Good day lads I built my first system like a month ago with a GA-AB350M-Gaming 3 Motherboard (Rev 1.1) Also: Ryzen 3 2200G 8 Gb (2x4Gb) Hyperx Fury RAM 2666MHz Problem is every BIOS update I manage to find via the gigabyte @BIOS app or their website says it is for Rev 1.0 of that model. Would it be any different to install one of those? Do I have to search specifically for the Rev 1.1 updates? Also would like to know if BIOS updates have a great impact on the performance of a rig, or if I can just leave the BIOS it shipped with. Thanks a lot

Hey guys so my best friend got some money together and asked me to choose and assemble a computer he said he had to be small (itx) good for gaming, streaming and CAD. Here's the parts: Ryzen 7 2700 Asrock Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming-ITX/ac G.Skill 16GB (2xGB) DDR4 3000MHz Aegis Now for the problem. I assembled everything and turned it on and all the fans spin but no post, I immediately thought either incompatible memory or incompatibility between the new Ryzen chip and the last gen mobo. Any opinion on what the problem is and what's my next step? contact the seller? Mobo manufacturer? AMD? None of the repair shops in my city in Portugal have a last gen Ryzen to do the bios update. Should I just return the mobo and ram, and buy a B450 and official Ryzen supported pack respectively? Help, We are lost and frustrated

Hello, I have some questions concerning my ASUS Prime B350-Plus motherboard. I have 2 LPX Vengeance 8GB 3200Mhz and my motherboard seems to lock them at 2133Mhz. I updated BIOS then tried to manually set them to 2666 (without using DOCP). It restarted twice and settled it again to 2133. So i checked the compatibility between the ram and motherboard. It was on the list with a "DOCP3200" maximum frequency. When i enabled "D.O.C.P" on my motherboard and restarted, after a few minutes, the famous "blue screen" showed up (something about kernel) And before doing anything without really knowing i must know : -Why i can't manually set the frequency to 2666Mhz for example. (since it should be supported and doesn't need any OC) -Is DOCP safe for my motherboard? When i read about max frequency on the user manual the max frequency is 2400Mhz (but it doesn't even work.) And on the Asus supported ram pdf i can only see "DOCP3200". Thank's in advance for your help.

Built my first PC two weeks ago, everything works fine but when I tried overclocking the PC didn't post. The LEDs were lighting (the CPU cooler and peripherals too), the case, the CPU and GPU coolers were spinning, but the PC just wouldn't start. There was no video signal as well. After a CMOS reset everything worked as good as before the overclocking attempt. I tried to do it after a BIOS update, got the same results. After the second failed attempt I tried Ryzen Master with the same settings (3.8 Ghz, 1.35 volts) and it worked perfectly but the program didn't save my settings after a reboot so I let Ryzen Master go. I know that this is the CPU forum, but I tried to overclock the GPU as well, but neither of the programs I used (MSI Afterburner and Radeon Settings) saved the settings, after a reboot every tweak was gone (as it was with Ryzen Master). GPU: XFX XXX Edition RX580 CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 Motherboard: MSI B350 PC Mate RAM: 2x4 HyperX Fury Black 2666 Mhz DDR4

Hey Guys, So I bought a used system a few months back it was a really good system back in the day HD5970 with AMD Phenom X4 940 (DDR2). I am not a serious gamer so it was a perfect system for me considering the price, the cooler master case and 700W PSU; which i can reuse when i upgrade. Not considering the fact that the system doubles up as room heater when playing demanding titles it was sufficient for my needs. But now a few games seem to bottle-necked by the CPU, and I am looking to upgrade the MoBo and CPU, and maybe upgrade the GPU after nVidia 20 series comes out. Ryzen is the path i am inclined to, but I got confused when choosing the Mobo, B350 does not support crossfire (officially), to be more technical it does not support dual PCI-E slots. I am almost 95% sure that it wont be an issue for me, but I coudn't find any articles to confirm it, will a B350 mobo support my HD5970, which is a dual GPU card in crossfire.

i downloaded the latest bios for my mobo from msi, and I didn't do any thing after that. I don't want to screw this up.What do I do next?

I'm planning on buying a B350 MOBO (GA-AB350M-HD3) now and wait for the rumored and expected 2300X. Do you think that they will be compatible from the get go or do I need to lend an older CPU to update the BIOS like other zen+ processors? It does have BIOS revisions for the other zen+ processors. Thank you in advance.

I'm stuck between the Asus Prime B350-PLUS and the GIGABYTE GA-AB350-Gaming (not the Gaming 3). Both are about the same price right now and i'm undecided. Could do with some more opinions

Hello, so im wondering about the maximum current capability from the ASUS Strix B350-f Mainboard. I found out that its running in an 4+2 Configuration using the 4C09B as highside and the 4C06B as lowside mosfets. But i cant find a spec sheet for them to determine the maximum current capability. Any ideas ? Thanks !

I am planning to upragade my old pc, and I want to buy a ryzen 5 1600. What is the difference between B350 and B450 chipsets? Does it worth to buy the more expensive B450 motherboard? I am on 300$ budget for the cpu and motherboard.

I'm clean installing my PC where I will be installing Windows 10 64bit. I will download, and install the Audio and LAN driver directly from Asus. Audio: When I installed the latest Audio driver, it didn't install the Realtek, nor Sonic application. I'm also confused why the latest Audio driver is only 147MB, when the previous version is 645MB. The version before that again is 642MB, and the version before that is 466MB. It's tempting to just install the 642MB driver which seems to include the Realtek and Sonic application. I also went over to the official Realtek site to download the driver, but again it didn't install the application. LAN: I installed the latest LAN driver, but when I launched the .exe file, nothing happened. The driver is only 2.9MB, where the previous one is 158MB, the version before that is 317MB, and the version before that is 147MB. it's tempting to just install the 158MB driver. Why doesn't the latest drivers have everything in one? Or let you choose what to, and what not to install. Asus also recommends to uninstall previous driver version before installing a new one, so I guess that rules out installing old drivers to get the applications you want, to then install the latest one. So I guess I shouldn't install all drivers from oldest to newest. It's only the Audio and LAN drivers I will be installing from the Asus site. The chipset I will get from AMD. Hi all, I have come here looking for answer's. After much research i am still not sure about max safe voltage and CPU degradation for my Ryzen 1500x, for 24/7 long term overclock. So currently i am running my 1500x at 3.85 @ 1.35v with the wrath spire cooler and its all good. It can do 3.9Ghz @ 1.4v any lower and its not 1005 stable. Now here is what need to be educated on, there are many sources that say AMD says 1.35v for ryzen CPU's is the max voltage for long term overclocking and that voltage above this with start CPU degradation. But there are just as many if not more saying 1.4v everyday long term overclock is safe and it is voltage above 1.4v that will start to degradation. When running stress tests for stability my highest temp is 73c and during gaming the highest i have ever seen is 58c so i know cooling will play a important role. Now the second thing i need know is if running at 1.4v 24/7 is safe for the CPU, is it safe for the VRM's? On the my Asus B-35O Prime Plus. I currently have simple case with a 120mm intake and 120mm exhaust for over all cooling, along with the wrath spire CPU cooler. So i am not new by any stretch to enthusiast PC building or overclocking but in the last year i have decided to come back to PC gaming so i had too upgrade my i3 6100/GTX 950 system. So thanks in advance Mac

Hi! I'm on a really tight budget and i need something like a b350 under 70$ that can oc because the RYZEN chips are quite cool at stock clocks and I wanna be capable of using that extra oc-ing space. Im going to be using a r5 1600 because they really dropped in price and they have the same performance as the 2nd gen. If you can find something on amazon that's under 70$ that would be awesome. Also if you can find me cheap ram that is 2666 and is a 1x8GB stick that is compatible with ryzen. That would be appreciated.

Building a PC, Already have CPU (Ryzen 3 2200G), but would you say these parts are good for a budget build? GPU will be added on down the road. still deciding on a case, but that's not a problem. When installing the PCIe wifi adapter (TP-Link AC1300) into my system, my computer appears to boot, however there is no output from my GPU (RX 460). the fan of the GPU spins, the chassis and CPU fans spin, and a green light on the wifi adapter lights up but beyond that the system doesn't do anything. I'm using a Ryzen 1300x CPU on the Asus TUF b350m mAtX mobo, with an M.2 drive and a HDD for storage. The motherboard manual and other forum posts online say that I can have a GPU in the PCIe 3.0 x16 slot making the PCIe 2.0 x16 slot act as a x4, which should work with the wifi adapter but that doesn't seem to be the case here. From what I know about the motherboard and chipset, the M.2 drive should disable SATA ports 5 and 6 and not occupy any PCIe lanes. Are there anything BIOS settings to remedy this? Am I forgetting something really obvious or am I SOL? Feedback is appreciated.

Hi I have been experiencing some problems concerning my motherboard, when I boot the PC the CPU and DRAM EZ Debug LED's show and will not post therefore I have to hold the power button in to switch of the PC and then reboot the PC of which the same problem occurs however when I reboot the PC for the third or forth time it boots into windows however the GPU LED is indicated instead meaning that it is not detected but my PC is Ryzen therefore does not have on-board graphics. Could my motherboard be faulty? My set up is: - Ryzen 5 1600 CPU - 2x 4gb Corsair 3000Mhz DDR4 RAM - Zotac GTX 1050Ti GPU connected via DVI at 1080p 144Hz - MSI B350 Gaming Plus MBD - Samsung 850 EVO 250gb SSD - Corsair cx500 PSU - Windows 10 Pro 64-bit Thanks, Reece

This is my first time building a pc and I have some questions. 1) is there anything I should change or add to my part list. 2) can I overclock my 2400g to 3.9 ghz and igpu to 1600mhz with the stock wraith spire cooler? If not what is a cooler I can use to do that. here is my pc part picker link of my components: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Bradish06/saved/PhCNNG Thanks in advance

Been trying to build a system for a long time, and the RAM prices have finally got me. Has ANYONE got this RAM kit working at the rated speed on the Asus b350 Prime Plus Motherboard on its latest BIOS update? https://www.newegg.com/global/ae/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820236039&ignorebbr=1 CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3000 (PC4 24000) Desktop Memory Model CMK16GX4M2B3000C15W. I am aware of the other RAM kits by corsair which are compatible, but this the cheapest and I am REALLY tight on the budget.

So, here is my first build, and I have a few questions. Just wanted to let you guys know that I'm gonna be using it primarily for game streaming. Anyways, I'm planning to buy parts when I go to microcenter in a few days, but I have a few questions. First off, will the 1060 bottleneck the 2700x? Should I just go with a regular 2700? This probably sounds weird, but I want to know if I should go with a 2700x or 2700. Also, I've heard a lot of talk about x470 mobos. I think it would be above my budget, but is it worth it? I'm pretty sure that this particular mobo has the right BIOS for this CPU (not 100% sure tho), but what are the advantages of an x470 and should I go for one or is the Asus Strix B350-F good enough? (Note that I won't be doing any OCing) Lastly, I read something about the max ram speed on motherboards, and I was a little confused. It said that B350 mobos only supported up to 2666mhz, and x470 supported 2933mhz, but how come I've seen people use DDR4-3200 with this kind of mobo? Should I go for something with a slower ram speed? Again, apologies if these questions seem kind of stupid, I'm new to this. Feel free to tell me any other changes you think I should make to this build. Cheers!

"Just got a Ryzen 5 1600, MSI b350 tomahawk, and 2x[4]gb [G. Skill 3200] ddr4 in the mail. I've put everything together correctly, but I don't get any boot. All the lights come on, GPU fans spin, CPU fans spin, but monitors are black, and mouse and keyboard don't light up. There's no beep code, but there's a light for "CPU" on, on the debug LEDs. It's not flashing, just a solid light. Everything else functions correctly, so what should I do? I've tested ram, reset CMOS, all the usual. DOA cpu or board?" I have the same Issue as this guy, but I can seem to solve it, I also constantly get blue screens on Windows with "clock_watchdog" errors and others as well. Like stated before, everything is working, fans spinning, just the CPU light red on the motherboard and no beeps to accompany it. I'm also rocking the GeForce GX 750 Ti so does that have anything to do with it? I haven't overclock the Ryzen 5 1600 at all, but boosted up the Ram from the default 2133 to 3200.

Hi, I am planning my first ever pc build and I have some conserns about the bios updating thing, that pcpartpicker says you have to do on an older (b350) MOBO, to run a 2ng gen Ryzen CPU. My budget is aroung 1000 Euros. I will game in the pc, but also edit alot of videos and pictures. Therefor I want a good CPU. I want the AMD Ryzen 2700 (because the stock cpu fan looks dope af ) but also because it is super good (from what I have heard) when it comes to editing. The question(s) I have are; If the performance of the build, especially the CPU will be effected if I choose to use a b350 MOBO? Pcpartpicker says that I have to update the bios on a b350 to be able to run a 2ng gen ryzen cpu. Do I need to have a pc, swich that mobo with my b350 and update it there, or can I put in the ryzen 2700 and update from a usb stick? And, I am not intrested in overclocking at all Thank you all for answering <3 (Btw, I have heard of mobos that are 2nd gen ready, are there any b350 that you can buy that are already bios updated?) <3

Good evening! I just built two new systems as follows: Ryzen 5 2400g 16gb Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM (3000mhz) Gigabyte GA-AB350 Gaming 3 mobo 240gb Sandisk SSD PLUS 1TB Western Digital Caviar Blue HDD Cooler Master MasterWatt 550W power supply NZXT S340 Case (hers white, mine black) Everything seems great except on my system I am getting constant BSOD's stating (VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE stop code ATIKMPAG.SYS). However, I noticed that I am only getting it when trying to run both RAM modules. If I remove one, and just run on the single 8gb stick, I don't get any errors. I've tried everything I can think of, even duplicating the settings on my wife's machine. I'm not overclocking the RAM - I even dropped it down to 2133mhz to see if it would behave. That didn't work either. I swapped out CPU's with the one in my wife's machine and that also didn't work as it gave me the same BSOD. I believe I have all the right drivers installed (I've removed them through DDU Uninstaller and reinstalled them). The system will also run fine on BOTH RAM modules if I completely remove AMD drivers and use Microsoft Basic Display adapter as my display driver. The only problem with this is that I can't hear any sound from my HDMI monitor speakers and my games play like complete crap - almost to the point of being unplayable. Any ideas? I've ran tests on the RAM and no faults were reported in both Windows Memory Diagnostic and MemTest86. I'm stumped. I can provide Sysnative and other files if needed for diagnostic purposes.
