  1. Hi, My parents have an Acer Aspire Z5771 All in One Computer which has an i5-2400s which is not overclocked. It currently runs at 2.5GHZ and the computer has 6GB RAM and a 1TB hard drive. It is currently running Windows 7 Home Premium with the 64 bit version Several times a day, it will suddenly shut down and reboot with a blue screen with a message as seen in the pictures below. I was wondering what was causing this issue and what I can do to fix it? Thanks in Advance
  2. Hi i just built my new rig a couple days ago and everythings been working fine except that sometimes there'll be ticking sounds - one ticks or continuous ticks and i've gotten 2 blue screens so far out of the blue for no reason, with no specific software being run at the point of time, what could be causing the blue screens and ticking sounds?
  3. Hi there, I've run into an issue which I hope someone in the community can help me with. I'd be very grateful for any help! Recently, my PC (I'll include complete specs below) has been just shutting down and restarting, out of nowhere, with the screen going black, followed by a no signal message on the monitor and then a normal startup and PC function; all seems to work fine afterwards, until it happens again. It's happened two or three times so far. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the apps I'm running, since I've been using the PC with more or less the same apps for some five months now. However, I did recently install Adobe Indesign CS6 and Need For Speed Rivals, the former of which I haven't run yet and the latter of which I was running once when the issue arose (it was on a loading screen after the main menu). There was no blue screen of death, no notable resource strain (I like to keep the task manager open on the Performance tab because I find it interesting), no error messages before, during or after the shutdowns and I was only running Spotify, Chrome and Nikon's ViewNX software, which I've happily run before. However, I recently used Gigabyte's EasyTune 6 and ever since, when the PC starts up, the program gives me an error message with something along the lines of "CPU load fail!!!!". Maybe this has something to do with it? I'd be curious to know what I should check to see if I can solve the problem, i.e, where I should look to see if there are any errors which need rectifying. Thanks very much in advance for your help and don't hesitate to reply if the information I'm giving is in some way incomplete, too! Yours, edisg. My specs: Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 revision 5.0 AMD FX-6300 Asus AMD R9 270 DirectCU II 8GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical RAM 1TB Seagate Barracuda HDD ATAPI iHAS122 DVD writer Fractal Design Integra R2 500W power supply I have the latest 2013/04/23 BIOS version. I run Windows 8.1 64-bit. All my drivers are up to date.
  4. Hey guys! For a few days now, every time I turn my computer on, it performs normally for around 3 minutes before it automatically shuts down, displaying a blue screen stating: page fault in non-paged area. I am thinking of downgrading to Windows 7 again, because I've totally over all the windows 8 bugs and errors. I am also experiencing the error 'Application has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware', and thus freezing my screen, whenever I play any sort of game on steam and I have to restart the game. Do you think I should go down to Windows 7 or stay for Windows 8.1...?
  5. On my old install of windows 7 I would get the following blue screen: https://mega.co.nz/#!xx51yRwS!zUb8DbibquZHkapQ3FJ9sNWsUTOy4pl2BLrri1nnuzw. It would happen every once in a while. I thought it may be a driver or program but I just recently re-installed windows on a new hard drive and just got it after using new HDD for about 2 weeks. This makes me think its a hardware issue, so I ran memtest and nothing. RAM is fine, anyone ever have this blue screen error before? Perfmon: https://mega.co.nz/#!10IVWJDQ!l7h7BsQqqxfzwAGrXGs0weOVXd3riekxQzGyc6SPFco OS: Windows 7 Ult 64bit Previous windows install on other HDD: Win 7 HP 64bit Age: about 2 years OS age: Installed windows on ssd about 2 weeks ago CPU: AMD-FX 8350 oc 3.44ghz GPU: Nvidia Asus gtx 770 2gb Mobo: Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 Power supply: corsair cx 650w Desktop
  6. Hi, I bought a new stick of RAM (8GB, 1600mhz) and after installing it and going into windows to do the usual, I got a blue screen. I was able to get into windows again and as I was about to zip the dump files to upload, I got another blue screen. I am now unable to get past the login screen as my keyboard and mouse don't respond. My specs are: OS: Windows 8.1 64bit CPU: Amd a8 3870k - not overclocked Motherboard: MSI a75a-g35 - all updates installed PSU - raidmax 500w new ram: patriot 8gb 1600mhz old ram: transcend 4gb 1333mhz EDIT: I'm running on the integrated graphics for the moment, however I do have and amd R9 280x 3gb - no difference when it is installed either I've tried using the old ram, the new ram, the old ram one stick at a time, safe mode and yet I still cannot get into windows anymore. The blue screen error was: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I am unable to upload the dump files as I cannot get into windows at all. I can however use my mouse and keyboard in the bios. Also the pc doesn't want to POST sometimes, and when it does I can do anything until I get to the windows log in screen.
  7. Hi, i just updated my avast today, i got a blue screen, the only way to fix it was to go back, so liked to know if anyone elts is haveing this problem?
  8. Hi guys, I hope you can help me... I am having BAD_POOL_HEADER - memory allocation problem or something Can anyone help me? I have attached a pc of my laptop specs. First time this happened was after 1 day from when i unparked my cores, next day when i was playing a game in facebook i opened another tab and started linus video but then after 3 minutes i got BSOD saying: BAD_POOL _HEADER and then it a. I tried this again by opening same things with 2 tabs and it has been happening since forever its been 2nd day today. 9. so i have a 7970hd (xfx), fx8350, 16gb ram corsair vengeance. Recently i went on amd's website to see if there were any new driver updates for my GPU and apparently there was so i downloaded it and about 10 mins later my computer blue screened. i have had csgo crash twice on me so far and when i am playing it or watching some youtube videos on full screen it is stuttering and kinda jumping. I dont know if this is my driver or my actually GPU doing it. I have a solve PC issues message on my task bar which shows this ( http://gyazo.com/2790ad3c8ae2f38cbaeee470bcac9eea) but then when i click the view message details i get this ( http://gyazo.com/f67c811133d90750781a449e3eedad71 ) Can someone please tell me what is wrong with my PC or at least what i am doing wrong. Thankyou so soo sooo sooooo much Overloss!!!
  10. I have had my PC for about a year now and I have had no viruses and no hardware issues. I can use my PC for hours on end watching videos playing games and doing whatever. Sometimes when I leave it on doing nothing when I come back it says windows has recovered from a crash. When I click details it says Blue Screen. Why does it just randomly Blue Screen but recover? I have never actually seen it blue screen and it never does it when I am using it.

  12. Obviously when overclocking there is a fair degree of trial and error involved, trying to get voltages as low as possible while still remaining stable etc and a common thing I have found when overclocking is if one goes too over the top the system will experience the blue screen of death on startup. While I know I can just go back into the BIOS and fix it, does each time my computer blue screens negatively effect its live span or just overall well being? Thanks (overclocking a 4790k if it matters)
  13. Okay, background information first, here are the relevant specs: i7 5930k (stock) 16gb Corsair Dom Plat 2666MHz Asus X99 Sabertooth Zotac GTX 980 Ti AMP! Extreme edition Boot drive: 512GB Samsung SM951 After running Windows 8.1 pro for around 4 days flawlessly - playing games, etc. I decided to make the jump to Windows 10. Because of the legitimacy of my OS I decided to buy windows 10 and do a fresh installation. I created a bootable usb drive with the windows 10 ISO, installed it with no issues, then downloaded the drivers for my motherboard, which were the same as the ones I'd had to use for Windows 8.1. I started with the chipset driver, followed by both LAN drivers and then the Asmedia usb 3.1 driver without restarting - so far so good. shortly after, my screen resolution hopped up to its native 1440p resolution without me installing any nvidia drivers. I check my programs to find them already installed. Thinking it was odd but not investigating further, I downloaded and installed Ai suite 3, at which point I rebooted. Got as far as the sign in menu, typed my pin in and it came up with DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_OR_LESS_EQUAL(storahci.sys) and restarted. Upon restart another blue screen error saying windows failed to load correctly appeared and prompted trouble shooting options. After trying to reset the PC, checking bios settings etc. I went for a full re-installation of Windows. After trying the process normally again with the same result, I researched some options I could try. Seeing as Storahci.sys can be caused by key component driver failures or corruptions, I thought back to the nvidia drivers being installed when I'd tried the first time. I go through the same process again, find the nvidia drivers there without me installing them again. I downloaded install display driver, rebooted into save mode and cleaned the drive of the nvidia drivers (this was 353.54 driver) and any associated files, also turning off windows automatic driver installation for new hardware just to be sure. Now I had a fresh OS with no motherboard drivers and no GPU drivers. I then went about installing the drivers from the asus website using a newer chipset driver, then restarted after each driver was installed to make sure none of them were the problem, the chipset and both LAN drivers installed just fine along with the audio driver. I moved on to the geforce drivers, and downloaded the newest 355.60 windows 10 driver and loaded it fine. Finally I installed the Asmedia usb 3.1 driver, Ai suite, cpu and gpuz, a Nintendo installer for steam, chrome, vlc and a couple of other programmes, aida64, and unigine. This all worked fine, I only rebooted once through these installations when prompted by Ai suite. I'd just decided what game I wanted to download and play first on steam and thought I'd download and run crystal disk mark. It installed just fine. I select the 1gb run and close any other programs down. Started the run and the blue screen 'Windows needs to shut down /restart error' appeared. Windows reboots, scans the disk to try and repair it, finishes and boots into the boot options menu, I selected continue to Windows 10.i got the the start menu, typed my pin in and the DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_OR_LESS_EQUAL(storahci.sys) appears again. After restarting, booting into the sign in menu, the same error appears when trying to sign in. I'm now in the bios trying to figure out if any settings need changing but can't see what else it could be now. It doesn't seem to be the GPU, The bios is set up to run from the sm951 drive just fine, as it did so with Windows 8.1 pro. The drive itself isn't overheating. Sorry about the long post, but it'd be great if I could have some help sorting this out. It's a workstation PC for a graphic design and Adobe CC course so is needed ASAP.
  14. Hey guys, I recently bought 2 sticks of http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227124 to go along with the 2 previous sticks, and had trouble getting them to work together. I did a lot of testing and determined none of the sticks of ram are bad and the motherboard isn't bad either, the new ram just doesn't want to work with the older ram. I bumped up the NB voltage and the memory voltage and had success until my computer started randomly freezing. I bumped up the NB voltage again, and the freezing stopped, but now weird stuff is going on like getting a black background, blue screens, windows saying my registery is up ect. What can I do to get rid of this nonsense? The pictures below are the following: 1. a speccy screenshot of the old 2 sticks of ram working 2. a speccy screenshot of the new 2 sticks of ram working 3. a speccy screenshot of all the ram working together 4-7. What I see when I get into windows Any advice at all would help alot. I don't think bumping up voltage is going to work anymore. I have the memory voltage set at 1.92v and the nb voltage at 1.7v. Thank you guys in advance!
  15. I RECENTLY BOUGHT PARTS FOR A NEW PC, I USE MY OLD HARDRIVES FROM MY OLD COMOUTER WHICH WORKS FINE ON THAT COMPUTER, BUT WHEN I USE THEM WITH MY NEW PC I GET THIS BLUE SCREEN. 16. So here's what happened I got a blue screen of death shortly after logging into Windows 7 then the system rebooted. Then after it booted I got another blue screen of death. Both blue screen of deaths from what I've recall are due to memory dumps. After the second reboot I've got a blank screen. So here's what I've did by far: 1) Push and hold the power button to shut down the computer, switch the PSU to off unplug power cord and all usbs. 2) Plug the power cord back in, switch the PSU to on and powered on the computer. Still blank screen. Here are the specs of my 7+ year old computer: -CPU Intel Quad Core 2 Q6600 -Motherboard ASUS P5N-D -Memory 8GB XM2 DDR2 Corsair Memory -Storage WD Velocopter HDD, a 500GB WD harddrive (inside the case but not connected), two 1TB HDDs (WD & Seagate) in RAID 1 and a Samsung 840EVO SSD connected to a SIIG/Marvell I/O controller -Graphics Card NVidia GTX 560 by EVGA -Chassis Antec P181 -External Battery backup and surge protection APC BR1500G
  17. i made a pc the other day and ran into blue screen is this the cause of the old drives or old windows that needs to be reformatted ive been looking up stuff and most say to change the stata to AHCI which is already picked so what is going on here
  18. Hello everyone! First off, I'll tell you my specs: GPU - R9 280x Vapor-X OC CPU - FX-8350 4.0Ghz RAM- 10GB PSU - 850W CPU Cooler - Hyper 212 Evo MOBO - MSI Gaming 970 Okay, so here I'll tell you about the issue I am facing with Grand Theft Auto V at the moment. I've been getting frequent crashes and freezes while free roaming randomly or playing a mission. I've been looking around the internet and have tried multiple fixes. I ended up figuring out that the freezes had to do with a memory leak that the game has at the moment (Hoping for the fix ). So I messed around with some things in my settings and eventually got it to work for about 30-60 minutes at most. There is also something else that worked but is bothering me, if I under-clock my GPU Core clock it seems to run perfectly fine and never crashes unless it's mod induced. (Should mention that the GPU was factory overclocked and was not messed with by me.) I don't understand how these 2 things effect each other. I normally don't have blue screens I just lock up and need to hard shutdown or have a red screen, but this time I guess you could say I was lucky to get a bsod to show someone and hopefully you can help me out! I attached the file to this post, I hope you can help. Thanks! BSOD.txt
  19. Hello friends, I'm having a small issue with my current PC, a few months ago a tube began leaking and soaked the motherboard and graphics card. When this came to my attention I unplugged my computer. Long story cut short I waited a few day for everything to dry, the graphic card didn't make so I went out and got two Gtx 970's I was lucky system booted right up....the problem I cant over clock at all, if I change the setting from anything but auto windows cash giving me an error I don't remember what the code is but it related to overclocking. my question is what to do besides overclocking my system runs perfect, I on the x79 chipset I know its to late in the game to replace x79 parts, should I move to x99 or wait for the next cpu like skylake-E or something Help.
  20. Hi, my system blue screens every now and then. I was getting quite a bit of "unexpected power loss" due to Asus AI Suit III using "DipAwayMode.exe". I uninstalled AI suit. Same errors continued. I changed the PSU with brand new EVGA NEX650 Gold. Several hours later new error occurred: "The embedded controller (EC) did not respond within the specified timeout period. This may indicate that there is an error in the EC hardware or firmware or that the BIOS is accessing the EC incorrectly. You should check with your computer manufacturer for an upgraded BIOS. In some situations, this error may cause the computer to function incorrectly." Any clue what's going on. My windows 8.1 is fresh, and all drivers are up to date downloaded from ASUS website. I am running: i7 4790K stock clock Z97 Maximus Gene VII 2x8GB Gskill TridentX at 2400MHz (XMP enabled) Samsung 850 EVO 250GB for boot drive GTX 970 Gigabyte G1 EVGA NEX650 Gold Every single thing is water cooled. I stressed the system with Prime95, Aida64, Valley, Cinebench, Firestrike..... the maximum temp I could get is 50deg C when stressed beyond any typical gaming/rendering/processing intensive load. More interestingly it does not seem to be stress related issue, just happens randomly. All stress test so far successful Any suggestions? Thanks! 22. I'm new to the overclocking world. I'm using AMD Catalyst to overclock my CPU since I can't find a halfway decent guide using my bios. Halfway through the 4000 test I got the blue screen clock watchdog. I was holding steady at 59 degrees using the stock cooler. My current setup is as follows: CPU: FX-8320E MoBo: Asus M5 A97 R2.0 Ram: Crucial 1866 2x4Gb GPU: XFX R9 280 Power: 600W OS: Win 8.1 64bit Any and all assistance is welcomed.
