Hey guys, So I currently have a Logitech G230 which is alright, but is starting to act up after 2 years, so I'm looking around for a new headphones + mic. It doesn't necessarily have to be a headset, but I'm just wondering if having them both separate would be a good idea or better in terms of audio/mic quality. I'm planning to spend around 200AUD for both but I've got no idea what is best for that price.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could point me in the way of a sub $150 RGB mechanical keyboard, for the AUSTRALIAN buyer. If its any help, I live in sydney, but I would much rather buy online and have delivery, as I live in the northern beaches. The one keyboard I have found that fits this description is the TTesports Posiedon Z RGB, but I don't know whether or not it's good, due to the Kaihl switches? If anyone here has one, please tell me what you think of it. Plz Halp

As an Australian myself, I hoped the government (when Liberals were elected) would go with Labors fibre only, what the Liberals are doing is fibre to the node, then copper to the house, very disappointing. So much potential in speeds lost just by the government saving a quick buck. Someone suggest me a country that has decent internet and isn't being run by clowns in government. Cloud 9 and Virtus.Pro are coming to Melbourne Australia, along with many other teams for the first ESL tournament in Australia. They will be playing for a prize pool of $55,555 Australian Dollars. Yes, this is an ESL tournament so expect it to be on twitch.tv world wide. I can't wait, I live close to Melbourne and will definitely be going to support my favourite team, Cloud 9! https://www.crownmelbourne.com.au/entertainment/live-theatre/counter-strike-invitational EDIT: Lots more information on the reddit post about this. www.goo.gl/oS3tGb

Hi guys I just bought a used GTX660 for $130 yesterday from Gumtree for my brother's PC (specs below). MSI H57 MicroATX mobo Intel Core i3 530 @2.93ghz 4GB DDR3 ram (2x2) Fractal Design Arc Mini R2 Corsair CX 600 USB 3.0 PCIe expansion card (for front panel USB 3.0 motherboard connector) Anyway got it home, blew all the dust out of it, installed and everything was working fine last night. This morning, he was gaming for about an hour or two and then the whole PC crashed. The PC would then refuse to boot with the card in. I switched the old HD4350 in and the system booted fine. So I took the 660 and switched it with the 970 in my PC (specs in signature) to test whether it was a PSU issue. PC wouldn't boot and then I smelt some smoking. Powered down, switched the cards back and my system booted fine. So I'm pretty sure a capacitor on the GPU has blown or something. The card still has all stickers (warranty and otherwise intact), should I attempt to RMA the card? I've heard ASUS RMA experience can be a bit shoddy, is it worth the hassle?

So the fury x has been priced in Australia and New Zealand. It looks like it's competing with the 980 ti in pricing. Here is the pricing. Link.

What do you guys think about this build ? As you can seen most them are from reputed brands which feature a red and black color scheme. I do live in Melbourne so I have to decide which parts to ship from the US while which ones to purchase local. I just want the best content creation rig which will able to edit videos and make music in a DAW while having the ultimate overclock-able gaming rig. I am open for recommendations. Monitor, mouse and keyboard are taken care of so don't worry about that Thanks Guys, Niroo

Been searching on google, but cant seem to find the answer that I want. I just want to know EXACTLY what happens when you hard reset a Wireless Router. I have a Netgear cg3000 with Optus (Australia). We got our router when we signed up with the deal so its a normal router not a special one. The only thing is our land line phone is run though it as-well. If i hard reset how do i reconfigure it, do i need any info from optus to get it up and running again. Basically all I need is a detailed step by step procedure from Hard Resetting the router to getting it back to where it currently is. (Internet connectivity and file sharing) Sorry if this is hard to understand.

The controversial mandatory metadata-retention bill has been passed by the Senate, forcing Australian internet service providers to keep records of phone and internet usage of all users for a minimum of two years. The terms of this bill allow the data to be accessed by government security agencies at their will. Many companies already did retain user data but did so for varying durations and in an unregulated environment. The bill was passed with 43 votes for and 16 votes against. Older news - http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-03-24/metadata-debate-in-the-senate/6344246 Newer news - http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-03-26/data-retention-laws-pass-federal-parliament/6351278 The cost of retaining the data will almost certainly be paid for by taxpayer funds and/or by ISPs increasing their prices to consumers (as if those prices weren't high enough).

Hey, I'm in need of a new laptop for uni and general purpose. I was wondering if anyone knows of anything half decent for around or under $700. Things I'm looking for in the laptop: Number pad Decent power Would prefer GPU also, but a compromise would be made if a nice ultrabook or something was available. My main thing here is something with decent specs for word, excel, and assignment work, as well as possibly photoshop and lightroom use on the side. Gaming performance isn't essential as I have a Rig at home. The closest and best thing I've come across so far is this: http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/asus-transformer-book-flip-tp500ln-15-6-core-i5-laptop-sytp500li5 But I would like to go a bit cheaper if possible. Thanks in advance!

Hey! Any recommendations for this build as this is my first build and I don't really know what I'm doing. I mainly got those parts from builds I found on the internet. http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/rPqtbv I'm mainly concerned about the motherboard and power supply since I don't really have all that much knowledge on those two components. And yes I am aware that I only have an SSD I'm pretty sure its enough space as I've used my current computer for about three years with only 200gb used. Going to be using it for 1080p gaming for now until I can upgrade to 1440p later down the line. Thanks!

My sister have been working overseas in AU for couple years, she want to gift me a game (either witcher III or some other games that I want) but... because region restriction I think that's not going to work so I've just told her to get me a steam wallet cards/code but unfortunately I can't find online store that selling this (and if they sell it, most likely it's sold out) EB games doesn't even list it on their online store anymore. I've ask her to get it from G2A, but it cost her about US $73 for US $50 credits, I ask her not to, that just too much.

Hey all, I'm looking into buying an NVIDIA Shield TV for my living room, but unfortunately its unavailable in Australia. I was wondering if I have it shipped from the US if it would work without issue? Any help would be appreciated Cheers

Hey guys, my previous post suggested I change alot of things, so I need your help choosing my pc. I will tell you the criteria I want to meet, - Upgradability - Games run smoothly at stock, can be cranked up a bit - Good for multi-tasking - Best performance for the each dollar - Doesn't need a good exterior - Prices need to be in AUD - Little overclocking abilities - Needs 8 GB ram - Requires a cooler of some sort on the CPU So those are my main uses for this, I will do a build log when I start building. So my main focus on this build is bare performance, I don't want to waste money on parts that do not effect in-game performance. I would like to overclock my CPU for best performance, I'm not expecting a huge overclock, just a low-mid range one. My budget is $800. Thanks for reading my thread, feel to give your opinion on the responses.

Hey guys. It's my first time doing a gaming computer build in a while, and I thought I'd run this past you guys, see if there's anywhere I could improve. So, this thing's not intended to be a crazy build. It's only going to have one monitor with it, and it's not going to be running stuff that's crazily taxing on the system. Stuff like League of Legends, Starcraft II, and the like. Probably alongside some minor video editing and general university work usage (as much as I try to keep my uni stuff to my laptop). I've got a $1000 AUD budget to work with, and I don't have to worry about peripherals. CPU - Intel Core i5-4460 ($250) CPU Cooler - Stock Intel heatsink and fan Motherboard - ASRock H97 PRO4 ($110) RAM - GeIL Evo Potenza 16GB (2*8GB) DDR3-1600 ($120) Storage - Seagate Barracuda 1TB Hard Drive ($70) Graphics Card - Gigabyte Radeon 7950 (secondhand - $150) Case - Deepcool Tesseract BF ATX Mid Tower ($45) Power Supply - Corsair CX 500W 80+ Bronze ($100) Operating System - Windows 8 64-Bit ($130) If I've done the maths right, I should be able to get all that, plus a $20-ish optical drive, inside my budget. So far, it's all still just a plan (besides the 7950, which I picked up a couple weeks ago). Any advice is welcome!

Hey all aussies out there. I heard about the steam summer sales and was wondering where would be the best place to grab a steam gift card in australia. I need to be able to buy it in store and for as cheap as possible. I've searched EB Games' online store, and it doesn't show up, but apparently they have it in stores? Thanks for your help.

source: Reuters --- I dunno what to say, I never dealt in cryptocurrency and probably won't do it for a very long time my own opinion of cryptocurrency is that's to volatile; I've done some research and as the cryptocoins become mode popular, the difficulty factor of acquiring one is greater and the hardware needed to stay relevant becomes more complex and thus, more expensive

Hello everyone, welcome to my first build. I'm hoping to get some advice, feedback, and constructive criticism on specific or the overall rig. At the moment I am concerned whether my power supply (Antec platinum 550w) will be sufficient/ is compatible for this build. Background info: I am a 21 y/o uni student in Australia, im upgrading from my old ass mac which has an i5-2450M, and 4gb of ram 1600 MHz DDR3 (https://support.apple.com/kb/SP649?locale=en_US&viewlocale=en_US) go tot that link if you want those specs. I'm looking to increase the speed and responsiveness of my computer overall, as well as being able to multitasks a bunch of programs at the same time, without having everything freez and slow down all the time. I also like to game when i have time: WoW, age of empires, etc. I am not extremely interested in gettingt the best graphics at the moment as i wil be moving in 1.5 years, so ill have to sell the monitor that i will buy anyway, and ill upgrade the gpu and the monitor once i move. what im hoping to run smoothly on the computer (at the same time): -a game (eg: WoW, pokerstars) -Skype call -10 tabs of firefox, youtube, fb, -downloading stuff on Vuze -PDF -Word -Spotify Here are a list of the parts that i've bought/have: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/LybwQ7 CPU: AMD FX-9590 4.7GHz 8-Core Processor I found this processor brand new with the heatsink (which i wont use) both unopened, for only 200 AUD on ebay. Now I know everyone loves intel, (i think the go-to intel processor is like the i7-4790k right ?) but considering it is around 500AUD here.. i think i got a pretty good deal with the FX9590. what do y'all think ? CPU Cooler: Deepcool CAPTAIN 360 273.4 CFM Fluid Dynamic Bearing Liquid CPU Cooler 160AUD on ebay Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 ATX AM3+ Motherboard 152AUD@ Newegg, ouch.. wish there were cheaper boards that supported the CPU Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Blue 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory 110AUD from Newegg Storage: Crucial BX100 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive 118AUD @ Newegg Storage: Toshiba 3TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive 124AUD @ Newegg dont really need 3tb but i thought it was pretty nice for the price. Video Card: EVGA GeForce GT 740 2GB Superclocked Video Card 124AUD From Newegg. I really dont know much about the GPU market, but I know that i wanted something cheap but still good in terms of budget. I have no idea if this card will be what im looking for though. What do you guys think ? Case: Corsair 450D ATX Mid Tower Case 192AUD from ebay.com.au (yes cheaper in the US, but shipping cost is crazy expensive). Also can anyone tell me if all the fans are included in this product (i know some are, like the front) ? Power Supply: Antec EarthWatts Platinum 550W 80+ Platinum Certified ATX Power Supply I had this laying around so im hoping it will be up to the job, cause my bank balace is crying. Total: 1180AUD (866USD) I have a razer naga, as well as blackwidow chroma that my gf just bought me for our anniversary. I intend on getting windows 10 as the OS But i havent bought a monitor yet. my main criteria is 1080p and under 200AUD im not really sure what to get here, so suggestions are appreciated. Please keep in mind that I am in Melbourne Australia and that buying from the US is not realistic due to shipping costs, ive personally been using Ebay.com.au . ps: let me know what you think abou this one: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=558_1212&products_id=26460 so please let me know about the PSU, the monitor, comments, critiques, etc. Thank you, Tom
