Hi there I'm thinking of upgrading my PC for gaming purposes, here are some specs: CPU: FX4350 (w. CM Hyper 212 evo CPU cooler) Ram: 16 GB 1866MHz MoBo: MSI 760gma p34 (fx) GPU: 1060 6gb mini I would like to upgrade for some better performance in games. None of the very newest, so I don't need the ultra-max-extreme treatment. Just some smoother gameplay. As of now, I can either afford to upgrade MoBo, RAM and CPU. Or I can afford to buy a GTX 1070 My question is, what would be most efficient? I am aware that I can sell my old GPU for some of the cost of the 1070, it's only about a month old and have never been above 60c. But I'm gonna have to buy the other three parts in combo and won't be able to afford the GPU upgrade, even minus the takings from the old GPU. Which will not be a viable option when upgrading the combo, since that is veeeeery old The combo that I'm looking into is: Ryzen 2600X (only about 10 dollars more than non-x variant) Corsair Vengeance 16GB 3000MHz MSI B350 PC Mate Or an upgrade to the EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW GAMING ACX 3 As I'm very new to PC-building, but I find it interesting, I would appreaciate all the feedback I can get. But on choice of upgrades - brands and items. But especially to which one of the two I should buy (first, maybe) I'm living in DK, so prices in your region might not be comparable, but I would also welcome suggestions of what to look into, if you have other suggestions of roughly equal prices. Also, I'm looking into AIO water cooling my - new - CPU, if I get that. Not immediately, but over time. So any advice of which to buy for my CPU of choice would also be welcomed Thanks in advance - Kasper

Hi all, A few days ago I decided to ditch my 6700k and finally go back to AMD after probably a decade of owning Intel chips. I got a 2700X and an ASrock AB350 gaming-ITX Fatal1ty-whatever board. Plugged in my M.2 SSD, my 32GB kit of 3000MHz DDR4 and my NH-D14 with the appropriate mounting kit and it booted smoothly right away. The issue I'm having now though is that I'm seeing significantly lower performance than I was expecting. My CB15 score is around 1650, where reviews seemed to be showing above 1800, even with older X370 boards. I've noticed that while temps are fine around 65°C, my CPU immediatly clocks itself down to 3.9 GHz the moment I run Cinebench. Even the single core test won't cause any of the cores to boost above 4GHz. The CPU runs at a constant 4.025GHz on idle, but clocks down to 3.9 the moment I start doing anything heavy. I'm wondering if I made a mistake cheaping out on the motherboard. I searched the BIOS for any options like enabling XFR or anything like that, but I found nothing. Cooling and RAM speed aren't the issue, the only thing I can imagine would be some sort of power limitation on the motherboard preventing the CPU from going above 4GHz on any of the cores. Should I send the B350 board back and get an X470 one, or is this a different issue?

I have a problem with my ASUS Prime B350 Plus. I'm trying to undervolt my CPU (Ryzen 2400G), because the default voltage (1.45V) and, as a result, the temperatures are way too high (as high as 95 degrees under load), even though i have 3 case fans apart from the CPU fan. However, when i set the offset value (0.2000V) and reboot my PC, it won't post. Once i manually restart it, it posts into safe mode, but once i go into UEFI and choose my OS from the Boot Menu, it boots into it and everything works just fine, the temperatures are much better as well. Now, of course, having to restart my computer twice every time i want to use it is not something i'm looking forward to. What's the problem and how can it be solved? Some more things that i've noticed: - I tried playing with settings (Line Load Calibration, Core Boost, etc.), didn't help - It doesn't matter what offset value i put, the PC won't post with any offset I was able to post with -0.12500, but it won't go higher. So far, the temperatures are OK, but they're even better at -0.20000 - Settings offsets for SOC doesn't cause that kind of behaviour, though it doesn't help the temperatures either - I tried replacing the stock thermal paste with Arctic MX4 and re-installing the cooler, didn't help - I tried going back to default settingsn, re-installing the BIOS and resetting the CMOS battery - didn't help - In case it helps, the memory i use is Crucial 8GB DDR4 CT8G4DFD824A Any help would be appreciated!

Hi, there! I am a newbie for overclocking AMD ryzen CPU. In recent days I just stock at overclock my memory. Here is the story. The short version is, when I insert the memory into DIMM-A2 and DIMM-B2 slots to form dual-channel, any kind of memory overclocking is invalid and leads boot fail. The long story is... I setup my desktop four month ago, here are the settings of my baby: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700X Eight-Core Processor MEM: G. Skill F4-3200C16D-16GTZR Mainboard Model : ASUS TUF B350M-PLUS GAMING with the newest bios Version 4011, with Update AGESA 1.0.0.2a + SMU 43.18 All things are going to be fine after assembling these stuff. I boot up the system and enter the bios setting interface, just enable the default D.O.C.P profile(3200MHz at recommend timimg). However, It is stuck. Then I slightly drop the frequency to 2800, It works! However, today I am told by someone that my memories are not formed as dual-channel mode. The two memories have been inserted into DIMM-A1 and DIMM-A2. So I reinstall the memory. Then, any kind of memory overclocking is not working, and the frequency is set to the default 2133MHz. Even when I enable D.O.C.P and set the frequency to 2133MHz, it still fails to boot. Besides DOCP+2133MHz+1.35v won't work either. So Any help for me?

Hi there. First post so if I have made a mistake please tell me. I was wanting to ask for help with overclocking my DDR4 kit (Crucial Ballistix Gaming Sport LT DDR4 32 GB RAM Kit (4x8gb)) as I need every last bit of performance out of my Ryzen 5 1600 (running on MSI b350m mortar mobo running latest bios). I have overclocked my cpu to 3.85ghz at 1.3125v and it is stable at 65 degrees max load on air. (I know a little bit about cpu overclocking but not tons). This could probably be higher but I am just playing it safe as dont have the money to replace it (although if there are higher overclocks which will be safe for 24/7 high usage please tell me). The important stuff about the ram. The ram (Crucial Ballistix Gaming Sport LT) is running at 1.2v 2400 Mhz with timings (16 16 16 39). AIDA says DRAM FSB Ratio is 36:3 if that helps. Any more information I can happily provide. Do you think 2800 mhz at decent timings is possible? I dont want to kill the ram in any way as hugely expensive atm (I won this in a comp a few years ago) so something that is comfortable for this would be great. Thanks so much in advance!!!

Preferrably under $100,or $120,please? OMG I forgot specs.Could be important... Specs: AMD Ryzen 3 2200G Palit GTX 1050Ti(might change) G.SKILL 8GBx1 DDR4 2400MHz RAM(F4-2400C15S-8GNT) should be all you need 1 SSD only too TIA

I am planning on getting this board with a Ryzen 3 2200G. It says my CPU works since BiOS 3203*. I have looked everywhere and I can't find anything saying which BiOS this thing comes with or if it supports my CPU out of the box. If anyone has this board and bought it within the past month or two, what BiOS did it come with? If you don't have it but want to help, feel free to try and find something on the internet somewhere. I just really don't want to update the BiOS or something. I don't have any other Ryzen CPUs (because this is my first build) and don't want to go through the process of getting a BiOS update kit. Thanks! *It says that here.

I'm building a new PC and I am planning to use a ryzen 2600x. I'm thinking of getting a motherboard with a B350 chipset but that will require a bios update. The motherboard I'm looking at is a Gigabyte GA-AB350 gaming 3 AM4 AMD motherboard. I was wondering if i can run the computer at first without the bios update or would there compatibility issues that would cause it not to run. If it does what can i do to make it work.

Wassup guys,so I am planning to build my first ever pc next week and I already got some parts while some of them are on the way.For cpu I chose to go with the r5 2600 along with the asus rog strix b350-f mobo which I will update. But my question is:Will the cpu run well on a b350 or i will have any problems? The problem is that I find b350-f so gorgeous and I can’t to not buy it and I wanna know If is it worth buying a b350 or going with a x370 and why.Oh and also will I have any problems with the g.skill aegis 8gb 3000mhz on this build?Sorry for my bad English tho and thanks for ur time:)

my computer an amd r5 1600, asus strix b350f gaming, 16gb of gskill ddr4@ 3000mhz will (seemingly and) randomly crash, and reboot, like no power off sequence the screen goes black the indicator led goes red and it turns back on, i also have problems with it crashing, screen goes black everything is unresponsive the power button doesnt even work i have to flip the psu switch, i have lost many unsaved projects, and its just generally annoying.

The system turns on and stays running but my monitor doesn't receive a signal. It does respond to me turning the computer on though. I've tried removing battery and clearing CMOS but same thing happens. No screw stands are touching mobo either. The store promised me they had updated my prime b350 plus to latest bios. Should I be getting a black screen with an old bios? I though there would be a message saying unsupported CPU or something.

Hello All I'm at my wits ends with a new computer build. I'm starting from the ground up and the only things I'm taking from my old computer are the case, power supply, video card, and hard drive which i will use as a secondary media drive. Currently that drive has windows 7 installed on it. I have made a bootable flash drive with windows 10 which I would like to install on the new SSD. however the computer will not post or get into the bios unless I clear the cmos and remove the battery. It will then get into the bios but only once. If I restart the computer I need to clear the cmos and remove the battery again. I have disabled the HD mode in the ab350 pro 4 bios which as I understand could cause the above issue but that did not solve my problem and I still need to remove the cmos battery everytime I want to make it to the bios. (EDIT: Now the system wont make it to bios even after clearing cmos and removing the battery). I don't see the ram I'm using on the qvc list for this motherboard but everywhere I look I'm told it should work. It is marked as ryzen compatible after all. Furthermore in the bios I see the system is recognizing the ram as 3200 c14 14 14 34. I have no reason to believe that there is anything wrong with my gpu and it even displayed a message when I forgot to attached the six pin connector. I believe I assembled everything correctly and have checked to see that there is adequate standoff between the MB and case. I've added electrical tape and a couple of pins that were sticking out but I don't think they were shorting to begin with. I did start the system with one of the sticks half way inserted but I fixed this and the ram read in the bios fine after this. The problem appears to be related to the cmos. I'm not sure what to do from here. besides RMA'ing the MB. Here is my parts list. 1 x ($297.33) AMD RYZEN 7 2700 8-Core 3.2 GHz (4.1 GHz Max Boost) Socket AM4 65W YD2700BBAFBOX Desktop Processor 1 x ($219.99) G.SKILL Flare X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) AMD X370 / B350 Memory (Desktop Memory) Model F4-3200C14D-16GFX 1 x ($99.99) Patriot Ignite 2.5" 480GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) PI480GS25SSDR 1 x ($74.99) ASRock AB350 Pro4 AM4 AMD Promontory B350 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard 1 x ($89.99) EVGA CLC 240 Liquid / Water CPU Cooler, 400-HY-CL24-V1, 240mm Radiator, RGB LED with EVGA Flow Control Software My video card is a gtx1050ti. An ASRock B350 Pro4 motherboard is going for $55 after mail-in-rebate, but I want to get the new 2600X. I know the new 450 boards should have precision boost 2 and xfr 2 so do you think its worth missing out on those for a good deal on a B350 board?

Hey guys, Gonna be building a new PC real soon (next couple of days) and am looking at the Ryzen 2600. I have been reading mixed stories on the internet about them not being compatible with B350, other people are saying the B350 have been shipping with the updated BIOS since January. Whats the case here? Has anyone had any success buying a B350 and it working on arrival without having to upgrade the BIOS? I really dont mind getting the boot kit from AMD but if I dont have to go through the hassle I wont. What B350 do you all suggest for a 2600? Thanks

Hello my name is Thomas. I have not been able to overclock my Ryzen 5 1600 on an MSI B350 Tomahawk and i don't know why the software is telling me that neither the cpu or the mobo supports it. My OS is windows 8.1 64 bit. if someone could shed some light on the problem that would be great.

My Motherboard, the ASRock AB350M Pro4, has 2 M.2 Slots, for SSDs, one is labeled "Ultra M.2", which is both a PCIe 3.0 x4 Interface, and a SATA interface. The second one is just a SATA interface. Which one should I use? (Im using a Western Digital Blue 3D NAND M.2 SATA SSD, 500GB) EDIT: Also, which RAM Speed should I use? I am going to use an R5 2400G, I want memory speed to be stable. So 2666, 3000 or 3200? Also, Single Rank or Dual Rank RAM?

Just did my first boot up and test of a Ryzen 5 1600 build, everything went great. Except these dumb fans. I bought an econo-pack of 5 Arctic F-12 PWM PST case fans because they're cheap and have great airflow. They even have this weird syncing feature with the CPU fan. Ok, neat. Plugged 'em in, and BAM. Nothing happened. Ok, I'll set fan curves. I go into BIOS and fiddle with the curves and even try maxing out, but the fans won't even spin up. They're not even reporting their RPMs to the motherboard. So the fans are 12V 0.25A fans, 4-pin to 4-pin, what gives? I tried multiple configurations of cables, and even tried a fractal design GP-12 dynamic 3-pin fan, and it worked fine, but the Arctic fans wouldn't budge. I mean, I did get them from Platinum Micro through Walmart, so not the best supply chain... So what's the deal? Did I get bad fans? Is my motherboard to blame? Am I just a noob at PWM curve-setting? Is there a way to simply test a fan's electrical capability in isolation? Any and all help appreciated. (Attached is a graph of PWM fan speeds for the fans from Arctic's website to serve as an example of how they're supposed to function)

First of all sorry if my english is very bad. So, i have a R5 1600X but i dont have my motherboard yet, so i was wondering if a B450 chipset will be better for my cpu instead of a B350. I know that some motherboards of Zen first generation had issues with bios and memory compatibilities. Maybe on the b450 those problems are solved at launch, idk. And maybe some features not strictly linked to Ryzen+ architecture could work on Zen first. Thanks in advance.
