt 80+ psu, h61-c motherboard

Hello. For my own amusement, I'm upgrading my Socket 775 with a Q9550, new RAM and an SSD. Short version: The problem I'm running into is that the Q9550 will boot into Windows 10 only once. If I reboot, it locks up at Windows 10 logo (no loading animation). When I reboot from that, It gets stuck at logo with the message "Preparing automatic repair". I've had it run over night to try and wait it out without result. Long version: The motherboard is an Abit IP35-E. With Bios version 12, it has worked perfectly fine, running an E2160 at 3.4GHz without any problems. When I first installed the Q9550, it wouldn't even post, so I upgraded the Bios to v18 which is the latest official version. After that, I could boot... once, and then ran into the problem described above. I reinstalled the E2160, and now windows boots and performs an automatic repair. Then I plugged in the Q9550 once again. It boots into Windows but it gets stuck again on reboot. Resetting CMOS doesn't help. Unplugging the drive, and booting from Win10 USB also locks up at logo. Things I have noticed running the Q9550 Windows task manager performance tab says it's still an E2160 with two cores. (BIOS identifies the correct fsb/multiplier combo tho) HW Monitor shows only two cores, CPUTIN idle temps around 100C with cores at 25C, where the E2160 has both CPUTIN and Cores at around 30-35C idle. Do you knowledgeable people have any idea about what's going on here? Thanks /B

Won't boot in 64 bit : Maximus VIII Impact System specs: Mobo: Maximus VIII Impact cpu: 6700k Skylake RAM: Dominator platinum ddr4 2x16GB 3000MHZ GPU: GT240 Hello all! Just completed a new build and haven't been able to install windows 7,8.1,10 in 64 bit without getting a bsod screen, just when the installation boots on windows logo The Bsod screen is the following: 0xc000021a and then when it gets to a booting loop it changes to Critical_process_DIED Bsod I have no problems on post... just the booting of any usb or dvd of windows 64bit. But I manage to run any 32 bit system and now running virtual box on win7 32 bit it boots any kind of 64 bit Dvd from windows!! And I have been going through mobo settings: clear cmos button cms on/off; boot secure - other Os/windows uefi; Fast boot - on/off; Load efi from usb drives; xhci- On/off Optimised defaults; Sata set to ahci; 1 Ram stick; Boot as Uefi or non UEFI Unplug battery from mobo Same bsod comes up. I also have tried all windows f8 boot options and all end up with the blue screen. I also have updated the bios and same thing... If there is something like virtual box that can load a windows image in64 bit into the bios my problems would be solved. Or another way I can load a 64bit OS into a HDD or ssd with the asus drives in it. Will appreciate all the help as I'm getting a cancer from it Also been on and on with it for days trying to find a solution even with asus mail support and other places on the web.

Hello. I recently bought a new computer without an OS on it because via DreamSpark I got windows for free. So I made a bootable usb flash drive following a tutorial on youtube. I plugged the usb drive in my PC, booted it up pressing F12. On the boot menu selected the usb flash drive, pressed enter and... nothing. Trying out different usb ports didn't work so my bootable usb doesn't work. I have had many issues with tech stuff lately so now I just want to buy a windows DVD and install that because i'm tired of things not working. But here's my question. As i'm looking on this site to order online (dutch site since i'm from Belgium) in the description it says you need another windows installed to 'upgrade' to windows 8.1, but like I said, I have nothing. So can I just buy the bloody disc and install windows or what do I have to do to get it all running? I don't want to spend 120 Euro on windows if it won't work either so please help! Carlo

My PC boot problem The Problem About 75% of the time, when my PC boots, there is a problem. Everything is slow, all the animations stutter, the sound stutters, the mouse stutters and has tremendous lag, it's like the computer doesn't have enough processing power to even use windows. I have put an extensive description of the problem and when it occurs neatly in a document here. Thanks in advance, J0kador

Ok so i have this old pc and i thought i'd mount in on a piece of wood. I tested it before destroying it and it was running like a charm. I screwed the mobo and connected everything else just to ckeck if the pc was running and this happens every time i try to do so again. It starts , led on , bleeps , runs for 5 or so seconds and then shuts down . I removed and replaced the battery , but nothing. All cables are in . Then i disconnected everything and left only the 20-pin connector ( old i know),power button cable and the 4-pin connector and it still did the same thing. But after removing the 4 pin connector it started working! Where is the problem and how can i fix it??

Hi, I've had occasional problems with boot with my Hero board. Occasionally, after my computer shutdown, I turn it back on and it comes with the boot screen with the ROG Logo and "Please press delete or F2 to enter UEFI BIOS" and then it freezes and never boots into Windows. This only happens occasionally (about 1/10) of the time, but it can be really annoying and I'd like to see if I can fix it. System Specs: Asus ROG Maximus VII Hero Intel Core i7 4790k @ 4.0GHz turbo 4.4GHz Corsair H75 Liquid Cooler 16GB G.Skill Trident X 2133MHz SDRAM 120 GB Crucial SSD (Windows 8.1 OS) and 1TB WD 7200 RPM HDD InWin 800 Watt PSU 2x NVIDIA Gtx 660's I have my BIOS updated to the latest version and also have all the Chipset and drivers (latest) installed. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Dautin

Whatup lovely people! Well... I'm kinda of screwed here, let me elaborate; So, I was watching the youtubez 4 days ago, decided to hop onto The Witcher 3, played for a bit (I dunno, maybe 10-15 minutes) and boom PC shuts down and I get ASUS Anti-surge was triggered...bla bla bla... faulty power supply unit! (btw that wasn't the first time I got it, but it wasn't frequent at all, happened maybe once or twice during the life time of this PC) Restarted and tried to run the game again, another ASUS Anti-surge appeared (after roughly the same time of playing), happened again (immediately after loading, the third time) and again... Played some Need For Speed Most Wanted 2012, black screen but no Anti-surge (no reboots), Naruto UNSR, black screen too... And at that moment, I realized... I'm fked up! Naturally, I swapped out the PSU with my old one and I got the same results... I didn't really game on it for the last 3 days, but I have done an AIDA64 stress test for 30+ minutes, no problems (checked everything, CPU, FPU, RAM, GPU, HDDs...) and also an OCCT GPU DX11 test for 3 freakin hours with no errors, except before that, I pressed the ON button to start it and I got the damned Anti-Surge message... Disabled Anti-surge in the BIOS, started getting reboots to black screens and no spinning fans (only thing I hear spinning is the hard drive and ofc PSU fan, nothing else nothing else seems to work) and even pink and green screens! lel... The card is an ASUS GTX660 (been running a slight overclock on it for like a year now, +120 core +160 mem +110 power limit, bought it 2 years ago) I habe de: - Intel Core i5 4670k - Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) 2133Mhz - ASUS Gryphon Z87 C2 mobo (C2 is the revision btw) - Corsair CX600 V2 PSU (46 amps on the 12v rail, 11.23 to 11.84 volts while doing the OCCT test, the rest of the rails are fine) I suspect this is the result of ESD (electrical static discharge) effect on my GPU, I was being careful not to touch any soldering points but I might have done it once or twice during cleaning, dunno, leaning heavily towards that conclusion, hopefully you guys could help me figure (possibly) a solution for this cuz right now no manny 2 buy a new card m8s :'(

Hello people First of all I have to say that if this is the wrong place then please move it! I had no idea where to put this. The problem I am having is that today I entered the BIOS in order to finally try to get myself a long term OC on my CPU and set my memory to it's appropiate speed (I had to load the defaults when I screwed over the BIOS a bit and haven't changed it since) plus see what else I could do. I ended up doing this: 1) OC to 4.0 Ghz (I know that it is small, but I wanted to climb slowly) 2) Set my Memory to 1866 Mhz so that I could use it as it is rated for. 3) Enable Intel Rapid boot modus (More on that later) 4) Enable Power on by double clicking the mouse (What can I say? I am lazy... ) 5) Set XMP memory profile to "Profile 1" 6) Set the memory enhance to "Extreme" After I saved everything went okay and the computer started again as it should. Only that the BIOS screen didn't show up... I restarted 5 times and it didn't show any of the times, but my boot is now 6 seconds from power on to the screen where you write in your password and another 8-9 before I am on my desktop/Screensaver So my problem is: I have a to fast boot which basically means that the boot option is not availible to me and if I in the future wanted to do anything there I can't So does anyone have a solution to my ridiculous fast boot problem?

I am recently running my system smoothly with a GA-X58A-UD3R 2.0 with BIOS version FE and Core i7 950 on the same system when I decided to upgrade to a Core i7 980X... When I have installed the new CPU (Core i7 980X), and turn the PC on, the system didn't boot up and there is no beep but all fans are spinning including the CPU fan then suddenly the system turns off, then turns on again, then off again, then on again with no exact time interval... I have check Gigabyte's website for compatibility document and i have found that my board support Core i7 980X since BIOS version FF so I have downloaded the BIOS file and successfully flash the BIOS to version FF using my previous CPU (Core i7 950)... Then, when i reinstalled the new CPU (Core i7 980X), the same thing happens and the system still not booting even to POST... I can't even try to upgrade to BIOS version FH because the one that i have downloaded on Gigabyte's website has an incompatible file size (2MB) because my system only accepts 1MB... If you could help me boot up my system, it would be great... Thanks in advance..! PC Setup: Intel Core i7 950 (old CPU - system is working fine using this CPU) Intel Core i7 980X (new CPU - system is not booting using this CPU) Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R 2.0 4GB Kingston 1333MHz (2x2GB) 2GB Palit 9600GT Sonic 256Bit SLI (2x1GB) 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm (2x500GB - 1TB usable via RAID0) 500W Cooler Master PSU BIOS version: FE flash to FF

Hey everyone, Just put my build together! I've been running of the integrated graphics for a while now since I was waiting for my graphics card to arrive and today she's finally here!!1 I opened up my case, got her in there, connected the cables and..... things are working? The thing is when I boot up the PC it appears to turn the fans, LEDs and stuff on like usual but then it shuts everything down and powers up again. By the second time powering up it seems to boot up fine. Any clue on what is happening? Thanks Build: ASUS Maximus VII Hero Intel i7 4790K Corsair H100i 8Gb of HyperX Beast RAM (2 sticks) 120Gb SSD & 1Tb HDD Corsair RM650 and the card that just arrived, Asus GTX780 DirectCU II OC 3GDDR5
