Hi guys, i was about to upgrade my cpu because a a10 5800k isnt enough for my r9 290 xD. But now i met this fx 9370 wich is the same price as the i5 but its a 8 core so now im not sure wich one i want. So is the i5 better? I know it has better single core preformance but the fx beats at multicore (ofcourse since its a octa). Most important for me is ofcourse the preformance i will get when playing games such as arma 3, Rainbow six siege and soon battlefield 1. I just want a non-biased oppinion. And i want to know if the FX or I5 is better in REAL preformance because we all know intel mostly beats amd in the cpu part, so i dont care if the fx got 2 fps more in counter shite or whatever i want to know the overall raw preformance of these 2 cpu's

So, I've got a 4690K cooled by a CRYORIG H5 Ultimate inside a Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV ITX. I have a Bitfenix Spectre Pro 200mm fan on intake in the front and a 120mm version of the same fan on exhaust. The CPU idles at around 34 to 36 degrees with it rising to between 43 and 45 when I've been watching YouTube for a while and goes into the mid-50s when playing something like Portal 2 for a while. GPU idles around 50 to 55 degrees with the fans turned off and heads to the mid 70s in-game. a) Are these temps ok? b) Would it be worth my while to switch out the 200mm intake to two Corsair SP120 High Performance edition 120mm fans I have lying around? Would the temps decrease? Would it be louder? Right now the PC is kinda quiet and I don't want to make it much louder. Side note: Today I was watching the YouTube upload of the WAN Show on my PC in Chrome and I noticed my GPU got up to like gaming levels of temps and usage(70 degrees, about 60% utilisation). Is this normal? It has never happened before with any other YT vid and I was slightly concerned. Vid was being rendered in 1080p.

Hi, I would like to know that if is was to use a static IP address and set it to France when I am in the UK. Would I get a better connection to French servers or would it not effect it. My only thinking is that if your using a vpn in a different country you always get better ping to a server in that area. Much appreciated, Ben

Hello guys take a look at this: http://wccftech.com/nvidia-pascal-gtx-1080-8gb-1070-launching-summer-debut-april-gtc-2016/ Should i go for 980Ti or its worth waiting for GTX1080. Also what do you think will it outperform 980Ti? Is it worth at all to wait for the new generation?

I am planning a new build and cant really decide between the 980 and the ti . Are the extra 200$ worth it?
-
So I have an extra $100 to my computer build. I am wondering an if I should change my Intel i5 4690K to an i7 4790K or use that $100 on a Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 High Airflow ATX Cube Case This computer is for gaming, & I don't know if I should have better ventilation or a better CPU. BTW, current case choice is: Thermaltake Commander G42 Window Mid-Tower Chassis Thank you

So, let's get down to the point. I'm kinda a phone noob and I'm upgrading to a new smartphone soon. I'd like your advice on which I should pick, the Motorola Moto G 2015 (the 1GB RAM 8GB storage version, the 2GB RAM 16GB storage version is not available on upgrade for me) or the Vodafone Smart Ultra 6. I'd like: 5" IPS screen or larger Android, with minimal bloatware Storage is not important as I have a few microSD cards around Quick for web browsing Moto G Pros and cons: + Confirmed updates to Marshmallow + Compatible with dbrand vinyl skins - Less RAM/storage overall than the SU6 Vodafone SU6 Pros and cons: + Better technical specifications than the Moto G + Larger 5.5" 1080p screen - better for media consumption - Not confirmed updates to Marshmallow AFAIK - Larger screen - worse for ergonomics (I have small hands) I do a fair amount of media consumption with my devices as well as messaging and web browsing, and the occasional picture. I'd really like it if you could give me your verdict on what phone you would choose out of these two, or if you deem it necessary suggest alternatives that fit my needs under £150 or so. Thanks everyone, I welcome suggestions

Hi, im just going to get striaght to the point. I am looking for a 144hz/120hz monitor under £240/$340. If it could have IPS with it that would be good if not a TN that produces half decent colors. Saying this how much worse are TN panels compared to IPS because i have only ever had an IPS monitor. Here's a few i have been looking at so if you could help me choose between these that would be good or if you can find an even better monitor within my budget then amazing! This asus one is my favorite so far: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-VG248QE-24-inch-LED-Monitor/dp/B00B19T7QC/ref=pd_cp_147_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=1PZWMWA9KKWNXV3RKSQC&dpID=41WiNKwv9vL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL70_SR70%2C70_ http://www.box.co.uk/Benq_Xl2411Z_24_LED_3D_1080P_Gaming_Mon_1551974.html?gclid=CjwKEAjw1_KwBRDEz_WvncL4jGwSJAAEym0d2ClpUodYCovbDq-nQxHimlqA0MiSMYw1hk13CH1hnxoCZuzw_wcB http://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-25UM57-Ultrawide-Monitor-2560x1080/dp/B010JRGIR2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1444755911&sr=8-1&keywords=lg+ultrawide http://www.amazon.co.uk/AOC-G2460PQU-Widescreen-Multimedia-Kensington/dp/B00C144AYK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1444748671&sr=8-1&keywords=144hz+ips http://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-GN246HLBid-inch-Monitor-EcoDisplay/dp/B00IG0Z0HY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1444749602&sr=8-1&keywords=Acer+Predator+GN246HLB Please look on UK sites since that's where i am buying from also the "MONITOR MUST BE VESA MOUNT COMPATIBLE" Thanks, Luke.

I've heard that the K95 has LED issues but it has more Macro keys , on the other side the G910 has less macro keys and weirdly shaped keys but looks more gaming like. I have the Logitech G402 mouse and im planning on getting the newest headset form Logitech aswell but cant decide what keyboard. Which one in your opinion is better?

Hi everyone, I'm planning a mini ITX build, and I've currently got my eyes on a Node 202 from Fractal design. I'm wondering if anyone knows of anything better? I've had a little look at the NCase M1, but they're pretty pricey and out of stock for the configuration I would want if getting that. (White: with DVD slot) So, what's the best Mini-ITX cases you know of? --Edit-- Here's my current list of hardware I'm planning to get: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/vjhdhM Anything priced at £0 I already own. --/Edit--

Hey all, Recently my Logitech G430s snapped at the head adjustment bar thing. They still work just fine but are currently stuck together with tape. So now I'm in the market for a decent headset for gaming/basic communication. Looking for one around the $130-$160 AUD mark. I have $180 but shipping will probably cost around $20. The two in the title seem pretty good from what I can see. Corsair Gaming VOID 7.1 USB Gaming Headset Carbon or Razer Kraken 7.1 Chroma RGB USB Gaming Headset I could also save for a bit longer and get something better I was thinking wireless for a bit, but all I hear (no pun intended) is horror stories of the connections being horrible Thanks in advance - Lachie

So I just reinstalled Windows and I'm downloading my GPU drivers. I have an 290X by the way. Then I got thinking. Should I download the beta drives or the standard ones? From my understanding a lot of people just get the beta drivers because they have the newest bug fixes and optimizations. At least that's what I did. So anyway my question is have any of you AMD or Nvidia users had any problems that have to do with you using beta drivers? Whether that be crashes, bugs or anything really. I don't think I have, so I just stick with the beta drivers.

Hey, guys. It's about time that I do a Windows re-install, but recently I've become interested in Windows Server. From what I can tell, Windows Server is just Windows, but stripped down in someways and beefed up in other ways to make it more useful for server use. Now, it may sound like I just answered whatever question I was going to ask, but I'm still interested in using Windows Server on my main rig. The main reasons I would want to run Windows Server on my main workstation are: It being a server OS I can only assume it's built to be more stable and reliable than a standard bleeding edge OS, I've heard that it's cut down on all the background processes in Windows that aren't really useful for a server, and last, It just seems like it cuts out a lot of Windows bullshit like forcing you to update and making you link up a Microsoft account among other things. I know i'd be missing out on some of Window's features, but to be honest, I don't care. I don't give a damn about Cortana! I am however, very interested in stability. Although there are exceptions of course, for the most part, the only updates I care about are updates that improve performance, stability or fix a bug. If you know anything about Linux distros, then I want to use Windows Server over Windows for some of the same reasons someone would want to use Ubuntu LTS over Ubuntu. If I'm incorrect about any of my reasons for wanting to use Windows Server, then please correct me. What i'm curious about is are there any reasons why I shouldn't use Windows Server on my main workstation. I mostly browse the web, play games, dabble in game development. Maybe some applications won't work? Maybe Some drivers won't work? Maybe my computer will blow up if I install it on anything other than a Xeon? Really just any reasons why I shouldn't use Windows Server as a desktop OS. Thanks! TL;DR: I want to use Windows Server as a desktop OS on my main rig. Why shouldn't I?

Which is better for my i3 or i5 for my GPU
Vasich17 posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Hey guys, so I am planning on building a pc with a GTX 960 2gb, and I wanted to buy an i5-4590, BUT I started watching benchmarks and the i3-4170 had absolutely NO impact on the fps, it was exactly the same as the i5. So what I wanted to ask is whether or not I can save my money and buy a i3 cpu rather than waste my money on the i5 if it has no impact? -
MSI: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127889&cm_re=msi_gtx_980ti-_-14-127-889-_-Product EVGA: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487142 In terms of specs, they're very similar. IMO the MSI one looks better. I'm not sure which company is more reliable, though I've heard great things about EVGA. What do you guys think? Edit: I'm worried about reliability and (if it fails) customer service more than anything. I've heard EVGA is great but haven't heard much about MSI one way or the other.

Is better to use rechargable AA or 18650? Hi guys I am planning a new build and I was wondering which CPU to choose. I am stuck between the i7-5820k and the i7 6700k. The Pc will mainly be used for gaming and content creation. Which one is better?
-
Hi everyone, first time posting here I'm currently choosing parts for a pc that I'll use for the following uses: -Gaming at medium/high settings at 720p and 1080p. I'm not a pc enthusiast so 30fps is fine with me. - Livestreaming 2x a week at 720p - Daily 1080p video editing/rendering (I run a youtube channel) - Daily 3D modelling (I am a freelancer so in this case time will equal money) I can fit either into my budget, but which CPU would work best, the i5 4690k or the basic i7 4790? Basically I don't want to waste money on something that won't fulfill its potential. Here are some other specs I plan to use, if it helps: GTX 950- GPU 450w PSU 250GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD - Solid State 1 TB WD BLACK WD1003FZEX - Hard drive Thanks everyone, Tim

So I want to get a phone but idk what to get. Performance for the price is definitely the main factor. All the new hype for iPhone 6s plus is crazy and idk what to get (I'm not really smartphone savvy). There are these other smartphones that I am considering (especially the Moto X Pure). I love the customization of android and the overall look of the phones. I also like the nice optimization of the iPhone and the fast use. I don't really know about the camera, iPhone is 12 mp but people say its better than a 20mp camera on an Android. Is this true and would it be versus the Moto x? Also the moto x pure is probably a lot cheaper than the iPhone 6s plus. (I really like the gestures on moto like shaking it for the camera and karate chop for flashlight). I want the phone that is just fast to use, good looking, great camera and enough memory. Any suggestions? And please add any info you think is important. Thanks !!
