  1. Hey LTT, i badly need help because my PC on which most of my work is, has started malfunctioning since earlier today ( 22nd Feb 2022, what a horrible day ! ) Now before we move on to anything else, i just wanted to tell that i had regularly backed up my windows on a portable HDD ( which i can still browse on another laptop ) but when i try to boot from it, it give a blue screen with Inaccessible Boot Device stop code and as a result i cannot boot from my backup , which makes for a very precarious situation as i risk losing a great deal of work if the PC is not recovered ! It was literally my last chance to boot seamlessly but it seems that windows is behaving rather strangely .. So when i started my PC today, i saw that it was taking awfully long to boot ( it usually booted in a minute ) and then i saw that there was a black screen and the white dots were spinning for a long time but there was no progress I am really anxious as to what to do and i 100 % need my PC to work at all costs so, i just need to know what are my chances of getting back my system without losing data ( i am really traumatized since i had kept backups which are useless now ). i tried looking through the many guides of resolving this error but to no avail. LTT is quite literally my last and final hope before i am forced to nuke my system with a fresh re-install, which will be very painful since there was a lot of stuff installed and i had hoped to keep my data intact.. Any help anyone can provide, i will be really grateful to them ! PC Specs : Ryzen 1500x RX 580 8 GB sapphire nitro 12 GB ram 1 tb WD green HDD Corsair TX 550 M Gold PSU i am not going to sleep particularly well today, but i do hope a resolution can be found .. EDIT : i tried booting to safe mode ( all 3 variants of safe mode ) but it does not work . It simply stays stuck on a black screen and NEVER boots ! EDIT 2 : I can clearly SEE MY MOUSE CURSOR on the black screen, but ctrl+alt+del does not work and neither do any other shortcuts ! EDIT 3 : This is very, very strange but i had another hard drive with a REALLY OLD backup - months ago probably. It's giving the EXACT same black screen problem ! I don't know what to do, can anyone help me ?
  2. Hello, I have a problem which only occurs during a gameplay......all I get is a random black screen & a reboot. Sometimes after 1 min, or 10mins or 2 hours. There's no blue screen or any error code whatsoever. I did a stress test on CPU & GPU without any issues, also a mem test, without any trouble. I have all the latest updates. What should I check next? Specs: Radeon RX 470 GIGABYTE B450 Aorus Elite AMD Ryzen 7 2700X KINGSTON HyperX Fury HX432C16FB3-8 SAMSUNG SSD disk 970 EVO 1 TB LC8850III v2.3 Arkangel PSU
  3. Hello Since yesterday my PC won't boot at all. It works perfectly when i powered it off the day before. I don't understand what's goin' on My settings are : MB : Asus Prime A520M-A - Bios UEFI CPU : AMD Ryzen 3 3100 GPU : Nvidia GeForce GT 1030 Memory 16GB Corsaire Vengance LPX 3600Mhz -> The memory was set @ 3200 Mhz 1.35 volts PSU : Corsair CV450 SSD : 512 MB HD : 2T OS : Linux Mint 20.3 My setup is only one year old. So i don't have any Video output, mouses and keyboard weren't powered (no usb port had power). I have unplugged all of my disks, i hope they are ok. The SSD was fine i have already recover Data. Fans (Motherboard - Case - GPU) are turning. Lights of the Motherboard are on. I have installed a speaker on the motherboard in order to perform diagnostics. I don't have any "beeps". If i remove the ram to test it, there's beep. If i remove the graphics card i don't have no "beeps". Is it Normal ? no video card = no beep ? I swap the video card for an old one , still no video output. I supposed that the CPU is ok, the stock cpu cooler don't move and well fixed. I think my MotherBoard is dead but i'm not sure. I don't have spare memory sticks to try them. No spare Cpu. On the package of the memory it says supports intel (have AMD i supposed i wasn't an issue @ that time) Did my memory sticks can blowup my Motherboard ? What are your thoughts , any idea ? Can you Help me ? Thanks
  4. A friend gave me their Sapphire Radeon R9 270 Dual-X to diagnose as it suddenly stopped working in their system. With my test PC, I loaded up a fresh copy of Windows and tried seeing if any of the GPU's display outputs worked. HDMI? No. DP? No. DVI? Yes! Granted, this was just with the basic Microsoft Display Driver, but it shows an image. Here's where the problem gets interesting. I tried downloading the driver for the GPU through Windows update (it might be an older driver, but they typically work). As soon as the AMD driver was installed: black screen, no image. But the fans were still spinning, albeit a little slower than before at a constant RPM. I shut down and rebooted the PC. Interestingly, the GPU outputted an image for the boot screen (motherboard logo + spinning circles), but as soon as Windows loaded, black screen again. I checked to make sure there was still an image by removing the GPU and using my CPU's integrated graphics. Yep, there's an image. So I decided put the GPU back in to see if it would output an image. After Windows' went through the "Repairing your PC" and "Diagnosing your PC" steps, it loaded into Windows with a higher resolution image. You'd think "Ah, success!" But alas: No. Upon launching Heaven Benchmark, a slew of errors prevented the benchmark from launching, citing VRAM errors and GPU detection errors. Curious, I loaded up GPU-Z. It properly detected the GPU. Going over to Device Manager, It also detected the correct GPU, but it had the yellow exclamation triangle indicating that, while it could see the GPU, the driver was either corrupt or not compatible with the GPU. So I decided to use DDU to uninstall all previous display drivers, downloaded AMD drivers from AMD's website, and set my WiFi to Airplane mode after downloading the AMD drivers so Windows Update wouldn't interfere when I went to install the AMD drivers. After a restart, I launched the driver installer only for the installer to say it could not detect a GPU compatible with the software, even though the GPU is listed under the compatible hardware on AMD's website. No problem, I just decided to download an older version of the software on another computer, move it over to my test system, and try launching that driver software. It allowed me to install the driver this time, but when it finished installing the driver: black screen. So it was pretty clear that somehow ANY AMD driver, once installed, was not working properly with the GPU. I decided to try and flash a fresh BIOS onto the GPU. I did so successfully, using the same version it had before, but with the BIOS file from Tom's Hardware's BIOS database for the specific model GPU. Then I attempted every previous test again, only to get the same results. I then tried giving the GPU a deep-clean, scanning over all the components to see if anything was broken / missing. Nothing is broken / missing. So I am stumped, and am assuming the GPU is dead for some reason. If anyone has any ideas, please share! Thanks for reading this far; have a great rest of your day! -Darkroe
  5. So, I've been having this problem for a while... I have a Ryzen 5 3400G, a ECS A320AM4-M3D motherboard, bios "American Megatrends 5.14", smbios 3.2, 8 gigs of ram and Windows 10 Home (10.0.19044 comp. 19044) as my OS, I'm not sure about my power but it looks like a generic 500w. What happends is that randomly in games or even youtube my pc will either freeze or black screen and atop responding, the keyboard, clicks and mouse movement will make a beep noise but if in Voive Call, it keeps running perfectly... After restating (or sometimes turning off and on the pc without having this problem) both radeon software and my drivers will dissappear. I have tried changing versions, to the newest abalible, or older... But it won't solve change things. There was a previos topic identical to my problem, but it didn't help since it didn't get anywhere
  6. I've been experiencing this a lot and I think it is time that I ask for some help. So what happened recently is I turned on my computer and its on desktop but didn't do anything with it for a minute because I was using my phone and suddenly screen went BLACK with a sound of 'Device Disconnect' from windows 10. The sound is exactly like this: So after the first sound, there was a second of silence with a black monitor in front of me and then I heard the opposite of this sound which is the Reconnect Sound. The one you hear when you plug in a usb drive. The monitor lit up afterward. I checked the driver software and found out that some features were gone. The update checker and relive is the one I could remember, but this already happens whenever the driver does this kind of 'crash'. I checked the Performance Metrics and saw that my customized fan tune was reset to default. Again, this happens whenever the driver sort of crashes. Event viewer only shows cpumetricsoverlay crash but this already happens whenever I turn on my PC or whenever the driver turns on or resets itself. The cpumetricsoverlay crashing in event viewer was already a bug in these drivers. This problem happens in drivers: 21.9.1, 21.10.1, and 21.10.2 any help guys? This has been troubling me for quite a time now and to be honest, this is the cause of my anxiety. I am aware that my pc is showing signs of tear but I would like for it to work until I graduate from school and find a work to repair my PC or even buy a new one.
  7. I upgraded an old iMac from a Core 2 Duo T8300 to a Core 2 Duo T9900 (it previously came with a T7700). Afterwards, when attempting to turn it on, the fans spun up, turned off, turned back on and it was stuck on a black screen with no chime. The 3 leftmost LEDs on the motherboard light up, with the LCD LED staying off. I suspect it's to do with the fact that the new CPU has a 1066 MHz bus while the RAM is rated for 800 MHz. Can this be fixed by buying DDR2-1066 modules for it?
  8. Recently, I have been experiencing issues when trying to use Remote Desktop to connect to my computer: After rebooting the system, everything works fine - I can log in remotely or locally on the computer without any issues. The problem is that after "choosing" one option, I cannot switch to the other. So for example if I first log in locally, any attempt to connect via RDP will result in a black screen, followed by the session being terminated shortly afterwards. The same is true the other way around: If I first log in remotely, I cannot get the screen to light up again locally. My system: CPU: i7-8700k, stock settings GPU: RTX 3080 (ASUS TUF Gaming 10GB), driver version 511.65 ([Edit] Now updated to 511.79 [/Edit]) Monitor: Samsung Odyssey Neo G9, connected via DP, 240Hz, 10bit HDR, G-Sync enabled (for fullscreen) MB: MSI Z370-A Pro, Bios 7B48v2C PSU: Seasonic Focus GX 850W OS: Windows 10 Pro, 21H2, 19044.1466 Some observations and attempts: Reinstalled the GPU drivers, no success. [Edit] Also tried to uninstall with DDU in Safe mode, didn't help [/Edit] Windows is up-to-date PCIe Link Power State Management is set to Off The issues only appear after the computer was idle for a while - so if e.g. log in remotely while I'm still using it locally, it works fine I did not have any such issues with my previous GPU that I used until December (GTX 770) I don't really want to disable hardware rendering or the WDDM driver for RDP sessions if I don't have to [Edit] Tried disabling both, but the issue still remains [/Edit] "sfc /scannow" and "dism" found no issues The screen is black, but the computer is still working: I can shut it down remotely via the command line, and access file shares etc. When connecting via RDP after a local session, the login screen appears for a split second before everything going black Sometimes (I guess if I wait long enough for the system to realize something's wrong), I get a critical error in the event log (ID 10111): Any suggestions?
  9. Screen goes black for like 2 seconds in games usually, really annoying. Looks like something refresh rate related but there shouldn't be any problems and I don't know how to start going through the potential causes. I have a 240hz screen and a 144hz screen, I play on the 240hz screen and it's the one that does this. Happens on both borderless and fullscreen mode, and even if I enable vsync in the game. AMD options: I have an undervolt enabled now because it makes no difference compared to stock, I was still getting black screens on stock mv Ram is running like this If anyone went through something like this I'd love to hear what you ended up doing to fix it
  10. hello. yesterday the power went off while the pc was running. after the power returned, i powered it on but i noticed it's taking a long time to post or show anything. the gpu, monitor and hdmi cable are all working and i tried 2 gpus. but whatever i try the motherboard's led will always be stuck on "VGA" even though: IMG_0318.x264.aac.mp4 -there's the gpu info printed on screen at boot if i use a gt 520(video) -a gtx 970 evga sends a signal but it stays black -changing ram shows the "cpu or memory changed! please enter setup to configure your system" warning (after waiting like 15 seconds), with F1 to run setup or F2 to load default values, but it won't accept keyboard input(once it accepted an f1 input and showed "loading setup" but it froze), although the numlock toggle and ctrl alt del work but the response takes 1-2 seconds -both gpus work on another pc the motherboard is clearly sending a signal but i don't know why it's stuck there and it won't boot without a gpu. i tried clearing the cmos, removing all hard drives/ssd and reinserting cables specs: MSI H310M PRO-VDH PLUS Intel i3-9100F 8GB Ram
  11. Hey guys, I need some help trying to figure out what is going on with my PC. While in the middle of gaming at random times, it could be 15 minutes in or after 3 hours, the screen will go black and the system reboots. BIOS is giving me a D6 POST code error. Restarting will not fix. I have to hold the power button and then hit again to get the system to boot into Windows. I'm really all out of ideas on what is going on. I've DDUed and fresh install Windows at least 2 times now. I checked Event Viewer to see if there is anything in there and at the time of the crash, it points to Event ID 41 then afterward numerous Event ID 55 for each core. I do have V-Sync enabled and appears to be linked to this. Specs are in my signature.
  12. Hello friends. I have an issue. While i was playing World of Tanks my screen went blank and GPU fans went to max (gygabite 3080ti). Sound was still running and game was still working. After some time of not getting picture i pressed restart on case and screen didnt turn on while pc still booting into windows (could see from keyboard LEDs and mouse) and GPU fans still running max. I powered off my PC with a power button on case and then tried to turn on my PC and RGBs flahed for like part of a second and PSU was dead. Now i am wondering what is it? Did my GPU die and then it also killed PSU? Did just PSU die? Did it also kill my GPU? Or is there a motherboard issue that killed both parts? Now i changed power supply to older one that i have but it does not have enough wattage for 3080ti so i did not plug in 3080ti instead i used old GPU to test if other parts were working. I switched 2 GPUs to test if it was working. First GPU didnt work (hd 7780) but that card was hand me down from a friend long ago so i dont even remember if it ever worked. Other card was hd 6670 from my old fathers PC that he still uses and that one worked. Now interesting part is that both 7780 and 3080ti (i used different cards before but i sold them, lime rx570, gtx 1080) use PSU connections for power so is that an issue on mobo part? Coz i used different PSUs for each GPU. But again i cant say if 7780 worked at all before. 3d gpu worked. Can i use my low power PSU to just try and power up system with 3080ti to see if it goes to windows? It is antec 650w that i used with gtx 1080. Coz i dont want to return GPU until i am sure its not PSU or mobo, especially not in this GPU market. And i will be returning PSU today. Pc specs: Cpu: Ryzen 5 3600x Mobo: gygabite ab350 gaming 3 (upgraded bios to support 3000 series, cant remember which one but its one of the first ones) Gpu: gygabyte 3080ti gamic OC 12gb Ram: 32gb Kingston (forgot hz) Psu: Antec HCG850 gold
  13. im having some world famous black screen issues with my girlfriends pc. after a while of just using the pc as normal (nothing straining or special) her monitors go black and stop recieving video input. the pc is still running perfectly fine in the background. It seems to me that this is some kind of graphic driver issue but i just can't get it fixed as it's impossible to get any acurate cause for when the screen goes black. I've tried updating drivers, changing drivers to previous versions, updating windows, checking for corrupt files,... but at last after a few hours the issue persists. I'm hoping some of you might have some further ideas as to causes and fixes for these general black screen issues as most of the stuff i find when searching is just a copy paste of the previously mentioned fixes. I'ts not the monitos as they're both new and work fine on other devices, i'ts probably not the hardware as everything runs fine before and after the screens go black so i'm guessing im missing some software related stuff somewhere. I hope someone can help me fix this! specs (although they probably don't matter much): intel i7 2600 RX580 8G ram thanks all in advance!
  14. I need help with my Oculus Rift CV1 (Touch) and 2 sensors. The last 3 weeks i`ve been fighting with this problem but i found nothing that helped . . . So basically whenever i open my Oculus software and try to do something it wont let me do anything cause there is a ´Hardware Error` and my Oculus screen is just black. I tried to plug it in my Laptop but it doesnt work there either ( it only dupes the Desktop Screen ) and when I plug my headset into a USB 2.0 Port it tells me it's plugged into a USB 3.0 Port ( I use a Inateck USB 3.0 HUB ) It worked fine till i tried to plug my headset into the Inateck USB 3.0 HUB cause i had no USB port in my pc then it was kinda glitching and then it 'died'. I have tried several things : - Plug and Unplug USB port ( I tried several mixes between USB 2.0 and 3.0) - Last driver of my graphic card (GTX 1050 TI) - Last update of Windows 10 - Delete and Download the Rift program several time. - Reboot the PC - Unplug the cable in the helmet, inspect every cable - I plug the rift in my HDMI port of my graphic card and I try with a adaptor for my DVI port. - I activated the Oculus Public Test Channel - I also contacted the Support but i got nothing back since 2 weeks - Scream and Cry I really dont want to spend alot of money on something that will fix it since i dont have a lot and i spend all mine on the headset.
  15. Hi guys, I will skip the formalities and go right into the problem to be brief. I am playing League of Legends and suddenly my display goes black. My monitor says no input detected. All the fans in my pc are running at max, as seen (or rather heard) in the bottom video. My gpu is connected to my primary display via DP and secondary display via HDMI. There is no input into both of these displays. Swapping the hdmi cable from my GPU to my MOBO also does not give a display. (But even in the usual course of events, as I am writing this now, my MOBO doesn't give and output to my monitor. I have to press the restart button on my case to restart my pc and solve this issue. This issue has occurred 2 times today, within a span of 3 hours. It has occurred one time in the past but I forgot if I was playing LoL. (I'm not a avid LoL player, as I only play it whenever theres urf, so I'm not too certain whether I was playing LoL when it happened). PC Specs:
  16. Hi, I bought a 3070 a while ago because i needed a new one at one of the worst times to need one. I gathered some money and found a legit eBay seller who was selling a 3070 for a fair price for what the market was like, and it was one of the newer ones that had the crypto thing to prevent people from doing their thing. Anywho, i recieved it and it ran quite well for a couple months. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, i was playing cs:go which isnt very graphics intensive, and it blackscreened on me. My monitors refused to display anything anymore. I removed the cables and plugged them back in again. Still nothing... I turned it off, turned it back on, and i got back on cs:go only to have the same thing happen. Restarted again, but this time i played something else, and nothing bad happened. It happened a few more times here and there randomly, and now im here, and its just done it around 3 times today. Some extra info about the occurrences: - Its not overheating, i have software open that shows me how my gpu is doing. - The RGB stayed on the first time iirc, but i might be wrong. A couple times it just turned off, and a few times the RGB flickered. - The first time, my pc turned off after a while, or i think it did because my discord cut out and my fans stopped. Since then, i just turn it off when that happens. - ive speculated it might possibly be something to do with my PSU but im really not sure, i think its a GPU issue. If anyone can help id greatly appreciate it! If you need more info i can for sure help. Maya
  17. Hi everyone. So recently I helped a friend of mine put together his PC, unfortunately (maybe not?) I was the one who recommended him to buy the 3400g with the b550, I was not aware of the incompatibility issue. Nonetheless, thankfully it posted, we installed windows, the drivers, and everything seemed to run fine. The issue started when he tried to game. Every time he tries it runs for a few seconds and then black screens. Now I'm not sure if this is due to the incompatibility or something else which is why I'm here. When I researched this, almost all videos that showed that the 3400g posted stopped there. I cant find any videos for successful gaming or even just being in windows. So my question is, does posting and being able to run windows with these specs means we're in the clear and the black screen issue while gaming is due to a bad driver maybe? or is this ultimately a compatibility issue? Friend's PC specs: CPU: Ryzen 3400G Mobo: Gigabyte b550m DS3H RAM: Kingston hyperx fury 2x8 3200 MHz CL16 SSD: Kingston NVME NV1 500Gb
  18. Hey guys I'm sure there's ppl out there having the same issue, I did read a lot of topics and tried solutions that was given but none worked... First let me give you my specs Ryzen 5900x Noctua nhd15 Kfa2 GeForce GTX 1060 OC Aorus b550 pro v2 RM 750x 8x4 lpx 3200mhz ram (code: CMK16GX4M2B3200C16) 1x SSHD 7200RPM Seagate ironwolf 1x m2 sata samsung Evo Now here's the story, I bought new parts about a week or so (cpu, mobo and cooler) everything worked fine, except that I had to update the BIOS. And yesterday I tried to enable xmp which worked too. But the dumb guy I am, I tried a setting for no reason I think it was called ram multiplayer or something like that, i know it was the multiplayer corresponding to the MHz of the ram so, 32 was the default, I put 36...and the end. No post, no BIOS nothing. I got the dram light on Spinning fans The GPU fans starts spinning for a second or so then stop And when I've noticed that when I press the restart button the led for cpu alert turns on rather than the dram one, but then quickly go back to dram light when the restart button is released. I tried to switch ram modules, put only one in the A2 slot CMOS clear + making contact to the 2 pins clear CMOS things I unplugged my GPU, cpu and ram then tried a q flash BIOS, which it kinda did I guess since the light was flashing then stop flashing but after that the pc tries to reboot after that even without components in it except my drives I kept audio, USB satas and other things plugged in as I wouldn't see those giving me a problem.
  19. My monitor randomly goes totally black for a few seconds, like it switched modes or changed resolution or something. Everything else keep running fine, nothing crashe, and all input seems to continue to work as well during the black screen. Everything continues fine when the display returns after a few seconds. This occours in game mostly but has happened on while watching Youtube. and while just on the desktop. I have done all the usual things. PC is up to date, run DDU and installed latest drivers, replaced the DisplayPort cable (This new one says it is VESA certified for DP 1.4). This is happening on my new monitor but was also happening on the old one as well. Google comes back with the usual vague answers but nothing has worked. It seems like it is a common problem so I'm hoping to find someone here that can help me. PC Spec: Windows 10 fully up to date CPU Ryzen 3700x RAM 16GB GPU ASUS ROG-STRIX-RTX2070-O8G-Gaming Mobo ASUS Strix X570-F Gaming New Monitor - ASUS TUF Gaming VG34VQL1B (34inch - 165hz - Display Port 1.4) Old Monitor - Samsung LC27HG70QQUXEN (27inch - 144hz - Display Port 1.2) I am running Afterburner to apply a small OC on the GPU,but I've tried reverting OC to stock settings but the problem continues. Also tried turing on GPU scaling. My current working theory is there is some sort of issue with using FreeSync on nvidia cards. I've just now turned off FreeSync on my monitor so I'll report back on the result. If this does fix it I don't see a proper solution. - Update, it just happened again, watching a youtube video full screen, freesync was off.
  20. So sometimes I have a black screen with no post. This usually happens after the PC has been shut down for a longer time, like some hours, a day or many days. After restarting it seems to boot up just fine and everything seems fine while I am working or gaming. I can restart it many times but I won't encounter the issue, this only happens at the first boot attempt.
  21. My gaming PC that I built keeps blue screening and not waking up from sleep. I think it might be faulty memory because I got the popup message below. These are my specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor CPU Cooler: ARCTIC Freezer 34 eSports CPU Cooler Motherboard: MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard (motherboard was just RMA'd because the USB 3 header was only half-functional) Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL19 Memory Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL19 Memory Storage: Samsung 860 Evo 1 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive Storage: Intel 660p Series 1.02 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Video Card: EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 12 GB XC GAMING Video Card Case: Corsair iCUE 220T RGB Airflow ATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply: Corsair RMx (2018) 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro OEM 64-bit Wireless Network Adapter: TP-Link Archer TX3000E PCIe x1 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax Wi-Fi Adapter Case Fan: Corsair iCUE SP120 RGB Pro 52 CFM 120 mm Fan Let me know if you have any suggestions as I'm not entirely sure what could be causing this. My computer blue screened the first couple of days right after I built it but then it stopped doing it and I just upgraded from an ASUS RX570 to the EVGA RTX 3060 (thankfully I got one) and now all the sudden its happening again.
  22. Hello there, it was time for a new PC and as graphics card prices are still horrible, i decided to get the AMD Ryzen 5600G. However then things started to go wrong... Whenever i try to install any AMD Graphics driver, Windows 10 crashes with the infamous blue screen Every time I try to restart the Blue screen is there immediately. Compatibility Mode works fine (with bad resolution). Here is the Setup: CPU:AMD Ryzen 5600G Mainboard: MSI B550M Pro-VDH (without Wifi) RAM: 2x 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4-3600 CL18-22-22-42 Kit Graphics card: - PSU: Seasonic Focus PX 80+ Platinum 550W Display: Viewsonic 32" 1440p 144Hz How I got there: After buying and assembling the PC, it didn't boot - As expected. I flashed the newest stable Bios via USB and Mainboard Flash button. When i then went into the Bios, the RAM was running at 2100MHz insted of the advertised 3600MHz... I toyed around with some XMP settings and got Windows 10 to run at 3333MHz (Higher didn't work). Then I installed the recent Chipset drivers and AMD graphics driver and started work. After a few minuted while doing some MS Word stuff, Image errors started to appear (see picture). Those space invader things got more and more and the screen randomely went black for 2 seconds before going back into space invader mode. I then restarted the PC, put the RAM back to 2100MHz and reinstalled the newest AMD Graphics driver - A fatal mistake... The PC crashed and can't load into Windows. It's just immediate blue screen every time... Compatibility Mode does start, but is no solution for the long run. After reinstalling Win 10 (without installing any AMD drivers) it got better. There were still sporadic 1-2 second black screens and some space invader shenanigans, but only after a few hours of work. And a quick restart fixed the issue for another few hours. However, after a few days i just wanted to get this damn thing to work and installed the latest AMD drivers (they released new ones in the meantime). Boom - Blue screen and can't load into Windows... Conclusion: I really need help. Is there anything I have missed? Any RAM incompatibility, or older drivers that might work? At this moment I am thinking about returning the hardware... but I don'T even know what part is causing my problems... or is it really just the Software? Any help is appreciated
  23. I have upgraded my gpu from a 1050ti to a gtx 1080 strix recently. Every now and then the monitor turns black and says: "No Signal". When this happens i'm forced to hard reset my pc fixing the problem, until it happens again. I have an average 60hz 1080p monitor with vga output, thus i'm using a VGA to HDMI adapter. I have observed that my gpu has sag, it's tilted at the end bc it's bigger than the 1050ti that I previously had. I put a toilet paper roll under it's corner to slightly fix the problem but this usually results in the fans going full jet mode....have no idea why. Please ask for any mor information, i'm looking foward to find a solution to this problem Setup: i5-7400 gtx 1080 2x8gb ddr4 ram psu 650w + some rgb fans
  24. I have a Gigabyte GTX 1060 Windforce X2 OC 3GB that I picked up used for a graphics design based purpose build... At first everything seemed fine, but then I discovered after having the card for several weeks that it will only detect the first monitor I plugged into it after putting the build together. An LG ultrawide (Model WK900 I think). It will not detect any other monitor what so ever. All other monitors display a blank, black screen once Windows loads the Nvidia driver. To be clear, here are the things I've already tried. Initially I tried different cables, then I tried even more monitors. It just didn't make sense, so I then plugged in the monitor I initially set this build up with and it works without any issue at all... So I then tried all cables with that monitor to make sure I wasn't crazy and sure enough all the cables worked fine, but if I plugged in any other monitor the screen would go black as soon as Windows loaded. I figured it must be a Windows issue so I attempted a Windows repair, but it wouldn't find anything to repair. I was able to boot into Safe Mode using any monitor, but if I boot it regularly as soon as Windows got to the login screen it would go black... After more testing I determined it was when the Nvidia driver would load when the the screens would go blank. I tried reinstalling the driver several times, I tried both the studio and game ready drivers, both the latest and older versions of each. Same results each time. I even found that if I let Windows boot with the monitor that the graphics card seems to like and then swap the cable to a different monitor the different monitor would show the screen, but when looking at the settings Windows and the Nvidia control panel both were reporting the monitor that does work was still plugged in even though it was not... And of course with the monitor that will work plugged in, no other monitor would be detected when plugged in as a secondary monitor. I did everything I could think of short of a BIOS flash and a Windows reinstall, against my better judgement I did a Windows reinstall, and nope still same issue... So then I put an old HD 5450 in the computer and the GTX 1060 in a different slot. I used GPU-Z, nvflash and techpowerup to find my BIOS and reflashed the card... SAME ISSUES... I tried two other BIOS versions that were older and still the same issues.... Mind you, the HD 5450 while in the machine worked with any monitor I plugged into it. I've never had this problem before. It seems as though for some reason something on the graphics card is just stuck only detecting this one specific monitor and it will not detect any other monitor. As long as the computer is using a generic vga driver any monitor works, but as soon as the nvidia driver loads, only this one specific monitor will work... The card works as expected with the LG monitor plugged in, no performance issues or crashes, I stress tested the system before calling it complete. Go to put it where it was intended to be used and plug in the monitors and peripherals at that desk and that's when I discovered the issues. I'm at a complete lost, never had this issue before.
  25. S: tried different ram slot and it works so its just a ram problem. I started playing game then after about 20min and then its black screen but you can still see on the screen that its Working its just the screen is too dim so i tried to uninstall the gpu using ddu now im using the intel gpu it started blinking now not black screen i tried to put my monitor on its working fine anyone had any idea to fix this one Specs: Dell 7577 i7-7700hq 1050ti 4gb 16gb ram S: reposition my ram just the ram fixed evrything Srry for my english V_20211008_200842_OC0.mp4
