I got a replacement phone(from a warranty deal) from best buy and in a week it broke. The screen is black. It is on since I sometimes feel vibrations from it. I got a new replacement phone and I have to send the broken phone back within the week. Whats the best way to recover the photos from my phone and put them on my PC. I have a usb hub and am able to control my PC that way but using a usb c to hdmi doesn't work. (I don't want to fix the screen only just want to the photos)

Since then the laptop has a black screen with lit up keyboard only. I've tried resetting multiple times but no luck, please help me out. Is there a way to bios recovery??

(My first post, forgive my poor etiquette) EDIT: Attempted a repaste and now my PC is stuck in a boot loop with purple artefacts. See images in below replies. I bought a new monitor to finally escape 1080p 60hz gaming and make good use of my new GPU but when I launch some games the temperature spikes to 81-84c and then proceeds to black screen at 100% fan RPM which needs a reboot to fix. I have only managed to play a few games since I bought the monitor: Minecraft (ATM8 With shaders) - No issues Stellaris (Midgame) - No issues aside from some ran ramping occasionally Anno 1800 - Fan Ramping in main menu, On entering a game (Quality setting agnostic) my 3070 spikes to 80c and I have 10 seconds to quit to menu before I crash. (Note the utilisation on the GPU was around 30%, and the CPU ~40-50% on all cores) Fallout 4 (Atomic Warfare Modpack) - As soon as get to "War never changes" GPU temp spikes to 80+c and I crash. Before upgrading to this GPU I ran DDU before installing the newest Nvidia Drivers, I have also updated the drivers to the newest version 545.84. To attempt to solve my issues I have: Reduced the main monitor frame rate to 120Hz from 170Hz but the issues still persist. Changed the quality preset on anno to medium and the game resolution (Nvidia suggested) to 1969x1108. Almost gave in to the temptation to upgrade my MoBo & CPU. Most of these issues, bar Fallout 4, were rare or non existent on my old 1080p 60Hz monitor but my assumption was that a 3070 can handle 1440p just fine. Issue: Experiencing an interesting type of crash I believe is coming from the GPU. When running video games or other graphically intensive applications like Heaven Benchmark 4.0, Red Dead Redemption 2, Blender Renders, etc. This crash causes both of my monitors to go black, and into 'inactive' mode. Audio will continue playing through my headphones, but I always have to press the power button to let windows shut down and reset the driver before I can get video back. Also on a rare occasion, when booting the PC after a crash, the windows login screen will display very odd artifacting, which only a quick glance at the bios (don't need to change anything) will resolve. When the driver crashes, the GPU will display a red LED light indication next to the 12pin Nvidia PCIE power cable adapter, which I believe from my research indicates that no power is coming into the unit. The same Red LED turns on when the system is off, and stays on until the system is booted. When the GPU crashes and the LED turns on, about 60 seconds later the LED will turn back off, showing the unit has power, but the display drivers do not recover (until I press the power button and let windows shut down). I have taken a video of the crashing process which I can easily replicate, running Heaven Benchmark 4.0 and monitoring HWinfo, I'll attach a screenshot to this thread in a reply below. To my knowledge, there is not any temperatures out of line, nor is there appear to be any abnormal voltages. I have taken the following steps in my own troubleshooting process: - Fresh install Windows 11 - Set everything to default values in BIOS - Reseat GPU into PCIe Lane - Move the GPU one PCIe Lane down - Reseat all power cables between GPU and PSU - Roll back Nvidia Driver from 522.25 to 516.59 - Roll back BIOS from 1720 to 1505 - Turn on/off XMP Profile 1 - Move M.2 drive off of the shared Gen5 lane with GPU - Replace/Upgraded Display Port Cable and HDMI Cable running to my monitors - Swapped GPU out for an old EVGA 1050ti and ran HeavenBenchmark4 with no crash Thanks for coming to my ted talk, am happy to discuss and troubleshoot further, and provide more screenshots. I will be available to do so. Not sure if I have a Lemon GPU on my hands and need to RMA or if there is some deeper compatibility issues with the rig I have built. Rtx 3080 Ryzen 5 5600x Motherboard b550 tomahawk Psu evga 850 gt Ram 3200mhz 32gb (cant remember not at home) My pc cannot force shut down and boots onto a black screen. Not before showing the motherboards logo, abruptly stopping and then the monitor detecting no input. Im honestly not sure where to begin looking for a solution. I just switched the power switch to the psu off, and after a few minutes there was a sound like liquid dropping? I looked around and there no water or anything liquid like that, i have air cooler for the cpu no liquid cooling I have also tried trying to boot into safemode but that still didnt do anything.

Hello, recently I bought a second hand RTX 3060 TI (GV-N306TGAMING OC PRO-8GD rev.3.0 is on the back of the card) The problem is that it goes black screen after bios boot. I think it's a driver issue because I just switched to my old card (GTX 1060) with the old drivers and the same thing happened. (I connected my monitor to the motherboard, uninstalled the driver and now everything is ok with the 1060) Could it be that I am using the wrong driver for the 3060? When there is no driver installed or I boot in windows safe mode there is no black screen and I can do everything normally. The moment I start installing drivers it goes black screen and restarts in a couple of seconds. Then it goes in an endless loop of restarting every 10-15 seconds. I tried installing them through GeForce Experience and through the Nvidia website by filtering the card (537.42-desktop-win10-win11-64bit-international-). I've also noticed that the fans don't spin and the card gets really hot while doing basically nothing (The fans of my 1060 don't spin either under no stress but at least its not super hot. I'd say normal temp.) I'm open to any ideas/tricks I could try.

new cpu x370 upgrade to R 5000 ("preparing automatic repair")
Jack0 posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Hi, I've been using a Ryzen 5 2400G since it's release (without a GPU) and decided to upgrade to the newer R7 5700G APU. I have a X370 AM4 MOBO (GA-AX370-Gaming K5 (rev. 1.x)) and I read it on the manufacturer's page that with the correct BIOS update (F51g or later) it should be possible to run the new CPU So I proceeded with the BIOS updates in the following order (F2 - F31 (+EC FW update) - F40 - F51h) After that the PC booted into Windows10 effortlessly with the old CPU. Then I changed the processor to the new R7 5700G and started the boot sequence. The screen and peripherals lit up and in the bootloader menu I checked the BIOS version (it was F51h) and disabled any overclocking (although I haven't used any previously) x370 ryzen 5000 requirements But instead of starting windows, an "Preparing Automatic Repair" message was displayed on my screen. After that the screen went black and power was cut from the keyboard, mouse and monitor but the PC was still running and didn't even respond to the power button, so I flicked the switch on the PSU. I repeated this several times with no change. I even tried booting into a copy of windows on a USB but received the same result. It didn't go to the blue screen. Then I switched back the old CPU and the PC worked perfectly like before. I'm starting to run out of ideas. Do you have any suggestions?- 3 replies

Hey guys! I just built a brand new PC. Everything was working fine until I've installed the latest Adrenalin driver. Checked my temps, during normal load nothing went over 60 celsius. My problem is the pc randomly just crashes and there is black screen nothing else, and more often than not it crashes so hard I have to reset BIOS and remove the GPU just to get screen again. It crashes randomly, sometimes just out of the blue without any load on the system. My setup: Windows 11 i9 13900k Sapphire nitro+ 7900 xtx PSU: Corsair RM1000x MOBO: MSI z790-a wifi 32 gb Corsair vengeance ddr5 6000 MHz Samsung 980 pro 2TB NVMe M.2 Air cooler: Noctua nh-d15s with 2 fans Case: Corsair 4000d airflow with 3 intake 3 exhaust fans I have 3 separate PCIe 8pin cables going into the GPU firmly attached on both sides. I also tried different versions of the driver 23.9.1, 23.8.2. No overclocking applied. My pc is stable until I install the driver. XMP off. DDU'd the drivers several times. Can it be the problem if the psu is not connected directly to the wall but to a hub? Please help, this is really disappointing.

This is my mother's phone, which has not had any problems until now! The phone all of a sudden stopped responding and the screen turned black, when my mom tried to turn it on again it displayed a white screen with bright, colorful pixels for 30 seconds then a black screen again. I am pretty experienced with tech and I have repaired gaming consoles and my family's phones, and tech overall. I have never seen such a thing and i am really worried that we may lose the photos and videos on the phone. I MUST MENTION: the phone outputs sound when plugging in the charger, i can't call it because it says that my mom's phone can’t be reached, and it vibrates when I try to force restart it by using the power and lower sound buttons! (the phone doesn't have any water damage, dust damage, or any other problems.) The only idea that I may have is that the screen has gone bad and it doesn't display anything anymore. Any suggestions are welcome, as I am willing to try anything in order to save the personal and sentimental information on it!

Recently upgraded my pc and gave the old parts to my little brother. We then built a PC using said parts and a couple of new ones as well. These random black screens were a problem for me before as well, however with this new build, the problem seems to have become a lot more frequent. You can hear the click of the PSU powering off and back on whenever this happens. You can also force the issue by banging on the desk with relatively minor force. The old parts that were carried over were: Mobo: ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-H CPU: i5-9600k CPU Cooler: Cryorig R1 Ultimate WiFi Card: Intel AX200 That's it. New parts include: PSU: Fractal Ion Gold 750w GPU: ASUS TUF 4060Ti 8GB RAM: G.Skill Trident Z Neo 2x16GB 3600MHz (One of my old RAM sticks died) Running Windows 10 Pro The issue occurs at stock clocks and without XMP enabled. The PC can be under load or at idle. The system has used three different PSUs (Old 600W GTR from my first build, an EVGA G3 750W and now the Fractal), three different GPUs (2080, 3080, 4060ti), and is now using new RAM (Old was Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB 3600MHz). Throughout all these changes the issue has always persisted. Multiple fresh windows installs. Drivers are up to date. I updated the BIOS to the latest version available from the ASUS website just last week. The CPU has been repasted and also reseated multiple times. There are no events in event viewer, except that the pc lost power unexpectedly. So at this point I'm at a bit of a loss. All I can think of is a hardware issue with either the CPU or Motherboard, but maybe someone else has some ideas.

CPU Ryzen 5 2600 Motherboard B450m mortar max RAM 2x8 3200mah GPU Palit 1650 super Storage 250gb ssd kingston + 1tb hdd PSU corsair 750w 80+ bronze My pc will lag for couple of seconds it always occurs when I'm working on premiere pro, even if the work is not that complicated there is still times that it will lag then always after that lag i will get black screen but the system unit is on after couple of seconds it will turned on again but when it turned on the program monitor (preview of video) on premiere pro is just black so i have to restart premiere pro for it to be normal again. And there is also times where I experience lag by only just playing on youtube some videos. I've tried replacing my cpu cooler to see if my cpu is overheating from working on premiere pro and after effects but after replacing my stock amd cooler the problem still happens but the temps are better now. What could be the problem of it? Is it a hardware failing?

As the title mentions, I am randomly getting screen blackouts that last between 1-3 seconds. From what I can tell, it doesn't just go black but completely turns off. But it isn't like the typical power outage or cable diconnection where it shows something like "Displayport" or "HDMI" as an overlay on the monitor itself. It just goes black and then comes back. I've tried swapping out cables, making sure the monitors aren't set to ECO mode, and I've also tried different ports on my 3080. I am on a brand new build, except for my GPU, which I am using from my previous build. The only strange thing is, out of the three monitors I'm using, only two monitors have this consistent issue. All three monitors are from ASUS: PG279Q (connected via HDMI running at 60Hz) PG32UQ (connected via HDMI running at 120Hz) PG27AQDM (connected via DisplayPort running at 240Hz) The only monitor not experiencing this issue is my nearly 7-year old PG279Q which can natively run at 144Hz (OC 165Hz) but since I'm only connected via HDMI 1.0, I only have it at 60Hz right now as a third monitor. I'm not sure, but could the higher refresh rate of the two other monitors be causing the blackouts? This issue never happened until about a month ago, and I have reason to believe it was a driver update that might have caused it. Other specs: CPU: Ryzen 7800X3D GPU: RTX 3080 (GeForce 536.99 WHQL driver. Latest from Aug 8, 2023) Ram: 32GB PSU: Corsair Shift 850W Any advice regarding this issue would be extremely helpful. Thanks!

Hi all! I've built myself a new PC a couple of weeks ago (specs at the bottom of the post), and it's honestly been pretty great so far. That is, up until I bought Baldur's Gate III. I'm literally not able to play it for more than an hour before my monitors go black and stop detecting any output from the GPU. At first, I thought that it was a driver issue since it was the most frequent answer to the problem after a quick search, but even with the latest drivers it would still do it. Updated Windows, same thing. Lowered graphics settings, same thing again. I was told that it was potentially an issue with corrupted files, but I quickly ruled that out after it happened with different games (like DiRT Rally 2.0, and even once with Minecraft shaders). At that point, I decided to try to game and check HWinfo as I played, to see if the issue was directly hardware related and not related to a driver or anything like that. Sure enough, by only booting the game, the GPU's temps rose drastically to reach thermal throttling (83°C) after not even a minute of being on the main menu. In addition, the hotspot got to 106°C. I attached a screenshot of the HWinfo report focused on some of the GPU info and the report itself, it's easy to tell when the game was booted. I bought the GPU second-hand, so I don't have a warranty on it. What are my options here? Can I just repaste the GPU, or is the problem potentially worse than that which would make it more worth my money to just get another GPU? A few days ago I took a monitor from a colleague (LG 27GL850-B) and it works great outside of games. However, when I go into games, I have a constant problem of the screen flickering to black. On the desktop, browsing, all programs, no problem, but as soon as I enter the game, the problems start. Interestingly, one game (World of Tanks) flickers only on ultra graphics in 1080p, while on medium it works normally. Tried 2k resolution and got the same thing - it flickers on high resolution, but when I set the lowest resolution it works normally. Tried setting 100, 120 and 144 Hz, same problem. What is interesting to me is that in the case when I set the high resolution in 2k and 1080p, in both cases there is no FPS cap problem, GPU outputs locked 119 fps, so, on the one hand, it does not make sense to me that the graphics "struggle" at high resolutions, and then again the description suggest to it. I tried to connect with two different, new DP 1.4 ports, and with one HDMI cable (I don't know which version, but the maximum was 100hz) and the same problem. I've tried turning off FreeSync in the settings (since I'm using an AMD card), reinstalling the GPU drivers, reinstalling monitor drivers, trying turning off Adaptive Sync on my monitor. The monitor is advertised as a G-Sync monitor, but as far as I know it also supports FreeSync? - is it possible that the problem is possibly in some settings within the AMD software? I'm really not sure where to go from here. Any ideas about what could be the problem (Googling even suggested that power supply could be problem?), what else to try, or is it just the GPU dying? EDIT: Some more testing. At least one game (World of Tanks) works fine on 2k ultra graphic when monitor and in-game settings are set to 60hz. I capped FPS to 59 and encountered zero problems. Mid-game I switched to 100Hz profiles, raised FPS cap to 99, and encountered again same problems. Hey there I didn´t change anything despite unplugging the display (samsung u28e590d ) and plugging it back in. At first the maximum available resolution was 2560x1440, now at least for some reason 3840x2160 appeared again. But whenever I set this resolution the screen turns black. The same for games. I reinstalled the graphics driver (running an RTX 4090) and display drivers. Still not working. In GeForce Experience in "My Rig" the Display is listed as 2560x1440, not as a 4k display as it used to, so maybe its software related, which is weird since I only turned off the pc and turned it back on. I have no clue on what is wrong here. I also tried all available display ports yielding the same result. Could it be a somehow broken cable? Once again I didn´t change anything software wise. Only when trying to fix things. I hope its not a damaged gpu, even though I still have warranty. Already ordered a new cable but wanted to ask to see whether you guys know anything certain.

Hello, For the past two months I have been having an issue with my at the time 4 month old PC. Randomly, both displays will go black while the computer stays active. Only a force restart does anything and usually after force restarting, nothing will happen orher than the lights turning on. What I've/ my friend have done: Turned off and on again, Unplugged and replugged everything, RMA'd the GPU (Zotac held on to it for a month and did not say what they did or how they tested the card,) Bought and replaced the motherboard, Swapped the RAM positions, Taken the entire computer apart and put it back together, Switched from Windows 10 to Windows 11 I am past the refund period and spent too much on it to let it collect dust. Any help on what to test or replace would be appreciated. Greetings! First and foremost, sorry about grammatical mistakes since English is not my native language. Second, sorry if this article is too long. I’m in a desperate need of help. i have a pc with this specs: AMD ryzen 3 3100 at 3.8 ghz via ryzen master Asus Prime b450-m 16 gigs of 3200mhz ram XfX rx 580 8gb gts oc (samsung memory) 430 watt psu LG monitor 75hz a random 2nd monitor connected via a DVI adapter msi afterburner + aida64 extreme (maybe my monitoring apps matter) my computer randomly black screens mid game and windows and every other thing in the background is still running but no video output and i have to restart. sometimes when my pc blackscreens, the gpu drivers corrupt and i have to DDU in safe mode and install them again which is frustrating to say the least. i tried every method that were mentioned before such as repairing windows files in cmd and powershell, rollback/update chipstet drivers, update BIOS, install AMD drivers without adrenaline software, install older version of AMD driver via device manager (someone suggested version 23.5.2 without Adrenaline would solve the problem) (by the time of writing this, the latest version is 23.7.1) but nothing. Installing the older version fixed the problem but the black screens are back after 2 days. i run a -20 offset power limit and 85 degrees temp and the card is in silent bios (1350 mhz on normal bios and lower fan curve and 1366 on performance bios with more aggressive fan curve) i run a power limit with -20 offset ( i find the system just a little bit more stable but that may be a placebo effect because basically there’s no difference and i get black screens in both ways) i noticed some strange behavior for example: as soon as the card hit 80 degrees it black screens i was running Furmark to prove my theory and the test would always end (it managed to do 7 back to back runs before the card was heat soaked and reached 79-80) and the system is stable but as soon as the card got hotter that 79-80, it black screens (the test finishes at 100% but shortly after that, the pc black screens) i saw the same type of strange behavior in games too ! sometimes, when i’m in Apex legends, the card randomly black screens no matter what the temp is and sometimes i can play for hours but as soon as i get a champion on the character showcase menu it black screens ! (Idk how it manages to do it exactly after the champion game ends) (these results. Are consistent ! when the card doesn’t black screen in the first 10 minutes, i can play for hours but as soon as i get a champion, it black screens !) the temps in Apex legends are hovering around 75-76 with fans set at 76% or in R6, i can run benchmark on ultra all the back to back but as soon as i go in a match, after a round or two, the pc black screens and i have to restart (the max temp in r6 after a lotta heat cycles and game play is 74-75) (R6 is not as weird as Apex, it’s just black screens after a round or two but sometimes out of nowhere, it’s fine for a long period of gaming until i wanna play on another day and my pc decides to randomly do these things again) but when i play other titles like NFS Heat,LIS True Colors (although my pc black screened one time on this game but after that it was fine), Control, Forza Horizon 5, Detroit it’s fine and i can play for hours ( i could try other heavy titles like Dirt 5, Horizon Zero dawn, Kena or Final Fantasy VII Remake but i didn’t play them and i don’t want to have the fear of my pc black screening in any given minutes so i didn’t touch those games (for example, i went to picnic with my girl one day and it’s was a 4-5 hour trip so i decided to run Control and left my character in a place with lots of lighting to stress the gpu to see if my pc crashes and it was fine ! In fact, i continue to play for like 20 mins after that and then closed the game) Or i play FH5 for hours and the max temp is 75 degrees with fans at 74% and no black screens and i play for hours and hours (since Forza don’t like Riva or Afterburner, i set fans to auto and a -20 offset power limit and close them in background) i replaced the thermal paste on gpu with CoolerMaster Mastergel pro v2 and it helped but the card still runs hotter than i like and sometimes, the fan speed goes from 73-78% under load to 99% in order to cool it down (like keep it in low to mid 70 ish) and sometimes it’s just manages to keep the card cool with fan speed around the normal speed (70% ish) and it has this really strange behavior. (The thermal conductivity of my Coolermaster Paste is 9 w/k) i tried all the software helps that i could find online and i cleaned the card completely all this facts says that maybe i have s weak psu but 1: i had a sapphire rx 570 oc before and it was flawless and 2: there was a guy on reddit with a 6700xt with the same issue and replacing the psu didn’t solve his problem (installing the driver without Adrenaline did tho) so i’m really tired of troubleshooting and i really hope that if’s it’s a hardware case, it would be weak psu because i don’t have the budget for another gpu ( i hardly have the budget for another quality 80+ psu too lol) the only thing i haven’t tried is turning of Freesync or unplugging the dvi adapter but i don’t know what else to do anymore. any help would he appreciated Sorry again for the long article

My Asus ROG GX800vh laptop, which I have been using for over a year Last night I used all fine and shutdown as usual, came from office today and started it up; laptop turns on, fans spinning but no display, not posting and numlock light is on. Things I've tried: Opened laptop and 2 out of 4 rams to see if it boots, cleaned rams and ram slots. Not working. Also, getting access to 2 of the ram slots are tedious thing. Resitteed all 3 SSDs. So far nothing worked. And in google there's not much info about gx800vh. PLEASE I NEED HELP !

I have tried to reseat the gpu and ram, disconnected all cables and reconnected and still nothing. I changed the psu and that did not help. When I changed the gpu it booted to a black screen with the text B2 in the bottom right corner. All help is appreciated.
