Hello , so my gpu recently died. It was a gtx 1660 with a dvi output that supported 144hz. Now i am upgrading soon to a 6650xt and have a old b350 board lying around and was wondering if i can run the 6650xt over the main pcie x16 slot and then use the 750 ti on the other x16 slot. The reason for doing this is because my monitor only supports 144hz over DVI-D which my 750 has but my 6650xt doesn't. I play some competitive games where i want to utilize the full 144hz that my monitor offers which is only dooable from my 750 ti but i also want to play newer singleplayer games at good settings which i can only do with my 6650xt. So i was wondering if i add both my gpus into my mobo but only plug ONE of them at a time to my monitor , will the monitor gpu run at the full pcie lanes? My processor is a ryzen 5 3500 which can only handle 16 lanes at a time so im not sure if the GPUs will get divided into 8x2 or run at 16 when i use only one of them.

Ok so I have been trying to troubleshoot this MSI B350 PC MATE motherboard and nothing has worked. I got it about 3 weeks ago and since the day I got it, it has given me problems. Well only one to be exact, it shows a red CPU debug LED on the board and I checked the compatibility list on MSI's website and it says the board should work with a Ryzen 7 1700, I have tried everything...tested without the GPU and that didn't work, I tried different ram sticks in different slots on the board to no avail, tried clearing the CMOS and that also did nothing, checked for potential bent pins on the CPU and as expected the CPU is fine, tried a different CMOS battery which also didn't work, tried putting the GPU in a different PCI-E slot on the board and that didn't work either. I would like to mention that I got into the bios ONCE for like 15 maybe 20 seconds before the screen blacked out again, after that I couldn't access the bios again. So at this point I am clueless as to what the issue could be, I did buy the board second hand and I did ask the guy to send me a video of the board working and he did. He has a Ryzen 5 2400G in his system and it worked fine with the board, any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I'm working on troubleshooting using cheapo minimal parts and I'm double-checking compatibility of boards & CPUs from eBay, and I'm watching auctions that expire within the day. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gNgX8r Combining an MSI B350 Tomahawk with an AMD Athlon 3000G or any other Athlon processor that uses the AM4 socket yields a corresponding compatibility warning as quoted below. Is this erroneous as I suspect? As far as I can tell they are perfectly compatible. Or is there something I'm missing? Any info is appreciated. "MSI B350 TOMAHAWK ATX AM4 Motherboard and AMD Athlon 3000G (14nm) 3.5 GHz Dual-Core Processor are not compatible" Thanks!!

Hey Folks, I have a 5800X3d on a b350 bazooka (I know, I know...) with a Noctual NHU12A. The CPU is stable and in the mid 30s C at idle, but under load it shoots to 91C. Gaming and browsing are fine, but video encoding or benchmarks send it over 90C. The b350 BIOS has a simple fan control, but I verified it is going to 100% fan over 70C. Unfortunately, I don't have any PBO control that I can find, and I am wondering if it could be on and causing the heat. Anyone with the 5800X3d care to share their cooling solution and the performance they are seeing? Looking for advice. If I need to upgrade the MOBO for PBO control and that is the issue, I could do that too, but I want to verify that is the issue. Thanks in advance.

Hi guys, I just made this account because I'm not really sure where to turn but here's what's going on. I'll try not to keep it too long but I wanna really explain what's going on I upgraded my Cpu from an r5 3600 to 3800x so that I can do more productivity stuff as I'm getting into that now, old build as listed: R5 3600 -> R7 3800x 4x4GB 3000mhz Corsair Vengeance -> 2x8B 3200mhz T-Force VulcanZ (not necessary but is an option) Msi B350 Tomahawk GTX 1660 650W PSU Been on the newest BIOS for a while as well (I dont feel comfortable installing the beta BIOS they have now) So first I put the 3800x in with the old RAM... no POST, the board has debug lights and 2 lights both for CPU and RAM turned on. Idk if it helps diagnose, but my case fans turned into a jet engine whenever those lights were on Then the T-Force (in dual channel slot 2 & 4, the first channel labeled on the board) and took the old RAM out , I got in BIOS but couldn't get to windows. It just ended up crashing. This only happened once by the way, every other time no POST with the same lights turned on Put just one of the sticks in (Slot 2) and it booted like it never had a problem. Then tried dual channel again but in the other channel (slot 1 & 3) , no POST and the same lights wind turbine and all. Then I had the weird idea to just throw the RAM in slot 1 and 2, it booted fine and I played csgo for the rest of the night so it was pretty stable. But I'm pretty sure I want dual channel in my life Woke up and tried slot 3 and 4 on their own (1 stick in each, both taken up, even booted my pc a few times slowly adding even the old sticks of ram which could also only use slots 1 and 2 to get a POST) no POST if slots 3 OR 4 are occupied at all Thought my motherboard was broken so I threw my old cpu in and pretty much went back to the old build, all the old ram and everything... it boots as if nothings wrong. So the slots work and cpu-z says dual channel works What's going on then? It's weird because to be honest I bought the 3800x second hand, but I saw it working in the sellers house with a full motherboards worth of RAM before buying I've tried loosening the cpu cooler, theres no bent pins, I've cleared CMOS, and I've done a whole lot of turning it off and on again Thank you in advance :)

So, about 2 years ago I bought a Gigabyte AB350M-DS3H and aquired a Ryzen 2200g PRO. I knew from the start that I wouldn't have support for Ryzen 5000 series and that was fine (due to the MB pricing at the time). However, after watching LTT latest video I couldn't help but wonder: what is the possibility of 350s MBs supporting the Zen 3 CPUs, even if through the use of an unofficial BIOS mod? Has it been done successfully with any 350 already? And what about this specific Gigabyte MB (GA-AB350M-DS3H), are there any mods for that? And what about VRM cooling; would that really be a problem and how easily can you solve it? I don't really plan on getting a Zen 3 CPU any time soon, I don't have that kind of money right now, but it would be nice knowing that people are trying and maybe, when I do, there will be a stable BIOS that allows me to save a few bucks

I'm moving the components of my pc to a new case and im buying a 5600x along side that, and I was wondering if a b550 board is worth it? I know it wont be a large increase but I don't know fully know what the benefits are either. p.s: for context the current motherboard I have on rn is the msi b350m mortar.

Alright so there's some parts I definitely need to replace in my system soon, but with the current supply situation I have to make my upgrades carefully. windows 10, 64bit ryzen 1700 asrock ab350m, not sure the bios version but I know I cannot downgrade without risking bricking. 16gb CL16 RAM (3200mhz currently clocked down to 2400mhz for stability) rx5700 with some mods seasonic psu The issues: #1, system freezes, no BSOD. No dump files are being created, I can't get it to BSOD even if I wait a while, and it happens both when I push the system or I'm just idling. Odd caveat; the display drivers will be 'corrupted or missing' when I hard restart it. I really, really can't have this be a bad GPU in all honesty. #2, decreased performance while gaming benchmarks, renders, and compiling generally don't seem affected. I can screen record with GPU acceleration with zero dropped frames but the game itself has lost 30-50% FPS over the past few weeks. More demanding games like beamNG took the largest hit going from 90 average to less than 60 now, interestingly though, cp 2077 has stayed relatively the same. #3, 'hiccups' Noticed this in renders and while testing with benchmarks recently, basically both CPU and GPU with drop drastically in utilization for a second. No dropped frames on a recording but still an interruption on the graphs. Thermals also take a small dip, which is how I first noticed this while rendering over GPU. Happens at the exact same time for both CPU and GPU, and again, seems to happen regardless of which one is being utilized more. #4, having to reduce OCs Throughout the past few weeks I've steadily had to reduce my CPU clock and RAM speed to avoid the BSOD. I used to run an OC of 3.7ghz on the 1700 @ 1.38v and the RAM would actually hit 3200mhz. Thermals have always been good on my PC, even at the highest of clocks my CPU never went above 72c and the 5700 hasn't thermal throttled itself under an arctic accelero iv. I'm trying to source a spare am4 motherboard from a friend to do some testing, but unfortunately nothing has been separately validated. This 1700 was a silicon lottery winner for sure and I'm honestly not keen on giving it up just yet. I know the mobo is a POS so maybe it's finally time to swap it out? not the most economical thing but it would hold me over for intel's big.little and whatever am5 holds. I just want to avoid the current silicon market tbh. Thank you so much for any help you can offer; really appreciate your time for just reading this mess. hope you all have a good one

What's started as a slight upgrade to my 2017 build has gone wrong. So wrong. My previous build was - Ryzen 5 1600X - EVGA 120 AIO, push/pull - Asrock B350 Gaming ITX - EVGA 650W White - Corsair Vengeance RGB 16GB 2x8 3200 - Gigabyte 1050ti OC - 3TB 3.5 HDD - M.2 SATA 256 - Cooler Master Elite 130, with 2 fans for the radiator, a side 120mm for intake, and the tiny 80mm that came with the case Now, to add some context, I live in a south-american 3rd world country. High import taxes, except for an tax exception on purchases on US for up to U$S 200, 3 times per year. The GPU was starting to deteriorate in late 2018 (random crashes, then started to work only by applying force in one corner, and only posted randomly), and there ain't no customer support here to validate the warranty. So, I take to well recommended GPU expert, well reviewed... who went of the grid and took mine and many other GPUs. That's what happens when there are few qualified technicians. To recapitulate, no decent GPU until mid 2020 when I got a GTX 970 for U$S 70 (hindsight, not a bad deal, considering the current situation), previously was using my father's GPU, a R7 250, but I replaced his for a basic GPU with his permission (he only does basic office work). Was able to play a bit (some compiling an programation, emulation, gaming, tweaking a bit settings, some game didn't work unless I changed res and details), but the low memory was starting to show, cleaned up, at least I had a working desktop. Then a friend started to ask me about getting a new rig, prices, parts, you know the deal, I was hooked. I had some extra money, and managed to snatch a 1660 Super for U$S 200 less than what usually relails around here (shortage has worsened everything), so I was happy. Then one of the people I asked for quotes for my friend, answered weeks after I emailed him... and he was offering a 3600x for US MSRP. Sealed. New. Here. Couldn't pass up. Here's where it starts to go wrong. I update the BIOS to support 3rd gen Ryzen, the system posts... then crashes 10 seconds into BIOS. Try and earlier version. Same. Try going up incrementally BIOS versions. No dice. Changed the RAM kit with one I had laying around at my first try in 2017 but couldn't get to post at full speed. Nothing. Changed the PSU. Nada. The guy that sold it told me to take my time, test it, and then wire him the money or just tell him to get it back (even if I broke the seal, I offered some money to cover it up). After looking up, looks like it was a common thing with some B350. Then I remembered I had another B350 I got for cheap in my first attempt, but was mATX. Could it be the motherboard? It was the motherboard. So I got the system working, the intention was to sell the mATX parts with 1600x, but now I'm selling the ITX, 1600x and case. Got a lousy tin can case, classic mid tower, to house the mATX build and AIO, but after going ITX... it didn't felt right, I usually got the Elite 130 sideways with rubber feet and GPU facing up, over my desktop. Was looking the local market, best I could find was the Cooler Master Q300L but was basically the same size as the tin can. I get browsing, nothing came close to the Elite 130 (it was barely SFF under 20 liters, but I had that case since my previous 2013-2014 FM1 ITX build, and I liked that case). My best guess was the chinese Metalfish S5 that Linus reviewed last year, checked most of the boxes, but had to triangulate China-US, then US to my country via PO box (see previous about tax exempted importing). Wasn't gonna be cheap. And then I chatted with a local dealer, that posts on local forums, and suggested a case in Newegg that never appeared in my radar: the SAMA IM01 for U$S 60. It checked all my boxes, size, compatibility, looked like a slighlty bigger NR200. How come I never heard of this one,? Some reddit post show that it was popular in Vietnam, and was just recently started to sell in the US, is eerly similar to the NR200, but just slighlty bigger to fit mATX boards, and ATX PSUs. I still don't understand how there aren't more post about this case, specially after how well received the NR200 was, this one looks to beat it in paper. So here I am, waiting for Newegg to ship it (let's hope they don't cancel my order because of some fine print). But it if all goes right, this could be my next case for the next 7-8 years or more, as the Elite 130 was before, with even more compatibility and lower price parts (ITX parts, lower profile coolers, AIO, SFX). PS: Sorry for the crappy english

Hello there, I posted earlier today but got no answer. I think I posted in the wrong place and for that I'm sorry. Hopefully this is the right place. I want to upgrade from a 1600x to a 3600 but I fear stability issues on my b350 board, because I started to have some after the bios upgrade. Config: MB - Gigabyte AB350 gaming 3 CPU - 1600x PSU - Seasonic S12II 620W RAM - Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 16GB DDR4 3000MHz CL15 Dual Channel Kit GPU - RX580 4GB A few days ago I flashed my bios to the latest one (F51b) from the first one (F3), following all steps: 1. Updated windows 2. Installed latest AMD chipset drivers 3. Installed bios in the specific order from the documentation. Issue 1) 1600x has problems reaching 4.1ghz which it did before: Checked in aida64 during a stress test and the 1600x no longer boosts to 4.1ghz, instead it stays stuck at 3.7ghz on all cores all the time. Does the same thing in gaming, never reaches 4.1ghz. However when I'm not gaming or doing anything in particular I can see it spike at 4.1ghz occasionally in aida64 statistics. Issue 2) BSOD: The first day after I got a couple of blue screens, nothing major, everything seemed to be Ok-ish. I started getting them today as well out of nowhere. I have no idea what's causing them. I also gamed for two 4 hour sessions and didn't have any issues, but when I'm just browsing the web it sometimes BSODs. I will try to scan the QR code next time. How do I fix this? Will I have the same issue with the 3600? Already ordered a new PSU: Super Flower Leadex III Gold, 80+ Gold, 750W in preparation for a new GPU (50$ msrp variation 3070 or 6800) Thank you!!

I've got a gigabyte AB350M-HD3 paired with a Ryzen 5 3600 with 8x2 16gb kit of 3600mhz Corsair vengeance RGB pro. (don't think the mobo supports 3600 so I'm at 3200) I've tried changing the CMOS by switching off the power putting the new battery in and leaving it for a few minutes and shorting the pins yet it still resets the bios after I switch the plug off

So I recently upgraded from a 2700x to a 3600 (i only game don't need the extra cores and wanted to upgrade to a b550 board soon) and I have been having a huge issue ever since i switched to the 3600. I did have to install a beta bios on my MSI b350m gaming pro mb to get ryzen 3000 compatibility (which I am planning on buying this motherboard if that is a fix) I have tried multiple games, same issue, tried a clean windows install still nothing. Does any one have any knowledge of a beta bios breaking direct X? Or is this a time where I should RMA my CPU? (well aware the limitations of b350, got it when i wasn't as knowledgeable of PC's) I just wanna play gtames and cannot even play with my friends 10 minutes util my game crashes. I have tried every other potential fix to the "DirectX has encountered an unrecoverable error" and I am lost. Thanks.

Hi, I have MSI tomahawk b350 paired with ryzen 1600 in Deepcool matrexx 55 case. I am unable to use the speaker and mic of my headphone using a single jack. I am able to do this on my laptop. They both work individually but not together i.e. I get audio out from speaker jack and mic with mic jack.

I have asus b350 board and ryzen 1600 with 8gb 2400 single ram stick..i need to add more ram..So i thoight to buy same ram stick to work as dual channel but..soon i will need more and faster ram...and by remaining 2 slots... I Want to add 16gb single stick And then other 16gb stick after.. My questions are these - 1. 2x8gb sticks plus 16gb (faster)single stick 2. 2x8gb stciks plus 2x16gb (faster) sticks 3. 2x8gb(2400mhz) plus 2x8gb(3200mhz) sticks.. Can any of these ram configuration work with dual channel enabled ...? What will be my best bet..i somehere i read that 2same size ram plus 1 large size ram will work as interleaved memory ..and it will be best for performance..I read it on this https://www.compuram.de/blog/en/single-dual-and-multi-channel-memory-modes/

Good day, as my title suggest I have been experiencing a no audio/sound comming from my asrock b350m pro 4, it all started when I just restarted my pc because installed logitech g hub. I have tried the following: -reinstalling audio driver (the driver came from asrocks website and realteks website)(I aslo used ddu to uninstall the audio driver) -resetting the bios to defaults -reseat cpu, ram, gpu -reformatting my os -disabling and enabling onboard audio in bios -updating bios to 5.9 -trying back panel audio with removed front panel audio As you can see in the screenshot I attached, the realtek driver can be seen in the control panel but there are no audio being detected in the device manager. A logitec z120 is currently plugged in the audio out at the back of my motherbaod and a set of headphones on the front panel audio. The only audio I have as of now is from my gpu through the hdmi output. Is this a hardware problem already? If it is can I still use my pc safely or should I wait for the covid-19 case to subside and purchase new mobo? P.S. the only part that I have with warranty is my gpu since I plan to upgrade my mobo and procie already but due to the pandemic I havent yet Specs: R 3 1200 2x4gb crucial ballistix 2400mhz galax gtx 1660ti 250gb 850 samsung evo 1tb wd blue

So I currently have 3600x (upgraded from 1600) Gigabyte AB350-Gaming Ballistix 16gb (2x8) 2666 My motherboard says memory speed is limited to 3200, but 3600 is better for Ryzen 3200 is also cheaper but 3600 would be better long-term But If I want 3600, I have to switch motherboard. What would you do?

Hi there. I'm looking to upgrade my Ryzen 2200G --> Ryzen 5 3600. I'm currently using the MSI B350M Mortar as my motherboard. MSI's website says it's compatible with Zen 2, but there has been no BIOS update since? I'm a little confused on this one. Can anyone clarify this for me?

Greetings everyone My PC has been working flawlessly for 1,5 year now. Today I swapped my GTX 1050ti for 1060. Everything was working ok, then I swapped back to 1050ti to run some benchmarks and make sure everything is ok with it before I sell it. I put it and turn on the pc, but forgot to plug in the power 6pin cabel, so I had to shut down the PC. After I plugged the 6pin cabel and turn on PC, I don't get any display and my keyboard and mouse LED's don't lit up, so I assume they don't work. Every system, CPU and GPU fan work, also LED's on motherboard and GPU work fine. The EZ DEBUG led's lit up in that order: 1. CPU and DRAM ON at the same time 2. CPU and DRAM OFF at the same time 3. CPU ON, then DRAM ON. 4. Both OFF at the same time Then points 3 and 4 repeat a few times. What have I tried to fix it? 1. Tried with one memory stick at the time. I tried both memory sticks, it didnt help. 2. Reseted CMOS by both removing battery, then shorting CMOS pins 3. Unplugged every drive and USB device excluding mouse and kb. 4. Tried both graphics cards. Nothing has helped. I assume that either MOBO or PSU is not working properly. Can I do anything else to fix it? My PC is: MOBO: MSI B350 Tomahawk CPU: ryzen 1200 GPU: Msi GTX 1050ti / Zotac AMP GTX 1060 6GB PSU: bequiet System Power 8 (500W with 80 Plus) DRAM: Patriot Viper 2x4GB 3000MHz

Hi everybody, I'm using this PC (specs bellow) since almost two years and never had problems with it. This weekend I had to move it between two houses (cause I got vacations and came to my parent's house), so I normally disconnected all the cables and put the PC in the car. I was careful enough to carry the PC with me the entire trip to make sure nothing would collide with it or something. So, at this point the PC was working perfectly. When I arrived I started remounting the desktop and when I turn it on no video appeared in the screen (I tested both my monitor and its HDMI adapter in my laptop and it is working fine). The CPU fan was running perfectly, the MOBO leds are on, but the lights of the USB devices did not turned on and in the monitor just appeared "No Video Input". So, that's my problem: No video output, CPU fan running, MOBO leds (decoration only) working, USB devices does not receive power, and it doesn't seems to boot up at all. Before continuing with what I tried to do, my specs are: Asus Prime B350M-A, The last BIOS update I remember of doing was the AGESA 1002 update, and it was about a year and half ago Ryzen 5 2400g 2x8GB DDR4 2400Mhz from China (16GB total, never had problem with those sticks before, both sticks are the same model) No dedicated GPU, I use the Vega 11 from Ryzen EVGA 500w PSU Raid 0 between two Kingston A400 240gb Sata SSDs (480GB total, this is my boot device, Windows 10 directly Microsoft installed) An old 1TB HDD from my old laptop I also had RGB led strips and additional RGB fans that I disconnected some weeks before So, I disconnected every single device, both USB and SATA. Left only the Mobo, the Ryzen, one stick of memory, the power button and the monitor, and tried to turn on again. Again, the same black screen. I also tried changing the RAM slots, removing the RAM completely, and removing the CMOS battery for some minutes. Nothing changed: The blank screen persist and the USB devices does not turn on. I also noticed that sometimes pressing the power button for some seconds does not cause the PC to turn off, and sometimes it does. I have knowledge about hardware (actually a technical degree, but I don't work in the area), and I work as a software developer. So I'm not a complete beginner, but at this point I don't know what to do anymore. I also don't have any friends near me that uses AM4 (neither DDR4) to test single components. So, thank you all for reading, hope someone can help me
