I was looking at PC Case Gear only a few minutes ago, they have a massive sale on XFX graphics cards. Like, $100 off most of their cards. http://search.pccasegear.com/search#w=xfxblitz What's even better is that the Radeon Rewards program is still on, so you can claim more than $100 worth of games.

(sorry if this is in the wrong spot) So, this morning, to my dismay, my Lumia stopped detecting it's sim card. As such, I have begun my look into a new phone, and the Moto G seems to be a rather good option. However, Australia is horrible when it comes to finding tech, and as such I'm trying (and failing) at finding a 16 GB Moto G, so I was wondering if anyone on here knew where to find one.

Hello internets, So I've been battling for a while now with my S3. Sure, it is a little old, but its still lightning fast after the last software update and I enjoy using it. However, after using an iPhone for a period of about 5 weeks, returning to the S3 is proving to be difficult, with the S3 having problems with my sim. I'm from Australia, and am currently with a telecom called Optus. I love Optus for its amazing prepaid caps, and I've never had to speak to any one from Optus ever. My experience with the company has been a breeze, and so I wish to continue with them. However, Instagram refuses to work over mobile data now, and I am also fairly certain that Clash of Clans doesn't load over data either (not that a game is really all that important). Being able to use instagram no matter where I am was one of the reasons I purchased the phone in the first place two years ago, and is something I'm not willing to live without. I have tried a Telstra sim in my phone (courtesy of my mother) and everything loads fine. Instagram and CoC are the only affected apps as far as I know, and it really bothers me as I know that in the early days of using the iPhone I often went back and forth between them with zero problems. Does anyone know how I might rectify this issue? Any advice, as always, is greatly appreciated - tharrison14

I'm looking for a headset with the following features: 7.1 or 5.1 surround sound (if not digital tell me why digital is bad) Leatherette ear cups (with noise canceling) Comfortable with extended use Good quality sound (i listen to music with lots of bass) Microphone that is really good Price under $150 AUD (maybe $200) USB or 3.5mm (pink and green jack) Hopefully a controller with volume and mic mute whether on the cord are headset. I'm looking for something to game with for hours on end but have great sound as well I'm currently using the Logitech G35 7.1 surround sound headset but am looking for something more reliable and hopefully better. There are so many to choose from and not enough thorough reviews for me to make a definite decision. Please share your experiences, opinions and recommendations on any headsets that have the above features. What are the pro's and cons of your recommendations? Thank you for your help.

Hello I plan to build a gaming pc soon and I already have an XFX R9 280X DD black OC edition it looks beautiful but i can't use it yet Here is the link for the parts that I have come up with so far: Here - Budget: $600-$700 preferably closer to $600 - Zip Code or Location: Queensland, Australia, 4740 - Specific Use: Gaming mostly, Minecraft with friends (because there PC's suck) as well as COD Black Ops 2, GMod and various other steam games probably with other friends(who have decent PC's) - Any preferred components: Haswell CPU (i was thinking I5 4440) because i will upgrade later to a 4770k and I don't want to have to do Mobo and Cpu at once as it will probably be to expensive - Any spare parts you can re-use: I have a R9 280X that I'm going to use - Overclocking your processor: Probably not - Need an Operating System:No I have a $100 gift card that I can use - Need a Monitor? / Mouse? / Keyboard: No, No and no - Need a Wireless Card or Adapter: If the mobo doesn't have wireless built in - Need Another Component: I don't think so Other Useful Info - Preferred Case: Thermaltake Chaser a-21 - Number of Monitors: 1 (1080p) with an old secondary one to have Skype open as well - Other Info: I will be buying mostly from PC case gear unless there are good sales somewhere else, I plan to upgrade everything in this build so over time (thats why i need Haswell) i will have 2 computers and then I will be selling this to my Brother and/or Sister eventually so it must be able to run Sims 3(and 4 when it comes out) SMOOTHLY Goodnight everybody I will check this again in the morning. Yawn, also sorry if there is something wrong with this post I'm still kinda new at forums.

Does anyone know a good PC modding that ships worldwide or is Australian. I want a sort of big range or things (water cooling parts, straight tubing, paints, primers, glues ect) Also where (apart from here) is the best place to buy second hand PC parts? Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone, first post here and first (proper) pc is going to be in the works soon! I'm here looking for some advice on parts. After much reading and watching on the internet (of Linus' videos and other sources too) I've come up with a list of parts that I think will suit my budget of ~AU$1000 (yay for Australian prices!) pretty well. But first - what do I want from this PC? Well, here are the general requirements: Almost exclusively for gaming (I have a MacBook that I can do any High School and in the not too distant future Uni work on). I play pretty much all kinds of games, but the main one for me is Assetto Corsa (I am a bit of a petrol head, so racing games are the number 1 component of my library). Other games that I enjoy include Skyrim, Bioshock Infinite, and a bit of Civ 5 and occasional Minecraft with friends. Yes, I am a very diverse gamer - pretty much the only things I don't play are MMOs. I will be using a 1080p monitor, and although in the future I'd like to move to triple 1080p monitors, I won't be any time soon and will get a new graphics card for that when the time comes. Must be small. I want to be able to transport it in luggage, particularly because I may be going interstate for Uni. Cases that I am most keen on are the Corsair 250D, the Silverstone Raven RVZ01 and the EVGA Hadron Air (although it is a little on the expensive side for me). Must have Wifi. Just needs it. Also, I'd prefer to have the slim sticking-out-the-back type of antenna which I think this MSI board has, whereas others seem to have separate antennas connected by long cables. I don't plan to over clock. So stock CPU cooler is fine. Needs an optical drive. Again, it just needs it. PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks CPU: Intel Core i3-4130 3.4GHz Dual-Core Processor ($135.00 @ PCCaseGear) Motherboard: MSI H81I Mini ITX LGA1150 Motherboard ($125.00) Memory: G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($105.00 @ Mwave Australia) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($69.00 @ PCCaseGear) Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Video Card ($229.00 @ PCCaseGear) Case: Corsair 250D Mini ITX Tower Case ($119.00 @ CPL Online) Power Supply: FSP Group 550W 80+ Silver Certified ATX Power Supply ($85.00) Optical Drive: LG GH24NSB0 DVD/CD Writer ($22.00 @ Mwave Australia) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($115.00 @ CPL Online) Total: $1004.00 (Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.) (Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-03-08 23:18 EST+1100) NB: PCPartPicker's Australian section seems to not have a lot of the latest stock at PCCaseGear, which is where I'd prefer to buy my parts from, FYI. Some notes on this parts list: This is pretty much the limit of my budget. I could perhaps go for a few more dollars but $1050 would be the ABSOLUTE maximum. The EVGA card there is the FTW edition. I know the Mobo only supports 1600mhz RAM and mine is 1866, but they are currently the same price so may as well get the 1866, even if it runs at 1600. I don't care for having an SSD, I'd rather spend the money elsewhere and then I'll think about an SSD in the future. Yes I'd like one, no I don't want to pay for it. I want Windows 7, because I often play some older games (racing sims) that I'm not sure behave well under W8. Also, a general question on RAM speeds - from what I can understand, you need to use XMP in order to get speeds higher than 1600mhz. So far, I've seen mixed opinions on whether a Mobo with an H87 chip with XMP support and RAM with XMP support can together use more than 1600mhz. Some say yes, others no... help? I think that's just about everything, so thanks in advance for your help

Okay so two weeks ago i finally built my first pc the specs are i5-4670k cooled by a cooler master hyper 212 evo 8 gigs of g.skill ram at 1600mhz Sapphire r9 290 Tri X edition gigabyte ga-z87x-d3h antec 620w high current gamer power supply and it's all in a define r4 with only the fans that came with the case. A samsung 840 evo ssd (i also have a 2tb hdd) I'm currently gaming at 1440p and want to get the most out of my hardware. Everything is still at stock speeds as i have absolutely no idea where to begin learning about over clocking, you guys probably get asked about a million times on this forum so i sorry if this is the millionth and 1 time but can you tell me which componets i should overclock first? Does it make a difference? I have Trixx and furmark installed, but i'm not exactly sure what to do with them, any help you could give me would be appreciated. Ultimately what im asking is...... how the hell do i overclock?

Hi, this is my first post! Although I have been on the forums and following LTT for quite a while now. I am really struggling with choosing a graphics card. I am not sure whether I should go with the R9 290 or the GTX 780, both probably being DirectCU II versions. I am from Australia where everything is more expensive, so here are the prices: Asus R9 290 DirectCU II: $589 Asus GTX 780 Direct CU II: $649 OR Risk shipping the 780 from Amazon America to Aus for around $550 AUD plus shipping. I plan on playing the latest titles on ultra at 1920x1200. What do you guys think? I personally think that NVIDIA has better software, but I don't know whether I should go with the 290 from here or risk shipping the 780. Thanks

Hello, I'm in a spot of trouble. I wish to order a Moto X from Moto Maker (Specificly one with a bamboo back), but as I live in Australia (Ballarat, Its near Melbourne) they do not ship here. Another problem is they do not accept Australian credit cards. I have tried US postal forwarding services, but this is where the credit card problem comes in. Some services all you to get them to buy for you, but it seems Motorola has banned this. Now getting to the point, this may be a lot to ask for but I was hoping a kind internet stranger could possibly buy one and ship it over? Thank you if you even considered this as I understand the reasons you may not be able to, and you can help Thank you!

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and have found there seems to be a lot of Aussies on here. So, I was just wondering, if any of you fellow Aussie's out there have recommendations of shops/stores to go to? I currently live in Brisbane and the only shop I really check out is MSY. Not only physical stores, but online stores that ship to Australia without costing more than the actual items. I tend to find lots of awesome and cheap builds but the online stores either don't ship to Australia or just aren't worth it because of postage. I'm sorry if there's already a topic on this, I couldn't seem to find one (search function doesn't seem too useful). I know I could just Google it, but I'd rather the opinion of you guys. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

So as it stands anything on this list of parts i can change so i want to know whether you guy's think i should change anything. PS: Please note that the GPU listed on my parts list is actually a gigabyte non reference cooler one, but i couldn't find it on pc part picker. And also please note i'm open to suggestions on whether the mouse and keyboard i chose were good options, i also chose a razer mouse pad one of those really long ones that you sit you keyboard on.

So, I have a desk, and on this desk is a screen, some generic 16:9 1080p screen. But this screen is lonely, and needs a partner in crime. Now to cut to the chase, I am looking for the smallest flat screen monitor that I can get my hands on. I used to have a 3:4 dell monitor that was given to almost everyone who purchased a basic PC 5-4 years ago and it seems to fit my needs perfectly, but as fate would have it, I gave it to a friend who I built a PC for. He now uses it as a secondary screen and refuses to let me steal it back due to it being one of the few cheapo screens that has an adjustable height and rotation. Here is some store page of one, But I don't think its the same model name because the 1703FP seems to have a semi circle base, where as the one I was looking for is the one seen in the pictures. https://cfiestore.com/monitors/dell_flat_panel_color_monitor/mondel02sgtd/dell_ultrasharp_1703fp_1734_tft_flat_panel_color_monitor.html I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get one?

This is my ever first build which I plan to get near the end of this month. Budget & location: I have a budget of roughly $2000 AUD and I plan to purchase the parts from umart online. Peripherals: Keyboard, mice and mousepad. No OS needed. Upgrading because: I have an old laptop that can just run minecraft. I already have a planned part list but wouldn't mind a complete rundown on all parts. CPU: Intel i5 4670k $275 AUD CPU cooler: Cooler master 212 evo $38 AUD Motherboard: Asus z87-a LGA1150 $198 AUD Memory: G.skill Ripjaws X 8gb DDR3-1600 (2 x 4GB) $99 AUD Storage: Samsung 840 Evo 120gb SSD (Boot drive) $109 AUD Secondary Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1tb hard drive $65 AUD GPU: Asus DCII GTX 780 $669 AUD Case: Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 mid tower case $125 AUD Extra Case Fans: Corsair AF120 Quiet edition Twin pack $33 AUD PSU: Antec High Current Gamer 620w semi-modular Power Supply $109 AUD Monitor: Asus VE248h 24" 1080p monitor $188 AUD Mouse: Logitech G400s $50 AUD Keyboard: CM Storm Quickfire Pro Mechanical keyboard $107 AUD Mousepad: Steelseries qck $7 AUD Total: $2072 AUD

Post your experiences with free wifi, good or bad! My latest: i am currently staying at a place that offers free wifi, so i got the password and logged in, then got informed that i have 3 hours, or a maximum of 25mb's down and 25mb's up, thats not speed, but total usage speedtest showed 0.5mbps speed... (Interestingly i got halfway through posting this and it ran out, so i have had to retype it out on my 3G) Edit: grammer
