I originally posted this on the official Intel forum, but since LLT community is much more active and helpful i copied the post over here. I hope thats okay Hey everyone, I have a problem with my PC constantly crashing when i try to game on it. Everything is going normal, but when i try to game it crashes after 5 to 30 minutes. (seemingly random time) I get a blackscreen or the screen simply freezes and a loud buzzing sound. Recently the crashes also occured while just browsing. (though rarely) The Games that always trigger that are for me: GTA5, Skyrim, DARK, CoJ: Gunslinger and CS:GO. (The Games run just fine at 60+ FPS before crashing) So far have tried reinstalling drivers (also DDU them), completetly reinstall windows clean, trying different XMP and non-XMP Profiles (some with lower speed on the RAM) Furmark, AIDA64 GPU Stress Test, Heaven and Valley all ran without crashing and gave respectable results. AIDA64 Stresstest crashed either when stressing CPU+RAM over longer time, or when stressing CPU+Cache. (CPU alone was fine) Intel Processer Diagnostic Tools Test was passed sucessfully though. (I should add that i also never overclocked the CPU, only used Turbo Mode) This is my Rig: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Venoxx/saved/tC8WGX I would be most thankfull if you could help me with this problem, as it makes gaming almost impossible, which is why i build this PC in the first place. Thank you in advance

So I was messing with stuff in "AMD Settings" and I turned up GPU clock, GPU memory speed, AND GPU fan speed. I think if i could just get into the settings i could lower them, but the thing is when I try to start up my PC it gets to the sign into user area and then restarts itself. I have a R9 380 4gb, and idk what to do. I deletes AMD Settings in hopes the settings would go away but that did not work. I can only use my PC when i take out the GPU. everything else works fine. BUT when i put the GPU in and start up windows, after my PC P.O.S.T.s it Revs up to MAX GPU FAN SPEED, then it restarts. Anything at all will help!

Hi, I just switched to the Samsung UE590 4k display. I am using the Radeon (TM) RX 480 Graphics strix 8GB GPU. However, with this new monitor i keep getting a blinking black screen. Like I changed some sort of display setting and the screen would go black in order to apply those settings. It keep happening randomly and won't stop. I have changed the HDMI cables and tried a few different settings but I am not able to figure this out. PLEASE HELP!

i have had a lot troubble with this pc earlier and suddenly the original mobo died. I was unable to get it up and running for a few months. I got some new parts (a new mobo, OS and SSD) i put it togeather and everything went smoothly. At first glance my computer booted wonderfully the very first time. But when i turned it on after a dinner break (windows was just installed, no drivers or anything like that was there) it at first looked totaly normal until it just showed the loading screen for seemingly an eternity (at close to 5fps), so i rebooted it, and started up the windows repair tool, it just told me an error message on everythig i tried. so i got mad and tried to restart it at least 30 times the same thing happened. until the loading screen was replaced by a quick flash of the windows logo and then just a black screen. the only thing that worked was my mouse. aaand it is back to the infinite loading screen again. my anger issues are not too found of this! thanks for helping! spesifications: windows 10 64bit intel core i7 6700k at stock speeds msi z270 sli plus (yes i know it's a stupid combo but my retailer only had this mobo available as a replacement for one that broke) Asus strix GTX 970 OC in two way SLI 32GB HyperX DDR4 ram 240GB intel SSD 540s series 2TB Seagate SSHD (this drive was in an earlier build) 750w coolermaster something PSU

I'm a fairly new on PC. I know the basic things you need to know, but I'm still a noob. I recently came across this problem where when I alt tab or close a game, my computer blackscreens, Ctrl+Alt+Del not working, pressing escape, or waiting for it to fix itself. I can not continue once this black screen shows up, must reboot. If I have Skype in the background it still plays and I can still talk with people, I just can't do anything. I'm running the latest drivers and windows update. I have unplugged the power supply and let it drain for about 30 minutes, still nothing. This problem is starting to get annoying. Someone plz help Specs: CPU: AMD FX- 8320 Eight core GPU: AMD Radeon R7 200 series Windows 10 Home ( I sadly don't know the rest. I have 8 gbs of ram tho)

Hi LTT forums, I recently got my hands on an Optiplex 7010 (in Thailand) and I was removing bloatware, etc. when in a stroke of sheer brilliance I clicked an icon (KKD Multitool Customize Wizard) and it opened up a folder. I was at a loss as why it was there since I couldn't find the program anywhere on the computer and decided to launch "Leopard". Unwittingly I had launched a program which serves to change the style of the desktop, it ran a cmd script and left my desktop completely bare, no windows explorer or icons. I restarted the computer only to be greeted by a black screen, photo attached in this post. Now, I cant system restore since there was no restore point and launching in safe mode does not work. However, I did find this site, http://www.easyosteam.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=2112 I know most of you probably can't read Thai, neither can I particularly well, but it says that this is a bug that can happen and they provide a solution; "Launch the style you want to use, Press yes and wait for the window to restart, you will get beautiful icons to use. The problem found in the KKD customise wizard in this VIP version you've downloaded beforehand has one bug- is that when you changed the icon image into the original???? when you enter windows there will be a black screen therefore members of VIP that downloaded ?? will have to redownload again the file name has to be KKDWin7V0_x64new.adi to be a new file" I can't re download anything since I can't get past the login screen and I have no clue what I can do using cmd in regards to inserting a .adi file. If anyone has some advice please do let me know! TL;DR I unknowingly launched a program which changes icons and styles on a new computer and can't get past the win7 login screen.

Hi guys, I have been getting this problem since the last two three days. While gaming the screen suddenly goes black and there is a loopy audio heard in the speakers. All i can do is to do a hard reboot of the system. CPU config cpu:i5 6500 ,pgu:zotac gtx 1060 amp edition,6gb ddr5 psu:corsair vs650 motherboard:asrock b150m pro4 240 gb ssd(zotac),1tb hdd 7200 rpm WD. RAM:8GB *2 (16GB) Kingston hyperx fury 2133 Mhz troubleshooting i have done so far without any improvement 1.Plugged in GPU to the alternate PCIe slot 2.Removed the ram modules one by one and checked individually 3.Did a system restore 4.Reinstalled Display drivers. i ran a benchmark of uningine heaven and the same crash happened in 2-3 mins. I cannot figure out the exact issue .I guess it could be A GPU issue or A pSU issue. Anyone who has earlier encountered this problem and found solutions ,please help me here.

Okay so I built my first pc and got everything started up, had a little trouble installing windows with the memory, but ultimately got it downloaded and working. I had my Hdmi connected through my motherboard and not through the gpu while installing windows and booting. I go to start windows and have some issues with a black screen when i was connected to the gpu and didnt think too much but now i cant install any drivers for Nvidia unless its connected via hdmi. Every time I plug it in and reboot, i get a longer boot time and no logo or anything, just black screen. Any tips, i havent done any overclocking yet and only have an hdmi cable atm. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3M7fqk

So this morning I tripped over my power box that was plugged into my all in one when it was running and fully on. It shuts off and when I go to plug it back in it starts up but I notice that nothing happens on the screen. I can hear the normal startup noises and all the lights but nothing happens on the screen, it just remaining black. I've tried many different things like unplugging all the utility's and such from the back of the computer and plugging them back it but that doesn't work at all. Also to add on, when I go to shut off the computer it doesn't just shut off when I press the power button I need to hold it down for around 10 seconds. It's a desktop and I have a second monitor plugged into it that doesn't project any visuals either

Hi there. My pc is a Dell Optiplex 780 Core2Duo E7200 8gb ram MSI R6950 Twin Froze iii PE Corsair vx550w psu i recently put a msi R6950 Twin FROZR III in my pc. I was making a pc on a budget to upgrade and i decided this was a good start point. When i got the card i installed it into my pc and games ran okay. i then decided to overclock the GPU so that i could get better fps. I increased the overclock incrementally and it seemed to be okay but then when loading a game the system crashed and the game was on a black screen. I reset the card to factory defaults and the games still crashed to a black screen. Even MSI KOMBUSTOR loads to the same black screen and crashes the system. Has anybody had this problem before and How can i fix this? Thanks

Hey guys Today i got my new Lenovo Yoga 720-15IKB with a GTX 1050. So far i was pretty happy with my purchase. After i installed all the programs again, renamed the PC to a name that does not hurt your ears when you start your bluetooth headphones (2017 Problems i guess ) Windows of course also wanted to do its updates. So i downloaded and installed them. But as soon as i restarted my PC the fans spinned up and the screen is just black. The Power Button still is lighting up so i think its doing something. But its now almost 20 minutes since started the update and its stil the same. Should i wait or did it just hang itself up and i should kill it with press- and holding the power button? I know thats not a good idea when updating but since i only have a black screen i cant really tell what its doing. Thanks for your help.

Recently I took the steps to upgrade my main PC from AM3 to AM4, and I noticed that after my installation of my AIO Cooler (The CM Masterliquid 120 Lite), I get random lockups, resulting in a blackscreen with absolutely NO responsiveness what so ever. The mouse and keyboard shut off, and the towers power/reset buttons do not respond, the only fix is to turn off the power at the PSU and then to get it to work with the power button again, I have to reseat the HDMI cable in the GPU. The issue only seems to affect the system when it comes out of Hibernate or Sleep modes. For reference here is my rig Case: CM Masterbox Lite 5 PSU: CM G650M CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1400 (3.2Ghz) RAM: Ballistix Sport LT 2400 24GB (2x4GB and 2x8GB) GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1050 2GB (Gigabyte branded) MOBO: Asus ROG Strix B350-F Gaming (Bios 0902) SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB (boot) HDD: (WD Black 750GB and WD Blue 1TB) COOLING: CM Masterliquid Lite 120 AIO I've checked for shorts, rewired and reseated everything, tested the PSU, changed thermal paste and made sure of adequate cooling (Sub 45c after 2.5 hours of Prime95 on maximum power consumption) Event viewer shows "Kernel-power" error, but is not helpful beyond that. Any help is appreciated.

Hey Today i played some CS:GO but for some reason my PC froze... First my main screen froze, after 3-5 seconds my second screen froze and shortly after that the whole system shut down. I thought ok, this happened once to me with this system so just try to boot again. Just one monitor turned on and reacted with a blackscreen. What i tried so far: Switched every cable and tried every slot on the card. Clean driver install. Boot without drivers installed. Boot without GPU on onboard graphic. (Worked) Switched over to the second BIOS from the card. Tried another system with the card. Tried another PCIe slot. After all that still nothing changed. My System: i7 7700 Asus Prime Z270-A 2x8Gb HyperX DDR4 2400 Palit GTX 1070 Super Jetstream 650W Corsair Vengeance PSU Define C Case So... is my Palit GTX 1070 Super Jetstream dead ? Or are there more options for me to test?

I just build a new pc everything seemed to be fine, and working properly. Then i installed windows and it booted just fine. after a few minutes of use, it would all of a sudden black screen, and when i restarted it would not be booting properly anymore. i have tried everything i could find on the web, but nothing seemed to work. Then if i reinstalled windows it would work fine for a few minutes then do the same thing. my bet is that the graphics card is toast. but if anyone on here have an idea to what is happening i'm happy to try. Thx in advance -Kroggen

Hi, i have an odd issue with my 4 mounths old R7 1700 system, i get crashes running Cpu-Z 1,79 or 1,8 together with chrome, black screens over all 3 monitors, + system not responding + cannot shut down system on power key, have to shutdown psu for system to close down. I first believed it to be a faulty motherboard or psu, but i can replicate the issue with CPU-Z + Chrome combination, and i dont seem to get any issues in anything else so far, again system had been running almost since Ryzen launch, and i never had any issues until now, the only change i made over the last 2-4 weeks, was running the newer 803 beta bios on my X370 Prime pro, but the issue didn't start until last week. I was running a 3,8ghz/2933mem oc until then, all stable, however the obvious first thing i did to test the issue was to down-clock and run everything at stock, (loaded optimized defaults in bios). Have anyone else had ANY issue like this, or have any idea where my problem is, or if its simply something with Cpu-Z and chrome that i have never heard off before. It seems odd since i have had cpu-z + chrome opened at the same time many times before without any issues. Also, theres no error msg before the blackscreens, and i dont know exactly if chrome has a crash log i can acces. Also sry for semi bad English, i am in a non native English-speaking country, and i refuse to pussy out and use google translate all the time. Suggestions plz ?

Hello, I finished my gaming PC build a few days ago and it was running fine. However, I shut it down last night, when I tried to turn it on today morning the fans started spinning, the LED's lighted up and my keyboard backlight turned on as well. I also saw some logo on the screen (Wasn't paying attention), but after this, the display went black and the keyboard backlight went out; the fans and everything were still on though. I noticed that there was a little red light next to the RAM on the mobo. I shut down the computer using the power button and restarted again. This time everything started up fine, and I'm now using it; however, there is a red light above the CPU area. Anyone know what caused this? And what do the lights mean? Here is the pcpartpicker link to all the parts: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/2QL9m8

Please Help, At random intervals I notice my screen blinks black for about a whole .5-1 second at just completely random intervals. Whether in Firefox, in game, steam, wherever I am at. I find it gets even worse whenever I have to alt-tab. It has been doing this since Thursday when I logged in. After being annoyed by the blinking I updated from 375.95 to 376.19 in nvidia (I have a GTX 1070). My Monitor is brand new and I tried replugging HDMI, etc to no avail. I tried going through Task Manager. Nothing. I tried checking Super Anti-spyware and Malware-bytes. Nothing. Not even a cookie. Do I have to update chipset? BIOS? Revert Nvidia? This blinking is slowly driving me nuts so I would like some help. Thanks in advance.

So I recently just built a gaming PC, its great at browsing and watching videos no problem but whenever I start a game with heavy loading such as World of Tanks it whines a whole lot shows the game screen then whines more and then the signal to my tv goes out but the sound of the game is still on in a constant loop and the hard drive resets like on boot and whines over and over again until i turn off the computer and turn it back on no signal or picture comes back onto my tv, basically I just want to know if it's my hard drive and if so do I just get a new one and should I got with another hard drive or a SSD? Which one would you recommend? Btw the hard drive is old from my other computer. Here's my system.
