I recently got my hand on some second hand hardware. As you have probably read from the title already, I am experiencing some strange behavior... Specs are as follows: Intel Core i7 7700K Asus Strix Z270H Gaming/K1 1151 Asus ROG Strix 1070 Ti Samsung 850 EVO 500GB Seagate Barracuda 1TB Corsair TX650W Cryorig H5 Ultimate CPU cooler Corsair Vengeance ddr4 2x8gb 2666MHz All of the components are used. I first built the computer on top of a cardboard box to troubleshoot. Standard procedure. I was having trouble reaching BIOS but this was quickly resolved by simply reseating the ram. After this I was able to go into the UEFI and validate that all of the connected hardware was recognized. Cool. I then tried to install Windows but the installation process was continuously interrupted resulting in a corrupt install each time. This was when I first raised an eyebrow. In order to further troubleshoot I connected another SSD which had Windows previously installed. I load into Windows and I blue screen almost immediately. I tried rebooting a few times but would always crash either before loading in or shortly thereafter. Needless to say I tried resetting BIOS multiple times in order to resolve this, making sure the settings stuck. It would not work. I cleared CMOS, updated BIOS to the latest version, swapped both RAM and power supply. Nothing helped. I then tried tweaking some settings manually: I underclocked the processor to 3 GHz (all core) and set the voltage to a fixed 1.2V. This worked. It didn't crash in Windows and it managed to pass stress tests such as Aida64. After this I raised the clocks to 4.2 GHz keeping the voltage the same. This also worked. I then increased the clocks to around 4.7 GHz, still using 1.2V, and that also worked - much to my surprise. After pushing my "luck" for a while I eventually reached something unstable which resulted in a BSOD. "No big deal" I thought, but lowering the clocks back to 4.5 GHz (stable just a few minutes ago) resulted in constant blue screens again. WHAT? ? I started over with an underclock -> "stock-clock" -> overclock (@ 1.2V) which brought me back to where I were. Although the behavior was weird, I decided to build the computer properly into a case ( Corsair Carbide SPEC-DELTA). Around this time I also decided to delid my 7700K in order to exclude temperature as a variable and I also installed Windows on the 850 EVO mentioned above to avoid potential driver clashes. I tuned a few more settings manually in BIOS such as Cache frequency (among others) in hope of making things more stable - and for a while - it really was stable. I even managed to hit 5 GHz (!) at a reasonable voltage: ~1.3V. I had some seemingly random crashes throughout which made me dial it back down to 4.7 GHz 1.2V and I found that to be stable for almost 5 days. I was really happy (although confused) and I used the machine daily for both games and web browsing. **Keep in mind that throughout this entire troubleshoot I had been trying to use stock settings and it NEVER worked** Unfortunately it started crashing again... And now I can't reach 4.7 GHz anymore. I can't even reach 4.2 GHz. Stock settings or "optimized defaults" still also don't work. The only thing working at this moment is a substantial (handicapping) underclock such as 3 GHz. **Has anyone ever experienced something similar??? I don't have another compatible motherboard or CPU to properly troubleshoot further. You guys are my only hope! Any input is appreciated!

My issue started a while ago after a particular windows update by laptop bluescreened with the error code: 0xc000021a. I managed to fix it by rolling the system back to before the update. Everything was fine for a couple of weeks Today on start up I got the error code again so I proceeded to go through the same notion of rolling the system back. This appeared to fix it. However when I got to the lockscreen I could not get to the password box to type in my password and log in. Here is a gif showing the issue: https://gfycat.com/admiredfrankleopard

I recently purchased the Razer Blade 15 Advanced (2070 max-q), and have had some serious crashing/blue screen of death issues when the laptop is not plugged in. (VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE, VIDEO_MEMORY_MANAGEMENT_INTERNAL) When I am at home, this is not much of an issue because I use it at my desk, where it can be plugged in. Issues arise when I use the laptop for work/school. I've been doing a bunch of creative work recently, and the number of blue screens per day is increasing dramatically. Today, for example, I had 4 blue screens. Sometimes this was during heavier use (After Effects CC and InDesign simultaneously), but other times it happens during simple tasks such as web browsing, importing files from my camera, or opening a word document. At this point, I plan on getting a replacement from Amazon. Before I do that, however, I want some more opinions. Is it worth getting a replacement or should I just get a refund and buy something else? I chose the Razer Blade 15 because of its mix of high performance and high build quality. I don't know what other laptops would be able to replicate it. I need my laptop to be powerful enough for work, but still portable enough for school. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions they would be greatly appreciated, thanks! EDIT: Just to clarify, I will be returning or replacing. I'm just looking for help deciding which option to pursue/other laptop options.

Hi, I really would appreciate some help. I have a two year old custom gaming pc from Cyberpower that I use for heavy motion graphics Here are the specs 4.2 GHz Intel Core i7-7700K Quad-Core 32GB DDR4 RAM 240GB SSD + 3TB HDD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti (11GB GDDR5X) In the past 3 months I’ve been getting progressively consistent BSODs (most often System Service Exception, APC Index mismatch, Unexpected Kernel Mode Trap, Page Fault in Nonpaged Area) Here’s the history- I’ve done a clean install of Windows and updated it, updated all drivers, done CPU and Hard Drive diagnostic tests and Memtest with no errors. But my graphics card failed the Superunigine benchmark test. So I took it to a repair shop and they said it was the PSU that wasn’t supplying enough power to the graphics card, with the amount of processing I was making it do. They put in an 850w PSU and additional cooling. I bring it home and I’m still getting BSODs. I then got a used 1080 gpu and tried running the benchmark and it also failed. I’m at a loss at the moment. Could someone point me in the right direction? Could the pins connection the GPU to the motherboard be faulty? Could it possibly (I really hope not) be my files? I ran the HDD scan test on both HDD and SSD with no errors. The blue screens seemed to be getting progressively worse, at some point I couldn’t even watch netflix without it bluescreening. I've attached Minidump logs, hopefully they're helpful. 072219-6125-01.dmp 072219-6218-01.dmp 072219-6562-01.dmp 072219-6828-01.dmp 072219-7406-01.dmp

Hi everyone I bought a new rig from amazon and it arrived 3 days ago. I built it and booted it up to the bios and it recognized everything, but when i tried installing Windows 10 via usb i got the Aourus logo then a blue screen. The error I got here was MACHINE CHECK EXCEPTION. After that I took it to a technician he did all sorts of troubleshooting, ram were working fine. We tried booting it up with an i3 8th gen and it booted up correctly. After that i had the idea of updating the bios to see if it would work and it did. We updated it to the 10b version. (https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z390-AORUS-MASTER-rev-10/support#support-dl-bios) I went back home installed steam, antivirus and normal programs. A couple of hours later, the blue screens came back but this time 5 different ones. I tried both ram stick separately it kept giving a blue screen. Here's a list of the errors I on this point: Critical process died KMODE exception not handled KMODE exception not handled with an error below it saying "ntfs.sys" Page fault in non paged area Bugcode NDIS driver I spoke with some friends who own pc businesses and they say its the MB but the technician that helped me says its the CPU. I have until the 11 of September to return whats faulty, I'm living in Colombia, south america. So I would need to send whats bad asap. Thank you all you for taking the time to read this. Here are the specs of the new build i7 9700k z390 Aorus Master G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) Samsung 970 EVO 500gb Seasonic FOCUS plus 850 gold CORSAIR HYDRO Series H150i PRO RGB WD Black 2TB Performance edit1: I forgot to mention that when I took it home and it worked. I stressed test the pc with aida64 for 30 minutes and nothing happend. It didnt crash cpu temps where at 63c avg with 4.6 avg clock speed.

Hey, yesterday began having some issues with my computer, I'll give a quick run down on what happened. Was just playing TF2 at the time and the screen froze temporarily, before it looked like horizontal stripes, went white then turned off and went to restart. Upon restarting I got a blue screen, to which I chose to return to windows and it went in fine. After about 10 minutes the same thing happened again though. This time I could not get back in. I've also noticed some weird stuff upon starting the computer. The initial motherboard screen has weird artifacts over it, along with a second screen has appeared very quickly after that that I had never seen prior to this. I've attached them both for reference. I'm not sure whether this is a coincidence or an actual problem. I'm able to get into the computer with safe mode though. Windows attempts an automatic repair and all I get is the Automatic Repair couldn't repair your PC With the log file D:\WINDOWS\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt which I've also attatched At the bottom it mentions the problem: Root cause found: --------------------------- Boot critical file d:\boot\resources\custom\bootres.dll is corrupt. Repair action: File repair Result: Failed. Error code = 0x2 Time taken = 8016 ms Looking into that directory, that custom folder does not exist, in the resources folder though, the bootres.dll does exist. I've tried a few suggestions from other forums but nothing has worked so far. I'd much prefer not to have to refresh windows and just get this working properly. I'm also not sure if this is a hardware issue or software issue due to the things I mentioned before with the motherboard screen. Thanks for any help. If any other info is needed I'm happy to give SrtTrail.txt

I am facing a weird errors while using my pc, like critical process died, Kernel Security Check Failure and the most common and mostly this is the one i face everyday is unexpected store exception. I thought i get this error only while gaming but mostly gaming but i have got this once or twice while browsing too, Everytime i play league of legends i have a chance my pc may crash with the unexpected store exception, I have even got this in while using the client, I do not what device is causing this i have tried a clean windows, tried installing on sata ssd on nvme same error everytime once it starts to get a while, One more thing is weird that once i get this error my ssd is no longer detected by bios and i need to cut power off to the pc from socket in order to make it work again, But i checked my ssd heath from hdtune and crystalmark software and its all ok and good heath, I do not know any longer what to make of this, i cant seem to solve it and is hurting my everyday life, ALso yes i have all the stupid amd drivers like chipset and stuff. my system is Windows 10 Pro 1903 64Bit Ryzen 3 1200 Radeon 6670 1gb DDR4 8gb 3000mhz MSI b450m pro vdh v2 Samsung Evo 860

Hey guys. I recently built a PC and it went to blue screen error because I tried system restoring because I had HDD and SDD problem. So I am replacing Specs - Ryzen 2600x, ASUS ROG Crosshair HERO VII (WIFI) Croshair Vengance 16gb RAM, Samsung EVO SSD. My question is should I also replace my motherboard which is a Crosshair Hero VII (Wifi) to fix this problem? I don't have Warranty the MB thats why I want to know. Do you think that the motherboard has any reason why my computer went to Blue Screen Error? Do I need a new MB because I am getting a new CPU? Thanks

Hey guys so i got my 3 new monitors here the other day i got the xv272up for my main monitor and i got the vg0 27 inch for my 2 side monitors. my issue is that when i go to sleep i turn off my 2 side monitors and let the main one keep running with a movie or something equivilant on. When i want to turn on side monitors the following morning they just show a blue screen, The main monitor is fine i can move mouse around and everything, and i can drag mouse to blue side monitors but not see it ofcourse. Only way to fix this is by restarting my pc and then all 3 work fine again. Why does it just stay blue after been turned off during my 8 hr night cycle ? I had 3 older monitors before i got these new ones and they never turned blue after being turned off for the night any help cheers speccs i9-9900k rtx 2070 asus tuf z370 16gm ram https://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/model/UM.HV0EE.001 > side monitor which just shows a blue display after being turned off from a night sleep. https://uk-store.acer.com/xv2-gaming-monitor-xv272up-black?utm_source=acer.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=AcerBoost_Search&utm_content=UM.HX2EE.P01#_ga=2.165501759.1814050716.1555258796-1848111812.1555258796 main monitor which is never turned off and never have issue with, just for reference

So I need help. I recently updated my bios (my bios was almost 2 years old) and since then I have had multiple blue screens that I think are all related to some driver issue. I have since updated (I believe) all of my drivers. Audio drivers device drivers etc. but I'm still having issues. Specifically with Overwatch not recognizing my audio devices and just reading them as "unknown". My motherboard is an Asus Prime x370-A, device manager isn't showing any drivers that need to be downloaded and I have no idea what's going on. I thought it might have been because of Voicemode but again... i don't know. I'm contemplating re-doing my bios install or just straight up paying someone to fix what ever shit is going on. I've also gotten a few "audio renderer" errors from Youtube that required a restart. If anyone has any idea of what is going on I would immensely appreciate your input on this. Please I have no idea what's happening and I'm getting scared. Also sorry for the sporadic explanation, I'm kinda anxious about these things.

Sometimes when I'm working with my laptop, the screen suddenly goes black and then after a few seconds everything goes right. But the bigger problem is when I launch a game, some of the games just crash on launch and on some other games, screen goes black and then the blue screen of death displays. Do you think it is just because of my gpu or chipsets? Or maybe something else?

I am hoping you can help me, I've been at a loss for 5 days now. I've been playing csgo for a very long time, this isn't the first time i've ran into problems. I've always been able to fix them, but this time I am at a loss for words. I have been running csgo on this machine for some time now. Last Friday my pc crashed while playing & recording a gotv demo file. Ever since my pc crashes on counter-strike launch, I get a different blue screen error code everytime. I have taken multiple steps and read countless forum topics on this same issue. Today I wiped my SSDs and completely reinstalled windows with no luck. I just want to play CSGO again. Heat isn't an issue, all my temps are under 50 degrees celcius. Any other Steam game I open is playable on max settings with no issues. Including any other pc game platform Origin, Blizzard, Xbox App. I am a video editor and use HLAE to record sometimes, I've used HLAE on multiple PCs in the past and it has never corrupted anything for me before. Could HLAE have done something funny here? This is a fresh PC build and it ran CSGO, along with any other game like a champ for the 2 weeks. Still plays any other title seamlessly! It's literally only CSGO! Help me fellow bangers!Steps I have taken:- Updated all display, graphic, windows, and bios drivers.- Verified game files- Restored any config files and custom settings- Deleted CSGO and reinstalled several times on multiple SSDs- Deleted Steam and reinstalled several times- Ran CSGO as admin and tried multiple compatiblity modes- Launched in -windowed, -safe, and -autoconfig modes- Disabled any recording software- Disabled any 3rd party software (Synapse, CUE, CAM)- Installed CSGO on multiple SSD's- Disabled any SLI config- Disabled 2nd monitor- Completely wiped both SSD's and Reinstalled windows.PC SpecMobo: Asus TUF Mark 2 X299CPU: i9-7920x @4.4GPU: 2x GTX 1070 in SLI32GB Gskill 3000MHZ, 970 PRO M.2, 860 EVO 1TB Also: Every time it crashes the PC on game load it removes the game from the Steam library. I then have to find the game location and it goes through the reinstall process from the beginning. When contacted Steam I was told to contact Microsoft as it's probably a hardware issue.

I recently bought this game called Arma 3. So, I tried to play the game, and I could play it just fine. 20 minutes later I got a blue screen. It said "whea uncorrectable error". I've never had this before while playing other games, and I'm not sure how to fix this. I would really appreciate it if someone here could help me out.

Ezt3 posted a topic in Troubleshooting
I need help getting my laptop back up and running! After system restoring, my pc suddenly stopped and gave a BSOD, which has this error message CRITICAL PROCESS DIED. When I'm starting my pc and go into my bios settings, disabling XMP profile and reboot, my pc gives all kinds of different BSOD (Blue screen of death) errors, the commonly one is: - WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR" - DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (I did system factory reset, run a virus scan program to check, checking the command prompt etc) Nofthing solve the issue so far... - I have an Asus ROG Maximus XI Z390 motherboard (at December, 2018) I haven't installed the BIOS 0602 for my current Bios/Mobo yet..mabye it will fix all my problems? And how do I install it? I'm afraid to ruin something else or system... ? Another note is, when I have XMP enabled, I get no BSOD or any problem whatsoever...do I have to update my Bios? I really don't know what else might be wrong in the normal settings... Need some help please Thank you in advance,

Hello, This has been a long, ongoing saga with this build, and I'm at my wits end. Apologies for the long post up front, but I want to be as thorough as possible. System specs: 9900k Asus Maximus XI Formula - have run BIOS versions 1506, 1602, 1703 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro, 3200 16CL EVGA 2080Ti XC Ultra Gaming 1TB Samsung 970 Pro m.2 NVME 1TB Samsung 860 Evo m.2 SATA Corsair HX1200i PSU Corsair Commander Pro LED/Fan controller Lian-li PCI-E extension cable for the video card Phanteks Evolv X Hard line watercooling setup I am unable to install Windows on this machine. As soon as it starts to boot from the install USB (created with the Windows Media Creation Tool, tried with both the 1803 build and 1809 build) I get a blue screen. Windows logo, spinny circle, immediate blue screen. I get a multitude of different errors. Here's a list of as many as I've recorded/can remember. Unexpected kernel mode trap IRQL not less or equal kmode exception not handled driver overran stack buffer system thread exception not handled kernel security check failure I do not have the minidump files, it doesn't appear that they are written back to the install media. When I first got all the parts for the build in, I did a test boot/windows install outside of the case without the watercooling installed. Everything (seemed) to be fine. Windows installed, booted, was able to install a few other things. At that point I took it apart, rebuilt in the case, installed the watercooling loop, and booted it up again. At first, things were OK again. Then I decided it was time to overclock. I pushed to 5Ghz with no issue, then tried for 5.1. Couldn't get it stable. It was late at night, so I decided to dial it back to 5Ghz for the night and leave it there. Wouldn't stay stable at 5Ghz. It was unstable still at 4.8, and the blue screens were starting to hit just on the desktop, not even when trying to run Cinebench. Everything back at stock settings, and I was still getting blue screens on the desktop. I left it for the night, and decided after looking at the documentation on the blue screens I was seeing it was either a driver issue, or maybe something had gone wrong with my Windows install. So I decided to wipe the drives and try again with a fresh Windows install. Used the Secure Erase feature of the Asus board on both drives, then tried to install Windows again. That's when I started getting the blue screens during Windows install. So I drained my loop, disassembled everything, and tried rebuliding it on the bench with the bare minimum of everything - single stick of ram, using the onboard graphics, air cooler. Still, same problem. Rolled back the bios, switched to the backup bios, all the same results. Then I went on Newegg and bought the cheapest z390 board they had to test on. It arrived, I moved things over to that board, and booted up. Everything was fine. Installed windows with no issue. I ran the system for 48 hours without restarting it to be sure. I put on a 48 hour long youtube video to run in the background so I could verify when I got up each morning that it hadn't rebooted/crashed overnight. I even ran the Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool, and it passed everything. All seemed just fine, so I assumed that my Formula board was bad. Returned the test board to Newegg. Setup an RMA with Asus, sent the board in. Waited a week, got notice that they had diagnosed a "pin has skew" issue (bent pin in the socket, I'm assuming), for which they said they don't repair and instead send out a new board. Great. It arrives, has the anti-scratch plastic on all the panels (which I'd removed from mine), no bent pins in the socket that I can see, so I'm assuming it's a new board. At this point I do the dumb thing I knew even at the time I shouldn't. Instead of doing the test build out of the case, I just rebuild it all. Reassmble my hard line loop, refill it, leak test it for a day, then try to boot it up again. Exactly the same issue. Things I have already tried to do: Tested memory 1 stick at a time, and testing a stick from my current PC that is known good Run memtest86 on the 4 sticks together, all passed Updating the bios to 1602 and 1703 Rolling back the bios to 1506 (first available version) Removing the video card via unplugging the PCI-E extension cable and using only onboard graphics disconnecting all USB devices from the motherboard - unplugged the commander pro, front USB panel, USB connection from PSU Memory training is turned off via the switch on the motherboard Tested using each m.2 drive by themselves (not easy to remove with the hard line in place, let me tell you!) That pretty much brings us to today. I can't think of anything else to try. I ASSUME that I didn't just get the same motherboard back from Asus. So that stumps me. Is this a CPU issue? Seems unlikely, given that everything worked when I tested in the other z390 board (an ASRock z390 Pro 4), but then again, I thought that the replacement motherboard was going to solve me. Any ideas? What have I not thought of? What am I missing?

Hey everyone this is my first post here but this place is great, I've gotten help by reading these forums many times before. The problem I've been having with my computer started three or so months back, it seemed to go away for weeks at a time, but now it's really bugging me since it's preventing me from playing any games and the instability can cause work loss. I get some random and some crashes where I can reliably expect them both when stressed and when not stressed. I've reformatted windows, tried different drivers, used different memory slots and speeds, and unplugged all unnecessary peripherals (only mouse,keyboard,dp-video,power). Took a day and ran memtest86 on all modules one at a time in slot a2 at 3200mhz with no errors on any module. I repeated the test in dual channel with slots a2 and b2 with no errors as well. The problems start when testing any combination involving slots a1 and b1 with errors showing up right away at 2800mhz and higher. The only other parts I can potentially test are another GPU (R9 270) and a different PSU (500W) although since those parts are so different I'm not sure testing with them will help. The problems manifested in either random blue screens (PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA, SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION, and nvidia driver error one time) or black screens where video just cuts out but the computer is still on with audio playback, hardware lights and fans spinning (gpu spins full speed). I logged everything using hwinfo64 when I expected a crash during a stress test (heaven benchmark reliably causes black screen < 2min) and I saw that the pci-e slot seems to stop working or something (showing 0x pci-e speed). I already RMA'd my first GPU due to artifacting thinking it was failing but there was no improvement, in fact I think it got worse. The memory failures even though each module is individually good combined with the GPU slot issues makes me think the problem is the motherboard, but a few other possibilities are bouncing around and just wondering what kind of ideas you all might have. Any help figuring out what it is that I should send in next is greatly appreciated. system info: Asrock B450M Pro4 AMD Ryzen 5 2600 @ stock speed Team Group 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4 3200mhz, B-Die (tested @ 2400mhz w/crashing also) EVGA GTX 1080 FTW 8GB Windows 10 Pro Samsung 970 Pro M.2 (os ssd) EVGA 750W P2

For those having constant BSODs using an AsRock motherboard with Crucial Ballistix RAM, I have found a fix that not many people have suggested, and I want to make it more known. If I had known to do this earlier, it would have saved me from a week of troubleshooting and trying to fix blue screens. My build uses an AsRock B450 Steel Legend and Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer RGB 3200 MHz RAM, but this fix may also apply to other AsRock motherboards and Crucial RAM. Here is a list of the blue screens I was getting (if they do not match what you are getting then this fix probably won't work): memory_management system_service_exception irql_not_less_or_equal pfn_list_corrupt Here are the steps I took to fix this issue: Run the Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool. I just did a single pass basic test. If you get an error, you probably have the same problem as me. If not, it's probably because of something else. (Optional) Replace your RAM. It may be because of faulty RAM. However, this may not be the issue, and isn't what fixed the problem for me. I actually did replace my RAM, and was still getting errors when running the Diagnostic Tool. Go into motherboard BIOS and make sure your motherboard is running the RAM at a high enough voltage. My motherboard was only supplying 1.2 V, and my RAM needed 1.35 V. Run the Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool again. If you got an error before, but don't get one now, the problem should be fixed. After doing steps four and five, I haven't had any blue screens for over two weeks. If those steps didn't fix the blue screens, and you are still getting errors when running the Memory Diagnostic Tool, you probably just have faulty RAM and should get it replaced. Hopefully this helped fix the issue for you as well though.

Just set up AMD eyefinity with an rx580 strix 8gb, and two LG 25UM58 ultrawide monitors. Windows blue screened with the error win32kfull.sys and now I can't see windows, or the post/bios screen. I have tried swapping in a different graphics card, and resetting the CMOS to no effect. The pc is probably now in startup repair, since the keyboard isn't connecting anymore. How can I fix this?
